AI for Creatives is a podcast by Creatives for Creatives connecting art, innovation, and humanity. Segment 1: Kamilah and Nova share what they've been up to. Kamilah talks about how she's speaking at MogulCon, a conference for business leaders. She'll be speaking on AI for your business. She's excited to be representing as a black woman. Nova agrees that it's important to show that this is a space for everyone. Nova talks about her experience at the Gitex conference in Dubai. She had a chance to teach a workshop there and speak on marketing and gave a keynote speech. She also expresses excitement about working on more things with the House of Nova. Segment 2: Nova begins to talk about what the future holds and how we stay ahead. “It feels like a bullet train with no breaks,” Nova says. Kamilah talks about talking to people who have many concerns about AI and its impact and their fears and concerns. Kamilah talks about Biden's recent AI Executive Order, and Meta being sued over being part of the cause of the current mental health crisis. Nova remarks about how she thought that would happen sooner. We need to stay aware and pay attention to addictive systems. Segment 3: Nova talks about the difference between phone and in-person communication over the impersonal, online, and social media connections. With AI, there's a danger of it becoming even more impersonal. How do we stay ahead, and protect our mental health and wellbeing? Nova feels AI will disrupt many industries. Learn what your role is or can be with the new AI tech? Fear of the technology will not make it go away. Kamilah agrees that you have to find your balance. Segment 4: Kamilah talks about how you lose inflection and body language via text and DM. Kamilah questions if AR will add more human interactivity. How would the added elements of AR improve on DMs and the like? Nova feels 2024 will be a year of AR “in a big way”. Nova talks about more generative AI art and holograms Segment 5: Nova expects more 3D in meetings, world-building, fashion, more filters, and more. She expects existing use cases like architecture and flight sims to expand. Kamilah talks about how for her it's always been about access. Having a global conversation or conference without having to travel, but being able to access VR and AR will change connections. Segment 6: Nova talks about how the movie Iron Man is a perfect example of AR and AI technology use. Fictional, but not so far from becoming reality. Generative AI is becoming an increasingly usable assistant for business. How will you upskill with the new tech or differentiate yourself without it? However, the process will need people to still be part of the solution using these tools. That's one way to stay ahead. Kamilah agrees that it's about really jumping in. Conclusion: As a creative, you're always learning to use new tools. If these technologies can help give back some of our time, they can be beneficial to us rather than detrimental.
