Talib Qwele has a song titled country cousins and in this case these are two sets of country cousins that love to play fight! FAMU and Alabama State is the best little rivalry that most people sleep on in the SWAC. These two schools are so similar and are closer than most people realize. The two schools also have histories that are at times shared or mirror each other.Let us look at the Alabama State vs FAMU football game. Also Coaches have camps which have been fruitful in the past couple of days. The Baseball team has had multiple commitments and the Football team continues to pack what seems to be an overly filled locker room. Being a Rattler ain't for the faint of heart and we know how much FAMUans love this university. Fangs Up#FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
FAMU came out of yesterday's BOT meeting with a ton of frustration on some issues but also some much needed transparency on other issues. And of course the conversation over the President elect's contract caused a good amount of consternation. But the clock keeps ticking and the question of what would the SWAC be without FAMU?FAMU continues to be the news source that keeps giving all this while FAMU has a track athlete competing at the National Level and we look to the third game of the football season which will be against the Albany State University Golden Rams.FAMU keeps providing all the entertainment that we would ever need. Fangs Up#FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
FAMU vs FAU is the second game of the season and both teams are battling for supremacy in the classroom and on the field. Back to back weeks in which FAMU will be playing games in South Florida but this time against a program which should prove to be a formidable foe and who may even be more talented than FAMU. We also find ourselves in a place as FAMU Alumni that we ask the question if unification with other schools works well. #FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
The Orange Blossom Classic is the season opener and what is Miami without a good party? But the party only goes well if we win and the last time FAMU played Howard it was for the Celebration Bowl in Atlanta at the end of the Season. This time the team opens the season in a rivalry which will allow the fans between the two schools to show who has the better party and who has the better team. We also have seen additions to the other sports that may excite the base. FAMU will be in A and the MIA. Hoping to see the Alumni come out in droves this season.#FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
For the third or fourth time this year FAMU seems to have recruited QB 1. This time it looks like Jett Peddy might be the man who will lead the team in Orange and Green. Also many FAMUANS are doing the Texas Two-Step in Frisco, Texas at the NAA Convention. Let us hope that funds get raised and the big money donors decide to leave some funds for Mother FAMU.#FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
A tough way to finish a season for the FAMU baseball team ends what was an exhilarating season. Despite the best wishes of the FAMU faithful the season has come to an end.The other sports have been working to rebuild the rosters, basketball landed a 6'11 Center and football has made a concerted effort to retake South Florida for the Orange and the Green.Good Times for a Good Distraction.#FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
The common adage is that elections have consequences and FAMUans are seeing this first hand. Activity or lack thereof has resulted in a presidential hire which has unified Rattler Nation against a common opponent. During this time of unity within the ranks we are also seeing additions to the FAMU athletic teams. It is always a good time to be a Rattler but now is a better time to organize and create a unified agenda for Rattler Nation. #FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
After an Election that we feel was rigged, what is the next step for FAMU Alumni? Withholding funds will be an option for some and doing more for the university will work for others. Rattler Nation is right to feel like it was betrayed for pieces of silver, but the question of now what has to be asked. And while this is extremely frustrating and even disheartening, the opioids of the masses continue going on in the form of Athletics. #FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
But outside of the presidential search we see that the Rattlers continue to build upon the foundation to bring home championships .FAMU Track made a huge comeback and the Women's Basketball team has made some huge moves. Looking to see how the selection process goes in some areas while we build back better in others. #FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital
Mothers Day is for Family so we will see you on Monday to talk about this weekend in FAMU Athletics and some of the events to come on campus. Good Times on Campus while many are keeping an eye on what appears to be a rigged presidential search. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
The FAMU lady Rattlers are fighting to stay alive in the SWAC tournament! While this is taking Place the other sports are waiting on deck. The Track team starts the SWAC Championship on Sunday and the Golf team is about to prepare for the NCAA tournament. We have also seen several players get offered to become the next crop of FAMU Rattler Football players which is very exciting for all those that support FAMU. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
A Line from Stay Schemin is by Rick Ross & Drake inspired the show topic. But FAMU basketball has seen some commitments come in during a time that both the Men and Women are rebuilding; rebuilding with similar expectation but different levels of stress. Also FAMU Tennis fought hard but fell short and FAMU Golf prepared to take a ride that may be shorter than a par 4 course from FAMU itself. We also watch FAMU Football lose players to the portal while continuing to welcome others. And of Course, we have to mention this presidential search tour that is going on. We didn't have to transfer to Florida State to get those papers! #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
The NFL Draft has concluded and it looks like the question of if a FAMU player would get drafted has been answered. The Football program has concluded spring activities and is now working to solidify its roster after the attrition of the transfer portal. Additionally Golf & Tennis wait to hear where they will be playing next while the stick sports are on two different streaks. Also what is up with the presidential search that has been taking place at FAMU? Good Trouble tonight. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
FAMU welcomed Charlie Ward as its new head Basketball Coach and so far it seems like the community is behind the new coach. Beyond naming a new Coach Golf & Tennis Teams have brought home SWAC Championships to Mother FAMUAnd the Softball team beat up on the Wildcats while the baseball team got swept. In the words of Jahiem “Let's Talk About It” #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital

It is too easy to name something The Real McCoy so I will tease that concept for our guest Eleanor McCoy who is running for 2nd VP of the FAMU National Alumni Association and is coming here to talk about her desire to attain this position.Additionally the news that FAMU Head Basketball Coach Patrick Crarey is leaving for Grambling has hit the airwaves. We will welcome friend of the Show from the O&G Strikezone Bryan Fulford to come on and talk about how this came about and how it could have been provided. We may even look for the solutions to see what will be our next move. Always a good time for some honest conversation#FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU#HBCUdigital
Ashleigh Cooper is coming on to talk to us about her aspirations to be the 1st Vice President for the FAMU NAA. Ashleigh has been working with multiple organizations to bring about effective change and hopes to do the same as the 1st VP of the FAMU NAA. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU#HBCUdigital
Artisha R. Polk is Running for NAA President and is here to share her platform with you and others. Election season is upon those who are connected to the FAMU NAA. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU#HBCUdigital
A Celebration of past championships on the diamond took place while we concluded the basketball season for FAMU Athletics. Golf is getting into the swing of things while the Football team is looking to reload by offering the next group of potential Rattlers. FAMU Rattlers always want to be the best but does the current athletic landscape handicap these efforts to swing for the fences? #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU#HBCUdigital
FAMU Athletic Director Angela Suggs will be on today's show to talk about the FAMU Athletics Program.#FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU#HBCUdigital
If You Know, You Know!Don't Bring Sand to the Beach. The conclusion of Basketball Season at FAMU will end in Daytona, Florida and while the Men's team wants to win; the ladies need to win if they intend on visiting the SWAC Tournament. Also FAMU softball faces a familiar foe while baseball host West Georgia at home and the football team still has use asking questions about who will be the DC.Good Times are ahead!#FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
The Arena is not half full but the Rattler Basketball teams did split the games on Saturday. While the basketball teams were splitting decisions in Lawson the Kings and Queens of the Diamond gave us Rattlers some hope that these teams might make a little noise as the season progresses. No football news besides the season tickets and Spring Practice begins on Friday.#FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
March is creeping around the corner and FAMU is in the midst of one of the busiest portions of the year. Basketball is preparing to conclude and the spring sports have fired up. All this takes place as FAMU is likely going to face some budget cuts from the governor and those new Football Season tickets definitely got your attention. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
The hardest part of this weekend's games was keeping track of who was playing and where or who. From basketball & softball to baseball and track this was a weekend which kept the Rattler faithful glued to any outlet which had the most up to date information. Good time to be a fan, but whew; the Rattlers are hard to keep up with. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
It's too late to get on the bandwagon! But the Leader of the hype train is letting you know that the Number One Day Two Fan is Irrationally Excited about the FAMU Basketball Program. So in the Words of Jeff Cameron, “Chew, Freaking Chew Baby!” the Ratters are well on the way to breaking into the NCAA Tournament if things continue to go our way.Additionally it's time to get on the hype train for FAMU Baseball & Softball while we still have room. The Hype is Real! And the potential is great. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
This weekend was full of sporting event on the Highest of Seven Hills, but also served as a reminder of how important fans are to the programs on campus. It may have been hard to track at times but having so many teams playing at the same time kept the fans engage with the program. Also it appears that the Basketball Homecoming was a success which could be built upon pressing forward.#FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
Rattler Boosters are one of the most important Direct Support Organizations that FAMU has. The Official DSO of athletics keeps pushing the needle forward for Florida A&M University and gives until it hurts, why you should join is often a question and we have answers. Also the Basketball programs have been on a Run and Coach Crarey has not received the years he was owed.Lastly, Big Pressure is upon all the SWAC and the Stick sports have swung into a new season.#FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
FAMU Basketball will likely get to be the Program Darling with the coming of National Signing Day. But Football is the engine that drives the car and in this case FAMU's football coaches used the pull of home to bring talented players back home. There truly is no place like home and Mother FAMU called some to come back home to Florida. If you Saw the O&G Strikezone you have already heard some of the names but we will continue the discussion and to see how some of the missing parts are now affecting the university going forward. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
After FAMU's Mens and Womens basketball teams played against Alabama A&M University the uncomfortable conversation about extending coach Crarey needs to be had. Along with that conversation how does FAMU create a pipeline of talent to replace what it has lost in so many spaces? All this while FAMU Track may become the next poaching ground for talent. Let's ask some questions to find some answers. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
Can everyone win? If you're a FAMU fan you have definitely been able to clock some W's on and off the field. In the process of FAMU winning those aligned to FAMU have also seen themselves benefit which is exciting and concerning at the same time. Also in the midst of a basketball game we will have the football schedule get released for all of Rattler Nation. Get your chips up because wins cost, but so do losses. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
FAMU Basketball split games against Alcorn State on Saturday while the Track team made some considerable strides to show that trusting the process may be worth it when you have the right person leading the program. Also we have a bit of a clue as to who FAMU will be playing on the gridiron and one potential game has my attention. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
Heavy Snow is not the Norm in Tallahassee but change is, FAMU is an ever changing landscape for many reasons which can be cause for frustration for some and serve as hope for others. On one side we are seeing persons who have been integral to the success of the program depart for better opportunities while on other ends we see multiple rebuilds happen before our eyes. Change can seem to adversely affect sustainability but it could also bring in new thought which will allow the programs to grow. Stay warm FAMULY! #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
FAMU Basketball did what it was supposed to do against two of the lower ranked teams in the conference. This may give cause for hope as it shows growth within a program that has been cheeks for the better part of two decades. Is basketball becoming more than an after thought for the first time in decades? Football, the stick which stirs the cup continues to draw the attention of Rattler Nation even when we see that the Spring sports have got into full swing. Also we see that HBCU continue to be the launching ground for those who want to go to the next level. I guess a city on a hill can not be unseen. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
The FAMU Lady Ratters just finished playing a game and the O&G Strikezone just hosted Coach Colzie in an interview that did much to calm the nerves of Rattler Nations. All this while the Rattler Boosters just had a meeting which indicated that change is afoot. Spring is when new things grow and when things start anew. Good time to be a Rattler on the Highest of Seven Hills. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
FAMU can't run it back withColzie because they did not repeat as SWAC champions. But they can definitely build back better in 2025 and this appears to be the time at which Colzie will Re-Up on the talent that will make up this roster. Additionally FAMU basketball did what I predicted against Southern while the other sports are about to give many in Rattler Nations something to hope for. Good Times and a Late start but Y'all know what its always going to be! #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
Could FAMU ever be a Basketball school? Nah I doubt it but the program has room to grow and may have a vibe that generates some traction for those that love the game of basketball. Also what are some changes that I hope to see come to the Rattler Boosters after I done gave them this coin? Let's start some Good trouble! #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
FAMU and other HBCUs need to be a part of the NIL trend as much as other schools. FAMU has the Fang Exchange while other schools have come up with ways to bring in top talent. The playing field may never be level but doing nothing is essentially allowing for these programs to fall further behind. Also FAMU basketball is about to have its own version of the classic in Lawson over the Holidays. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital
Recruiting is the life blood of a successful program and FAMU athletics has made a concerted effort to bring the Florida Boys and Local talent back home. FAMU basketball is also about to enter conference play by hosting a Florida Classic Part Duex at Lawson against Mary's Kids. And Special Guest Ashley from the Fang Exchange is stepping to the stage to share in the fun. All this while we contemplate how the new Celebrity hires may impact HBCU Football. The best gifts that you get for Christmas are the ones you ask for or that surprise gift you silently needed. And the FAMUly has already received gifts on the Athletic field via graduation, football signing and a basketball program which may give us a bit of home going into conference play. Things will continue to get interesting as we inch closer to the spring. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
FAMU Football FAN are asking the same question about this recruiting cycle, Have you seen them. So the fanbase as a whole sounds like the Chi-Lites looking for that lost thang. Have you seen them? Also the basketball season is about to pick back up before a break! Good Times on the Hill are ahead. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
Success masks inefficiencies, mistakes and bad habits while also becoming a breeding place for complacencies. But success also creates a foundation upon which a standard for excellence is created. Last year's success on the athletic field served as a continuation of the standard which is FAMU Football and this year's success by the Volleyball team was much of the same. What will become the new standard in this current landscape of athletics rests solely upon who the new standard bearers will be which means recruiting is vital to the success of these programs. While we wait on Volleyball to bring in a new crop of student athletes, football continues its mad dash to acquire the next group of successful FAMU athletes. Some have already committed and some are weighing the best options for them. Lets see who may be joining in the rally cry, Fangs Up. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
FAMU Fans watched as Jackson State won the SWAC but would soon see the news that former Head Coach Willie Simmons would be named the new head coach at Florida International University! While this football season did not finish as planned it can be argued that in the grand scheme of things. The Major parties involved in the Football fiasco came out winners. Also FAMU Volleyball concludes all fall sports after losing to Nebraska while the basketball teams applied B2A at Lawson! Let's Make Some Good Trouble! #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
Football season is over and the Volleyball team is in the spotlight, but before the spring sports take over. What does the future hold for FAMU football as we enter the close of the first year of the Colzie era? #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
FAMU Fans are definitely disappointed with the season's outcome but being disappointed with a winning season is a sign of a program that has high expectations. Those frustrations also hint that change will be coming on the Highest of Seven Hills as many have voiced frustrations with how this team arrived at 7-5. Football Season ends and the real Basketball season is about to begin. While all of this goes on the FAMU Volleyball team prepares to make a Postseason run after another successful season and a SWAC Championship. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
The Florida Classic was a sight to see for those in attendance and the centerpiece of a successful weekend for those who really cherish the rivalry with Bethune Cookman University as the Wildcats were 0-2 against FAMU on the athletic everything. But that is not the full story for the weekend, FAMU Men's Basketball was able to get a win while the Lady Rattlers stayed in Orlando until Sunday but left with a tough loss. You can't win them all but you sure as heck want to. Welp it's been over a thousand days since FAMU lost to BCU. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
The Florida Classic is just as much about the Pop of the football game as it is the circumstances that surround it. Govern yourselves accordingly in the City Beautiful. Also FAMU basketball is trying to bounce back from a tough start to the season and the Volleyball team reign as the regular season champions of the South Western Athletic Conference. Man we need these wins! #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
In what can be explained as nothing more than a nightmare in Bragg Memorial Stadium the Rattlers gave the Devils an opening and had Hell to pay. And again the Number 21 stinks in the minds of the FAMU faithful. On the other side of things FAMU Volleyball has won the SWAC but that success is definitely overshadowed by the outcome in Bragg. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
A spirited end to a Booster Meeting, bruised Football team and a Volleyball team that is looking to close out the SWAC lends itself to be a weekend that may allow Rattler Nation to come together around a common goal. Winning the SWAC and finding out how to fix the problems that bother us Rattlers. #FAMU #FangsUp #HBCU #HBCUdigital --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fangsup/support
