Well here we are again, another 8 game losing streak this season.On Thursday in Philly the Kings played a hard fought game and ended up losing on a final shot by Tyrese Maxey. The next night in Boston they simply didn't have any juice left to hang with the Celtics as they get blown out.While the Kings have looked good in stretches on this road trip, it's still a loss in the win-loss column. The Kings played well for 3 and half quarters. They played good defense, forced the Knicks into a lot of silly turnovers, and Demar was carrying the Kings on offense. But the floor fell out from under them in the final 4 minutes as the Knicks go on a run to win the game going away.Under the surface of this loss is also a game within a game regarding the King's offense. The game started out 16-2 for the Cavs and the Kings looked absolutely cooked. It's a struggle the Kings have dealt with the entire season, when they're not getting stops and subsequent transition buckets, their half court offense isn't reliable enough to keep up with most teams in the league.And that's the main issue the Kings have faced in their 3rd loss in a row, their half court offense is slow, unimaginative and oh so stagnant. The Kings faced the Warriors in a battle of offensive philosophies. The Kings rely on their players to create shots through isolations while 3 or 4 players stand around and space, and the Warriors do it through moving the ball all over the floor combined with constant player movement.For about 2 and a half quarters, the Kings and Warriors traded leads. It was a tale of 3 and half quarters. For most of the game, the Kings looked hapless on both ends of the floor, they can't stop the Bucks offense and most definitely not Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Kings start 2026 on a bit of a bummer, losing their first 2 games back to back against the Celtics and Suns.Both games did see the return of a fast paced attack of the Kings with plenty of ball movement and activity on defense. But both games then saw them kind of gas out eventually. The Kings come out of Christmas by getting a terrific win over the Mavericks in the G1C.
