    In this episode of the Your Harrogate Podcast, Pete Egerton discusses the Nidderdale Walk (18th May), a brand new app set to help Knaresborough, plus, a gold award for Harrogate Town!The 31st Nidderdale Walk takes place this Sunday, raising funds for local charities, and organised by the Rotary Club of Harrogate, in association with Verity Frearson. The routes available include a 4, 8, 15, 18, 22 and 26 mile course. Pete learns more from Brian Stuttard, the project leader for the Nidderdale Walk group.Meanwhile, Pete has also been speaking to the chief executive of the Chain Lane Community Hub in Knaresborough. If you're not aware, they are a local charity who serve the community of Knaresborough and surrounding areas, so people are welcomed, supported and empowered to fully develop their potential and that of their community. Within the last week, a new app has been launched; "Knaresborough Together" which is aimed at groups, charities, or community organisations needing support to help do good in the to town.The final part of the podcast features presenter Nick Hancock, speaking to Harrogate Town chief executive Sarah Barry, and fan engagement officer Hamilton Mattock, about a Family Excellence Gold Award for the 2024/25 season for delivering unforgettable matchday experience for families....

Harrogate Town's newest forward Eno Nto has joined Town on a month-to-month contract, and hours after signing, scored the opener in the team's 2-2 draw at the Exercise stadium on Tuesday night against Blackpool. Born in Derby, Enomfon Uzoma Azuma Nto came through the ranks at The Rams' Academy and featured for the club at U18 level in their 2018/19 title winning season, as well as in the UEFA Youth League. Nto then decided to continue his career in The USA with Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but would rejoin his boyhood club midway through the 2023/24 campaign. Following a successful trial, Eno has joined Simon Weaver's squad. Elsewhere, a unique new football team that focusses solely on players' skills and confidence is launching in Harrogate. The Harrogate International Academy is aimed at 12-13 year olds, offering an alternative to the traditional competitive league format.  Sessions are held every Wednesday evening at Rossett Sports Centre, led by experienced FA-qualified coach Andrew Clark.     In this episode of the Your Harrogate Podcast, presenter Pete Egerton catches up with Harrogate Town's manager Simon Weaver, plus, we hear a heartbreaking story about the football coach who has been left partially paralysed following surgery. On Sunday 3rd November, Harrogate Town caused one of the upsets of the first round of the FA Cup, by beating Hollywood-owned Wrexham. Simon says everyone is still riding high following the victory, but now it's time to focus once more on the league and a clash with Morecambe this weekend (9th November). The club are running a promotion in which under 18s get in for free and they will also be marking the remembrance weekend too. Pete also speaks to Jules Hodson who is a coach at Harrogate Railway Ladies. Jules underwent spinal surgery in June for an existing condition - but complications saw her sustain further damage to her spinal cord. The 47-year-old was hospitalised for almost four months as a result. She was recently discharged but has been left unable to walk unassisted and requires daily visits from carers and district nurses. A fundraising campaign has been launched by Jules' friend Anna Sealby, with the aim of funding private physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

Simon was pleased with how his side acquitted themselves in the first 45 against Accrington last Saturday (17th August) and believes that the first goal, demonstrates how Town need "a few more scruffy goals" - he thinks at times, they can be too polite! The Exercise Stadium has this week, been named the second safest ground in the football league and Simon thinks that such an accolade, can only help attract more families into coming along and supporting Town. This weekend (24th August), Harrogate play at Colchester and then on Tuesday (27th) they face championship Preston North End in the league cup. The latter is a match that Simon is particularly looking forward to, as the Lancashire outfit are managed by former Town player Paul Heckingbottom.
