Chelsea punished Fulham with an almost identical reflection of our Boxing Day joy as George and Pedro Neto slotted home two sleek finishes. A powerful first-half display from Fulham, starring superb performances from Pereira and Sessegnon, resulted in an Iwobi goal that unfortunately was not enough to make the most of tidy results elsewhere in the race for 8th. Jack is joined by Yasmin and Farrell to take a closer look at what went wrong at the Cottage on Easter Sunday. Substitutions are a key talking point on the pod and whether the absence of Muniz was felt in the squad. They also provide some needed perspective to put aside Fulham fans' glaring blues. In part two, they answer some of your listener questions. Are some of Silva's tactical failings something to consider as Spurs continue to eye up his transfer? They revel in Sess' stunner, Iwobi's deflected finish and Muniz's beauty that all secured a convincing first-half lead, delving into the details of how Muniz put in an all-round composed striker's performance against Van Dijk. Fulham shattered the illusion of an indomitable Liverpool side as a flurry of three goals in fifteen minutes toppled the league leaders to only their second defeat of the season. George is joined by Drew, Luke Resch and, making his pod debut, Piers Cottee-Jones to revel in Fulham's glory. They look back on Sess making his first start at the Cottage as he dropped a perfectly placed goal to further his case for remaining firmly as a winger. A series of Robertson shockers set up Iwobi for the second. Jack Collins' prediction of Iwobi reaching double figures in both goals and assists is looking even more peachy. Even if the assists include the more questionable ones to Muniz. They reflect on Muniz's development as a striker throughout the season as he pulls off a Pele-esque turn to secure a third. Fulham have not got a great history against Arsenal at the Emirates, never having won there, but it was a game that added insult to injury. After a dire weekend for Fulham in the FA Cup, there was hope that the team could allow us to half forget our woes but Saka's inevitable narrative turned up to sour them again. Jack Collins and Elizabeth Barnard take a look back at Fulham's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in the week. They dissect Silva's decision to revert to five at the back, bringing Cuenca back into the starting line-up. Was this decision mainly made in order to rest tired players in Bassey and Iwobi or did it risk Fulham's result too much? A huge miss from Muniz meant that a short come-back in the second half remained unfruitful. The debate for Raul or Rodrigo to start remains in place for the game against Liverpool. In part two, they look forward to Liverpool, discussing how the team should set-up in order to put in a performance to at least test the league leaders, and they answer some of your listener questions. Why are Fulham still holding on to Reiss Nelson whilst he's injured? Which younger players around Europe should Fulham be looking to sign in the future?--SHOW-LINKS:If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. A nice sunny afternoon was ruined by a last-minute Joao Pedro penalty that secured Brighton a 2-1 victory over Fulham. An important fixture in the wider European discussion saw Brighton edge Fulham to snatch a handy point away from their finger tips. George is joined on the pod by Dan Cooke, Issy Barker and Jack Stroudly to run over where Fulham fell below par on Saturday afternoon. They reflect on whether Silva's decision to set-up with a back five restricted our attacking drive, only managing a goal against the run of play and from a magical Iwobi moment. Emile Smith Rowe's form remains in the conversation as his lack of progression begins to frustrate. Where does this missed opportunity for a point leave Fulham in the European picture and are we getting too ahead of ourselves in our ambition's for the team?In part two, they answer some of your listener questions. Would Godo and King have provided some youthful spark to the final stages of the game and are we seeing a Pereira redemption arc?--SHOW-LINKS:If you enjoy Fulhamish, please consider contributing a small amount monthly to help pay our costs. After a quiet transfer deadline day evening, Sammy and Jack debate whether there perhaps should have been a bit more action from Fulham. Should the club really be re-signing a 36-year-old Willian and should we be seeing the entrance of the right-back that Silva asked for?The Premier League takes a break this weekend to make way for the FA Cup fourth round and Fulham make the trip to the north-west to face Wigan. It's not the most cheery of stadiums to visit as Wigan are in the promotion places for the 'most miserable' fans in League One, despite their pie fame. Sammy and Jack consider whether there should be some rotation of key players, especially Robinson and Iwobi who are facing relentless game time. It should be a fun tie at the Brick Community Stadium that hopefully sees Fulham begin a 2025 FA Cup run.In part two, they answer your listener questions. Is the fan base a little too grumpy at present and is some perspective needed? Have Fulham finally broken their third shirt curse and exited the slump? Substitute, Adama Traore set up Alex Iwobi in the 7th minute of stoppage time and Alex Iwobi made no mistakes when he cut in and slotted the ball into the left-hand side of the net. It was lovely to see two Nigerians win such a big game for their team Taiwo Awoniyi assisted Niakhate's first half goal. He was taken off at half time and will be assessed as he really hasn't returned to full fitness.  Emmanuel Dennis scored Watford's only goal in their loss at home to Huddersfield. Dennis put his team up in the 55th minute, but goals in the 70th and 83rd minute from Danny Ward won the 3 points for Huddersfield and leaves Watford 11th in the EFL Championship  Victor Osimhen returned to the starting lineup for Napoli in their UCL round of 16 home game against Barcelona. Robert Lewandowski put the visitors ahead in the 60th minute before Osimhen pulled on back for Napoli in the 75th minute to earn a draw before heading to Barcelona for the return leg on March 12.  Away at Cagliari, Osimhen put his team up in the 65th minute and Napoli seemed to be on their way to a victory that would have moved the team up to 8th, but Zito Luvumbo scored a 96th-minute equalizer for both teams to share a point. Cyriel Dessers scored two goals against Hearts in Rangers home game against Hearts. Rangers won the game 5-0. Dessers continues his wonderful season in which he now has 16 goals and 5 assists in all competitions. Could be catching the attention of some clubs in the top 5 leagues. Ebenezer Akinsanmiro (19) made his Inter Milan debut in their away game against Lecce in which they won 4-0. Inter remain 1st on the table. Akinsanmiro had previously played for Remo Stars and Inter's U-19 team.  The Super Falcons defeated the indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 1-0 in the Moshood Abiola national stadium in Abuja. Esther Okoronkwo scored Nigeria's only goal in the 2024 Olympics qualifying match and the team will face the winners of the South Africa vs Tanzania game which will be played tomorrow. Their next match will be in April against South Africa Other performances to note: Moses Simon got the assist for Nantes' only goal in their 1-0 win against Lorient. Nantes now 12th in the league from 16th Yira Collins Sor scored Genk's only goal against in their 1-0 win against Chaleroi Check out our Youtube Channel where you can also watch the episode: https://bit.ly/NigeriaFootballWeekly Linktree - https://linktr.ee/nigeriafootballweekly  Twitter - https://twitter.com/NFWPod  Host: @GoonerTwin Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/nigeriafootballweekly/   TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@nigeriafootballweekly  Facebook page Link - https://www.facebook.com/NigeriaFootballWeekly  Email - nigeriafootballweekly@gmail.com  Anchor Link:  https://anchor.fm/nigeriafootballweekly  Podfollow:  https://podfollow.com/nigeria-football-weekly --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nigeriafootballweekly/message

The Power Trio is back in full force to capture all the magic of a massive 1-0 win at Goodison that sends Leeds and our American brethren into the relegation zone and Everton to safety (at least for now). Alex, James, and Ryan are here to get into the lineups, tactics, the ebbs, the flows, and the massive goal by 60 Grand Seamus Coleman to send the Goodison crowd into uproar. While not the prettiest match, there was a lot to talk about: -An unchanged but much maligned backline -The key matchup of Coleman (and Iwobi) vs. Gnonto -The performance of Neal Maupay (aka the Moped) -How Everton actually created chances in the final third (and why they were so poor at converting them)  We've got lots of listener comments, interesting stats, and some classic AJR interplay to make this one of our most enjoyable episodes in some time. Enjoy!
