Several guide dogs and their handlers have been attacked by roaming or out control dogs in the four weeks. Blind Low Vision New Zeaand says there are parts of South Auckland where they're no longer placing guide dogs because of the risk of attacks. Blind Low Vision NZ chief executive Andrea Midgen spoke to Lisa Owen about how uncontrolled dogs mean some people are missing out on guide dogs.

Zu den Kostenfallen beim Roaming gehören auch Rufumleitungen zur Mailbox, wenn man im Ausland unterwegs ist. Die Funktion „bedingte“ oder „absolute“ Rufumleitung zur Mailbox bestimmt dabei, ob Ihnen Kosten entstehen, erfährt man beispielsweise bei der Verbraucherzentrale Niedersachsen.  Während bei der absoluten Rufumleitung alle eingehenden Anrufe kostenfrei auf die Mailbox umgeleitet werden, auch wenn das Handy eingeschaltet und empfangsbereit ist, wird bei der „bedingten“ Rufumleitung der Anruf nur dann auf die Mailbox weitergeleitet, wenn niemand abhebt, das Handy besetzt ist, ausgeschaltet ist oder nicht im Netz eingebucht ist. Und hier lauert die Kostenfalle, die im außereuropäischen Ausland schnell ein großes Loch in die Urlaubskasse reißen kann. Denn wenn man sich im Nicht-EU-Ausland aufhält, zahlt man als Angerufener gleich mehrfach. Für die Weiterleitung des Anrufs ins ausländische Netz, für die Umleitung zurück auf die deutsche Mailbox und schließlich für das Abhören der Mailbox. Da können schnell einige Euro pro Minute anfallen. Was tun?   Schalten Sie bei einer Reise ins nichteuropäische -Ausland Ihr Handy bereits in Deutschland aus oder stellen Sie noch hierzulande die „absolute“ Rufumleitung ein. Doch hier lauert eine neue Falle, die ich nur durch Zufall entdeckt habe. Bei den meisten deutschen Anbietern lassen sich durch den Code ##002# alle Rufumleitungen deaktivieren. Zumindest theoretisch. Wir haben allerdings bei einem Gerät, das mit einer SIM-Karte von BLAU betrieben wurde, eine merkwürdige Feststellung gemacht. Die Mobilbox sprang, trotz der Code-Eingabe und einer Bestätigung auf dem Display, weiterhin an. Eine Nachfrage bei der zu Telefonica gehörenden Pressestelle mit Hinweis auf diese Fehlfunktion wurde nach 6 Tagen durch den Service mit dem Hinweis beantwortet, man müsse nur ##002# wählen. Dazu muss man nichts mehr sagen! Der entscheidende Tipp kam übrigens von T-Mobile. Es lag am Gerät. Apple hat kürzlich die Funktion Live-Voicemail bei iPhones aktiviert, die nur im Gerät, aber nicht mit dem Code abschaltbar ist. Wieso man das bei BLAU nicht wusste, ist mir ein Rätsel. Sometimes I need to get back to my Musical Roots and that means, CLASSICAL MUSIC BABY!!!! I absolutely LOVE this number by the Russia Composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. He was inspired to write this excellent piece of music by reading the "Arabian Knight Stories", you know Sinbad, yeah those stories. Scheherazade is the name of a young princess who was a story teller and the King had a habit of killing storytellers when they finished the stories. Scheherazade would never end a story and would infuse one story into the next so nothing ever ended. The King, meanwhile fell in love with her and married her, so the story goes. This piece of work was made into a fantastic ballet to express the story. Enjoy the Music, I know it's not for everyone but you never know until you taste it. Sugarlands Distilling Company is nestled in the foothills of Gatlinburg, TN. Even though they are a company that originally focused on moonshine, they have been getting noticed for their unique rye whiskey. Roaming Man is a cask-strength pot distilled rye whiskey, made from locally sourced grains and crafted in the largest copper pot still in the United States. Even though the first release of roaming man was in 2017, we had never heard of this company until our good friend Hector sent us some bottles.
