Roaming St. Louis the week before Veterans Day led KMOX host Scott Jagow to the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum in downtown St. Louis. The museum was opened after World War I as a memorial to that war and it remained in subpar condition for many decades. Then in 2018, it was refurbished and today it's one of the city's gems. Scott chats with the museum's director Mark Sundlov and docent Lon Zimmerman about some of the St. Louisans who served and sacrificed in America's conflicts, the prized artifacts inside the exhibits and more.
Members of Gold Star Families, or families that have lost an immediate family member in active duty, hold Memorial Day in high regards as they honor their loved ones, even those whose true fate remains a mystery.
