In this episode of At Risk Radio, host Mark Stafford has a conversation with SOM International CEO David Witt and Randy Miller, Executive Pastor at Eagles View Church in North Fort Worth, to discuss powerful lessons from the Global Church and David and Randy's recent visit to Northwest Africa. Randy shares engaging stories from a transformative forty-three-hour car journey with David, illuminating the challenges and deep faith of church leaders in persecuted regions. The conversation highlights the Discussion Discipleship Method (DDM), a practical, easily multipliable approach to discipleship used worldwide, including in the local church back in Texas. Listeners will also hear about Randy's church's bold vision to give more than half its resources outside its own walls, the impact of servant leadership demonstrated through a memorable foot washing, and how global missions are shaping local ministry. Eagles View is committed to funding church planting and discipleship in other places in the world, and SOM International is one of its greatest partners in doing that. This episode is packed with inspiration and actionable insight for church leaders, missions-minded believers, and anyone passionate about Christian leadership, discipleship, and serving the Global Persecuted Church. I am already in line to receive my copy because the game is not about wine...well, maybe wine is part of the game, but the premiss is about fooling the judges. But wait, there are legit judges and phoney judges and it is your job to figure who is who. I am ready to play....and the cool part is, no wine experience is necessary. While there is much that is wrong in the world today, there are many things that are right and good.” – Thomas S. Monson, The Divine Gift of Gratitude, October 2010. * This Thanksgiving may we remember…the best things in life are not THINGS but rather the people and moments you share with them. * Friends, we are facing a giant. We need prayer, and we need a miracle. Fortunately, our God can slay a giant with nothing more than a small stone. But instead of slinging a stone, we need you to call and email your US Senator and ask him/her to support Senator Mike Lee's efforts to amend the so-called Respect for Marriage Act (RMA) – AFA.net * We know you are busy this week. It's Thanksgiving! The enemy knows this too – and he's hoping you will be too busy to say a prayer, send an email, and make a phone call. But these prayers, these phone calls, these emails: these are the small stones that will give God the opportunity to work a miracle. * Senator Lee confirmed that if the Respect for Marriage Act passes, it will be a crushing defeat for religious freedom in America. The RMA will very likely be used to deprive Christian adoption agencies and K-12 schools and colleges of their nonprofit status, unless they disavow their religious belief in one-man, one-woman marriage. * An Anonymous Thanksgiving Message. Many country music fans around Kansas City know Jillian Gregg from her years as a morning show co-host on KBEQ FM - Q104. She opens the book of her life on this episode by discussing her upbringing of being home schooled and consistently spending time in church. By fate, she was given an opportunity to intern at Q104 for Kansas City radio veteran Shotgun Jeff Jaxon, that eventually led to co-hosting a morning show with long-time radio legend, Randy Miller. After Randy's departure, she was retained by Q104 to co-host what would eventually become the Q104 Morning Drive with Mike, Zeke & Jillian. After a long run of co-hosting the popular morning show, she eventually walked away. Upon doing so, discussions began about coming back to radio to work for Q104 competitor, WDAF FM - 106.5 The Wolf. Then Covid happened. All of those talks came to a screeching halt and Jillian was left with the disappointment and heartbreak of what she wanted versus what God wanted for her. Jillian discusses the importance of her Christian faith and how she was challenged to lean on God's word during those difficult times. At the end of this episode, Jillian and I make an exciting announcement about her future, that will give long-time fans an opportunity to reconnect with the talent of her "on air" personality. www.paparonradio.com www.heartlandwaterfowl.com www.domaresolutions.com Follow The Papa Ron Podcast on all of your favorite podcast platforms: Apple, Amazon, Google and Castbox.
