American Resources Corp CEO Mark Jensen joined Steve Darling to unveil a major step in reshoring critical materials: the launch of a fully integrated urban mining-to-magnet rare earth supply chain through the company's subsidiary, ReElement Technologies. ReElement will offer toll processing services to recycle and refine rare earth magnets into high-purity oxides—including Neodymium (Nd), Neodymium-Praseodymium (NdPr), Dysprosium (Dy), and Terbium (Tb)—at purities exceeding 99.5%, and at an average cost of just $25 to $35 per kilogram. In addition to rare earths, ReElement is actively recycling strategic and esoteric critical minerals such as Gallium, Germanium, Cobalt, Samarium, Yttrium, and Gadolinium, many of which face Chinese export restrictions. The company achieves purities up to 99.999% and often returns materials at or below Chinese market pricing—making it a strategic alternative for commercial and defense applications. Notably, ReElement is feedstock-agnostic and has already processed magnets from a wide variety of sources, including, wind turbines, automotive and power tool rotors, hard disk drives and Magnetic separators and waste. Looking ahead, Jensen revealed that ReElement is set to expand tolling partnerships to include SEG, SEG+, MREC, MREO, and other ore-based feedstocks, alongside its current antimony refining operations. This development represents a critical leap toward rare earth independence for the U.S., offering a scalable, sustainable, and secure domestic supply chain for strategic materials that power everything from clean energy to national defense. #proactiveinvestors #americanresourcescorporation #nasdaq #arec #SustainableMining, #MineralRefining, #RecyclingInnovation, #CriticalMinerals, #RareEarthRecycling, #EVRecycling, #BatteryRecycling, #GreenTechnology, #EcoFriendlySolutions, #RenewableEnergy, #ElectricVehicles, #CleanEnergy, #ResourceRecovery, #CircularEconomy, ReElementTechnologies #RareEarthElements #CriticalMinerals #SupplyChain #USManufacturing #MagnetSupplyChain #Gallium #Terbium #CleanTech #DefenseIndustry #LithiumExtraction #MiningInnovation
President Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill marks the end of the federal EV tax credits at a time when sales of used EVs and hybrids are ramping up and new EV sales are slowing. The bill, signed July 4, could spur additional incentives at the state level and from manufacturers as the federal credits end nearly seven years early. The bill moves the expiration date up to Sept. 30 versus the initial end date of Dec. 31, 2032. At the same time, lower prices and more models coming off-lease contributed to an uptick in used-EV sales in May, while new EV sales declined year over year. Hybrid sales have also been on the rise, with gas-hybrid sales making up a record 12.6% of total vehicle sales in April. In powersports, several Harley-Davidson dealerships have closed their doors amid a dip in motorcycle sales and in tandem with leadership changes at the company. Weaker motorcycle sales mirror trends in the wider powersports market headed into the summer months, with powerboat retail sales down 9% YoY through April and North American RV registrations down 5.6% YoY in May. On the tech front, Santander Consumer USA has launched a new pre-qualification dealer lead generation tool, and CarMax is gearing up to launch updated versions of its chatbot tools for associates and customers. In this episode of the “Weekly Wrap,” Auto Finance News Editor Amanda Harris, Senior Associate Editor Truth Headlam and Associate Editor Aidan Bush discuss the latest updates on electric vehicles, incentives, powersports and technology for the week ended July 11.

What we need is an "are we sure we know what we are doing before we rush into this" catalogue or guide. The EV story might turn out to be one of the world's, and certainly the transportation industry's, biggest headaches as company after company admit they leapt in way too quick to electric, bought into all the Government-led madness on climate and invested, God-knows how much to transfer to a mode of movement the world wasn't ready for, or wanted. EVs were sold as way more than they ever were. Now even the scientists are waking up. There's a good piece of reading from Dr Caroline Shaw published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, whereby they do what we really should have done at the start and look at the EV in totality. It said don't get all hyped and hooked up on emissions. Yes, emissions in an EV vs petrol debate do drop. But what about the rest of it? They looked at all sorts of things like the extra weight, therefore the extra wear and tear, the weight and therefore the potential for injury, the cheapness of driving, therefore you drive more, therefore our fitness drops as we drive and don't walk. They looked at a myriad of things that should have been thought about and scoped out on day one and weighed up. Because here is the end result: when you add all that stuff up, the good, the bad and the ugly, electrifying cars would lie somewhere between harmful and neutral. Are you serious? Going electric could be harmful? Would it have not been useful to crunch a few of those ideas to understand this at the start of the obsession that drove the thinking? Or, like so much ideology, do the details not matter as long as we can leap on the old bandwagon, take a small piece of the bigger picture and then milk it for all its worth, knowing that we can leave the reality and the clean-up for another day? This by the way is not anti-EV. It's the realisation that like most things, what was the answer, and the obsession, and the next new thing, actually turns out to be just another piece in a way bigger, more complex, picture than the obsessives ever care to learn about. Are electric vehicles at a crossroads? This question drives our enlightening conversation with renowned automotive expert Jack Nerad, who joins us from California to share his perspectives on the current state of EVs and the automotive industry at large.Range anxiety emerges as a genuine dealbreaker rather than a minor inconvenience. When Mike shares his frustrating experience with a Volvo EV that can't complete his 112-mile commute without an hour-long charging stop, the practical limitations of current electric technology become painfully clear. Jack points out that without tax incentives on the horizon, manufacturers face an uphill battle convincing mainstream consumers to embrace fully electric vehicles. The consensus? Plug-in hybrids might offer the most practical solution for today's drivers who want efficiency without sacrificing convenience. The conversation shifts to the endangered species that auto shows have become. Despite evidence that these exhibitions connect with enthusiastic consumers and aspirational buyers, luxury manufacturers increasingly withdraw their participation. Jack characterizes this retreat as shortsighted—"cutting off their nose despite their face"—noting that manufacturers miss valuable opportunities to build brand loyalty with future customers. While traditional formats struggle, innovative approaches like the Electrify Expo show promising alternatives with their interactive, festival-like atmospheres. We round out the episode with an engaging review of the 2025 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, a vehicle that embodies Italian design philosophy with its distinctive triangular grille and uniquely sporty character. Though its infotainment system proves frustratingly complex (requiring users to "become a little bit Italian" to understand it), the 280-horsepower turbocharged engine and sports car-like handling make this SUV stand out in a crowded market. The Verde Fangio green paint attracted numerous compliments despite its $2,200 premium.Curious about where the automotive world is heading? In this episode, I reflect on a whirlwind three-day visit to China - my first in over 20 years. And what I saw was remarkable. The infrastructure puts most of the West to shame. The AI isn't just hype - it's working at serious scale. And the electric vehicles? They're about to steamroll the global auto industry. Here's what really struck me during my whirlwind trip to Beijing and beyond. In this episode you'll hear:Infrastructure built at speed: Beijing's immaculate airport, 300 km/h rail to Tianjin for £17, and pristine expressways that put US infrastructure to shame.Verticalised AI in action: While Chinese labs trail US frontier models and face compute constraints, they're excelling in verticals - profitable robotaxis in Wuhan, healthcare AI analyzing 5.5 billion medical records, and Squirrel AI's $200m education platform that outperforms China's best human teachers.EV cost leadership is set: Chinese electric vehicles are absolutely remarkable. Years of vicious domestic competition have created incredible innovation and cost discipline that will hit European carmakers like a sledgehammer. The air quality transformation: Beijing at 37°C was clean enough for a morning run, thanks to widespread EV adoption.Scale that defies comprehension: Convention centers 100 times the size of Union Square, cities of 20 million people, and AI platforms serving tens of millions of users. Our new showThis was originally recorded for “Friday with Azeem Azhar”, a new show that takes place every Friday at 9am PT and 12pm ET. There's a special kind of dread that comes from driving a car that is about to run out of gas or power. That may be why electric vehicle advocates say highways need to have more EV charging stations for people who make the switch to electric. Those advocates had a recent win. A federal judge ordered the Trump Administration to unfreeze funding for EV infrastructure. But Minnesota's funding is still in limbo.Minnesota was one of 16 states plus the District of Columbia that sued over the funding freeze. But the court order only applied to 14 states, not including Minnesota. Great Plains Institute Senior EV Policy Specialist Moaz Uddin Mian joins MPR News host Nina Moini to explain.

Ronald Stein is a professional engineer, energy literacy advocate, and the Pulitzer Prize-nominated co-author of Clean Energy Exploitations. With decades of experience designing and building refineries for major corporations like Bechtel and Fluor, Ron possesses a deep, nuanced understanding of the energy sector. Thirty years ago, he and his wife, June, founded PTS Advance, a staffing and workforce solutions firm specializing in complex industries like energy and life sciences. After successfully growing the company, they transitioned ownership to their two sons 15 years ago. Now, Ron dedicates his time to educating policymakers, business leaders, and the public, serving as a columnist for America Out Loud News and an advisor to the Heartland Institute on energy policy.SHOW SUMMARYIn this eye-opening episode of the Disruptive Successor Podcast, host Jonathan Goldhill sits down with Ronald Stein to challenge everything you think you know about energy. Ron explains the dangerous lack of "energy literacy" plaguing our leaders and policies. He draws a critical distinction: renewables like wind and solar only generate electricity, whereas fossil fuels are the foundation for the petrochemicals that create over 6,000 essential products, from iPhones and medical devices to the very components of EVs and solar panels. The conversation delves into the successful generational transition of Ron's family business, PTS Advance, and unpacks the severe economic and national security risks of misguided energy policies, revealing the hidden truths behind the global push for a "green" transition.KEY TAKEAWAYS Energy vs. Electricity: A Critical Misunderstanding: Ron clarifies that "energy" and "electricity" are not interchangeable. Wind and solar generate electricity, but they cannot create the physical products derived from the petrochemicals in fossil fuels that our modern world is built on.Everything is Made from Oil: Our materialistic society, including "green" technologies like EVs, wind turbines, and solar panels, is fundamentally dependent on the 6,000+ products derived from oil. Getting rid of oil means getting rid of the building blocks of modern life.A Family Business Success Story: Ron shares how he and his wife built PTS Advance from the ground up, successfully transitioned it to their sons, and strategically hired a non-family CEO, leading to massive growth and an eventual acquisition. The Perils of Poor Policy: California's push to eliminate in-state oil production has ironically made the state over 70% dependent on foreign oil imports, creating a significant national security risk and driving up costs for consumers. The Hidden Costs of EVs: Transitioning to electric vehicles eliminates the gas tax revenue that maintains roads, while the heavier weight of EVs causes more road damage, creating a future funding crisis. The Unethical Side of "Clean" Energy: Ron argues that mandating EVs financially incentivizes the exploitation of labor (including child labor) and environmental degradation in countries like China and in Africa, where the raw materials for batteries are mined. The Nuclear Resurgence: As a reliable, emissions-free, and continuous power source, nuclear energy is gaining worldwide momentum as a practical solution for our electricity needs, requiring far less land and materials than wind and solar.QUOTES "Wind and solar only generates electricity. They make no powers, no insulation, no asphalt, et cetera, et cetera. Whereas oil, all the products we have today didn't exist 200 years ago.""If you get rid of oil, you get rid of electricity, you get rid of EVs. The EV is a hundred percent made with oil.""Instead of being 5% dependent on foreign imports for crude oil, we're now more than 70% dependent... And that is a national security risk for America.""My passion is to stimulate conversations about energy literacy because most of our policy makers are misunderstanding the word energy.""I think it's unethical and immoral to provide those financial incentives for those countries to continue to [exploit people and the environment].""There's a worldwide movement toward nuclear 'cause we want affordable, reliable, continuous electricity, also emissions free electricity and nuclear is providing that."Connect and learn more about Ronald Stein and his work:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ronaldstein/Email: ronald.stein@energyliteracy.netBook: Clean Energy Exploitations on AmazonCompany: PTS Advance: https://www.linkedin.com/company/pts-advance/If you enjoyed today's episode, please subscribe, review, and share with a friend who would benefit from the message.
