Topics in this part include: - Identifying False Beliefs and Traditions- Scriptural Teachings on Polygamy - Asking the Lord to Tell You the Truth- Healing the Pain and Iniquity of our Ancestors- Who or What are you Converted To?Michelle Brady Stone was raised in a happy Mormon family in Salt Lake City. Her father was the Bishop and her mother wrote children's music like, “I Lived in Heaven,” “When I Grow Up I Want to be a Mother” and “I'm a Mormon.” She attended BYU on full scholarship where she had to make the painful choice between the basketball court and the stage. She majored in Music, Dance, Theater, but always hated that she couldn't also major in English, Physics and Psychology. She and her husband, Shane, are the parents of 13 children (11 living), (Yes, all ours. No, not a blended family. Yes, one set of twins), and are many years into raising their own happy Mormon-ish family. In addition to her family, her Youtube channel, 132 Problems: Revisiting Mormon Polygamy , takes most of her time. Michelle spends any leftover time in her garden, and, on occasion, sleeping. Romans 14:1-2 Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. One person's faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. Romans 14:7-9 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. Legacy: the IMPACT or impression you leave BEHIND. If you died TODAY, what would your legacy be? What does GOD desire my LEGACY to be? 1 Corinthians 6:20 you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies. Romans 14:7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. How To Live A Legacy Life 1. I didn't LIVE for MYSELF. Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. 1 Corinthians 10:24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. Your significance THRIVES when your selfishness DIES. “You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”—Winston Churchill Romans14:8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 2. I LIVED for the LORD. The primary title the first apostles self-identified as was “servant.” Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus Titus 1 Paul, a servant of God James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ 2 Peter 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ Jude 1:1 Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of JamesRevelation 1:1 He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John Servant- (BOND SERVANT) – one bound to service without WAGES God isn't a GENIE that gives me what I WANT. He is my LORD, and I give HIM what He wants. Romans 14:8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 3. I DIED for the Lord. Hebrews 9:27 …people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment… Revelation 12:11 “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” 2 Timothy 7:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day Success isn't determined by what PEOPLE said on EARTH, it's determined by what GOD says when you enter ETERNITY. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/coastalchurch/message

While the US will always be "home", I just didn't feel like I belonged there anymore. I love being excited to be there and if I LIVED there I did not get that feeling. I didn't want to resent it and so it has been so much better for me having a little distance. With that distance has come a few realizations as well. Our theme today for Concert Friday is ABUNDANCE. What is this abundant love that Jesus promises? What is this higher love that can move us into greatness and overcome our limitations? Two songs to lead us in prayer to that answer...I LIVED by One RepublicHope when you take that jump, you don't fear the fallHope when the water rises, you built a wallHope when the crowd screams out, it's screaming your nameHope if everybody runs, you choose to stayHope that you fall in love, and it hurts so badThe only way you can know is give it all you haveAnd I hope that you don't suffer but take the painHope when the moment comes, you'll say...I, I did it allI, I did it allI owned every second that this world could giveI saw so many places, the things that I didWith every broken bone, I swear I livedHope that you spend your days, but they all add upAnd when that sun goes down, hope you raise your cupOh, I wish that I could witness all your joy and all your painBut until my moment comes, I'll say...I, I did it allI, I did it allI owned every second that this world could giveI saw so many places, the things that I didWith every broken bone, I swear I livedHIGHER LOVE by Kygo and WhitneyBring me higher love, loveBring me higher loveThink about it, there must be a higher loveDown in the heart or hidden in the stars aboveWithout it, life is wasted timeLook inside your heart, and I'll look inside mineThings look so bad everywhereIn this whole world, what is fair?We walk the line and try to seeFalling behind in what could be, ohBring me a higher loveBring me a higher love, ohBring me a higher loveWhere's that higher love I keep thinking of?Bring me higher love, loveBring me higher love (oh)Bring me higher love, loveBring me a higher loveBring me higher love, loveBring me higher love (oh)Bring me higher love, loveBring me a higher loveWorlds are turning, and we're just hanging onFacing our fear, and standing out there aloneA yearning, yeah, and it's real to meThere must be someone who's feeling for meThings look so bad everywhereIn this whole world, what is fairWe walk the line and try to seeFalling behind in what could be, ohBring higher love (My love)Bring higher love, oh (Oh)Bring higher love (My love)Where's that higher love I keep thinking of?Bring me higher love, loveBring me higher love (Oh)Bring me higher love, loveBring me a higher loveBring me a higher love (Oh, bring me love)Bring me higher love, oh (We need a higher love)Bring me a higher love (Bring me, bring me, yeah)A higher love I keep thinking of, oh
How are you spending the days of your life? Are they adding up to something of significance? If not, why are you doing it? Day in and day out we've created this false notion that "functioning" is living. Let's be clear, things function and it is people that live. Knock, knock. Your wake-up call is here. Understand that this isn't a dress rehearsal, this is life. Your life. I need you present each and every moment of your life. Doing, breathing and living out your dreams. I want to see you fulfilling your purpose. Is this going to cost you? Heck ya! But can you really place a price tag on your happiness? Your joy? Your peace? Hell no! In the hit single, “I Lived,” rock band OneRepublic stresses how important it is to say to yourself, “I owned every second that this world could give. I saw so many places, the things that I did. With every broken bone, I swear I lived.” Can you say that to yourself? I don't know about you, but that's what I'm working on. Working on living my life at my greatest potential. I “hope [that] when you take that jump, you don't fear the fall. Hope when the water rises, you built a wall. Hope when the crowd screams out, they're screaming your name. Hope if everybody runs, you choose to stay.” The next time you jump, don't ask how high. Just jump and watch how far you can fly! Catch it! That's it for your dose of “Vitamin D.” Be sure to follow us on all social media @VitaminDDawnDai and until next time, always remember, “you are your greatest asset!”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's Wednesday, September 21st, A.D. 2022. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Apostasy charges dropped against four Sudanese Christians Praise God! A court in Sudan dropped apostasy charges against four Christian men on September 8th. Our prayers have been answered! Officials in the northeastern African nation originally arrested the Christians in June and subjected the converts from Islam to degrading treatment while questioning them. In July, a prosecutor told the Christians they would face the death penalty if they did not renounce their faith and stop praying and evangelizing. The men refused and received apostasy charges. Thankfully, the charges have now been dropped. However, the church attended which these believers had attended has now shut down. Three other churches also shut down in the area this year in the face of threats and violence from Muslims. Jesus said in Matthew 10:32-33, “So everyone who acknowledges Me before men, I also will acknowledge before My Father who is in Heaven, but whoever denies Me before men, I also will deny before My Father who is in Heaven.” Ukraine retook 3,000 square miles back from Russians Ukraine reports it has retaken over 3,000 square miles of Russian-occupied territory since the beginning of this month. However, areas still under Russian control in Ukraine announced plans to vote this week on becoming part of Russia as the Kremlin's advances in Ukraine have stalled. The Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia provinces of Ukraine plan to vote on joining Russia over the next week. Update on SEALs lawsuit against Pentagon's COVID-shot mandate A lawsuit brought by 35 active-duty U.S. SEALs against the Pentagon's COVID-shot mandate is still ongoing. Fox News reports a new filing in the lawsuit shows the U.S. Navy quietly rolled back an order in May that punished SEALs who refuse to get a COVID shot for religious reasons. First Liberty Institute is representing the SEALs in the case that has been extended to all Navy service members seeking a religious exemption to the COVID-shot mandate. Mike Berry with First Liberty warned the military is trying to weed out religious service members with the mandate. BERRY: “This is a giant rubber stamp denial process. And really what it is it's an ideological litmus test. They don't want anybody of faith to serve in our military. First Liberty has been saying this from Day One.” Christian group to spend $40 million to turn out vote As the November midterm elections draw closer, one Evangelical political advocacy nonprofit plans to spend about $40 million to mobilize the Christian vote. The Faith & Freedom Coalition plans to hit 8 million doors across 24 states this election cycle as Republicans try to regain control of the U.S. House and Senate, reports The Christian Post. Thirty-six governorships and 80% of state legislative seats are also up for grabs this election. Polling predictions from the FiveThirtyEight Deluxe Model gives Republicans a 71% chance of winning the House and only a 29% chance of winning the Senate. Lifemark, the Christian pro-adoption movie, is #2! Kirk Cameron's new adoption-themed film “Lifemark” is now No. 2 at the box office! As of yesterday, the film has brought in over $4.3 million. Audiences loved the pro-life movie so much that over 1,000 theaters asked to keep running it for another week, through Thursday, September 22. Watch the trailer and get your tickets today! Produced by the Kendrick Brothers, the film celebrates the blessing of adoption through the true story of Louisiana native David Scotton which was initially told in a 30-minute documentary entitled “I Lived on Parker Avenue.” Survey: More Evangelicals embracing secular worldview And finally, Ligonier Ministries and LifeWay Research released their 2022 State of Theology survey. The survey found U.S. adults are increasingly rejecting the accuracy of the Bible while increasingly embracing unbiblical views of sexuality. Even Evangelicals are increasingly rejecting biblical doctrines of Christ and Scripture. More Evangelicals are also embracing a secular worldview on issues like homosexuality and so-called “gender identity.” You can view the survey through a special link in our transcript today at TheWorldview.com. The survey concluded by saying, “the people of God must continue to obey the Great Commission by communicating the whole counsel of God in biblical evangelism and discipleship. The need is great, but the power and promises of God can equip the church to bring truth and light to a deceived and dark world.” The Apostle Paul said in Acts 20:27-28, "I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God. Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which He obtained with His own blood.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, September 21st, in the year of our Lord 2022. Enrique Villanueva is a Hypnotherapist, Contactee, Author. At first denied - information given to him that echoed what Rahma group members were told - opened the door and allowed him to learn more and expand his own awareness. It was also the key to the contact that triggered his experience in the 4th Dimension. (Book description via Lulu: a dimension of light that co-exists with ours.) This archived interview from 2012 is a favorite. I first saw Enrique featured on a Caretakers of the Earth video. Link. In the comments: "I found this really helpful to realize that "Contact" is not necessarily about a physical meeting, but more about a heart connection and a raising of consciousness that is a form of telepathy." Enrique Villanueva's contact experiences began at age 7. An experience that changed his view of reality permanently was a shift to the 4th Dimension, courtesy of an ET being. Multidimensional. He describes one instance where the being disappears - and it looks just an older version of the television screen when it blinked off. Enrique has an incredible contact story. None of it negative. He does say one of the biggest barriers is the fear we automatically experience and says that is why it is necessary for the ETs to control the contact experience. Fear is mitigated. It's Tuesday, September 6th, A.D. 2022. This The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Turkish forces have deported 43,000 Afghans Persecution in Afghanistan against Christians is the worst in the world, according to the latest report from Open Doors. But now this. Ghandara News reports that Turkey is persecuting the persecuted. Turkish security forces are using live ammunition and physical force to keep Afghans from entering their borders. So far this year, Turkey has deported nearly 43,000 Afghans. Afghanistan economy has collapsed The Afghanistan economy has completely collapsed, reports CNBC. Humanitarian aid to Afghanistan is not enough to sustain its economy, according to the UN Development Program. Several provincial hospitals in Afghanistan witnessed a 70%-90% increase in the treatment of malnourished children over the first six months of the year, and 75% of the children screened in the Shah Joy district were “acutely malnourished.” Sergio Mainetti, Acting Country Director for INTERSOS in Afghanistan, told Intersos News, “The economic crash that has happened as a result of the sanctions against the Taliban and the freezing of the country's assets are having a devastating impact. People have lost their jobs, food prices have gone sky high, and to add to their problems, the drought means that many people have lost their livelihoods as well.” Psalm 10:2 says, “The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor. Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.” NASDAQ has dropped 13% The markets open today with the U.S. NASDAQ coming out of a two-week 13% decline. The gold price is $1,712 per ounce, and silver weighs in at $18.20 per ounce. Bitcoin hovered around $19,700 Monday. 10 Canadians killed & 18 injured in stabbing spree On September 4th, a bizarre stabbing spree in Canada resulted in the murder of 10 people and the wounding of 18, reports CBC. The violence took place in 13 different locations in and around Weldon, Saskatchewan and James Smith Cree Nation. Police from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are searching for Myles Sanderson, age 30, and Damien Sanderson, age 31, after the attacks prompted a dangerous-persons alert. Earlier this year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau introduced legislation to put a national freeze on the purchase and sale of handguns. More Americans upset with Roe overturn than inflation The Wall Street Journal reports that support for the legalization of abortion among Americans has increased by 5% since March. Now, 60% of voters, including 27% of Republicans, say abortion should be legal in most cases. Only 30% support a 15-week ban. When the poll gave a choice of five issues, and asked which made them most likely to vote, respondents put the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade ahead of inflation. Pro-“gay marriage” woman next British Prime Minister In the providence of God, the United Kingdom will have a new Prime Minister today — the nation's third female in the top position. A member of the Conservative Party, Liz Truss has advocated for homosexual faux marriage and environmentalism throughout her political career. When asked about her faith, Ms. Trust said, “I share the values of the Christian faith and the Church of England, but I'm not a regular practicing religious person.” She will be the 15th female head of state out of 45 European countries, a list that includes Scotland, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden. That's the largest number of female heads of state in European history. The trend towards introducing women as heads of state began in the late 1970s. British economy dropped to sixth largest from first The British economy used to be the largest economy in the world, but now it's shifted to sixth place behind India, according to a recent IMF report. India exceeded its former colonial ruler in the first quarter of 2021, 75 years after the nation secured its independence. Deuteronomy 28 reminds the nations of this principle. “You shall come down lower and lower. … He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. … Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, therefore you shall serve your enemies.” (Deut. 28:43,44, 47) Get your tickets ASAP for Lifemark, the pro-life movie And finally, Lifemark, the movie, hits the screens this Friday, September 9th. And it's only in the theaters for 7 days. It's critical to get your tickets for Friday and Saturday in particular. From executive producers Kirk Cameron and the Kendrick Brothers, Lifemark is an inspiring true story which affirms the value of life in a culture of death. Listen to this clip from Alex Kendrick's appearance on Generations Radio. KENDRICK: “In 2019, we were finishing our last movie, Overcomer, and we get a call from Kirk Cameron. He says, ‘Guys, I've just watched this short documentary called ‘I Lived on Parker Avenue.' Man, it grabbed my heart. You've got to watch this thing!' So, Steve and I pull it up and watch it. “It is the true story of an 18-year-old girl who rolls off the abortion table at the last second as the procedure is starting. She says, ‘I can't do this.' She places her baby for adoption. That baby was adopted by a Christian couple that could not have children. They named the baby David. “Eighteen years later, David gets to meet his biological mother. She thought he would hate her because of what she was going to do and giving him up and he wrapped her up in a hug and said, ‘No. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me live! Thank you for letting me be adopted.' He now is married and speaks around the country on behalf of adoption and choosing life. “We say this has got to be a feature film. So, that's when we made Lifemark. And we had no idea Roe vs. Wade will be overturned. So, God is doing something.” Watch the trailer and purchase your tickets ASAP at www.LifemarkMovie.com. Daved Thomas lived a roller coaster life of drugs, partying, homelessness, street life, homosexuality and eventually prison. Following a suicide attempt in a prison cell, Daved heard the audible voice of God speak to him which began the work to change his life around. From that moment, Jesus began to restore what was lost and stolen from his life. Several setbacks and relapses later, he began to rebuild relationships, learn above true love, and begin preaching to the same communities that he was lost in. He has dedicated his life to serving in ministry, teaching, preaching and helping others get free from the life that shackled him. Daved chronicled his experiences in his book, "I Lived a Lie" and shares with us the writing process, the inspiration for the book, and the public reception. On this episode, you will hear an absolutely amazing story about overcoming the worst sins and the hardest situations, how to stop living the lie that the world tries to tell you, and how to become fully set free in Christ Jesus. I'm always in search of the truth because I grew up in such a deceitful culture. So when I found Abdul and Bean talking about the John Lennon and Yoko Ono story some many many episodes ago… I could verify what they said as true or not because I LIVED through the trauma of it as a fan of the Beatles. We'll fast forward through all their other episodes and know they have become one of my trusted historical reference shows. Welcome back for Episode 2. I made an edit to my country music wishlist: I add John Carter Cash to the lineup for the Legacy(?) concert. Then we go on from there:-An update on the Adams Brothers (Record and book in the making)-Venturing into "I Lived to Tell It All" (New Material, Stripped Copies, and Lost CMA Awards)-A note on "Ralph Carlson & Country Mile - Live at the George Jones Show" (Listen to my attempted recording of the hard-if-not-impossible-to-find cassette from the George Jones show hosted at Smiths Falls Memorial Convention Center in Smiths Falls, ON circa 1996).I've been listening to Alan Jackson's song "Back." I'm in agreement; let's bring country back. Get country back on track. I recently read a piece from Outsider.com by Clayton Edwards about the premier of "The George Jones Show." Clayton references his favorite (and one of the few accessible) episodes and paraphrases Bobby Bare: "The radio plays country music for folks who don't like country music." Ain't that something. Today's dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to you living your life. Notice I didn't say functioning, I said living. Are you truly living your life? Ceasing every moment and opportunity that comes your way? Catch it! That's it for your dose of “Vitamin D” be sure to follow me on all social media @DawnDaiSpeaks and until next time, always remember, “You are your greatest asset!” Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com

In this mind-blowing episode, Susan Burrell explains who we are and why we're here. She'll share her story about the journey she took through life and her divorce, all the while questioning everything. Susan used the answers she found to break the shackles of beliefs she adopted from others but didn't match her own and she started living an empowered life. She explains how consciousness is developed over lifetimes and the meridians that align us with emotional and spiritual systems which can get clogged and disrupt our lives. Susan Burrell is the author of “Live Your Empowered Life: A 30-Day Journey Book” and she has a thought provoking podcast called Empowering Chats with Susan Burrell. Her guided meditations are accessible through the Insight Timer App. Susan is a feisty Scorpio (was even born with the red hair to back it up!) who has navigated life by learning how to listen within to that Divine urge that keeps pointing her in the direction of her life's purpose even when she can't see the road. She is a guide in the crossroads of life with a Masters Degree in Consciousness. Susan has been counseling and supporting people in transforming from the inside out for over 25 years. Her methods are proven because she has lived this journey to empowerment. In this episode, I'm tackling a very common worry among parents… “Will my child's Grandparents ruin all the hard work I've done in creating healthy eating habits for my kids?”. This is a question I get asked a lot, and I totally understand it because...well...I LIVED it! My kids would come home from their grandparents' house and say… “Mommy - I had ice cream for supper!” Then I'd ask my Mom what she'd done with the kids all day while she was looking after them for me, and she'd go... “Well, we made chocolate chip cookies, and then I took them to the canteen to get some chips, and then we watched a movie with hot chocolate and marshmallows!” (Insert eye-roll here…) To top it off, my father-in-law used to pressure my kids to eat everything on their plate (which he heaped completely full of food!), and then would even guilt them into eating dessert by saying: “Come on...it's dessert...YUM!”. And the icing on top of that cake was that he'd even make ME out to be the bad guy. He'd hint to my boys that I'd be mad they were eating dessert and it had to be their secret. No thank you! So, believe me, I've dealt with my fair share of this, and I 100% understand your concerns! I'm sharing with you my top tips - tried and tested - for dealing with these super common grandparent issues. Find yourself a quiet space, away from the kiddos (and grandparents), and listen in! As always, if you get value from this episode, please subscribe, rate, and review it on Apple Podcasts. In this episode, I’m tackling a very common worry among parents… “Will my child’s Grandparents ruin all the hard work I’ve done in creating healthy eating habits for my kids?”. This is a question I get asked a lot, and I totally understand it because...well...I LIVED it! My kids would come home from their grandparents’ house and say… “Mommy - I had ice cream for supper!” Then I’d ask my Mom what she’d done with the kids all day while she was looking after them for me, and she’d go... “Well, we made chocolate chip cookies, and then I took them to the canteen to get some chips, and then we watched a movie with hot chocolate and marshmallows!” (Insert eye-roll here…) To top it off, my father-in-law used to pressure my kids to eat everything on their plate (which he heaped completely full of food!), and then would even guilt them into eating dessert by saying: “Come on...it’s dessert...YUM!”. And the icing on top of that cake was that he’d even make ME out to be the bad guy. He’d hint to my boys that I’d be mad they were eating dessert and it had to be their secret. No thank you! So, believe me, I’ve dealt with my fair share of this, and I 100% understand your concerns! I’m sharing with you my top tips - tried and tested - for dealing with these super common grandparent issues. Find yourself a quiet space, away from the kiddos (and grandparents ;) ), and listen in! DISCLAIMER: If you’re one of the many grandparents that follows me to get my feeding tips, and that regularly provides care to their grandkids keeping in mind all that I teach - this episode is not for you! There are grandparents who are certainly exceptions to these scenarios, and honestly, whether you’re an exception or not, we absolutely love and support all grandparents. What you do to help out parents, and the endless love you show your grandchildren, is not going unnoticed, so thank you. :) As always, if you get value from this episode, please subscribe, rate, and review it on Apple Podcasts. Theodore Chiasson, born and raised in a Roman Catholic home in Cape Breton Island, Canada, relates his story of conversion as a 24 year old young man back in the 1970's, after hearing the gospel for the very first time. Theodore had a wholesome God-fearing childhood, but at college he went into drugs and ended up disillusioned and empty. Then a Christian witnessed to him and gave him a Bible…and the Lord saved him that same day. Deep down, you KNOW you have greatness inside. You KNOW you are destined for big things. BUT one or a couple of these things keep showing up... You don't know 'how' to unleash it. In your head you know what you want... But you keep self sabotaging and giving in to that 'voice' in your head. You keep researching and learning. Yet taking the action is STILL uncomfortable...So you go back to "learn more" to make the discomfort go away. More books... More podcasts... More courses... More events... More masterminds... More of whatever it is that distracts you and keeps you from taking action. But at this point, you 'know' a TON... But there is STILL this invisible force that keeps you from acting on it. You call it perfectionism, and when you get it 'perfect', THEN you will be ready! It has been years now, and still no action in sight. When not seeking 'knowledge' to 'know enough' to get started... There are other ways you self sabotage. Do you binge watch Netflix? Will you get started AFTER you watch this series or season? Or will you look for that popular series as soon as this one ends? Maybe you are like me... And you have the uncanny ability to do everything BUT what you know you need to do. It could be dusting the shelves in the garage. Organizing things from closets to email folders. It could be ANYTHING you use to repeatedly keep you from taking action. Do you feel me? I get it. I LIVED in that place for well over 25+ years. But wait, maybe you DO take massive action! Maybe you are a 'GET SH!T DONE' machine! Maybe you hit every business goal you set! Maybe you MASTER your 'to-do list' every day! For the most part, you are SUCCESSFUL!! You have the accolades, the awards, and the financial evidence of success! BUT... Deep inside, you are beginning to realize something is missing. You are feeling the burn-out as you can't 'DO' any more. You can't shut your head off. You can't be present. You can't take time for YOU. Your relationships have lost that luster, if you still have one at all. You can't take a vacation and truly ENJOY it. A vacation had become just a different place to 'do work'. You go back to doing 'more', yet now...it isn't working anymore. This person above wasn't me.... BUT...it was what I attracted in relationships. I couldn't take action, so I was attracted to those that could...and did. No matter which side of this you are on...there is a path to unleashing your TRUE greatness AND... Living a fulfilled life where you are at peace with yourself. The thing is, the answer isn't in a book, or a podcast. It is already INSIDE you... You just need the right guide to help you get there. My strength is in listening, connecting, and seeing your greatness... And compressing time by guiding you there quickly. My process is simple, but not easy. Yet it is still easier than living with THAT feeling you are experiencing now. You will only choose my path when you are FED UP with where you are in life. When you are TRULY ready, you will know it in your soul. You will get the freedom, peace, joy, and fulfillment that have been evading you for years. www.service2purpose.com

KITTIN on: - Facebook: www.facebook.com/misskittin - SoundCloud: @misskittin HOW I MET THE BASS on: - Facebook: www.facebook.com/howimetthebass - Twitter: www.twitter.com/howimetthebass - Mixcloud: www.mixcloud.com/HowIMetTheBass QUESTIONS to KITTIN: Q: Let´s talk about your mix for HOW I MET THE BASS. How did these tracks have an impact on your career? So: how did you meet the "bass" once? A: I met the bass in our local New Wave club in Grenoble who hosted the first Electronic Music party in 1989. It was very bad music, spanish Bacalao by a group of DJs on tour. But how I really „met the bass“ was shortly after at our first rave party in a small town near by, first time we had a flyer in our hands too, Rave Virus. We all went with The Hacker in the same car, same group of friends today. That night had a huge impact on my life. We went to an after hour, and when I came back home, I packed my things and left. I remember saying to myself: how are you going to cope with so called „normal life“ after that? I knew I had to work very hard to write my own path, I knew I would have to make choices that would hurt my family, but I was determined to be free. The same freedom I felt dancing non stop that night on such music. My mix is based on these early rave years memories. The excitement and freedom of each rave, each trip, each DJ, each record. It’s impossible to summit it in a one hour mix, but for example, the track from The Hypnotist (“Pioneers Of The Universe“) in the middle of the mix, the longest too, really brings me back to a special party, the Docks in Marseille in 1993. CJ Bolland played live, among Robert Liner (The Source Experience) and huge Belgian DJs like The Fly or Yves de Ruyter. I also included tracks I listened to before and after a party, at home with friends, like LFO, Aphex Twin, Lhasa or B12. I was massively influenced by the early Warp stuff, and the Artificial Intelligence compilations I still listen to today. When I started DJing, I was playing very hard, Acid Core, but I always tried to bring a left field tune in the middle such as Autechre, Boards of Canada, or The Prodigy. A challenge I kept all along. One hour is really too short, I wanted to play early House tracks too but I am definitely a rave kid. I could have include Gat Decor too, always in my bag, but as a lot of DJs play it back, I focused on more forgotten ones. To meet the bass in my case means „I understood music“ for the first time. I analyzed sounds, closed my eyes and saw shapes, colors, stimulating my intellect. I LIVED the sound. I was not a passive listener anymore, for the first time. What struck me, talking about it, is: many people don’t have that relationship to music. They just play commercial stuff from the radio but don’t feel deep inside this incredible sensation. So I feel very fortunate. Nevertheless I never wanted to be a musician or DJ, but it did change my life. Big time. Q: In now 25 years of DJing you´ve been playing all over the planet. Which places and experiences were outstanding for you? A: It’s an impossible question. Too many to say. It happened that I cried out of emotion, in Barcelona, in the big Razzmatazz years, people chanting so hard I had to stop the music and hear them sing. Or lately playing B2B for 6h with Marcel Dettmann at Panorama Bar. Never thought I could live that again in my career. I also had my best experiences out of rage, live with The Hacker, at Benicassim when I nearly missed the show trapped in traffic, had to run on the side road in the heat with biker boots, arrived on stage nearly fainting, threw my boots in the audience as my feet hurt so bad and did the whole show barefoot, full house. Love Parade 2001, at the Siegessäule, one million people, they say your name on the microphone „Miss Kittin, Grenoble, France“ and my dad saw me playing for the first time, this was quite life changing for him, acknowledging I did pretty well for a raver.

Tod Frye, Asteroids Hi, there! Welcome to the next in the series of Atari-related interviews being produced by Antic, the Atari 8-bit computer podcast. My name is Randy Kindig and I’ll be leading this interview. Most notably, while working at Atari, Tod Frye developed the 400/800 version of Asteroids and the 2600 version of Pac-Man, converting them from the coin-op version. He has many other games to his credit. He later worked for Axlon, Nolan Bushnell’s company. This interview was conducted on January 3, 2016. Teaser Quotes “While I was at Atari, it went from a pretty big company, to a huge company, to a complete flop.” “I didn’t work at Atari; I LIVED at Atari; and I loved it.” “Because of the CTIA and GTIA and Antic, the sprite hardware was WAY better than the sprite hardware on the Commodore.” “The hard parts were: writing code that was fast enough, writing code that was small enough to fit in the cartridge, and writing code that would fit in the RAM. 1- "I was born February the seventh, 18 and 98, down here at West Norton; born in this county, the same county I'm living in. I retired out of Kentucky. I worked in the coal mines, commenced coal mining when I was just a boy. Never got to go to school too much. " DID YOUR PARENTS WORK IN THE MINES? "My father was a carpenter and a blacksmith, but I had brothers that worked in the mines, much older. I was the youngest child out of a family of ten. There's 5 boys and 5 girls. My oldest brother had a boy just . lacked 5 days of being as old as me. I started working in the mines when I was 12 years old, but I went to school a little bit after that. I got a seventh grade edu- cation. I was working in the coal mines at Pardee, Virginia, for Blackwood Coal and Coke Company in 19 and 27 when two men from New York and one from Ash- land, Kentucky -- a Carter, and I forget the other two men's names from New York -- (came) to pick up mountain talent through Tennessee, West Virginia, and Kentucky and Virginia, and they came to Norton Virginia. I borrowed an old banjo -- I happened to be in town that day -- Pardee's about 6 or 8 miles from Norton. I borrowed a banjo from a fellow, McClure, run a music store, a little cheap banjo. I started to play two pieces for them, they was in a big hurry, they was over at the Norton hotel trying out this mountain talent. They tried out about 50 or 75 musicians. They· was standing around there up in the ballroom and I wondered why they hadn't signed them up for to make phonograph records, because I stood around and pitched them high as a dollar, dollar and a half at a time -- I mean nickels, dimes, and quarters -- to hear them play. They wasn't nothing but playing I was working on a coal machine. I took that old banjo up there and they asked me did I play it, and I told them I played one kind of like it a little bit. They told me to go and give them a piece. I played about a verse of "The Country Blues" -- I called it "Country Blues," it was really "Hustling Gamblers. " 2- WHERE DID YOU LEARN THAT SONG? "I learned that from a man from Tennessee, where I don't know. Named Crawford, Homer Crawford, and he played the old way -- banjo -- in the old way of playing. So I just played a little of that and I noticed they all marked it "good" on their papers; and they asked me to play an- other one and I started out to play the "Down South Blues" a song that I'd learned. I heard some of it on a phonograph record back years bef.ore.this. It played on a piano, but I commenced playmg I.t o.n the banjO and sang it and put an extra verse or two m It that I made myself. So I just played about two verses and I notic.ed they marked "good" on that, and they came around WIth papers wanting to sign me up to go to make phonograph records, and three weeks from that time I was on my way to New York to make phonograph records. And none of these here good musicians standing around there -- didn't sign nary a banjo player but me on the rounds they come that time. They Signed about three guitar players, and there was two fiddlers. " 3- DO YOU REMEMBER ANY OF THE OTHERS? "They signed up John Dykes, Hub Mahaffey, and Miss Vermillion -- I can't think of her first name -- from Kingsport, Tennessee; and Hub Mahaffey he seconded on the guitar for me on some of the pieces that I played and put on phonograph records. So we went to New York and I made four records, and they offered for me to make two or three more while I was there, but I thought on the contract I was under I'd just make them four -- eight songs. So, I got two contracts for to make phonograph records for The Brunswick, Balke and Callender -Company of New York. And a lot of people thought I quit on them just because I didn't have the opportunity to make more phonograph records, but I had a contract-- two contracts -- one to make 12 songs with me and the guitar player -- anyone I'd want to get -- and then I could get a band of musicians if I wanted to and make 12 more -- 24 songs. And I had a little domestic trouble and I decided I'd quit and went back in the coal mines and retired out of the coal mines, and I'm a retired coal miner now. 65 years old, and I didnYt think I ever would play anymore. And my banjo, I let a fellow take it to keep. I let him hold it for security for a little money I got off of him, and I went back and gave him back that money 25 years afterwards and picked up the banjo. He was a single man at the time I let him have the banjo, and he had a family and one girl married at the time that I went back to take my banjo. He was …..from -- a Kinser boy, at Hayman, Kentucky. His wife, she's a schoolteacher, she taught school over there. Adams girl he married, Reba Adams. So I went back to Kentucky and went to work in the coal mines and I was working for the Elk Horn Coal Corporation at Jackhorn, Kentucky, and I retired from there back when I was 60 years old. I'm 65 now and I'm drawing my welfare pension from the United Mine Workers and also my Social Security now. " 4- DID YOUR PARENTS PLAY MUSIC AT ALL? "I had my oldest brother, he fiddled a little bit and he had an old banjo, he'd play it some. That was the only one .to play any music to amount to anything. I got me a banjO after I was married. I married when I was young, 20 years old. Commenced playing, and I played for parties, bean stringings, and first one thing and another where they'd have a little party in the country -- used to -- and I was just playing for the fun of it. I played a couple of these pieces for the people from New York and they gave me an opportunity to make some phonograph records, and I could have made some more but I decided to quit. I got dust on my lungs, and I've not got too good a breath. I don't pretend to play much. In fact, I belong to the . church now and I'm living a different life to what I lIved whenever I was younger. I'm living for the Lord as much so as I know how. " "In taking up learning to playa banjo, whenever I was learning how to play, why there wasn't very many people that played a banjO around through the country that I ever heard. I heard one colored fellow, Negro, played in a band with a bunch of other colored fellows. They had about 4 instruments. " CAN YOU REMEMBER WHAT INSTRUMENTS? "They had a fiddle guitar and a mandolin and a banjo. " WAS THAT AROUND HERE? "In Dorchester, Virginia. I heard them playing for a colored dance one night and I was just a boy and I listened to that fellow pick the banjo. The holiday decorations are coming out way too quickly, the turkeys are running for their lives and everyone's cuddling up a little closer with that person they want to spend winter huddled indoors with. (Again, maybe not in LA!). And the beats keep droppin' with dance music stayin' alive and well! From established singers like Gwen and J-Hud, to new artists like Ella's Henderson and Eyre, there's great music to be found all around. This might just be my track of the year… "We've all been played, we all get hurt Just take that pain and let the motherfucker burn And you know that in time you will find that They'll always come back, yeah they'll always come back" - Ella Eyre, "Comeback" If you heard me play at all over Halloween, you heard a lot of these tracks in my sets. George and I's "Black Widow" got such great reaction -- we were truly humbled by the response to it on the dance floor.
