Aneirin Glyn - Who is the one true God? How can we know? How should we respond to him? The showdown on Mount Carmel provides conclusive answers.
Luke Cornelius - This sermon explores the scandalous mercy of God in 1 Kings 18, where the living God proves himself on Mount Carmel and turns Israel's heart back from idolatry. Even after leading the nation into deep compromise, Ahab is not crushed but shown astonishing mercy as judgment falls on a substitute and rain returns to the land. The miracle exposes the emptiness of false gods and points forward to the gospel, where God's mercy triumphs over human failure.

Michael Phelps BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Michael Phelps has been making headlines again, starting with a major TV moment as Swimming World confirms he's set to appear as a guest on ESPN's Monday Night Football ManningCast tonight, September 22, 2025, joining Peyton and Eli Manning for what promises to be a high-profile crossover between Olympic greatness and the NFL. This appearance, also highlighted by Awful Announcing on Threads, is being spotlighted in pre-show promotions and may generate substantial buzz, given Phelps' rare forays into live sports commentary. On the business front, Phelps' entrepreneurial and investment activities are gaining long-term relevance. According to the newsletter Idée Fixe, he's now not just a legendary swimmer but a noteworthy athlete-investor, joining the likes of Coco Gauff and Giannis Antetokounmpo as a key early backer and governance influencer for Unrivalled, a new women's 3x3 basketball league. His role goes beyond financial input; he's helping shape league governance and player equity, a powerful signal of how he's leveraging his status to expand influence in shaping the future of women's sports and athlete-driven entrepreneurship.Meanwhile, The Skills sports education platform, which counts Phelps among its featured Olympians, just closed a 5 million dollar seed round as reported on dot.LA. Phelps has contributed his own masterclass series on the platform, focusing on the mental strategies and leadership lessons from his record-setting swimming career. The Skills' model of democratizing world-class athlete knowledge positions Phelps as both a mentor and a sports business innovator, with projected expansion into new sports and broader educational impact. On the social media circuit, Phelps continues to be a ubiquitous pop-culture reference—his name trended last week on Threads where users playfully compared freestyling in music to his signature stroke in the pool, a testament to how deeply his legacy still resonates among diverse audiences. No new personal controversies or unconfirmed rumors have surfaced, and he is maintaining his reputation as a champion both in and out of the water. Phelps remains the only person in history with 23 Olympic gold medals, as recently reiterated by AOL in a retrospective piece on his enduring legacy, underscoring that even years after his last swim, his biographical significance continues to crescendo.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI
Michael Phelps BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Fresh headlines and social media chatter over the past week have once again placed Michael Phelps squarely in the public eye, not for a record-breaking swim but for yet another blend of mentorship, business innovation, and enduring impact. Michael Phelps answered a unique call from Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, who posted a widely shared video on social media with teammates asking for swimming lessons. Not one to turn down the chance to promote water safety, the Olympic legend publicly accepted via Instagram, confirming he'll be visiting Ravens training camp and helping players learn to swim in their new recovery pool. Local tie-ins always amplify his appearances, especially in Baltimore, where Phelps is beloved not just for his Olympic feats but also for his rooting interest in the Ravens and his steady involvement at home games. Answering that call fits the mission of the Michael Phelps Foundation, which has made water-safety education a top post-career priority, directly addressing the startling statistic the Ravens cited that one in three players can't swim, while also earning praise for real community impact as reported by Yahoo Sports.Business-wise, Phelps remains in the financial press as a headline case study in post-athletic reinvention. The newsletter Idée Fixe just highlighted Phelps as an early investor in Unrivalled, a new women's 3x3 basketball league, alongside stars like Coco Gauff and Alex Morgan. This move was showcased as part of a growing trend of world-class athletes using their capital and brand to influence not just sponsorship but the governance and direction of sports infrastructure and media. Phelps' involvement in sports investment and tech platforms like Swim.com, as well as his prominent partnership with Under Armour, continue to set new standards for retired athletes turning their fame into equity and business leadership. As explored in recent business roundups, these active ventures—and his ongoing endorsements—keep him at the front edge of what some call the golden age of athlete-investor entrepreneurship.Social media still regularly references Phelps as the archetype for athlete mental health advocacy, a space where he remains visible. His engagement with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America—a major nonprofit event in Los Angeles this week honored him as a past spokesperson and highlighted his role as a role model for today's youth leaders—keeps the family man and mental health champion squarely in the public sphere, per organizational press releases. From mentoring NFL stars who can't swim to shaping the business side of pro sports and serving as a perennial inspiration at nonprofit galas, the Phelps orbit continues expanding. Each of these moments speaks to a legacy evolving in real time—underscored by a week of positive press, strategic investment headlines, and viral social touches that keep his influence as unsinkable as ever.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI
