This was the first set at the West Hampstead Arts Club last November when Luke Morley was our Special Guest. Willie happened to be there and Jon and I immediately got him up to chat during the first half. Golden era Kerrang! readers will remember Willie from Brit Rock sensations The Grip. But in the early 90s I also managed his then band Cat People. That's a Cat People track that opens and ends the pod. It's called 'Tough At The Top'. It was never released. After that he formed Honeycrack with CJ from the Wildhearts and after that he did a million other brilliant things. Check out his current outfit The Dowling Poole. Also his latest solo album The Simpleton. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

For reasons I can't actually recall but assume - coming as it did at exactly the halfway point between my disastrous bowel op in Dec 24 and my even more calamitous heart 'event' in Jun 25 - I just forgot about it. Something I seem to have done about most things during that terrible six-month hell (our eviction notice came the day after this interview). Anyway, here it is now, two old boys who go so far back they communicate in words only so others might have some clue as to what they're on about. LMK what you think. Hosted on Acast.
