Ep 1048 | Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson & Joe Burrow Could All Miss the NFL Playoffs

Fearless with Jason Whitlock

On this episode of “Fearless,” Jason Whitlock is joined by Seth Joyner to discuss the possibility that Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow could all miss the NFL playoffs. They also analyze the AFC's nightmare scenarios, with Drake Maye, Aaron Rodgers, Daniel Jones, and Bo Nix feasibly heading to the division playoffs and Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence, Davis Mills, and/or C.J. Stroud making the wild card. Whitlock and Joyner also cover A.J. Brown dodging a question about the dynamic between him and Jalen Hurts and hitting back at criticism against him by saying Saquon Barkley may not be performing to his potential either. They also talk about Shedeur Sanders becoming the NFL's new Colin Kaepernick and the league's biggest star. Whitlock notes Stephen A. Smith's hypocrisy in calling Drake Maye a liar for saying he isn't aware of Smith's show and Ryan Clark correcting Smith and defending Maye. Whitlock offers his Fearless Five football picks of the week and discusses the WNBA players' rejection of a new, much more lucrative salary plan. Coach J.B. joins the show to add his insights into the Josh Allen and AFC nightmare playoff scenario; what to expect from Shedeur Sanders starting this Sunday; whether the Houston Texans should stick with Davis Mills at the quarterback position; and Cam Newton saying the Patriots and Drake Maye are “fool's gold.” Another can't-miss show! Today's Sponsors: Center for Academic Faithfulness & Flourishing This is THE definitive guide to Christian higher education—and it's completely FREE. The New England Patriots are 9–2 and sitting at the top of our Real BK NFL Power Rankings heading into Week 12. Are they actually the best team in football. Dave Clarke and Bob Kelly are back in the chair to break down every tier of the league, from true Super Bowl contenders to teams that should already be thinking about the 2026 NFL Draft. In this episode of Missing the Point’s NFL Power Rankings show, the guys start with the top ten. The Patriots grab number one after another win, with Drake Maye playing like a top five quarterback and Mike Vrabel’s defense closing games. Right behind them, the Eagles, Rams, Colts, Broncos and Bills all jockey for position. Dave and Bobby argue over who is more dangerous in January. Josh Allen’s Bills, the balanced Rams, or the physical Lions who are trying to figure out JJ McCarthy. They then move to the NFC North and NFC wild card race. The Bears sit at 7–3 and slide into the top ten, but Dave is still stressed about Caleb Williams, late game heroics and a brutal schedule. The Lions, Seahawks and 49ers are all in the mix, while the Vikings feel like a team headed in the wrong direction with a struggling JJ McCarthy. On the AFC side, the guys hit every storyline you care about.• Patriots at 9–2, still rolling through the soft part of their schedule but proving they can win tight games.• Broncos at 9–2 with Bo Nix and a top defense, and whether that formula can hold up in the playoffs.• Colts and Rams sitting at 8–2 and looking like complete teams on both sides of the ball.• Chiefs stuck at 5–5, with Patrick Mahomes still terrifying but the rest of the roster holding them back.• Bills bouncing back behind a monster stretch from Josh Allen. They also go through the “cross off” list and possible cross offs. The Jets, Titans, Saints, Dolphins, Browns, Raiders, Cardinals and even the Jaguars are already gone. Dave and Bobby debate whether it is finally time to throw dirt on the Texans, Falcons, Vikings and Bengals. They talk Falcons coaching chaos after another Michael Penix Jr. knee injury, Justin Fields’ future as a backup, and why some franchises cannot get out of their own way. If you want an NFL show that combines real film watching, advanced numbers and fan level emotion, you will be right at home here. This is not a generic top ten graphic. This is an honest conversation about where every team in the league really stands in Week 12 and what it means for the playoff race. Drop your own Week 12 NFL power rankings in the comments. The NFL's WK11 action is in the books and the playoff picture is starting to take shape. Chris, Beau, Nate and the fellas breakdown the games from Sunday's slate and react to today's playoff standings. The jalen Hurts and AJ Brown overcame their offensive woes as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Detroit Lions. Jared Goff couldn't find a rhythm, Dan Campbell was stumped on 4th down and the Eagles defense dominated. The Buffalo Bills, led by a dominating performance from Josh Allen, got back to their winning ways with a victory over Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos stopped Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs offense in their tracks. And the offensive output that was expected from the Seattle Seahawks and LA Rams never came but Matthew Stafford still led his team to victory over Sam Darnold. A great Sunday of football that makes the playoff picture that much clearer (or muddier). It's the NFL week 11 previews. We've got a full house in Studio J to talk ball and have some fun. Chris, Beau, Macon, Nate and Nolan all rock and roll on the NFL's WK11 slate. We spend most of our time breaking down the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Detroit Lions. We also do deep dives into the Seattle Seahawks vs LA Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos. Sam Darnold and Matthew Stafford face off in a tight one that will have plenty of offensive action while Bo Nix and the Broncos hope for a miracle against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. We're breaking down all the action from Sunday's slate, including some instant classics and statement wins across the league. EAGLES DEFENSE SHUTS DOWN LIONS IN SNF - The Philadelphia Eagles' defense dominated the Detroit Lions in a 16-9 Sunday Night Football victory at Lincoln Financial Field, with the Eagles improving to 8-2 while Detroit fell to 6-4. Philadelphia's defense stopped the Lions on downs five times and allowed points on just two of Detroit's 12 drives, completely suffocating an offense that had scored 44 points the previous week. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense did just enough as Philadelphia continues its push for NFC supremacy. JOSH ALLEN MVP PERFORMANCE - Josh Allen put on an absolute clinic with six total touchdowns (three passing, three rushing) as the Buffalo Bills outlasted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 44-32 to improve to 7-3. Allen's historic performance solidifies his MVP candidacy as the Bills remain in contention for the AFC's top seed. BRONCOS UPSET CHIEFS IN THRILLER - The Denver Broncos extended their winning streak to eight games with a dramatic 22-19 walk-off field goal victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, taking firm control of the AFC West. Bo Nix and the Broncos defense proved they're legitimate playoff contenders with this statement win over the defending Super Bowl champions. MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PREVIEW: RAIDERS VS COWBOYS - We preview the Week 11 finale as the 2-7 Las Vegas Raiders host the 3-5-1 Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football at 8:15 PM ET on ESPN. Dallas enters with a revamped defense after acquiring Pro Bowl defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson at the trade deadline, while ranking fourth in both total offense and scoring.
