The Sacramento Kings win against the Toronto Raptors 123-115In this episode of The Royal Report I discuss the double revenge game for DeMar DeRozan and Precious Achiuwa, the Raptors horrible half court offense, and Nique Clifford struggling playing the point.
Kings get an impressive win in Toronto. This wasn't some team that had phoned it in for the rest of the season. The Raptors are currently fighting for playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference and the Kings just dealt a huge blow to them in that regard. The Raptors looked as though they would overwhelm the Kings with their on ball pressure and athleticism, but Precious Achiuwa dominated the glass to give the Kings the advantage going into the half. And in the 2nd half, the Kings turned the Raptors pressure against them and outlasted the Raptors on their home floor. These are the kinds of wins that build a team's culture and despite losing ground again in the reverse standings, this win could help the Kings long term going into the future.Use code SKT15 on checkout to get 15% off from HYVDesigns on Etsy during checkout or use this link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/hyvdesigns/?etsrc=sdt&coupon=SKT15Intro Music by Blue Dot Sessions. https://www.sessions.blueIf you want to email us: kingtherapypod@gmail.com

Sacramento Kings win against the New York Knicks 112-101In this episode of The Royal Report I discuss the Sacramento Kings being on a 3 game win streak, DeMar DeRozan being very impressive offensively in this stretch, and the Precious Achiuwa revenge game against the Knicks.
The Kings extend their winning streak to their longest of the season at 3 games after beating the Knicks in this long homestand. The Kings played terrific defense and the Knicks shot horrifically from the outside and weren't much better inside. On the offensive end they moved the ball and played with an extra physicality. That plus the incredible play of Precious Achiuwa who definitely wanted to stick it to his former team, the Kings definitely outplayed the Knicks on this night.Use code SKT15 on checkout to get 15% off from HYVDesigns on Etsy during checkout or use this link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/hyvdesigns/?etsrc=sdt&coupon=SKT15Intro Music by Blue Dot Sessions. https://www.sessions.blueIf you want to email us: kingtherapypod@gmail.com

Every year there's a surprise NFL head coach firing. Last year it was Mike Vrabel. Who are the potential shocking firings this year? Is there a team in a dome or warm weather that would need a QB that could be a fit for Kirk Cousins? C-Lo returns for an update and starts with some Jets talk. Mike Vrabel is interviewing with them today. C-Lo went around the NBA yesterday. Jimmy Butler seems to want out of Miami. We heard from Jerry Recco on the call as Rutgers lost to Indiana. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer continues his love of Precious Achiuwa. A caller wonders if Sean McDermott is on the hot seat if they get bounced in the first playoff game.
Hour 1 When we come back on Monday, it's ‘black Monday', where NFL coaches get fired. Will we get another regime change for the Giants? Boomer doesn't think any of the QBs in the draft are good enough for the Giants to trade up for. Boomer can see the Giants getting Carson Wentz as a ‘stop gap' quarterback. If Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll stay, what will the fans think if they're sitting at 1-7 midway through the season? C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update of the day. He starts with audio of Saquon Barkley doing a commercial for a sleep aid where he takes a shot at the Giants and John Mara. C-Lo and Boomer then talked about the Rangers and the rest of us were bored. We then got into some sound from the Steelers postgame between George Pickens and Russell Wilson. In the final segment of the hour, Gio talked about a few documentaries he watched yesterday. One was on the artist Avicii and one was on a guy who's trying to slow down aging called, ‘Don't Die'. Hour 2 We have two games on Saturday: Browns at Ravens and Bengals at Steelers. If the Ravens win, they win the division. Boomer wonders if Mike Tomlin will rest players if the Ravens win. Gio said the Steelers should not rest players and try and win so they go to Houston instead of having to play Baltimore. The Steelers always have winning seasons, but they have not won a playoff game in a really long time. It feels like it's going to be the Chiefs again in the AFC. We talked about the huge Vikings/Lions game. Gio is worried about the Vikings if they have to play in Philadelphia. C-Lo returns for an update and he and Boomer get into the Rangers for a few minutes. Mike Vrabel is interviewing with the Jets today. Boomer wonders who the GM would be if Vrabel is the head coach. Boomer said Vrabel is a guy who could change the culture. Gio would be impressed if the Jets can land him. Mike Tomlin talked about having to get the stink off this week as they play the Bengals. Kliff Kingsbury was asked if he wants to be a head coach again after his success in Washington. Notre Dame won the Sugar Bowl and had a huge kickoff return. In the final segment of the hour, Eddie is out again because he's observing wolves in Wyoming. Hour 3 Every year there's a surprise NFL head coach firing. Hour 4 We talked about Mike Vrabel interviewing with the Jets. Gio would be shocked if the Jets could convince him to coach the Jets. Boomer said you can't let him out of the building today. Gio suggests a tranquilizer dart. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day, but first we found out yesterday that someone who works in the sales department at Audacy here in NY died in the New Orleans terror attack. C-Lo has audio of Jeff Ulbrich saying nice things about Aaron Rodgers. Shannon Sharpe has had enough with Zeke Elliott continuing to try and play. Stephen A. Smith was way off on his Sam Darnold stats. Joe Buck was on the Andrew Marchand podcast, which we found out you have to pay for which can't possibly be working. The Moment of The Day: Ralph from East Rockaway has some facts about wolves vs dogs. In the final segment of the show, our Week 18 NFL Picks.
In this episode, CP "The Fanchise" recaps the New York Knicks' hard-fought 108-85 victory over the Orlando Magic. It wasn't pretty, but it was gritty, as Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart—aka “The Roommates”—stepped up big to secure the win.
Gio was listening to C-Mac on the overnight talking about Bill Belichick and the UNC coaching job. Gio thinks Belichick is trying to get teams like the Giants to make a move before the season ends. By almost taking this job, it is going to make teams like the Giants make a move before the season ends. Boomer said the Giants would have to go through the Rooney Rule before they hire Belichick. Bill sent UNC a 400 page document on everything he wants to do there if he coaches at UNC. The Pacman Jones podcast had notorious Miami booster Nevin Shapiro on, and he said the Giants are drafting QB Cam Ward and hiring the OC to be head coach. Jerry returns for an update and starts with another ‘Chazz Jizzm' during MLB trade talk. Then the talk turned to the UFO/drones over NJ and Al is very annoyed that nobody seems to care and the FBI has no idea what it is. In the final segment of the hour, a listener sent Boomer a Precious Achiuwa jersey and Gio a JJ McCarthy jersey.
Hour 1 The Yankees signed pitcher Max Fried and Boomer thanked Brian Cashman for getting him out of the NL East. Gio is worried how he will perform coming from a smaller market in Atlanta. We also talked about the Mets pitching lab and the one in Tampa for the Yankees, nicknamed the ‘gas station'. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the Yankees signing Fried. Audio emerged of Mark Gastineau confronting Brett Favre for handing Michael Strahan the sack title. Boomer is no fan of Gastineau and said ‘screw him, I don't care'. He called him a ‘dirty cheap shotting son of a bitch'. Joe Burrow's house was broken into while he was playing Monday night in Dallas. In the final segment of the hour, Brandon Tierney has a lot of lingo for baseball stats. Hour 2 Gio was listening to C-Mac on the overnight talking about Bill Belichick and the UNC coaching job. Hour 3 Phil Simms joins us in his Wednesday spot and we started with the rift in the Eagles lockerroom between Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown. We also talked about Bill Belichick potentially going to UNC because NFL owners don't seem interested in him. Boomer asked Phil if he thought Bill would bring LT in to work with him. Phil does not. We also talked a lot about Sam Darnold's resurgence in Minnesota. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Nick Sirianni on WIP saying the Jalen Hurts/AJ Brown situation is being blown out of proportion. Aaron Rodgers thinks this could actually bring the Eagles team together. Kyle Shanahan talked about Deebo Samuel complaining about not getting the ball. In the final segment of the hour, Randy Moss is dealing with a health issue but he didn't say what it was, he was just explaining why he would be off TV. Larry Fitzgeral Sr, father of the NFL wide receiver, put out on X that Randy Moss has liver cancer. Hour 4 The Yankees and Mets are both interested in pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga. Suzyn Waldman was on with BT & Sal and said Steve Cohen is this generation's George Steinbrenner. Boomer said Juan Soto better win an MVP and World Series. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first he tells us he heard Elton John is broke. Gio thinks it must have been one of those links at the bottom of stories on the NY Post website. Aaron Rodgers was on with Pat McAfee and asked if they heard about the drones in NJ. Frank The Tank was furious with the Devils and Bruce Springsteen. The Moment of The Day: Joe Burrow's home burglarized and a hot model reports the crime. In the final segment of the hour, we wondered if the person who called the police from McDonald's will get the reward they deserve. We also talked about the losers making the shooter out to be some sort of hero.

The Mets probably won't go on a run because their pitching isn't good enough. Boomer remembers an old cliche about pitching that possibly started with Connie Mack. Boomer thinks Gio and others at the radio station are too negative. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first Boomer quizzes Gio and Jerry on some sports business figures. The Knicks and Rangers playoff runs made MSG a billion dollars. NFL teams make so much money and Boomer wants that to go to the players. Juan Soto crushed three home runs last night and the Yankees beat the White Sox. What teams will make $500 million offers to Soto? Malik Nabers has no doubt he will be ready for week 1. Hour 2 Al's question to Aaron Rodgers about the Malaysian Air conspiracy has gone viral in the conspiracy community. This could be Al's crowning achievement. Jerry returns for an update but first we get a conspiracy update from Tom Izzo. Jerry begins with BT and Sal delivering another double entendre. Juan Soto hit three home runs but the White Sox walked him so he couldn't get number four. Jazz Chisholm Jr. has a UCL injury and Boomer reminds us diving into any base is dangerous. Paul Blackburn struggled in his Citi Field debut. Gio says he would fight that voice but everyone else is not sure. Austin Adams mocked the Mets “OMG” celebration after escaping a jam. Jeff Francoeur told a great story about getting out of a spring training game to golf with Tiger Woods. What kind of dog would Daniel Jones be? Dan Marino made a bad financial decision when being compensated for Ace Ventura. Sam Rosen is retiring after this season. In the final segment of the hour, we continue to compare Daniel Jones to a dog and discuss how the Giants need more toughness. Boomer wants to see what Daniel Jones can do with more opportunity. Hour 3 The Mets wake up from their nap. The Yankees have all the pieces needed to win but have to hope Jazz Chisholm's injury isn't serious. An overnight caller known for pushing buttons tries to get under Boomer's skin. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Juan Soto's big night in the Windy City. The Mets had another embarrassing loss, this one at home against the A's. Austin Adams had fun at their expense. Gio can't wait to see Malik Nabers in game action. How common is it for legends to be around their former teams? Sam Rosen will retire after his 40th season in the booth. We look at numbers 31-100 on the Top 100 Giants list. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer and Gio agree that Robert Saleh sounded different yesterday and that's a good thing. Gio believes the adversity the Jets faced last year will help prepare them for this season. Hour 4 The whole show will be together for four days next week and Boomer is realizing how many days of his life he is getting back now that he won't be on The NFL Today. A caller is upset the Mets didn't sell at the trade deadline since they are now coming back to earth but Boomer and Gio agree that was not really an option. SNY's Kidcaster calls in with his dad. They want to know what he should wear when he calls an inning next week. Jerry is here for his final update of the day and begins with the positive, meaning the Yankees and Juan Soto. How does a cement truck overturn? That will lead to brutal traffic for Boomer and Gio on their drives home. Gio got stuck in the “Peter Schwartz-field” at Jets camp yesterday. The Moment of The Day involves a suggestion Brandon Tierney has for Robert Saleh and Aaron Rodgers. In the final segment of the show, there's never too much golf.

Both Brian Cashman and David Stearns made small improvements on deadline day without giving much up and Gio completely supports what the GMs did. Gio expects the Yankees to win the AL East and the Mets to be the NL's top Wild Card. Gerrit Cole was scratched with “general body fatigue” but was it really a stomach virus? Jazz Chisholm Jr. continued his hot start with two more homers for the Yankees last night. Could Mark Leiter Jr. take over the closer's role from Clay Holmes, who blew another one last night? Jerry is here for his first update and begins with the Yankees win. Boomer thinks Rickie Ricardo's call of Jazz Chisholm's home run was a little much but loves the energy. Boomer says Jazz Chisholm looks like the greatest ever trade deadline addition for the Yankees. Saying “Jazz Chisholm” tripped up Justin Shackil and Chris McMonigle broke down the dilemma for broadcasters. The Mets shutout the Twins. Robert Saleh said he doesn't plan to play Aaron Rodgers in the preseason but left the door open for the final game. Sal Licata had some dots connected for him. Boomer got his guy as Precious Achiuwa is back with the Knicks. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer and Gio discuss the report that the Yankees backed out of a deal for Jack Flaherty due to injury concerns. Gio does not blame Cashman for walking away from that deal.
