Another day, another masterclass in awkward honesty courtesy of The Rizzuto Show. This week, the crew dives into the eternal mystery: how the hell do you actually know if someone's into you? Spoiler: apparently it involves secret triangles with your eyes, unnecessary elbow touching, and maybe staring at lips like a weirdo?! But the real highlight? Lern hits us with a story about her mom letting one rip right in front of her at a girl's weekend — and not the “oops, blame the chair squeak” kind. Nope, the kind that makes you reconsider ever making eye contact with your parent again. Listen now and prepare to be blown away… hopefully not the same way Lern was. On today’s episode of The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast, the crew tackled breaking news, Hollywood rumors, real-talk about intimacy, and major updates in the Charlie Kirk shooting case. The RSMS crew digs into a string of terroristic threats that forced lockdowns and class cancellations at multiple historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) across the U.S. Institutions such as Alabama State, Hampton, Virginia State, Southern, Bethune-Cookman, Spelman, Clark Atlanta, and Morehouse were affected. Although no credible threat has been confirmed, the timing—shortly after Charlie Kirk’s shooting—has many students and administrators on edge, with heightened security in place. Rickey and the crew sat down with a sex and intimacy therapist, who broke down how open communication, honesty, and vulnerability can deepen relationships and help couples keep the spark alive. And during the last hour, the crew revealed that a suspect in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk is now in custody. The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah, arrested after a tip from someone close to him, according to Utah law enforcement. Authorities say Robinson acted alone, and there are indications in messages and bullet engravings that the shooting was politically motivated. At least six HBCUs — Alabama State, Hampton, Virginia State, Clark Atlanta, Southern University in Baton Rouge, and Bethune-Cookman — were forced into lockdown after receiving threats. Alabama State officials called them “terroristic threats.” Georgia's Spelman College also told students to shelter in place after Clark Atlanta was targeted. So far, police say no injuries. Send us a textThe second week of HBCU football approaches with several compelling storylines emerging from an action-packed opening weekend. Alabama State quarterback Andrew Body delivered a performance for the ages against UAB, throwing for 312 yards and rushing for 119 more while accounting for five touchdowns. His stellar showing sparked heated debate when he was named co-offensive player of the week alongside Jackson State's Ahmad Miller, who rushed for 172 yards on just 10 carries.Michael Vick's highly anticipated coaching debut at Norfolk State attracted national attention with ESPN cameras and celebrity appearances, but resulted in a 27-7 loss to Towson. The Spartans struggled to establish offensive rhythm while rotating quarterbacks, highlighting the challenges ahead for the program under new leadership. Meanwhile, Delaware State showed surprising tenacity against Delaware despite being picked to finish last in the MEAC. Their aggressive defensive play and strong running game from Marquise Gillis (123 yards) suggested they might significantly outperform preseason expectations.Week 2 brings "payout weekend" for many HBCU programs facing FBS opponents, with Grambling State headlining by collecting $1 million to face Ohio State. Other notable games include UAPB at Texas Tech ($575,000) and Jackson State at Southern Miss ($375,000). These matchups provide crucial financial support for athletic departments while offering players valuable experience against top-tier competition. In Division II, Benedict made a statement with a shutout victory over Fayetteville State, while Clark Atlanta impressed in a narrow loss to powerhouse Valdosta State. The passion surrounding HBCU football continues to grow, with programs like North Carolina A&T introducing special helmet decals honoring the Greensboro Four civil rights icons.
