FAMU was able to defeat Albany State in a game that was very close until the end of the game. But even after defeating Albany State FAMU fans have a ton of questions about what this team will be going into SWAC play. FAMU seems to have QB1 but that could be in doubt, FAMU seemed to have what appeared to be a championship level defense but that could be in doubt and FAMU looked to be a potential favorite to win the SWAC but that could also be questioned. Going into a much needed bye week the fanbase seems to have more questions than it does answers about the team it loves so much.Also FAMU Volleyball was able to put on a good show against Georgia State but still ended up losing the game.It is a good time for the team to get healthy and for some recruiting to happen. #FangsUp #FAMU #HBCU #HBCUdigital

Bernice Johnson Reagon, a civil rights activist who co-founded The Freedom Singers and later started the African American vocal ensemble Sweet Honey in the Rock, died Tuesday at the age of 81. Her daughter, the acclaimed musician Toshi Reagon, shared the news of her mother's passing Wednesday night in a public Facebook post. It is impossible to separate liberation struggles from song. And in the 1960s — at marches, and in jailhouses — the voice leading those songs was often Bernice Johnson Reagon. Her work as a scholar and activist continued throughout her life, in universities and concert halls, at protests and in houses of worship. The future songleader was born in southwest Georgia, the daughter of a Baptist minister. She was admitted to a historically Black public college, Albany State, at the age of 16 and studied music. Albany, Ga., would become an important center of the civil rights movement when the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested there in 1962, causing the media to descend on the town.

Florida A&M and North Carolina A&T missed out on the FCS playoffs for different reasons, and Howard just upped their football profile after this win vs Morgan State. FAMU had hopes at the FCS playoff, but they came up just short. The reason was a weak strength of schedule and their win over Albany State. Would I have put them in? North Carolina A&T loss the Big South Championship to Gardner Webb because they couldn't execute their weekly keys to victory. Coach Washington calls it making chicken, but the kitchen was closed. The keys are stopping the run, protecting the football, and win the kicking game. The latter is unclear, but the Aggies definitely didn't execute the first two. Howard beat Morgan State in the last game of the season and helped their football platform. Technically, they have a share of the MEAC for the first time. Bhayshul Tuten has a massive 250 yard game that propelled North Carolina A&T over Campbell in the last of Campbell's 3 HBCU games of the year vs North Carolina Central, Jackson State, and the Aggies. The D2 regional rankings have been released and Benedict College, Virginia Union, and Tuskegee would be in the playoffs, while Fayetteville State & Albany State are in the mix. North Carolina A&T defeated Campbell in a major Big South victory behind a massive 250 yard game from Bhayshul Tuten. In the biggest moment, the Aggies relied on their star running back. After a rough first quarter and first half, the Aggies showed much resilience on offense and defense to battle back and win this game. The D2 HBCU kings, Bowie State & Albany State, have fallen, and Virginia Union and Benedict College have taken over in the CIAA and SIAC. Jada Byers and Eric Phoenix had really major performances leading to their team's victory, and punishments have been handed down for Southern and Prairie View due to their fight.  Virginia Union has gotten the bulldog monkey off their back. Byers once again had a phenomenal performance, and the Panthers won in overtime. I support the Bulldogs decision to go for it on 4th & goal in overtime. Benedict once again beat a team at the their game. This game vs Albany State was very reminiscent of their game against Fort Valley State. In both games BC defeated their opponents at their own game. They did a good job running the ball and stopping the run in both of those games. Southern and Prairie View were punished for their fight.
