Episode 20 of Season 4 aired at 7 pm on Rebel  Rock Radio on 20 May 2021.  We kicked it off in grand style with Danko Jones and a track called 'Party'.  Ozzy Osbourne's 'Scary Little Green Men' sounded great and it's amazing how well Uriah Heep's 'Look At Yourself' stands up  50 years later.  One of my favorite parts of the show was Queensrÿche's 'The Thin Line' off Empire which is an absolute masterpiece of an album followed by Coheed & Cambia with a track called 'The Dark Sentencer'.  I did take the opportunity to give you some suggestions about what to do when it comes to Coheed and Cambria, you should do that :-).  Punk from The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers and Anti-Flag, Jimmy Barnes & ACDC from Australia, and Rabbitt, Arno Carstens, L.A. Great to have Danny Bowes return to the CrowCast, for those not aware we first spoke with Danny months ago but sadly the audio wasn't usable for the Podcast, the episode is till available to watch via our YouTube channel. On this episode we catch up and see how Danny has been throughout the pandemic, we also chat about the stunning New Thunder releases 'All The Right Noises ' and the new book 'The First 50 years" thats in the works. This was a lovely laid back, comical episode jammed with so many entertaining stories. Thunder are an English hard rock band from London. Formed in 1989, the group was founded by former Terraplane members Danny Bowes (lead vocals), Luke Morley (guitar, backing vocals) and Gary 'Harry' James (drums), along with second guitarist and keyboardist Ben Mathews and bassist Mark "Snake" Luckhurst. Originally signed to EMI Records in the UK, the band released their debut album Backstreet Symphony in 1990, which reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart and number 114 on the US Billboard 200. The 1992 follow-up Laughing on Judgement Day reached number 2, while both albums were certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). All nine singles released from the two albums reached the UK Singles Chart top 40.Luckhurst left the band in late 1992, and was replaced the following February by former Great King Rat bassist Mikael Höglund. The new lineup recorded only one studio album, Behind Closed Doors, which peaked at number 5 in the UK and spawned three UK top 40 singles. The 1995 compilation Their Finest Hour (And a Bit) reached number 22 in the UK and was certified silver by the BPI. Höglund left in 1996 and was replaced by Chris Childs, after Morley performed bass on fourth album The Thrill of It All, which reached the UK top 20. Thunder's 1998 live album Live reached number 35 on the UK Albums Chart, while the following year's fifth studio album Giving the Game Away reached number 49. The band broke up in early 2000 due to "outside business forces".After a brief hiatus, Thunder returned in 2002 and formed their own record label, STC Recordings. The band's sixth studio album Shooting at the Sun was released the following year, supported by the UK top 50 single "Loser". After three more new studio albums – 2005's The Magnificent Seventh, 2006's Robert Johnson's Tombstone and 2008's Bang! – Thunder decided to break up in 2009. Two years later, however, the group returned for a third active spell, scheduling a number of sporadic live shows over the following years. A tenth studio album, Wonder Days, was released on the earMusic label in 2015, giving the band their first UK top ten since 1995 when it peaked at number 9. To keep with the spirit of the Irish we welcome one of their own to this weeks show.  Jon 'The  Mc Vernomatic " Verno welcomes Irish Rocker Ricky Warwick to the show. Metal Forever Mark and "McVernomatic" share some past concerts shenanigans in a holiday edition of METAL CONFESSIONS. Ricky Warwick is a Northern Irish musician and songwriter, and the lead singer with Black Star Riders and Thin Lizzy. He is also the frontman for the Scottish hard rock band The Almighty. with whom he achieved chart success in the UK throughout the 1990s. Warwick has released several solo albums and performed with a variety of other bands and artists, and also fronts his own band, The Fighting Hearts, to showcase his solo material.Warwick gained notoriety when he was asked to join a revised version of Thin Lizzy by long time thin Lizzy member Scott Gorham. In September 2009, Gorham began to assemble a new version of Thin Lizzy, and in May 2010 a new line-up was announced. Joining Gorham was original drummer Brian Downey, long-standing keyboardist Darren Wharton, Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell, and singer Ricky Warwick from The Almighty, while Marco Mendoza returned to fill the bass guitar role. In April 2011 the band announced that Vivian Campbell would be leaving Thin Lizzy amicably to rejoin Def Leppard after one final gig on 28 May. He was replaced by Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus.[46] On 28 August, it was announced that Damon Johnson of Alice Cooper's band would be replacing Fortus for Thin Lizzy's tour of the US with Judas Priest. Fortus returned to tour with Guns N' Roses for the rest of the year, and Johnson has since replaced Fortus permanently. On 10 October 2012, Thin Lizzy announced that the new material would not be released under the Thin Lizzy name, but would be released under the name of Black Star Riders.. According to Gorham, this was "out of respect to Phil Lynott and the legacy he created", though he confirmed that the new material would feature the classic Thin Lizzy sound. Ricky Warwick announced that the group would cease regular touring as Thin Lizzy at the end of 2012,  Today sees Ricky Warwick release his first solo record in five years with 'When Life Was Hard And Fast'. To celebrate the release of the new album, For the process of recording the album, Ricky was joined by Robert Crane (Bass), Xavier Muriel (Drums) and Keith Nelson (Guitar) as well as a number of special guests including Def Leppard's Joe Elliott, Andy Taylor formerly of Duran Duran, Thunder's Luke Morley, Dizzy Reed of the mighty Guns 'N Roses and even Ricky's daughter Pepper. Keith also produced the new album, having previously worked with Buckcherry, Blackberry Smoke and Alice Cooper. Keith noted that "Ricky is a true Rock-n-Roll soul... he's got incredible stories to tell and a unique way of telling them. It's been an honor to be asked to partner and contribute to this record.” Vernomatic gets the details of how Black Star Riders and Thin Lizzy have a unique connection to the Metal world. Unleashing his 5th solo album, When Life Was Hard & Fast, Ricky Warwick aimed to deliver a collection of songs with the simplistic melodies of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers charged with the electric hedonistic fury of Johnny Thunders And The Heartbreakers. And, boy, has he done that!Somehow The Almighty, Black Star Riders, Thin Lizzy frontman has managed to squeeze in the release of the album amidst sell-out live virtual shows and lockdown, all with a little help from his friends. And, of course, these are no ‘ordinary’ friends. As well as ex-Buckcherry Keith Nelson producing the record, it features another ex-Buckcherry band member, Xavier Muriel, alongside Black Star Riders’ Robert Crane and guest appearances from: Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor, Thunder’s Luke Morley, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, Guns n Roses Dizzy Reed and non other than Ricky’s daughter Pepper.
