Today I'm honored to sit down with none other than Andy Morgan, the passionate, knowledgeable, and well-muscled force behind RippedBody.com. Originally from the UK but living in Tokyo, Andy has carved out a very clear path in the crowded world of fitness, and I've learned a ton from his books and online content, which is why I had to invite him on the show.Today you'll learn about Andy's experiences, his no-nonsense approach to fitness communication, and his thoughts on training, muscle-building and fat loss phases, and related topics like body fat percentage, scale weight fluctuations, and challenges during fat loss. Andy will also share his insights on the fitness industry, using data and solid principles to get results.Andy Morgan is a fitness coach, author, and entrepreneur who has been helping people achieve their physique goals for over a decade. He works with busy working professional men who are recreational, physique-focused trainees, and he uses a simple but data-driven and effective approach with his clients. In addition to his website RippedBody.com, he co-authored the hugely popular Muscle and Strength Pyramids and wrote The Diet Adjustments Manual to eliminate guesswork during cuts and bulks. What I really appreciate about his content is how he simplifies complex concepts but uses data to back everything up while calling out the nonsense in the fitness industry with a healthy level of skepticism. __________Book a FREE 30-minute call with Philip here.__________Today you'll learn all about:[3:38] How Andy developed his approach to fitness communication[7:13] How he communicates the science and principles of nutrition and training and their applications[15:54] Advice to people who want to start lifting[19:56] How staying longer in the muscle-building phase is beneficial[33:02] Andy's recommended rate of gain[39:03] How important are body-fat percentages, and Andy's thoughts on using photos[49:31] Training during the fat loss phase[55:44] What is Andy most proud of in his coaching career[59:46] Where to learn more about Andy[1:00:56] OutroEpisode resources:Andy's website: rippedbody.comInstagram: @andy_rippedbodySupport the showFREE 30-minute results breakthrough session with Philip ⬇️https://witsandweights.com/free-callLearn about 1-on-1 coaching ⬇️https://witsandweights.com/coachingAsk Philip anything ⬇️ IG: @witsandweights Email: philip@witsandweights.com Podcast: Q&A voicemail

This week Dan is speaking to Andy Morgan, creator of RippedBody, a blog and coaching program targeted at committed but frustrated fitness trainees who have hit a stall in their progress. What's interesting about Andy's story is the way he's found a niche not only in the fitness space but also in the market in Japan. Andy discusses why he only does bi-weekly email check-in with his clients, how a DC mastermind has prompted him to start hiring coaches, and the methodology behind his successful Instagram strategy: “The problem was I had too many content possibilities and I couldn't decide what to create each day. The solution that I came up with was to list the topics that I could talk about, the types of content that I could create and the formats that I could create in and then rotate through them. And so what that did is - it constrained my choices and allowed for tight creativity”.

Andy Morgan, owner of RippedBody.com, loves living in Japan. He's also fortunate enough to have established a successful online coaching business to fund his adventures. I brought Andy on to talk about the success he's had, and lessons learned, in building a business based around virtual coaching for people interested in getting in shape. We also talk a lot about the amazing weirdness that is life in Japan, for someone born in England. The other day, for example, he dined at a hedgehog cafe. Imagine that! You're going to love this episode. Lot of good actionable tidbits, with plenty of fun anecdotes along the way.

Welcome to the Rippedbody.com Podcast. I’m Andy Morgan founder and head coach at Rippedbody.com, and I will be your host. I originally started this podcast as an excuse to reach out to the best coaches and researchers in the fitness industry. I wanted to steal an hour of their time to ask questions so that I can refine my craft as an online nutrition and training coach. It has become much more than that though. Frankly, I’ve enjoyed doing this a lot more than I thought. I’m touched by the positive feedback these free-flowing interviews have received, so I’ve decided to do more. You’re about to listen to the first season. This is your chance to get to know these people, because in the coming seasons we will delve into much more specific topics with them, so that you can get a broad range of opinions from the top experts, on what matters for muscle growth and fat loss. These interviews are here to complement the no-nonsense nutrition and training guides on the site. We’re in our seventh year now at Rippedbody.com. I’m amazed and supremely grateful to say that as I record this, the site has been viewed over 11 million times, and our free nutrition setup guide has been downloaded nearly 60,000 times. If you haven’t read that yet, head on over to rippedbody.com and enter your email address, here: https://rippedbody.com/podcast Now one last thing. I coach people online, full time, and have been doing so since 2011. This is the main source of my income, and I love it. If I don’t my clients results, I get fired. This means I can only afford to talk and write about what works. So you’re not going to hear any one-sided dogma, nor will you get any supplement sales talk thrown at you, only solid, evidence-based, no-nonsense nutrition and training advice.
