Pedro Bonifacio Palacios, más conocido por su seudónimo Almafuerte, fue un poeta periodista y maestro argentino. Nació el 13 de mayo de 1854 en San Justo y murió el 28 de febrero de 1917 en La Plata.Corriente literaria: Poesía moral, social y combativa. Tuvo una vida muy difícil, marcada por la pobreza y la pérdida temprana de su madre. Trabajó como maestro rural, pero fue destituido por sus ideas y su forma independiente de pensar. Crió cinco niños huérfanos, hijos de amigos fallecidos, a quienes educó como propios. Fue conocido por su carácter fuerte y crítico, lo que se refleja en su poesía. Entre sus poemas más conocidos están: “¡Avanti!”“Piu Avanti!”“La sombra de la patria”“Lamentaciones”“Milongas clásicas”Su poesía se caracteriza por un tono enérgico, moralista y exhortativo, que anima a luchar frente a las dificultades. Un verso famoso: De su poema “Piu Avanti”:“No te des por vencido, ni aun vencido; no te sientas esclavo, ni aun esclavo…” Este poema se volvió muy popular en el mundo hispano por su mensaje de fortaleza y perseverancia.“La siguiente pieza es Beethoven Oda a la alegría.
