The Indiana Pacers shocked a lot of people last season! From their run to the championship game of the inaugural In-Season Tournament to an appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals. What can we expect from them this year? Alex Golden of the Setting The Pace podcast stops by to let us know!  Alex breaks down everything that fell in place last season to allow for such a huge improvement from the previous year. He also talks about the role Tyrese Haliburton bursting onto the scene played in that and how much more Hali can improve moving forward. Has he recovered from the injuries that affected him in the playoffs and will his experience with Team USA help propel him to a new level? From there, we look at what held them back from succeeding even more last year. We know Indiana puts up a ton of points, but they gave up a lot in return. How much of that was scheme and personnel versus effort? How good do they need to be on that end of the court to succeed? And what is Alex hearing from Rick Carlisle's crew about their plans to improve this season? Alex also tells us what to expect from the Pacers rotation this year. They have a lot of young talent and depth, particularly on the wing. How does Coach Carlisle plan to balance development versus winning? And what is it about Jarace Walker, Aaron Nesmith, and Ben Sheppard in particular that has Alex excited about their futures? We finish up with Alex's predictions for this season. What does a successful season look like for Indiana? Who should be the #1 option between Tyrese and Pascal Siakim? Listen in as Ben joins his first podcast to discuss a number of topics. The guys get the podcast going discussing the NFL season starting back and talk about the first ever Friday game in Brazil which leads to Ben sharing the news that he will be playing a game in France against the Spurs this upcoming season.  From there they dive into Ben's upbringing and his love of sports from an early age. Ben details how growing up he played all sports before really focusing in on basketball later on during high school. From there they touch on his high school playing days which leads to Ben going into detail about the "NBA Dream." They also discuss what it was like on draft day with Ben talking about everything that happened leading up the biggest night of his life. He talks about working out for several teams thinking one of those would pick him but it was the Indiana Pacers who had no contact leading up to the draft that made him their selection. Ben goes on to talk about his first practice with the team, the players he idolized growing up and getting to play against, the Caitlin Clark hype and how he can't wait to attend one of her games, and the different arenas he's played in so far and how special it is to be able to be on the court of The Garden where he would always go to games during the holiday season as a kid.
