As tough defeats go, this one was right up there. On Sunday, Fulham blew a chance to get to Wembley and the FA Cup semi-finals after a spectacular implosion in which Fulham received three red cards in just 17 seconds. It's FA Cup quarter final time. This Sunday, Fulham travel to Manchester United in hope of picking up a famous win that will book a trip to Wembley. Whilst it's been a tough couple of weeks for the Whites, hopefully energy will be renewed amongst the lads for what is a massive game at Old Trafford. In this episode, we preview Sunday's match and ask what the suspension of Casemiro could mean for United. We also give some quick thoughts on the Arsenal defeat, discuss the Marco Silva to Spurs rumours and react to the news of Luke Harris's new contract. In this podcast Coops, Dan, Dom and Stephen look back at what went wrong, as league leaders Arsenal breezed past Fulham, to secure a very easy 3-0 victory at Craven Cottage. Fulham, who were without key players Willian and Joao Paulinha, never really got going and conceded 3 soft goals in the first half, and whilst they improved in the second (no doubt after a Marco Silva half-time tongue lashing) it sadly was a case of too little, too late. As Mick Jagger (?!) watched on from the Cottage, Fulham's lacklustre performance ensured fans left without getting any satisfaction. Many felt a result like this has been coming and whilst it's obviously disappointing, we have to remind ourselves that Arsenal are very, very good at football and we've still got plenty to look forward to this season… namely our FA Cup quarter final clash against Man United, who will be without their own midfield talisman. We breakdown all of Sunday's action in the first half and answer your questions in the second. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
It's consecutive London derbies for Fulham as Arsenal visit Craven Cottage looking to retain their lead at the top of the Premier League. In this episode, we briefly look back at Monday's defeat before previewing the test that the Gunners will pose and whether their lack of forward options could be an advantage for Fulham. In parts to we speak to Sarah Keig from the Fulham Lillies all about their incredible maiden season and all the initiatives they are behind at this weekend's Arsenal match. It was the first trip we've had with fans to Brentford's new, multi-coloured seat ground, and I think we can all agree it wasn't a particularly fun one, as Fulham came out on the wrong side of a 3-2 scoreline. We analyse Fulham's frailties in the match, ask if the squad are fatigued, and lament some questionable referee decisions. We also answer your questions on Andreas Pereira, Marco's substitutions and even the future of Mitrovic. Fulham are through to the last eight of the FA Cup for the first time since 2010, and they achieved it thanks to two absolute 'peaches' from Joao Palhinha and Manor Solomon. In this episode we react to the win, and Sammy gives his thoughts on the quarter-final draw against Manchester United. In part two, we look ahead to Monday night's game at Brentford, our first trip (with fans) to the GTech Community Stadium. Can Marco and the lads stop Brentford's 11 match unbeaten run in the league? After the highs of the wins against Forest and Brighton, Friday night's game against Wolves was a bit of a underwhelming evening. A poor first half performance saw us concede for the first time in the league for nearly three full matches, and trail at the break. However, once again Marco Silva was able to turn to his new suber sub Manor Solomon, whose brilliant strike saved the night. In this episode, we break down all the talking points from the game, answer a stack of your questions on subjects such as Solomon's potential starting berth, Fulham's impressive defence and Palhinha's collection of yellow cards. Finally, we discuss the ticket prices controversy for Tuesday night's game against Leeds United. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
After Saturday's win over Brighton, there's one question on everyone's lips, can we qualify for Europe? It would have been fanciful in August, but following that win over one of the league's finest sides, it feels eminently possible. In this episode we do the final word on Saturday's win and preview Friday's game against Wolves at the Cottage. Can we make it three league wins on the spin? Also in the podcast we speak to Hugh from the Fulham Foundation all about their away day cycle to Southampton. All the details of which can be found here. Wow. What an incredible afternoon that was at the Amex. A textbook 'smash and grab' win at one of the league's best sides. Brighton were on top for nearly the entire game, but Manor Solomon's late strike sealed three points in the 88th minute, and the away end went completely beserk. In today's podcast, we break down all the key action from the south coast, and answer a massive pile of questions. We rank the celebrations amongst other famous late winners, look at whether Solomon should start against Wolves and just why do Fulham get SO many yellow cards? This Saturday sees Fulham head to the Sussex coast to face an impressive Brighton and Hove Albion side. It's a battle of sixth versus seventh, and two of the season's surprise packages. We preview the match, and discuss Brighton's impressive model, which is surely one for Fulham to emulate in the coming years. In part two, Sammy chats to Simon Duke, who is the new chair of the Fulham Supporters Trust. On the agenda is his plans for the trust, and the FST's reaction to the £40 Leeds ticket prices which have caused huge controversy amongst much of the fanbase. Whilst we were all still extremely happy with how the season had been going, there was a nagging feeling that Fulham had gone a bit too long without either a league win or even a league goal, so Saturday's game against Nottingham Forest felt like an important one. Fortunately, Fulham did not slip up against our fellow promoted side, and picked up a comprehensive 2-0 win, that could have been a much bigger scoreline on another day. We look back at all the talking points from the game, including sensational performances from veterans Tim Ream and Willian. We were treated to a frantic and entertaining cup tie on Saturday, made all the better due to the fact both sides seem to be taking the tournament seriously this year. Marco Silva started a strong team, which included a first Fulham start for Manor Solomon, as the whites went toe to toe with a young and plucky Sunderland squad whose starting lineup contained just two players over the age of 22. An Issa Diop mistake gifted Black Cats winger Clarke a goal to put Sunderland in the lead, before our man Tom Cairney waltzed past the Sunderland backline in the second half to salvage us a replay at the Stadium of Light. While Fulham will wonder how they failed to find a way past the outstanding Anthony Patterson during the dying stages, they will also know not to expect an easy night when they travel up to Sunderland for the replay. A bit of a reality check for Marco Silva's men, as Fulham fell victim to a brilliant Harry Kane goal which sealed victory for Spurs at Craven Cottage on Monday. The game was as frustrating as TFLs revised timetable, as the boys in white failed to capitalise on early pressure and then were stifled out in the 2nd half thanks to Tottenham's game management. Yes, Fulham missed the opportunity to leapfrog our North London rivals and go 5th... However, despite the result there are still plenty of reasons to be cheerful. Fulham still sit 7th in the league, dreams of Europe live on, and we have a belter of a podcast for you to ease the frustration. Coops, Isabelle and JK are joined by creator and star of BBC's 'This Country' (and most importantly, avid Fulham fan) Charlie Cooper, who gives his take on Monday night's action. Now it certainly wasn't a classic… but Fulham put in a steely and determined performance against in-form Hull to progress to the 4th round of the FA Cup. 2022 ended with a bang on Saturday, as Joao Palhinha's late header gave Fulham a slightly undeserved 2-1 victory against Southampton. We wax lyrical over Harrison Reed and ask whether he should be getting a late England call-up, plus we heap praise on Willian and Andreas too. We also discuss Fulham's chopping and changing defence, which conceded yet more goals, but frankly when we can score this many, do we actually need to worry? Finally, in part three, Sammy chats to Drew, Stephen and Justin from Fulham Texas, an international FFC supporters club based in Austin. He went to the Hopsquad Brewing Company, where Whites fans in Austin congregate for each game, normally bright and early. Jack & Dan take a look back at Fulham's thumping 3-0 win over Aston Villa at the Cottage that saw Stevie G slip to his demise as Villains manager, ruminating on a very impressive performance from Marco Silva's men that once again saw spirits soar in black and white. Then we turn our attention to Leeds at Elland Road this weekend, with another misfiring manager on the brink in the Cottagers' crosshairs - can we pile the misery on Jesse Marsch after Leeds fell to defeat at Leicester in midweek? And finally, there's a stack of your questions, which we work our way through in Part Three! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
We analyse Fulham's 2-2 draw with the Cherries, as Marco Silva's side battled back twice to scramble a draw against Gary O'Neil's in form side. We look at our defensive frailties and the second half subs that breathed new life into Fulham after the break. In part two, we answer your questions on everything from Mitro's fitness to the state of the new Riverside Stand. Finally, we preview Thursday's match against Aston Villa at Craven Cottage. We begin the show with the final word from Sunday's match with West Ham, as the home side scored three controversial goals, leaving Marco Silva and the entire away end furious. Afterwards, we discuss Neeskens Kebano following Peter's brilliant interview with him in The Athletic. We discuss his topsy-turvy time at Fulham, and how Silva has managed to prise the best out of him. In part two, we discuss Saturday's massive match against Bournemouth at Craven Cottage. Can Fulham get back to winning ways against the Cherries? And will Aleksandar Mitrovic be back up front? Finally, we answer some questions and play a this'll catch on submission. Well... that was a frustrating afternoon. The sun was shining as The Whites marched on to East London, hoping to put the Newcastle loss behind us. After a superb opening spell Fulham, who were without Mitrovic, found themselves ahead after Andreas Pereira slammed home from the tightest of angles to open his Fulham account. But our hero quickly turned villain as the Brazilian was alleged to have fouled Craig Dawson from a corner, with Jarrod Bowen converting from the spot to equalise. West Ham then took the lead as Scamacca controlled a tidy through ball with his hand before lobbing Bernd Leno. To add insult to injury, in the dying embers, a defensive mix-up presented Michail Antonio (who also controlled the ball with his hand) with a third. Coops, Drew and Dom discuss an afternoon ruined by bad officiating and incorrect VAR decisions. We hope to put it behind us as we look ahead to an important home fixture against Bournemouth this weekend. In the second half of the pod Coops, Drew and Dom answer your listener questions. We begin with a final look at Saturday's defeat to Newcastle United, as we assess the extent of Fulham's mounting injury list and the impact it could have on this upcoming stretch of perceived "winnable" games. The first of those fixtures is West Ham on Sunday at the London Stadium. We look at the Hammers' shaky start, and whether their European exploits on Thursday will play a factor. In part two, Sammy chats to Martin Calladine from Ugly Game about Fulham's new CFD trading partners called Titan Capital Markets. Martin shares his research on this new firm, and the unbelievably high returns their offering for their targeted clientele. You can read Martin's full article here. Finally, we have some questions and a submission for This'll Catch On. Chris' JustGiving page for the Paul Alan Project can be found here. Learn more about your ad choices. Well that's burst the bubble a little bit hasn't it? Ten man Fulham fell to their first home defeat of the season, as Newcastle slaughtered our makeshift side time and time again. In the end, a 1-4 scoreline was quite a flattering one, as we had Bernd Leno to thank for the margin of victory not being wider. In this episode, we react to the defeat, discuss Nathaniel Chalobah's disastrous red card and answer some of your questions. There's also a look at Tom Cairney, and whether it was a mistake to overlook him for this match. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
We start with an international round-up, mainly focused on the exploits of Aleksandar Mitrović, who scored his 50th goal for Serbia on just his 76th cap. We discuss this extraordinary achievement and also look at other FFC players who repped their country in the past fortnight. Afterwards, we preview Saturday's game against Newcastle United, the first game at Craven Cottage since August! We debate what Silva should do in the absence of Joao Palhinha, and discuss Eddie Howe's own selection issues. Finally, we have some interesting questions on Mitro's deep-lying positions and what has happened to Michael Hector. Finally, a couple of lovely "this'll catch on" submissions for our Portuguese midfield dynamo. Love Fulhamish? If so, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. The international break is here, and Fulham find themselves in an incredible sixth position in the table. A pause in the season means there is some time to reflect and assess exactly how the start of the season has gone, and as you'd expect, there are quite a lot of plaudits. We give our viewpoint on where FFC stand, and have a look at the rest of the league. We also discuss whether Harrison Reed could potentially earn himself an England call-up if he continues this vein of form, plus also maybe ask if Fulham's defensive numbers give any cause for concern. In part two, we take questions from our Fulhamish Community. We discuss our favourite pubs, what we'd do if we ran Fulham and amusing Fulhamish moments from down the years. Love Fulhamish? Ohh boy this was a good one, Fulham are now SIXTH in the Premier League table after notching up their first away win of the season, a 3-2 win at the City Ground against fellow promoted side Nottingham Forest. We react to all the key talking points, including and especially, the breath-taking five minute goal glut where Fulham turned the game on its head. We take a look at the virtuoso performances of Joao Palhinha and Harrison Reed, plus react to Issa Diop's full Premier League debut. In part two, we answer your questions on Fulham's porous defence, how to replace Joao against Newcastle and a revised prediction of where FFC will finish this season. Love Fulhamish?
