Well it was not to be, the Kings were not able to jump into the top 4 of the draft with a 3.8% odds of doing it.Instead, it was the Mavericks, the team that demolished the Kings a month ago in the Play-In that get the #1 pick and the Spurs, the team that the Kings traded De'Aaron Fox to, who get the #2 pick.This is compounded by their pick going to Atlanta from the Kevin Huerter trade, so not a great day for the Kings. The Kings made a few changes to their coaching staff by letting go of a lot of the assistant coaches from last year. Scott Perry had his introductory press conference and it's fair to say he won the press conference. Well, Wrestlemania 41 happened and if anything it was eventful. Reviews were mixed but a lot came out of it that's for sure. Well, that was quick. The Kings beat the Suns on the final day of the season in what was a formality. Well, the Kings fought hard, but it still wasn't enough. The Kings were simply outmatched, they're just too small for the Nuggets. Add to that Kings fans were introduced to Jalen Pickett, it just wasn't the Kings night.While the Kings had a fair share of injuries, the Kings simply don't match up well against the Nuggets size, particularly in the frontcourt. They could not stop the Nuggets inside and they just got easy bucket after easy bucket. Well, at least this game gave fans hope I guess. The Kings had the lead for much of the game by playing the beautiful game, moving the ball, playing with pace and getting great shots out of it.And then the 4th quarter happened, Kings went to Demar DeRozan isos a lot where he did his thing while the other 4 guys just watched. While it a terrible strategy, it took them away from their beautiful game. It's been a tough 2 days for the Kings. First they lose on a buzzer beater in overtime against the Clipper. The much anticipated return of De'Aaron Fox finally happened. The Kings get a get-right game against the Hornets and handily beat them by 42. It was a tale of 2-Kings though, the 1st half and the 4th quarter, and the disastrous 3rd quarter.In the 3 quarters where the Kings went bonkers, the Kings had incredible ball movement and flawless execution on the offensive end. And on the other side they played with physicality and intensity on the defensive end to completely demolish the Hornets.The 3rd quarter was some of the worst basketball the Kings had played this season, headlined by 8 of the worst turnovers that makes you question how these players made the pros.Which one of these Kings teams will show up more often down the stretch? How will they fare against teams that aren't as decrepit as the Hornets? It's never easy with the Kings, and it's even worse when it's the Cardiac Kings. The Kings started out the game horribly, they went down 20 in the first quarter where they were scored on at will from the outside and the inside.Then the Kings slowly got into rhythm, their bench came in and changed the game, the starters then built off that momentum and by the start of the 4th, the Kings were up 11.The Kings then increased that lead to 18 before it completely evaporated and it became a back and forth game. Well the Lavine Era of the Kings has not gotten off to a good start as they lose in a back to back against the Magic and the Blazers. The offense is a work in progress as Lavine takes time to get comfortable and the defense ..... has not been great. Both games was against elite defenses with great length that play with incredible physicality, so not exactly the ideal teams to figure things out. Kings have always had a bad habit of playing down to the level of their competition. This game was no different, with the Nets missing multiple rotation players, they jumped out on the Kings and got to big lead early and the Kings played catch up for the much of the game. The Kings were able to turn the tide however in the 2nd half and close it out early in the 4th, but it was way harder than it needed to be. The Kings get back into the win column but these kinds of games, even when they win them can be frustrating watches as we all know the Kings are able to play better. It was a tough gritty win by the Kings, but boy did they put their fans through all the emotions in it. The Kings were facing a Rockets team that just played in Denver the night before and for stretches, made it look just that way as they caused the Rockets to make silly turnovers and allowing the Kings to build big leads off of it. But the Rockets would keep fighting, a 16 point Kings lead in the 3rd turned into a 5 point lead heading into the 4th, a 9 point lead in crunch time turned into a 1 point lead a minute later, it was the worst version of Cardiac Kings basketball. Kings are now streaking as they win their 5th game in a row. The first win against in Chase was an impressive demolishing of the Warriors on the road. They led the entire game and ended up controlling the game and leading by double digits from the 2nd quarter and on. The Kings played free and their defense was very solid all night, it really showed them rounding into form under Coach Doug Christie. The next night was also a spectacle, the Kings traveled back to the G1C to face the Heat, and it was great. The Kings fell down big in the 4th but were able to come back down 17 to win in double OT with everyone on the Kings making plays to bring the Kings to victory. The Kings have now won 3 in a row, and this win the most impressive. While the Grizzlies were missing Ja and an assortment of role players, they are a machine and a very formidable foe. No matter what the Kings did the Grizzlies kept coming and it even got chippy in moments but the Kings answered every run the Grizzlies hit them with and end up with the win.
