We often hear the words "I love you," but without action, they feel empty, and relationships suffer. The Bible teaches that love is more than a feeling—it's something we do. In the Wesleyan tradition, Christians are called to live out their faith through loving action, making love the foundation of a dynamic, growing relationship with God and others. In this message, we dive into what it means to love actively and how it leads to true holiness in heart and life.If this message is a blessing, you can support our ministries by donating at www.fumccb.com. We have just begun a new series from pastor Lloyd Pulley called “The Family of God”. Today we'll explore how the Church is the body of Christ. Now, that's something that most Christians have heard over the course of their lives, but do we really know what it means? And more importantly, do we know how to activate that body for the good of all and the glory of God? Our scripture reference is the sixth chapter of Galatians.
Today we begin a series from pastor Lloyd called “The Family of God”. We'll begin today with a study in Galatians six, and the definition of what a church is supposed to be. As you no doubt are aware, there is what's called the universal Church. It's made up of believers around the world, but today we'll be narrowing our focus to the local Church. What should be the function of the church? What should be the function of the individuals who make up the church? Pastor Lloyd will be answering those questions over the next two broadcasts.
Faith in God's promises must be so real that the love it produces proves the reality of the faith.

Finally settling in a stable, Mary gave birth to Jesus, and just as Jesus came to this Earth, God's messengers proclaimed His glory and mission to the shepherds in a nearby field. At once they hurried to find the Messiah and gazed upon him. In this Bible Story, Ananias and Saphira are struck down for their false sense of holiness and charity. They feign generosity to look holy, and pay dearly for their deception. This story is inspired by Acts 4:32-5:16. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.Today's Bible verse is Acts 5:3 from the King James Version.Episode 219: As the new family of Jesus was being formed, men and women shared each others burdens and resources, widows and orphans were taken care of, and the bond of love between them all was growing. Unfortunately, even in this utopia greed worked its way into a few hearts. Ananias and his wife Saphira sold some property to look generous to others. But when they gave the money to the family of believers, they lied and kept some of the money back for themselves. They were behaving like the figtree that showed leaves but bore no fruit. And just like that fig tree, they would die for their deception.Hear the Bible come to life as Pastor Jack Graham leads you through the official BibleinaYear.com podcast. Faith in God's promises must be so real that the love it produces proves the reality of the faith.
We start by discussing our relationship with our parents and the expression of love and emotions in their generation. We explore the concept of love and how it can be demonstrated through simple acts like planning a family dinner. Pernilla shares a personal anecdote about realizing that love is life's purpose during a retreat with Sally Kempton. We talk about methods for cultivating unconditional love through practices such as simple pranayama and visualization. We emphasize that love transcends verbal communication and the limitations of the mind, residing in a realm of energy and connection beyond words. We end with a discussion of the value of mantra. Sally Kempton (00:00) Introduction to Unconditional Love: Episode #6 opens with an introduction to the concept of unconditional love and a discussion about the nature of unconditional love, especially towards children and pets. Do you love people outside of your culture enough to share your faith with them? If not, your not alone. In today's episode Karen and Lucy tackle this difficult topic and give practical ways to love people of different faiths and cultures. Asking God for insight into how to love each person well is essential. It is only through God that we can love people in the same way that Jesus does. Loving well in this way can be difficult, especially in our busy lives but is totally worth it. Todays conversation is all about the power of love and the importance of trusting God to provide in difficult situations.Learn more about The Blue Cord at www.TheBlueCord.orgPurchase The Blue Cord book at: https://shop.churchleaders.com/products/the-blue-cord?_pos=1&_sid=c7e502826&_ss=rSupport The Blue Cord: https:www.iHOPEministries.org/giveTimestamps00:00:00 Practical Love: A Conversation with Lucy Allen on Loving People of Other Faiths and Cultures00:03:00 Learning to Love Well and Praying for Miracles00:05:00 Loving Well in Real Life00:06:00 Practical Ways to Fit Time to Love Others into Your Calendar00:11:00 Community, Prayer, and Sharing the Gospel00:13:00 Loving Well in Words, Actions, and Deeds00:17:00 Encountering Jesus Through His Love00:18:00 Show Me How to Love Like JesusHelpful Resources: “The Blue Cord" by Karen Bejjani Find it wherever books are sold online. The Blue Cord Small Group Discipleship Study. Our world is in crisis again. This time, in the beautiful country and amongst the beautiful people of Ukraine. People are fearing for their lives, being separated from family and losing every earthly possession. This, all in the name of war. With a heavy heart, I have a hard time navigating the best way to help in these situations and I'm guessing, if you are listening to this podcast you might, too. My intention and commitment through this podcast and all of my work, is to illuminate the beauty and kindness of the world… even and especially in the darkest of times… times so loaded with fear and sadness, that it's sometimes so overwhelming to figure out what to do. Today, my goal is to highlight the kindness that often occurs in the center of fear… and the realization that both can exist simultaneously… and that we get to chose which one to lean into. And to highlight the people making and impact one step at a time… Community coming together creating a force of love and support… And to tell you that you get to have a part if you choose in this kindness whatever way you'd like and that it matters. Every single action, matters. My hope is that you leave this episode feeling empowered and very much ready to take some kind of action to spread kindness, not only to those in the heart of disaster in Ukraine, but also to all those around you, whatever they are going through. And that you know, that love is always a choice… especially in the face of fear. Here are the organizations and ways in which you can support the people of Ukraine.
