Poi arrivarono gli americani e divenne pull-over (lett.: tira da sopra), mentre la maglietta (anche qui, l'italiano guardava alla confezione) della salute diventò t-shirt (lett.: camicia a forma di T). Gianni Meccia, cantautore anni Sessanta, ci fece il tormentone (canzone Il pullover), poi, col consumismo, la cosa si complicò, perché tutti, ormai, potevano averne più di uno, di maglioni. Così, si cominciò a variarne i disegni e le decorazioni.Esaurita la fantasia anche qui, la Benetton ci fece i soldi inventando le sfumature di colore e le pubblicità provocatorie. Ma anche questa trovata raggiunse, com'è destino di tutte le cose umane, il suo limite. Così, i fashion design altrimenti detti stilisti (e in altri tempi chiamati semplicemente sarti o, dato il nostro argomento, magliari) si inventarono le varianti di forma. Nacquero i maglioni con le maniche più lunghe del necessario e fornite di buco in cui infilare il pollice. Ma pure qui la corda fece presto a mostrarsi.IL MAGLIONE POLITICAMENTE SCORRETTOE allora la Gucci ha ideato un maglione che copre il naso fin sotto gli occhi. Ora, dovendo il cliente respirare e parlare e mangiare, si rese necessaria un'apertura per la bocca. Solo che, a quel punto, il maglione finiva con l'assomigliare a un cappuccio da topo d'albergo, quello che le forze speciali chiamano, chissà perché con nome mutuato da Tex, «mefisto». Perciò, la maison Gucci ha pensato bene di contornare il buco della bocca di rosso. Ora, su un maglione nero, quel rosso attorno alla bocca sembrano due grandi labbra. Che però non hanno fatto pensare a un riferimento erotico, macché. Eggià, viviamo in tempi di Politicamente Corretto (cioè, di polizia del pensiero) e tutti i millennials (cioè, i giovani a cui il maglione era destinato all'immodica cifra di 890 dollari al pezzo) si sono messi a strillare.Quelli americani, naturalmente, perché noi europei non ce ne saremmo nemmeno accorti per la ragione che passiamo a illustrare. Negli anni Trenta nel profondo Sud americano vigeva l'apartheid. Se un'orchestra si esibiva con, anche, alcuni musicisti neri, questi ultimi dovevano essere nascosti da una tenda. Bagni separati, bar separati eccetera. E non importava la fama e la rinomanza raggiunta dal nero in questione: anche se star, se, poniamo, in hotel toccava l'acqua della piscina, questa doveva essere svuotata dal personale e disinfettata, pena la perdita di tutta la clientela bianca.Fu Kennedy, negli anni Sessanta, a far togliere dagli elenchi telefonici americani l'asterisco accanto al nome di un nero. Tutto ciò, per noi europei, andava sotto il nome di «americanata» fino all'avvento del Politicamente Corretto, perché siamo stati colonizzati anche in questo. Niente di scandaloso, in teoria: ogni impero irradia la sua cultura. Durante l'occupazione romana di Israele i rabbini tuonavano contro i giovani ebrei che frequentavano le palestre, si radevano la barba e si facevano chiamare Marco. Si pensi ai giovani sovietici che anelavano alla coca-cola e ai jeans, simboli, per loro, di libertà. Il fatto è che anche gli americani erano, e sono, colonizzati dalla cultura liberal, quel mix di giacobinismo e marxismo utopico che oggi si chiama Politically Correctness e ha invaso il mondo occidentale (per ora). Ebbene, noi di una certa età abbiamo avuto il tempo di respirare aria diversa, ma i millennials americani (e, perciò, anche quelli europei) non hanno mai visto altro.TUTTI CON LA STESSA DIVISA?Ebbene, per tornare al maglione Gucci, qualcuno negli Usa si è ricordato che, ai tempi dell'apartheid, i neri non potevano figurare nei film e venivano impersonati da attori bianchi con la faccia dipinta di nero tranne il largo contorno della bocca, giacché gli afro hanno le labbra spesse. Ora, poiché le vendite ai millennials vanno fatte soprattutto sui c.d. social, dove i giovani si fanno influenzare volentieri da persone come, per esempio, Chiara Ferragni e Fedez, tranquillamente detti influencers, ecco l'apriti cielo contro il maglione «razzista». Ovviamente, anche il ragazzino italiano che nulla sapeva dell'apartheid americano anni Trenta e farebbe la faccia da pesce lesso se gli si parlasse di Hal Jolson (per chi non lo sapesse: era il bianco truccato da negro che interpretò il primo film sonoro della storia, Il cantante di jazz), si trova costretto a rinunciare a quel maglione Gucci (ammesso che abbia gli 890 dollari necessari).La Gucci, così come a suo tempo la Barilla, si è profusa in scuse e, per dimostrare la sua buona volontà, ha assunto un Chief Diversity Officer, cioè un esperto di Politicamente Corretto. Il cui modello - vedrete - è alla fin fine la Cina di Mao: tutti con la stessa divisa.
