It's our Seahawks Spotlight with JAKE BOBO!
Some big news to talk about this week to kick off the show as the Seahawks make an in-season trade for a linebacker from the Tennessee Titans. But it wasn't that long ago that Ernest Jones was playing for the division rival Los Angeles Rams. Now that two teams have moved on from Jones, is that an indictment on his play? Or were the Rams just averse to paying their former defensive captain because that is a position they historically don't give out big contracts to? We also dive into the Seattle Seahawks' dominant performance against the Atlanta Falcons, highlighting Kenneth Walker's "flu game" and the first-half dimes from Geno Smith. As the Seahawks worked to pull ahead in the second half, was the team too aggressive in trying to deliver a killshot to the Falcons? We explore some of the 3rd quarter strategy the seemed to throw the offense into neutral. With DK Metcalf potentially sidelined due to injury against the Bills, we talk about how Seattle's offense might adapt, with increased roles for players like Jake Bobo and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Will we start to see the team lean on their second best player more or will we try and see others deeper on the depth chart getting involved if DK needs a couple weeks of rest. In the second half of the show we talk about some of the dominance along the defensive line from Byron Murphy. Is he having the type of impact on the defensive line that is allowing the team to remain undefeated with him in the lineup? We go from scolding a perfect week of picks from one team last week to celebrating a perfect this week. Congratulations to Danish Meadhawks on a perfect week of picks. Tune in to hear why a group of scientists need to do better for growing old seeds along with an account on X that may be giving out too much information on one of our Seahawks. A legend of Seahawks media passed away this week and so we close the show honoring what he did for the team and for fans. NOTE: Nothing to censor in this week's show, so there won't be an UNCATFISHED version to release this week. Looking for more Seahawks shows? Salk says that was not a good game for the M's but in a gut check moment, they came through with a big win. Then, in Need to Know, he discusses the M's rally, Mike Macdonald's comments on the Seahawk's practice fights and DK Metcalf and expectations for Saturday's preseason game. Then, we revisit our conversations with Jake Bobo and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Yesterday the Seattle Seahawks had their annual team scrimmage at Lumen Field. The defense carried the day. The backup quarterbacks struggled. Jake Bobo continued to make plays. Fighting in training camp is not a big deal and Salk says he even likes to see it sometimes but yesterday seemed to cross the line with Jake Bobo getting punched by Tre Brown without his helmet on and DK hitting a teammate with a helmet. Then, Salk discusses Cal Raleigh's comments about the M's lacking energy the last couple of games and we go Around the NFL.
Fourteen strikeouts is bad but Salk says the quality of at bats and not being able to get the ball in play the way they have been was the bigger issue for the M's last night. Then, we talk with Seahawks WR Jake Bobo about having to prove himself to the new coaching staff, why he focuses so much on blocking and what happens at the line, pre-snap in Ryan Grubb's offense. Plus, we reveal the third most intriguing Seahawk on our countdown.

Updates on Gold Medal Olympians, Novak Djokovic and Scotty Scheffler, watching their emotional reactions. Mitch celebrates local sports achievements, notably Blake Snell's no-hitter and his and Tim Lincecum's unique baseball records. Hotshot expresses frustration with the rules preventing Piper from playing varsity sports immediately after her transfer, revealing plans to challenge these restrictions legally. Seahawks pregame; will Mitch's pent up excitement result in the proverbial pre-season flop? Mitch and Dave Grosby discuss the current state of Seattle sports, focusing on the Mariners' recent performance and the Seahawks' new era under Mike McDonald. Despite a strong starting rotation, Grosby expresses concerns about the Mariners' postseason prospects, suggesting organizational changes if the team fails to make the playoffs. Shifting to the Seahawks, Grosby shares his reluctance about preseason football but shows interest in the new coaching strategies and player adaptations. Mitch hosts the Seahawks no-table, featuring insights from ESPN's Brady Henderson and Hawk blogger Brian Nemhauser. Player spotlights include Jake Bobo's impressive catches and potential rise in the receiver ranks, and DK Metcalf's standout camp performance, suggesting a peak season ahead. Mitch discusses the Mariners' recent performance with Joe Doyle and Brady Farkas. The Mariners scored 57 runs in eight games, a significant increase from their previous performances, attributed partly to new additions like Randy Arozarena and Justin Turner. Joe praises the trade deadline moves, emphasizing their impact on reducing the team's strikeout rates and boosting offensive productivity. Brady highlights the Astros' recent slowdown, which has helped the Mariners keep pace in the division race despite occasional losses. The Other Stuff Segment dives deep into Olympic wins, and gender controversy. Laken Tomlinson, Seahawks G sits down with Ian to talk about joining the Seahawks and what it'll be like to have Seattle energy on his side, as opposed to what he's experienced at Lumen Field so far. He also maintains his dedication to becoming a doctor and building a hospital in Jamaica. He also gives us an inside look at Coach Huff and what he expects from his unit. Hugh Millen is live out here at Seahawks training camp and tells us the differences he's seeing so far under Mike Macdonald. The atmosphere isn't that different from an observer perspective, but he's extremely impressed with the new defensive scheme he's seeing - and that's what Hugh sees as the biggest change. Finally, his take on what the Mariners need to do right now.The difference between the Seahawks and the Mariners is that there is no complacency out here at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center. Nathan Bishop sent us some stats regarding Julio Rodriguez and Jesse Winker - and it makes us want to tear out our hair. The offense continues to be dismal and great pitching is still being wasted. What can we reasonably expect at the trade deadline? Ian wants to see them actually take a shot for once. The new kickoff rules are creating quite a lot of secrecy as we kick things off. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald spoke after practice yesterday and we take a listen to what he had to say at the beginning of his first Seattle training camp. Abe Lucas is still out Can what happens in the next five games change the future of the Mariners organization? Ian sees this next week is the most pivotal in franchise history? Corbin Smith, Locked on Seahawks joins Ian out at camp and it extremely impressed with Geno Smith's arm talent, and has been from the start. That was never in question, and he's clearly matured since his days in New York. From a comfort level, Corbin gives him 10/10. It also helps that he gets his entire receiving core back, which is extremely deep. Corbin gives Jake Bobo a 95% chance of making the roster and the guys discuss who might be on outside looking in. Of all the positions where we will see moves - whether it be through cuts or trades - corner will have the most talented players part ways.
Scott Servais has vowed that a turnaround is coming. Do we think it really is? :30- Jake Bobo (Seahawks WR) joins the guys at the VMAC :45- Young MacDoonald- we hear from new Seahawks Head Coach, Mike MacDonald about the excitement of his first training camp.
Jake Bobo, Seahawks Wide Receiver sits down with Ian to talk about his own experience last year compared to this one so far. He describes the Ryan Grubb offense and the learning curve in adjusting to it. Laken Tomlinson brings a lot of leadership in a short time to Seattle. Devon Witherspoon is extremely loud on the field, as quiet as he is off it. Ian gives his observations from watching practice this week. There's going to be some serious competition at wide receiver this year. The Mariners are in a great spot in their division right now, but there are reasons to be concerned. Injuries could derail them, and with Justin Hollander giving an injury update later today, it's a little nerve-wracking. Bobby Casper, Real Golf Radio joins Ian for a preview of the US Open this weekend. He gives us his predictions and who he expects to shine. Historical buildings just don't exist in sports anymore, especially here in Seattle considering the youth of the franchises. The Sounders are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their team and Ian recalls that it was his first real team to root for. Who's your first team? What's next for DK Metcalf? We hear from Tyler Lockett who joined Softy and Dick yesterday, as well Coach Macdonald with Chuck and Buck this morning. What does this tell us about where we could see him elevate this season? We also got to know Mike Macdonald as a coach and a person this morning - we take a listen.

The Seahawks were down three starting offensive linemen heading into Week 3 of the season and facing one of the league's most better pass rushers. The Seahawks made a couple of moves after teams cut their roster to 53 active players. What do the additions of linebacker Drake Thomas and cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly mean regarding the depth of the Seahawks roster? Jake Bobo also made the team and there's more to the story with his reported 4.9 40-yard-dash time. With the 2023 season kicking off this week, EJ Snyder of Bootleg Football joins the show to look ahead at Seattle's season. We look at four of the most intriguing matchups of the season for EJ and how those games will tell us a lot with how well this year's Seahawks team stacks up against some of the league's best. Jake Bobo did it! An undrafted wide receiver we were all rooting for actually pulled it off. But even though Bobo pulled through, there were some other cuts who we wanted to make the 53-man roster. Adam and Brandan go through the cuts, discuss which areas of the team have the strongest depth and which ones could still use some help as the Seahawks head into the regular season. Plus, with a few injuries, we could see some of our preseason favorites back on the 53 later on this week.
The Seahawks failed to go undefeated in the preseason, but the game against the Packers provided some fourth quarter excitement. Alex McGough got to have his revenge game. Drew Lock continued to shine with some nice throws. Tre Brown looks to have solidified a starting spot and Jake Bobo should be expected to make the roster.
Fueling a second quarter barrage that led to a 10-point halftime lead, Zach Charbonnet, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and several other rookies lit up the Cowboys via big play in the Seahawks 22-14 win at Lumen Field on Saturday night. Host Corbin Smith recaps Seattle's offensive onslaught featuring both drafted and undrafted rookies alike, including another big game for Jake Bobo, dishes out his weekly game balls on offense, defense, and special teams, and plays "3 Up, 3 Down" looking at which players helped their cause in the second preseason game and which ones could have done more to boost their stock.Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

The Seahawks started off their 2023 campaign with a win in Week 1 of the preseason. Drew Lock threw two touchdown passes to bring the team back from a 10-0 deficit and Holton Ahlers added an arm punt touchdown at the end of the game to help seal the win. We discuss some of the top players from the game on offense and defense, including some of the rookie performances we were most impressed with. Support the show Get in the Flock!
