It's Bill Belichicks World...we just live in it. Some blokes from the UK discuss and review all things NFL
We look back at the NFL Draft for 2025, as one of the more interesting ones in recent memory. With only a few stars, but plenty of needy teams, how did the teams attack it?Cam Ward is the least talked about No. 1 pick since Travon Walker, but what can we expectIs Shedeur slipping the main storyWho improved a lot?Who whiffed? We talk the winners and losers in the immediate aftermath of the Draft, who still has work to do, and also Kittle's new deal with the 49ers.
It's that time of the year, and this year, we go beyond the first round, and we mock Rounds 1 and 2. Who will reach?Who will bag a bargain?Who can pick a trade?Who will not look at the list and end up having to pick 6 teams straight? How many QBs will go?Which players will drop, because we don't rate them, or because we forgot about? It's our favourite show of the year, where we don't predict the Draft, but give an inkling of what we'd do if we were in the position to be the GMs.
There is now two weeks until the Draft, and we look at who might be top prospects going in the first round, and who are our guys we think might be hidden gems.Firstly though we discuss Geno's new deal, Trey McBridge resetting the Tight End market, get distracted by Griff hating on Kyler, and the retirement of Julio Jones
Russell Wilson is the new Giants QB, but so is Jameis Winston. Neither of these are Daniel Jones, so one of the group is happy, but is better than Danny Dimes, a reasonable expectation, or just another low? What next for Aaron Rodgers? The Draft is now only a month away, who are top prospects, and we then find out who we'll be drafting in our Mock Draft just before the big day.
We go through every team, who are the headline in and outs, who has made a strong start to Free Agency, who is waiting for the next wave of moves, and whatever the Cowboys are doing. This is a bit longer than usual, but we wanted to cover every team.
The Eagles are your Super Bowl Champions for 2025, who dismantle the Chiefs, and leave Mahomes humbled. What were the key factors in the win?Aaron Rodgers is being let go by the Jets, is this it, or where does he end up next season?Deebo is being traded by the San Francisco 49ers, or should we say, Deebo is being released by the 49ers. We look into the Hall of Fame, as nothing for some Giants fans to be upset about here surely?
You've probably realised it's Super Bowl week, so we look at who might win, how they might win, along with trying to muster up some enthusiasm for a match up that is not igniting our interest just yet. Myles Garrett wants a trade, and we discuss why the Mavs trading Luka Doncic in the NBA, may have repercussions for the NFL. The Hall of Good moves on to teams that lost the Super Bowl.
The Bills just don't come away from Arrowhead with a win in the Playoffs, and this was close, but whether the referees were the determining factor, or your Conspiracy Theory of choice, the Chiefs have a change of going 3-in-a-row. The Eagles return to the Super Bowl after whatever that was last year, with a large win over Washington. Are they the best balanced team in the league? We also do Hall of Good, with free reign.
The best weekend of the season is here, and this year did not disappoint, with the Chiefs winning against a stout Texans defence, and producing much talk about Referee decisions. Elsewhere Commanders produce the shock of the round, beating the heavily fancied Lions Eagles can thank Saquon for another performance against the Rams Bills and Ravens is a game of short margins We also look into the coaching carousel, as Bears finally get their man, Jags lose their GM a bit too late, whilst what do the Raiders, Cowboys, Jags and Saints do now? Tight End is up for consideration on the Hall of Good
Wildcard Weekend might not have had the clashes we hoped for, but it was still an interesting slate of games, with Rams and Texans defence setting up wins against fancied opponents, whilst making the lives of the opposition QBs an absolute nightmare. All games considered, including: Bills make easy work of the Broncos Ravens also don't have to do much to beat Steelers Daniels is a star as Commanders win it late Eagles defence is stellar The Head Coach carousel continues, with Vrabel announced, and what the hell is happening in Dallas? The Hall of Good continues, with us revisiting the Wide Receivers.
Lions beat Vikings to take the NFC North and the NFC No.1 seed. The Lions defence make Darnold's game miserable, and leave you wondering why Dan Campbell isn't more of a lock for Coach of the Year. Elsewhere: Broncos beat some people in Chiefs uniforms Bengals come up short Chargers move up the seeding Titans get the No.1 pick All games covered, no matter how inconsequential We also cover all the Head Coach firings, wonder if more positions might be come available, and look ahead at the Super Wildcard Weekend. All this, plus the usual Biggest Balls, Sweetest Play, and Paul has the hard choice of picking a Play for Hall of Good.
Week 17 was a mad and long week, with the Christmas games almost a week ago, but we start there, as the Chiefs make short work of the Steelers, whilst the Ravens are barely bothered by the Texans. Elsewhere The Chargers sew up a Playoff spot Vikings - Packers is another classic game from the NFC North Lions keep control of the NFC with a win over the 49ers The Giants beat the Colts who can't stop having WTF moments to end the season Buccs keep control of the NFC South, do they have enough to beat the Falcons to the final slot? Who will make the playoffs from the AFC, Broncos have their fate in their hands, but Dolphins and Bengals are there if the mess up? We then look at the coaches who will not be in a job next week, Bears, Jets and Saints already have positions up for grabs, but who else will join them? Doug Pederson is bookies favourite, but what about Daboll, Mayo, Stefanski, McCarthy and the other coaches of struggling teams?
Week 16 is in the books, and we start with a Commander win over a Hurts-less Eagles, but it was a great week including Chiefs outdo the Texans, who lose Dell Bills do enough to beat Patriots Lions make very easy work of the Bears Vikings are keeping up the chase Cardinals lose at Panthers and are out the Playoffs Falcons lead the chase for NFC South Chargers beat the Broncos All game covered, plus our usual Sweetest Play of the Week
Week 15 is in the books, and the Bills continue to be involved in Game of the Season contenders, this time against the Lions, who unfortunately ramp up the amount of injuries on defence. Elsewhere Titans v Bengals is glorious nonsense Lamar is great, but it was against the Giants Eagles look impressive Vikings continue the fight for the 1 seed in NFC Packers look great Broncos aren't punished for a sloppy Nix game by Colts How were the Commanders forced into a game by the Saints Davante Adams reminds us all he's still got it All games and teams covered, and we also mention Bill Belichick returning to football, this time College at UNC, plus Griff has the unenviable task of selecting a tough set of QBs for the latest round of Hall of Good
What can you say about that Rams v Bills game, it was a game where Josh Allen lost, but somehow cemented his MVP case. Puka Nakua on the other hand gave us a reminder of what the Rams have been missing this season. Elsewhere: Eagles struggle to a win Chiefs struggle to a win....again Cousins struggles against the Vikings Lions win the battle of the North Bears do not get an Interim Coach bounce Do we have to talk about the Giants Do we also have to talk about the Raiders Come on, do we have to mention the Jags vs Titans? All games covered, plus our usual awards for Sweetest Play, Sourest Play and a new award for the Kadarious Toney Clown of the Week award.
Week 13 is in the books, and Thanksgiving always feels like a long week (who remembers the Giants-Cowboys already) is bookended by a mad gaffe costing the Bears Head Coach his job, and then the Browns and Broncos in a mad game for Monday Night Football Inbetween: The Jets throw away a lead against Seattle The Chiefs do enough to win against bad opposition...again Vikings do the same Panthers lose, but there is a bit more hope in the building right now Josh Allen for MVP, as the Bills win in the snow Saquon for MVP, as the Eagles beat the Ravens All this, plus every other game, our Power Rankings as the Playoff push hots up, and the Hall of Good is a Pot Luck entry.
Week 12 is in the books, and just how do you describe what happened in the last few minutes of the Dallas - Washington game? It was glorious nonsense. Elsewhere: Ravens win the Harbaugh-Bowl Saquon for MVP? Texans are disappointing despite a 7-5 record Things are improving for Chicago, except results Giants...well it just all sucks 49ers....this also sucks but with a couple more wins Dolphins are back We also discuss our Sweetest Play, Sourest Play and its the turn of Coaches for Hall of Good
Week 11 is now in the books, and the Chiefs finally have a mark in the loss column, as the Bills show great form and enough to beat the current Super Bowl champions Elsewhere Lions look imperious again vs hapless Jags Broncos looking in great form right now Richardson comes back with good performance against Jets Joe Douglas is out as GM in New York Chargers beat Bengals in great game with two great QBs Steelers beat Ravens in tight game All games covered, plus we look at the implications for fans as NFL comes to Netflix after the Paul-Tyson fight, plus who is leading the MVP race, and what if it didn't have to be a QB? Also our standard Sweetest/Sourest Play of the week
Week 10 is in the record books, and death, taxes and the Chiefs sneak a win continue to be inevitabilities of life. Elsewhere: Ravens and Bengals might be most entertaining game of the season so far Cowboys would benefit if their Receivers could see the ball Bears fire their OC Lions win despite doing their utmost not to Poor Germany, they do get some dross All games covered, plus we Power Rank QBs, to much difference of opinion, but we can see the Elite and a stinker from a mile off. All this, plus its time for Safety in the Hall of Good
Week 9 is in the books and the rear view mirror, and the Saints need a new Head Coach, after Dennis Allen is fired following a humbling defeat to Carolina. Elsewhere, all games covered, but in particular Chiefs remain undefeated Ravens thrash the Broncos Bills beat Dolphins at the end Lions win without a roof Maye improvises with the best of them, but still comes up short at Titans The biggest trades of the deadline are discussed, along with Mingo being traded to the Cowboys. We also have our sweetest and sourest plays of the week, and we put an Edge Rusher in the Hall of Good.
Week 8 is in the books, and we discuss all the games of the week, including: Jets lose to a Pats team without their Starting QB Bills are great against the Seahawks Lions might be the stand out team in the league at the moment Chiefs are 7-0 despite not blowing anyone away Are the Eagles finally starting to click Are the Bengals playoff hopes over? The Ravens have their customary occasional stumble against a poor team That Hail Mary was pretty special/funny wasn't it? We discuss our usual Sweetest Play of the Week, the Biggest Balls of the Week gets a make over, and it's Cornerback turn for our Hall of Good nominations.
Week 7 is in the books, and we start with the Jaguars winning their customary game at Wembley, where a few of us went to watch. Elsewhere: Lions beat Vikings in a classic game Packers beat the Texans in a game that promised much, but didn't live up to expectations. Broncos continue to improve Jets changes haven't really brought much improvement Eagles aren't great, but Saquon is Griff gets to talk about Marcus Mariota Our customary awards, for Sweetest Play of the Week, and it's the Wide Receivers turn for nominating for Hall of Good, and there are some great nominations
Week 6 is in the books and we had the second London game, where Jacksonville barely turned up, and Bears look great. Elsewhere in the league Jets get a Hail Mary, but not enough to beat Bills Davante Adams gets out of Las Vegas Buccs games continue to be fun Ravens are in imperious form Cowboys are bad, like, really bad Browns are bad, like really really bad Cooper gets out of Cleveland All games covered, including our Sweetest Play of the Week, and the Hall of Good takes in the results of Offensive Linemen and we nominate Line Backers
Week 5 is now in the books, and we had the first of our London games, where the Vikings do enough to beat the Jets, and by Tuesday Robert Saleh is escorted out of the Jets. Elsewhere Ravens come back to beat Bengals in a great game Falcons ball out in Thursday Night Football Giants continue to sack everybody Niners lose again Jags finally get a win We also discuss the London games, our Sweetest Play of the Week, and look to induct some O-Linemen into the Hall of Good
Week 4 is in the books now, and the Chiefs and Vikings remain undefeated, but everyone behind them looks as open and confused. Elsewhere Ravens carry on running Bengals find some form Jaguars fail to find any form Koo at the death Johnny talks too much about the Giants again It also out Power Rankings time, who is near the top, who is trailing, and who is causing us most confusion?
We got through all the week 3 games, where somehow the Steelers and Seahawks are 3-0, whilst the Bengals are also 0-3. Is this a true reflection of performances so far? Elsewhere Cowboys look lost against the Ravens Bills look imperious Dalton had a day for the Panthers Nabers is legit Eagles tight win The Darnold resurgance and Flores masterclass Biggest Balls and Sweetest Plays of the Week, whilst the Hall of Good takes in Tight Ends
Time to look at Week 2, and there are upsets and more questions than answers Are the Saints legit? Are the Ravens bad? What to make of the Bengals Is this a blip for the Cowboys? Who is to blame for Jaguars? All games are covered, and we also talk Do we see an increase in the Guardian Cap? What to do about draft misses Sweetest Play of the week and our usual awards Hall of Good time, we find out who is going in for the QBs, and we nominate our RBs for Griff to mull over
We're all glad to see the season back, but who has had a good start, and who is still acting like this is still pre-season? Ravens are a toe away from OT Eagles and Packers in Brazil Oh Daniel Jones Jaguars are very Jags Oh Will Levis Chicago defence turns up Oh Bryce Young We also discuss Dak's contract, winners and losers of week 1, and we start the discussions for the Hall of Good.
We go through the NFC, team by team, and try to establish who can make the Playoffs, and who is looking at a year of despair? Can the Eagles recover for this season, and what to make of the Cowboys? The Lions and Packers look strong, but can the Bears catch up? Is anybody in the South going to take the intiative? Can anyone catch the 49ers? We also predict who our Super Bowl winners and runner ups are going to be, along with MVP and other picks for the season
We go over each team in the AFC, what are the strengths, weaknesses and who is looking at the Playoffs? Can Kansas City do the threepeat? Can the Texans continue to build? Is the AFC North the best division in football? Can the Dolphins take the East? At the same time Johnny is also taking part in the first of his Fantasy Draft, who can he get?
Justin Simmons gets signed by the Falcons, who also sign Judon. Who else is getting signed, and who is coming back from injury, and teams are starting to announce QBs We get into who needs a big year, either because of contracts, reputation, or just a future in the league. We then start looking at Fantasy, and who are the first round certainties, who may drop, and what are you looking for in a QB?
Preseason has started, and it's hard to make too much out of it, but Caleb Williams looks good JJ McCarthy also looked good, but is now out for the season Bo Nix has a decent start Joe Milton looks fun What do we make of the Dallas off-season, and should they have signed Dak Prescott to an extension, or is it time to move on?
We're starting to come back, so we go over the news and then discuss QB Battles for the upcoming season News includes: New deal for Jordan Love New slightly smaller deal for Tua Tyreek Hill gets paid Who is holding out? Who is holding in? We then discuss Criminality committed by NFL people over the off-season, and who is going to win out the various QB battles through the league?
After a summer off to watch football, and not think about Football, most of us are back around a table to talk about what has happened over the off-season. The deaths of Jacoby Jones and Khyree Jackson Jordan Addison is a menace at the wheel Is anyone at the Chiefs not going to get arrested? Aiyuk requested a trade NFL found guilty in anti-trust lawsuit and fined a mere $14bn We look at who is still not signed, and because Griff is here, we discuss Rookie QBs
Life has got a bit in the way, so we're a bit late in looking back at the draft. Before that though, some Wide Receivers got signed, including Odell Beckham Jr to the Dolphins. We look at the draft, some look like slam dunks, others look more confusing, we go through the first round and who has looks like they've missed an opportunity, and who had a smart pick fall into their laps. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
It's that time of the year, when we don our GM hats, and we don't predict the Draft, but say what we would do if we were the GMs for the night, so expect Paul to reach John to forget someone obvious Gary to say how great he picked Jim to pick loads of Tackles Griff to get every pronunciation wrong Who goes first? Who makes trades? Who will fail to live up to the expectation? It's our favourite show of the year, so lets open the draft and get picking! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
We start with the news, which is depressing as we go from the death of OJ Simpson, Rashee Rice's troubles with the law, Terrell Suggs &T'Vone Sweat's DWI arrest. After this though we go around the league and talk about what has changed, going through each team by division. Who are the major signings, who have they lost, and what do they need in the Draft next week? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
We're back! After an off-season for us that involved relaxation, hair cuts, plenty of work and a back surgery, we return to start discussing what has gone on in Off Season. Before we started though news came through that Steffon Diggs is off to the Texans for a 2025 2nd round pick. We remember Vontae Davis, and discuss future Hall of Famers Aaron Donald, Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox who have retired. L'Jarious Snead is traded to the Titans, Brian Burns is off to the Giants. Kirk Cousins is on the move to Atlanta, as the biggest signing in the Off Season. We also look forward to the Draft, and look at who we can be expecting to be drafted in the first round. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
The Chiefs repeat in the Super Bowl, and in OT Mecole Hardman catches the winning TD to bring home the biggest prize in NFL. What was the difference between the two teams, and what were the key plays in this tightly fought match up? What do the 49ers need to do for Shanahan to break his duck, and take home the Lombardi Trophy? We take a look back at the team this year, and rather than our usual letter grade, we use the Peri-O-meter to judge how well every team did. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
It's the best weekend of the year, it's the biggest game in American Football, and this year it's the Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers. What are the key match ups, and who are the key players on both sides? Dan Quinn is the Head Coach of the Washington Commanders, which has been met with mostly shrugs, but what does he need to do to get Washington where they want to be? It's also time for us to award our end of season awards, who is MVP, who is the Head Coach of the Year, and who has disappointed most? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
The Raven melt down at the worst possible moment, whilst the Chiefs just know how to win when the going gets tough. Elsewhere the Lions snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and would a more conservative game plan, and a bit more luck, have got them to the Super Bowl? Seahawks have their new Head Coach, and we go through most of the new hires, and what should they do in Washington? We then pick our All-Pro team, some consensus picks, some debate, but all the best players in this season. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
We now know who is going to be in the Championship games, and a great weekend of football leaves some teams showing their class, some their ability to win without playing great, and others looking forward to building for next year The Ravens make changes to make it look easy The 49ers do enough to beat a spirited Packers team who can continue to build Chiefs have the beating of Josh Allen and the Bills...again Lions season continues whilst the Buccs may be looking at a rebuild now We also discuss the teams that have made decisions on Head Coach appointments, and some that are still making them. The Co-ordinator merry go round also continues with plenty of changes through the league. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
The first round of the Playoffs is in the books, and for some teams, it means the end of the season but the start of the speculation. Owners of the Cowboys and Eagles looked annoyed with the performances on Sunday, and rightly so, so: Does this signal the end for McCarthy? Does this signal the end for Sirianni? Are the Buccs any good? Is Jordan Love better than last seasons Aaron Rodgers? Elsewhere What is with the dolphins after December? Are the Bills a freight train right now? CJ Stroud is elite Goff and Stafford are great in the only tight contest Step to far for the Browns and Steelers Belichick is let go by the Patriots, and interview the Falcons. We also look ahead to the Super Divisional Round, and the return of 49ers and Ravens to action. All this plus the usual Hottest Seat, MVP and Sweetest Play of the week. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
The Regular Season is now over, and for most teams the season ends here. For some people this means they will be looking for a new role Pete Carroll moved to an advisor role in Seattle Arthur Smith and Jameis Winston's role in his downfall Why is Mike Vrabel out of work? Anyone surprised by Ron leaving Washington? Time for Bill Belichick to move on? In terms of the playoffs, there were still slots to fill Jaguars grab defeat from jaws of victory Steelers grab the final slot Bills take the home game Buccs take the NFC South Packers make it to the post season Eagles limping All this plus the usual Plays and Players of the week --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
The season is almost finished, and whilst the Number 1 seeds are sewn up, for some of the teams it's down to the line. Bills or Dolphins for the 2 seed in the AFC? Bills can also miss the Playoffs Who will take the NFC South? What about the AFC South? Packers or Seahawks? Elsewhere we look at whose record is better, or worse, than their performances have indicated? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
Week 16 of the 2023 season, and the most in form Quarter Backs in the league are Lamar Jackson and Joe Flacco. Amari Cooper has a career game What is going on with the Chiefs? Not only are the Browns in the Playoffs, but so are the Lions! Eagles catch the 49ers in the NFC All this plus the usual Sweetest Play of the Week, Hottest Seat and MVP of the Week --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
Week 15 and Staley has finally gone. It was a performance against the Raiders that gets a coach fired, and the Chargers were happy to oblige. Elsewhere 49ers lead the way in NFC Eagles and Cowboys lose, but face battle for a home Playoff game Lions win and in Ravens are out in front in the AFC Chiefs and Dolphins lead the chasing pack for a bye week and having the Playoffs run through Hard Rock or Arrowhead instead Bills find form at just the right time Jags find the wrong time to lose form, whilst the Colts are chasing Who is looking at meaning January football and who can start planning for next season. All this, plus the usual Hottest Seat, Sweetest Play and MVP of the week --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
Week 14 is in the in the books, and much like the story of the season, we have the sublime and ridiculous! The 49ers are inevitable The Cowboys are no longer flat track bullies, they might be the second best team in the whole NFL Baltimore Ravens are not great, but they're still good, and they win the game of the weekend against the Los Angeles Rams We go back to 1934 and have a game where the Vikings win 3-0 somehow The Jets beat what is left of the Texans We also look at which coaches won't be on the same team next season, and which QBs will be reporting to another facility? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
Week 13 is in the books, and in the biggest game of the weekend, the 49ers are (eventually) imperious against the Eagles, who need help in the secondary. They have signed Shaq Leonard though, will that help? Elsewhere The Pats and Chargers game might be the worst of the season Seahawks against the Cowboys might be one of the best Packers are in form at just the right time The Saints are out of form at just the wrong time Lions are great, but also pretty bad All this plus the Sweetest Play of the Week, Hottest Seat and Ballsiest Play --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
Week 12 is in the books. Frank Reich is gone from Carolina, who are putting up a strong case to be the basket case team in the NFL. Paying two Head Coaches who don't coach you anymore, maybe it's not that big a thing when you're worth $20billion, but it's not sensible. Thanksgiving weekend games were...not that competitive, but it's fun to watch games at a usual time in the UK isn't it. The Eagles and Ravens lead their respective Conferences, but are not totally convincing. The Texand and Jags have a great game, the Giants and Patriots don't --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
Week 11 is in the books, and after last week, it was pretty entertaining. Sadly though, Joe Burrow is out for the season with a wrist injury, whilst Mark Andrews is out the Ravens. In Pittsburgh, Matt Canada is gone, whilst the Jets wait 8 weeks too late to drop Zach Wilson. The Eagles win a game of fine margins against the Chiefs, whilst the Lions keep on winning, and the Niners look good again. Shaq Leonard is released and the Chargers find a way to go full Chargersm beyond any sort of bad-Chargers energy than ever before. All this, plus we look --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-snap-uk/message
