Connecting with people and documenting the world The Plumley Podcast is a long form audio show where I connect with entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers and artists Inspire Creative Thinking Hosted by John (Jack) Plumley
So I noticed #JoeRogan was trending Twitter. It was a positive feedback loop - a "Twitter Mob" - of people speaking against Joe Rogan giving out health advice, as well as recent conversations regarding the pandemic and lockdowns. This lead people to encourage boycotting Spotify - and it even lead to a decrease in Spotify's stock price. This reminded me of the time Elon Musk was on JRE and "smoked" marijuana - which consequently lead to bad press and Tesla's stock price falling. In this episode of the Plumley Podcast, I share my thoughts on why we need more freedom of speech, more diverse opinions and why we need to be more accepting of nuance in life. ⚡Peace & Love Everyone! ❤ My YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5_ENK1C1809WD9HHLykh-g
When you think about retirement you have to consider your framework of the future you're envisioning. Does our current outlook of typical "retirement" take into consideration the following: Human lifespan increase, new currencies (crypto), future innovations, technology, etc... Without a clear picture of what the world will be like 50 to 100 years from now, how can you know if your retirement plan will even work? I think most people underestimate the changes that will take place within the next century. Bottom line is: don't take retirement planning advice from banks, institutions, or family members who have an outdated perspective of the future. What are YOUR thoughts on retirement?

The internet empowers the average person - the little guys - to the point where they can take on the huge conglomerates - the big guys As much as I dislike "Us vs. Them" situations, I think that this sort of VS. battle is actually a step in the right direction as the big guys have created this separation to begin with! Those in power often work to keep people below them and to stay in power.. Now, I might add, hierarchies are one thing (necessary and unavoidable) but the powerful purposely keeping others beneath them is another thing entirely.. In the game of money this seems to have gone on forever. So, let this revolution happen, even the playing field and from there let the natural hierarchies of competence emerge, let fairness triumph and the world just become a more efficient place where we help one another and don't actively hold others back from success. Everybody can Win This is the GameStop scenario And the narrative pf pitting the Internet (Reddit) against Wall Street - a battle of the retail traders against the hedge funds and the people who run Wall Street. Now that it is all said and done (seemingly) who are the real winners and who are the big time losers? 2020 was a strange year … The Pandemic Lockdown should have been an opportunity to do ample amounts of reading. In practice however, I found it hard to read with focus and clarity... Instead, I just used the internet more… Participating in daily Zoom chats, creating YouTube VLOG's and, of course, consuming videos and podcasts. My time was spent almost exclusively on-line... Not a totally bad thing though. I am grateful for the connections I made online, proud of the videos I've created, and certainly learnt a lot from all the podcasts I've listened to. But I still cannot help but think of all the books I could have read… Nonetheless, I did manage to read some powerful and immensely insightful books in 2020 despite everything else. So, in this podcast I review my top 5 most impactful books of 2020 (with a bonus book recap at the end). Enjoy!

Jake Portolese on COLD EXPOSURE, the WIM HOF METHOD, Breathing, Presence & Exercise Jake is a highly motivated individual with an aim to learn and teach a well-rounded approach to achieving optimal overall health. I first connected with Jake through YouTube, via the comment section of Gary Vee videos. Jake engaged in the 40 day Wim Hof challenge and documented each day of it on YouTube. Doing so, he gained valuable insights into the benefits and effects of being exposed to Cold on the daily basis. In this podcast Jake shares those insights on cold exposure, breath work, exercise and mindset. So, why expose ourselves to the discomfort of cold water? As human's we adapt in so many ways. We can train ourselves to be adaptable to temperatures, yet we often fear the cold and do whatever we can to avoid it and stay at a 'comfortable' temperature. We've made it this far in human evolution by having to endure varying temperatures and climates. And it appears that our bodies rewards us for occasional exposure to freezing cold temperatures (as well as extreme heat) as a form of Hormesis, the good type of stress. It's the “what doesn't kill you makes you stronger” in full effect. Cold Water Exposure also seems to go hand in hand with exercise and healthy eating as well. It's a gateway into Breath Work and Mindfulness Meditation. Jake's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL2v... & Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jport_fitness/
