What do characters do when their author abandons them?Nick chats with Megan Good (Elizabeth Watson), Amanda Benzecry (Lady Osborne) and Sarah Kitchen (Nanny) about Putney's latest production, based on Jane Austen's unfinished novel, adapted by Laura Wade. The Watsons is directed by Stuart (not related) Watson.Nineteen and new in town, Emma Watson has been cast off by her rich aunt and banished back to the family home. Unless she can marry, and quickly, she faces a life of impoverished spinsterhood, dependent on her boorish brother and his ghastly wife.Fortunately, a ball is being held in town, and she has plenty of suitors to dance with, from debonair but fickle Tom Musgrave to loaded but awkward Lord Osborne. Whose advances should she accept? But that's where Jane Austen put down her pen. Two centuries later Emma's happy ending still hangs in the balance. Who will step in to finish the story? Laura Wade's inventive, sparklingly witty play looks under the bonnet of Jane Austen and asks: What happens when the writer loses the plot?Cast Emma Watson — Emily MarkElizabeth Watson — Megan GoodMargaret Watson — Jessica HearnRobert Watson — Peter CollinsMrs Robert — Kathryn FeltonMr Watson — Perry KitchenNanny — Sarah KitchenTom Musgrave — Alex ReinLord Osborne — Columbus MasonLady Osborne — Amanda BenzecryMiss Osborne — Alexandra GallacherMr Howard — David MillerMrs Edwards — Rhonda LidgoldMr Edwards — Chris RoutledgeLaura — Amelia Roden KirkOfficers of the Militia — Jared PearlTuesday 21 to Saturday 25 April 2026, on the main stage at Putney Arts Theatre._______________________________The Putney Theatre Company at The South West End! In 1647, inside St Mary's Church in Putney, army generals sat alongside ordinary soldiers to debate nothing less than the future of the nation. Should political power remain in the hands of property owners, as it always had? Or could it be a birthright - something every man possessed simply by being born? In this episode, we step into the Putney Debates, where soldiers, radicals, and reformers wrestled with bold, world shaping ideas about rights, representation, and how society should be governed. This is part two of People and Power, our miniseries exploring how people across British history have challenged authority and fought for their voices to be heard. Our guests are Dr Neil Johnston, historian at The National Archives, and Dr Erica Canela, a public historian.

Mason Cosby connects with Putney Cloos, the Chief Marketing Officer at Bombora, to clarify exactly what intent data is and how revenue teams should use it. While many marketers view intent data strictly as a tool for sales prioritization, Putney argues that the use cases go much deeper. She explains the difference between first-party data collected from owned properties and third-party data gathered from across the web.ㅤA major focus of the conversation is data provenance. Putney highlights a critical but often overlooked question: Does your data provider actually have the right to use the data they sell? She details how Bombora uses a proprietary tag within a data co-op to ensure consent is explicitly granted for intent tracking.ㅤMason and Putney also explore how to operationalize this data without buying a massive, all-in-one platform. They discuss the "unbundled" ABM stack, where data is ported directly into the tools teams already use, such as CRMs, CDPs, or advertising platforms like The Trade Desk and LinkedIn.ㅤGuest BioPutney Cloos is the Chief Marketing Officer at Bombora, where she leads marketing and communications to expand the company's "Data Co-op" and intent data solutions. She previously served as CMO at Cision, where she built the company's first account-level data strategy. Putney also spent nearly a decade at American Express, rising to Vice President of Commercial Demand Generation and creating Amex's first commercial demand-generation and ABM capabilities. She holds an AB from Harvard College and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.ㅤWhat We CoverDefining intent data: Putney clarifies that intent is behavioral data showing when a company is actively researching a solution, distinct from static firmographic data.First-party vs. third-party signals: The difference between tracking known visitors on your own site versus capturing research behaviors across the broader B2B internet. The importance of data rights: Why marketers must ask if their provider has explicit consent to use data for intent purposes, rather than relying on repurposed bidstream data.Reducing customer churn: How customer success teams use intent signals to spot when current clients start researching competitors before the renewal conversation happens.Informing the product roadmap: Using search behavior to identify unmet market needs or features that prospects are actively seeking. The unbundled tech stack: How to deploy intent data directly into existing platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, or programmatic ad exchanges without needing a standalone ABM platform.Start simple: Putney's advice to pick one specific use case—like sales prioritization—and master it before adding...

If you're not transforming, you're getting left behind. That reality makes transformation anything but presto change; it's a mindset shift, sustained motion, and a clear "why" your people can see themselves in. To turn that into visible progress while keeping the ship pointed at a destination the business recognizes, Drew brings together Chris Pieper (ADP), Putney Cloos (Bombora), and David Levy (Foundever) to share how each leads transformation across differently scaled organizations. From making progress visible to earning belief across the org and sustaining momentum through the messy middle, they show how change takes hold. In this episode: Chris pilots with sales champions, proves pipeline impact, and turns small wins into momentum. Putney makes the case for change, maps "scrappy to industrial strength" milestones, and scales what works. David runs parallel lanes to protect the core while building the future, aligning his org to work ambidextrously. Plus: How to make progress visible with simple roadmaps and real milestones. How pilots, quick wins, and pipeline proof bring sales along. Why stopping low-value work frees resources for what matters. What to hire for in ambiguity: people who try new things and move fast. Tune in if you are steering big change and want practical ways to show progress, win belief, and keep momentum through the messy middle. This episode features an interview with Putney Cloos, CMO at Bombora, a B2B data pioneer that connects the B2B ecosystem in a one-of-a-kind Data Co-op of leading publishers, brand websites, and premium data providers.Putney dives into the criticality of intent data in budding your go-to-market motions, the importance of measuring ROI across a long sales cycles and playing the long game in PR. Key Takeaways:While we all need to be rethinking search and paying attention to how the world is changing, we shouldn't abandon traditional search entirely, or too quickly. It still has a significant role. While some see PR as an old-school tactic, it's a very high return tactic. Marketers should leverage the fact that journalists are under pressure to find stories and should be reaching out before there is a deadline to they are top of mind. An AI thought-partner doesn't care when you throw out the entire brainstorm or trash an hour of work, making AI a great thought partner. Quote:“One thing that we're all struggling with, or thinking about at least, is traditional search. I think we all need to learn and think about, how does the world change? But the reality is in aggregate, traditional search still plays a pretty significant role. We're not going to throw the baby out with the bath water. We have to think about how we position ourselves as the world changes, but continue to do sort of old school investment and test and learn in the traditional search channels.”Episode Timestamps: *(04:16) The Trust Tree: Selling to publishers *(19:43) The Playbook: Invest in high quality intent data *(41:36) The Dust Up: Conflict during the interview process*(45:06) Quick Hits: Putney's quick hits Sponsor:Pipeline Visionaries is brought to you by Qualified.com. "The long term survival of life on earth has never really been in doubt...it's the survival of homo sapiens that has been in question." That stark reminder, or perhaps warning, comes from one of the central characters in the new novel by Vermont author Tim Weed called "The Afterlife Project."Guest host Mitch Wertlieb speaks with the Putney-based writer about what inspired his book--which blends elements of climate fact with science fiction, telling a story that stretches from the not too distant future to a world that in ten thousand years is visited by one man who may or may not be the last surviving member of an otherwise wiped-out human race.Plus, we'll discuss some of the better ways you can feel like the last person on earth by exploring great out-of-the-way wilderness hikes with Claire Polfus, a recreation program manager for the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.

Iain has arrived on the ground in Augusta, while Andrew and Eddie tell themselves that it's just as much fun preparing the different sporting challenges that await in Putney and The United Arab Emirates. As well as a preview of things yet to come in Georgia, we take a look at events from the weekend on the various tours (although we lost our way and forgot to mention Madelene Sagström's matchplay win over Lauren Coughlin in Las Vegas). We do, though, talk about ANWA and also fondly remember one of Britain's greatest amateur golfers, Peter McEvoy.Visit biggolfrace.prostatecanceruk.orgVisit petermillar.co.ukWatch Iain, Eddie and Andrew, the glory years: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06351k6/clips Hosted on Acast. For as long as Carly Berlin has been reporting on housing issues for Vermont Public and VTDigger, she's been hearing some version of this question: Is Vermont's rise in homelessness due to unhoused people moving here from out-of-state?She hasn't been able to track down an easy answer to this question. And in the absence of information, the idea that Vermont's benefits are a “magnet” for those experiencing homelessness has taken root, from the aisles of grocery stores to the Statehouse floor. It's a narrative that's shaping the conversation about homelessness in Vermont, and what the state should do to address it.But is it even true? In this episode, Carly goes digging for data.Find the web version of this story here. Thanks to Joseph Valaske and Mark Tarmy of Putney for sharing their curiosity with us. Following the attenpt by parliament to close the army down without pay, and the resulting August 1647 coup, the army was a seething mass of worries and resentments. Thrown into the mix were the radical political ideas of the Levellers. Together, all of this threatened chaos and even mutiny. So Cromwell and Fairfax invited representatives of their brothers in arms to thrash all of this out in the open forum of the General Council of the Army, at the church of Sy Mary's in Putney, in October 1647. The resulting discusson is the earliest example of demands for genuine democratic reform in English history. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
