Today I am getting personal and heavy! On this episode, I discuss the current state of the Dominion Fire 360 podcast, yet you are going to get a whole lot more than you bargained for!!  Over the last few years, I went through some pretty dark times, and I am here to pour out my heart a little, and openly share what happened and how it has changed me, affected me, shaped me, and how it has altered my plans going forward.  This is a solo recording, where I just felt the need to update you on what the latest changes are, but more importantly, to let loose and come clean on many subjects. I ask for your help and prayers going forward, to continue, to repent, to improve, innovate and iterate. I share with you how God continued to make appearances, during times where all I wanted was to be left alone. On this episode, I need to rant and get something off my chest. A local prominent Christian church and school abruptly closed and left hundreds of people in disarray, scrambling to find a new school during Spring Break. Since I have interacted with some people in this church, and attended for a brief period, I know first-hand about some of the factors involved. This is a case study breakdown of how bad planning and questionable decisions, lead to horrible optics for Christians, churches and ministries in Las Vegas. We need to really start holding ourselves and each other to higher standards, as we have an Enemy waiting to devour us and smear us every chance we get. Be Still is the first track from the "Acoustic Fire" music project, presented by Dominion Fire Church in Las Vegas, NV. Be Still is a song that was about 6 years in the making. Be Still began with an impromptu writing session following a worship team practice for a small church in Las Vegas. Guitarist Millian Quinteros and Vocalist Maria Uttaro were talking and trying out some music ideas. The opening riff just came out suddenly, and at that moment, everyone in the room paused to hear more. From there, the lyrics and the melody just began to flow. Three hours later, Be Still was completed. As days go by, church life changes, everyday life happens, people move, circumstances shift and situations change. Be Still sat in the back of our minds for almost a decade. When Dominion Fire Church began, there was finally a creative outlet available by which to make this recording official. Over the years, as we played the song in church, it impacted many people, comforted many tears, rekindled fires, and traveled with us through many of life's journeys. The song is just a simple homage to the Lord, that when the chaos of life is pushing you back and forth, the most basic thing to do is to calm down, be still and just KNOW that God is with you. Once you are centered with God, everything else falls in line. As John G Lake once said...It's not a stirring up, but a settling down. Be Still is a simple and heartfelt song, yet represents a personal triumph for the writers, and a testament to an awesome little song that refused to give up.
