It is a tendency of the mind to fixate, to become preoccupied with certain things, with certain thoughts, with certain stories. In this dharma talk, Peter Doobinin explains how, using the skills the Buddha teaches, we learn to ease fixation. And thereby live in the body and in the heart. The talk was given in the winter of 2026. NY Dharma: www.nydharma.org
Most men think porn addiction is only about sexual desire, lust, or lack of discipline. But after working with men for years—and walking through my own recovery—I've seen something deeper. Many men who struggle with porn addiction also struggle with perfectionism, anxiety, overthinking, obsessive thought patterns, and OCD-like symptoms. They replay conversations, worry about what others think, feel responsible for everyone's emotions, and carry constant pressure to be the perfect husband, father, employee, Christian, or version of themselves.Eventually, that pressure becomes too much. So the nervous system looks for escape. In this episode, I break down the connection between perfectionism and porn addiction through a simple framework: Escape, Fixation, and Control. This loop explains why cravings feel so urgent, why trying harder often doesn't work, and why porn can feel like relief from pressure, shame, anxiety, and the fear of not being enough.Porn creates a false world of control: pleasure without vulnerability, sexual stimulation without real intimacy, and connection without the risk of rejection or emotional responsibility. But afterward, the shame and pressure return even stronger.I also explain the difference between excellence and perfectionism, why defensiveness in marriage can be rooted in fear of failure, and how sobriety often reveals the deeper emotions porn was covering. You'll learn practical tools to help you name the loop, regulate before you resolve, and practice “good enough reps” so your nervous system can learn that you are safe even when everything is not perfect. If perfectionism, anxiety, shame, or the need for control has been part of your porn addiction cycle, this episode will help you understand what's happening beneath the surface—and how to begin breaking free.Link to Blog Article for this EpisodeWatch the YouTube Video: The Perfectionism Trap Behind Porn AddictionVisit No More Desire Tools for Recovery for recovery tools and training, including my free eBook, Workshop, The RAIL Method ™ and more to help you break free from porn.If you're tired of trying to quit porn on your own, the No More Desire Academy gives you a structured path to recovery through coaching, brotherhood, practical tools, and step-by-step training. Thanks to Imron Corporation for hosting this live episode of Stop the Killing at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, recorded in January 2025. What do a vehicle attack in New Orleans…a car explosion in Las Vegas…and a targeted assassination in New York… all have in common? More than you think. In this special live episode — recorded on the field at SoFi Stadium in January 2025 — Sarah and Katherine break down three recent, high-profile cases and reveal the patterns that link them. Because while the headlines call them different things — terrorism, explosion, assassination — the reality is much simpler, and much more important: They are all acts of targeted violence. And if we understand the patterns, we have a chance to stop them. A vehicle used as a weapon.14 people killed. Dozens injured. How the attacker carried out reconnaissance beforehand Why temporary security gaps (like removed bollards) mattered The warning signs that were there before the attack How planning and opportunity collided in real time A shocking incident outside a Trump hotel just hours later. Why this was not what it first appeared to be The role of mental health and personal crisis How quickly speculation can spiral into misinformation The difference between targeted violence and self-directed harm A calculated, premeditated killing in broad daylight. 10 days of surveillance before the attack The escape plan — and where it unraveled How digital footprints helped track the suspect The disturbing rise of online glorification after violent acts These incidents may look different — but the behaviour patterns are the same Targeted violence is almost always planned, not spontaneous The warning signs are there — but often missed or dismissed Prevention starts with recognising changes in behaviour The public plays a critical role, often without realising it Across all three cases, one theme stands out: Behavioural change. Sudden isolation Dropping off the radar Changes in routine, work, or communication Fixation on a person, place, or grievance These are the signals that matter — whether someone is heading toward harming others or themselves. Most active attacks are over in minutes The opportunity to stop them is before they begin Prevention is always a shared responsibility This is not about fear.It is about awareness. This episode was recorded live in January 2025 during the Imron Safety and Security Conference in Los Angeles, surrounded by experts, practitioners, and innovators working on real-world solutions. She Breaks Free....Ditch the Diet & Change Your Relationship with Food & Fitness
Do you ever feel like, even after learning how to stop obsessing over food, your thoughts keep pulling you back in? If that sounds familiar, make sure you go back and listen to episode 404—you'll hear exactly what to do when you're trying to eat better, think better, but food still seems to take up way too much space in your mind. But today, for this Faith-Filled Friday, we're doing something a little different. We're not just talking about breaking food obsession—we're talking about surrendering it. The pressure, the control, the constant thoughts about food… real freedom doesn't come from trying harder. It comes from letting go. I want to show you what that actually looks like in real life, and I hope you'll stick with me today. And if you want more in-depth accountability and coaching, I'd love to help. You can email me at taraj@dietditching.com, or come join our Facebook community, Lose Weight Live Free, where you can connect, share, and get support. Let's do this together.

Bill Maher delivered a sharp roast of President Donald Trump and his team during his latest Real Time monologue, highlighting the administration's odd behaviors and "macho" image, according to RadarOnline.com. However, he noted, "they are looking a little nervous in our war room," referencing the Pentagon's recent ban on photographers due to Pete Hegseth's complaints about unflattering images. He humorously noted that Trump sometimes guesses other men's sizes and gifts them shoes, quipping, "Including Marco Rubio, where they didn't fit, so he's in clown shoes."Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
SEND ME A TEXT MESSAGE NOWI woke up this morning, sat down with breakfast, scribbled a few topics on a piece of paper and decided I was just going to WING IT No script, no long prep, just my gut reactions to some of the stories exploding across the news right now and what they might actually mean once you cut through the spin.First up is the Iran war and the growing tension in the Strait of Hormuz after Iranian forces stopped ships in one of the most critical shipping lanes on the planet. Oil markets are reacting, the International Energy Agency is releasing massive reserves, and the risk of a global economic ripple effect is very real if that choke point stays unstable. At the same time the messaging coming out of leadership makes absolutely no sense. Donald Trump says the war is basically over while Israel is saying there's no time limit and the operation will continue. So which one is it? Is the war winding down or are we watching the early stage of something that could drag on for months? Then there's one of the strangest developments coming out of Washington right now. Reports are circulating that some members of Trump's cabinet and inner circle may be moving into secure military housing facilities instead of normal residences. If that sounds unusual, it's because it is. These aren't the kinds of places people casually decide to live in Washington.Which raises a very simple question. If everything is supposedly calm and under control, why would anyone in the administration feel the need at the end of each day to hide? And then the episode takes a hard turn into one of the strangest stories coming out of Washington right now. Reports say Trump has developed a fixation with a very specific pair of dress shoes and it's turned into a surprisingly odd little ritual around him.It involves people around him, a guessing game about shoe sizes and a habit that has some folks in Washington quietly scratching their heads. I'll explain what's actually going on and why it's one of the most bizarre side stories circulating in politics right now.So while wars, oil markets and global instability dominate the headlines, somewhere inside the political bubble there's also this strange ritual unfolding around the president. Just another day in what can only be described as Trump's Bizarro World. If you've got thoughts about anything I covered in this episode, I want to hear them. You think your struggle with food is about willpower. Or that your body image issues are just about confidence. But what if the real cost isn’t on the scale, but it’s actually in your spirit? In this powerful episode, Leanne Ellington pulls back the curtain on what food and body obsession is really stealing from you. From missed moments with your kids to constant inner criticism and spiritual disconnection, she exposes how fixation around food and your body hijacks your peace, your presence, and your identity. But this isn’t just about the pain. It’s about the pathway to healing. Leanne reveals how your brain was designed by God to heal, and introduces the science behind how that healing actually happens—through identity rewiring, spiritual renewal, and working WITH your brain instead of against it. This episode will help you:- Understand how food and body obsession hijacks your God-given peace, rewires your brain for fear and shame, and drains your spiritual bandwidth- Finally put words to the invisible war you’ve been fighting—between your faith and your fixation, your logic and your longings- See why white-knuckling through cravings or repeating “I love my body” in the mirror won’t work if your nervous system still feels unsafe—and what to do instead to rewire it at the root Because God doesn’t just want your body free. He wants you free. Please share it with at least ONE friend who you think needs to hear it!Host Faust Checho explores the Law of Attraction as taught by Abraham Hicks, unpacking manifestation, emotional alignment, and the art of allowing, in this solo episode of the Far Out with Faust.Drawing directly from the original teachings of Abraham Hicks, Faust places the Law of Attraction in the context of a world saturated with fear, conflict, and distraction. As headlines push scarcity, outrage, and hopelessness, this episode explains how emotional alignment, deliberate creation, and intention determine whether we unconsciously amplify the chaos — or consciously step out of it. Faust explores why negative emotions are signals, not failures, how fixation on current events can reinforce unwanted outcomes, and why mastering focus and the art of allowing is essential for staying grounded, abundant, and clear in unstable times.Topics include:✨ Manifestation explained: Why desire alone isn't enough without belief, expectation, and alignment.

What turns a failed seven-month marriage into an alleged eight-year obsession ending in double homicide?Michael McKee, a 39-year-old vascular surgeon, is charged with four counts of aggravated murder in the shooting deaths of his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her husband Spencer in Columbus, Ohio. Family members say Monique lived with McKee for only seven months before escaping what they describe as emotional abuse and repeated death threats. She divorced him in 2017, remarried in 2020, and built a new life with two children.Prosecutors allege McKee drove six hours from Illinois, entered the Tepe home without forced entry, shot both victims at 3:52 AM, and drove back. Police recovered multiple weapons from his Chicago penthouse, including one preliminarily linked to shell casings at the scene. The indictment includes a firearm suppressor specification. In this deep dive, we apply former FBI profiler Joe Navarro's "wound collector" framework and criminal behavioral analyst Laura Richards' "stalking in slow motion" concept to understand the psychology allegedly at work. We examine why victims often don't report, why the quiet ex is often the most dangerous, and what this case teaches about recognizing warning signs.Education saves lives.
