Twiztid made a bold choice for their last album, having guests on nearly every track. But they never make the same album twice, and so they set out to make a modern horror classic of them and them alone (ish). The JJ Boyz are here to listen to that end result, them and them alone (ish). Do Twiztid continue to improve as lyrical monsters while creating some truly sinister audio imagery? Is a lack of guests a benefit or a detriment to the full product? Is our guest a hater of some of the album's best tracks, but refuses to acknowledge that they're wrong? Psychopathic Record is the label that runs beneath the streets. Hatchet House is the sub-label of the label that runs beneath the streets. A house is below the underneath of the streets. The R.O.C.'s story with Psychopathic Records is an interesting one. From touring with ICP as a member of H.O.K., to leaving H.O.K., inadvertently causing Mr. Bones and Hektik to rebrand as Jamie Madrox and Monoxide Child and become Twiztid on Psychopathic, continuing to use H.O.K. and also releasing music as a solo artist, to patching things up with his former group members and eventually joining The Hatchet himself, he had done a lot in his rap career. Joining Hatchet House, R.O.C. would initially be Blaze's hype man and partner in the new group Zodiac Mprint, but before we would get a record from the duo, a solo release was necessary to get people up to speed. We've finally come to the conclusion of our "Shit We Missed". We laughed, we cried, Schmeev threatened to punch Mike in the skull repeatedly for forcing him to listen to these, but we made it. Today, we talk about a little-known album in Psychopathic's history. Prior to AMB's glorious win at GOTJ 2005 for an album contract, V Sinizter did it first. Unfortunately, due to a number of reasons, the album came and went with little fanfare. Mike was finally able to acquire a copy of this album, so it only made sense to try and find out just why Juggalos as a whole didn't gravitate towards it. Was V Sinizter still green as an artist? Did Psychopathic drop the ball in helping to nurture a fledgling album to be worth taking notice of? Did Mike see V Sinizter's set at Camp Xul and think he was cool as hell? We all remember the story of ICP's overnight success after the infamous "Disney Scandal". With a wave of Milenko's wand, the Wicked Clowns were in the public eye, underdogs of the world who had their hard work pulled out from under them. Island Records made the big save, and they were fully behind Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope. One such way of doing this was by buying out a dedicated timeslot on MTV to play whatever they wanted, which meant airing a documentary dedicated to ICP and the Juggalos. A video tape (and later on, DVD release) of this meant that new and old Juggalos could experience this whenever they wanted, and so we're doing that here! Way back in 1977 Elvis Costello released his debut album. 13 years later, I was born. 20-something years later I was introduced to said album and determined it was one of the greatest things I'd ever heard, from a songwriting, compositional, really every standpoint. Does Mike have an appreciation for this kind of old-fashioned rock and roll? Does it baffle him as a temporal anomaly, existing across many generations of genres while sounding clean as heck? Will he be able to analyze at least one song that is plainly just about bangin'? On Halloween in the year of our Lord 2000, an artist named Poe released a sort of companion piece to a novel released in March of the same year. At the same time, it was a tribute to her father who had recently passed, and a way to explore the grieving process of a complicated relationship. In that spirit, we also discuss the complicated relationship between listeners and artists, artists and labels, there's a lot to cover here. Was Poe ahead of her time? Does her eccentric taste make for a unique sound still not heard today? Is this 18 track album a form of retribution for the other 11 months of the year? Around the Riddle Box era, ICP and a bunch of friends and Psychopathic Records employees did a gimmick supergroup that was basically Rydas before Rydas, but everyone had a gold name and had an incredibly limited time frame to write their lyrics and only 1 take to lay those vocals down. Eagle-eared listeners will remember way back when we discussed Forgotten Freshness Vol. 2 that we really dug the track "Dog Beats" towards the end. It was fun to hear something that was almost entirely different than what we'd heard from Violent J & Shaggy 2 Dope up to that point. But why leave that as some freshness meant to be forgotten? Pre-clowny Joe & Joey was a welcome treat to hear at that time, so surely an entire EP of that would be just as fun, right? (Clearly Schmeev has been enjoying this entire "shit we missed" journey, if you haven't noticed). So continuing this fun little romp through the early years, we had to hit up this CD as well. For being another Violent J-heavy project, have his skills improved significantly since Bass-Ment Cuts? Does J have a weird obsession with The Wizard Of Oz? And why did they feel compelled to add an alleged Carnival Of Carnage B-side on this 2020 re-release? On "Down With The Clown", Shaggy 2 Dope declares that "this one goes out to the ninjas that's been down since Carnival Of Carnage". He proceeds to correct himself by then saying it's for those who have been down since Dog Beats. And then he mentions some other random album before Dog Beats, stating it's for the people who allegedly started listen upon THAT album's release. Well, we decided to continue our trip to the past and search for that hallowed record. Violent J, still pursuing fame as a gangsta rap artist, would press on with honing his lyrical abilities as a member of Inner City Posse. Does this record show more flashes of early greatness? It's insane to think of everything we've been able to talk about on this show and all the people who have taken time out of their busy schedules to listen to 2 dorks who have taken time out of their busy schedules to sit down, listen to, and analyze music of the Juggalo variety. Over that time, Mike has made it a point that we only cover the albums he has purchased, and because of that, there's been some stuff that he's missed. As time has gone on, he's been able to acquire more albums, including some that we already passed up. So we thought it was a good time to go back in time to cover the shit we missed! Up first, we have the first official ICP record, back when it was Inner City Posse comprised of Violent J and D-Lyrical flexing their skills with a karaoke machine. But an episode so monumental could not be tackled by just your lovable duo, so we enlisted the help of Aaron and Erik of ICP With We to join in on the fun! Does Violent J show flashes of greatness so early in his career? Should D-Lyrical have been more present here? And is Violent J ACTUALLY the mack? We find out the answers to these questions and more today as we dive headfirst into some schooling and fighting, or rather... Mike's usual weekly segment is once again hijacked as Schmeev decides to listen to the entirety of Yum Yum Bedlam on release and give his thoughts track by track. These aren't just initial thoughts, they are the same types of notes taken for a regular release, just without a second person to bounce conversation off of, so it runs much shorter. So go ahead and listen to my journey through the 5th Jokers Card, or go get your own listens first, I'm not gonna tell you how to live your life.   Hit us up on our socials here: https://linktr.ee/JuggaloJudgment, or get at one of us directly on Twitter @MikeSpohnTheSEJ and @Schmeev, OR hit up Mike on Instagram @StraightEdgeJuggalo. In 2007, Twiztid decided it was time to make some big plays. Similar to The Green Book, they would "play the industry card" and secure guests for their next album, but rather than try and get super massive guests that everyone knew of, this time, they would showcase the underground. The JJ Boyz decided to do the same thing, and we secured our OWN guest, ending the (fake) beef with the one and only Robbie, better known as TwiztidHistory. Who has the guest spot on this record? Does Twiztid's first time working with Seven on a number of tracks set the tone for the future? If the Weak Shit was Out in 2007, why do some people think it's what Twiztid is doing in 2021 (not Mike, he fucking lives for the new shit)? Find out the answers to these and more. Get your grill ready and crack open a cold one with the boys, for today we celebrate... Independents Day.    Major thanks to Robbie for joining us on this episode. We had a blast chatting and look forward to having him on again in the future. Show him props on his awesome Instagram page @TwiztidHistory!   Hit us up on our socials here: https://linktr.ee/JuggaloJudgment, or get at one of us directly on Twitter @MikeSpohnTheSEJ and @Schmeev, OR hit up Mike on Instagram @StraightEdgeJuggalo.
