Hour 1 The Knicks lost their season opener in a boring game against the Celtics. Gio is not going to overreact as the NBA season is long. It also seemed boring because we've been through some intense baseball playoff games recently so this felt like nothing. Boomer said the NBA needs to take away the 3-point shot because it makes the game boring and flat. Gio doesn't care about the Knicks game. Boomer said we're a sports talk station. Jerry is here for his first update but first we have audio of Morash saying Evan was out yesterday for going to Mets games and recording Rico Brogna podcasts. We never got to Jerry's update as we were deciding whether Evan got sick from going to Mets games and recording late night podcasts. Jerry returns for the final segment of the hour to do his update and he starts with the sounds of the Knicks losing in Boston. Aaron Rodgers was on with Pat McAfee and was asked about picking his nose and eating it on the sideline. Jerry Jones returned to Dallas radio and can't believe how often he's been asked about Derrick Henry. He called it a ‘get in your ass type of question'. Nestor Cortes would sacrifice an injury that will keep him out all next season if he can pitch in and win a World Series this year. Hour 2 The Chiefs are trading for WR DeAndre Hopkins. Boomer expects more moves to be made in the NFL before the deadline. Teams that are ‘cooked' are going to start trading guys. This got us talking about the Jets firing Rob Saleh. Boomer said not one player has said a bad thing about the guy. The Jets did not get any type of bump since making that move and the defense actually got worse. Boomer said if the Jets are 5-6 or better at the bye, they can still make the playoffs. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of Kevin Harlan as the Knicks lost in Boston. Aaron Rodgers said he needs to be a better example when it comes to energy. Rex Ryan was on the Pivot Podcast and talked about his love of feet. Positive Tommy is not leaving, he's not going anywhere now that the Mets season has come to an end. The Jets had a lot of issues last night in their loss to the Steelers. Rodgers threw a pick after it bounced off of Garrett Wilson's chest. Dexter Lawrence talked about Barkley running all over the Giants yesterday. Malik Nabers said, ‘watch the target tape, I was open'. In the final segment of the hour, we heard from a Yankees fan living in Houston and a caller who didn't like that Batman, Michael Keaton, was taking shots at the Jets before the game. And Joe Benigno went back to his greatest hits. Hour 3 The Mets didn't have huge expectations this year so the series loss to the Dodgers didn't make us feel bad about the season. We slayed the dragon known as the Atlanta Braves. We beat the Brewers, beat our enemies in Philadelphia. Gio doesn't want next year's expectations to ruin the season, but he's not sure if that's possible. The Dodgers hitters obliterated the Mets pitching in all the games the Dodgers won. We talked about the Dodgers bullpen vs the Cleveland bullpen. The Yankees are underdogs in this series for a reason. Callers are angry at Boomer for saying the Yankees had a ‘cake walk' to the World Series. Boomer said the Dodgers are the toughest team the Yankees will play, which is why they're favored. Gio is feeling a 24-20 Giants win. Boomer said the Eagles defense only has 2 turnovers, the lowest in the NFL. If the Giants can keep that going they can win this game. The Dodgers have seemed to figure out Francisco Lindor. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with Judge and Stanton going back to back to make it 4-3 Yankees with John Sterling on the call. Then the Guardians came back to tie it in the ninth and win it in the tenth and we heard the call from Guardians radio. We heard from Howie Rose as Mookie Betts hit a 2-run HR as the Dodgers are now up 3-1 on the Mets. The Broncos went into New Orleans and had no problem beating the Saints. In the final segment of the hour, Max Muncy is always on base for the Dodgers. Their relief pitching has been better and their top end stars have shown up for this series and the Mets' top end stars have not.
