We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions. A piano appears in the park. Nobody knows who put it there. And somehow this turns into one of the best Hallmark movies of 2026.This week we're reviewing A Little Park Music starring Lacey J. Malley and Beau Mirchoff. When a mysterious piano shows up in the town gazebo and interferes with city business, uptight City Manager Ali is forced to team up with by-the-book rookie cop Ryan to get rid of it — only to discover that music, and love, are a lot harder to remove than either of them planned. We break down why the leads absolutely crushed their roles, the surprisingly layered writing that actually explains WHY these characters are the way they are (a rare Hallmark treat), the stakeout scene in the back of the pickup truck that had us completely charmed, and the little piano mystery woven through the whole movie that we didn't see coming. We also have a full yoga corner moment — Andrea has thoughts on that instructor. IRC breaks down why Beau Mirchoff keeps showing up in Hallmark movies and consistently delivering.Plus — IRC is fully hooked on Frankie Drake Mysteries (despite having strong feelings about the hair change in Season 2), Andrea is loving All Creatures Great and Small, and we have a whole conversation about Murdoch Mysteries being edited on Hallmark Plus in ways that are… noticeable.⭐⭐⭐⭐½ Andrea: 4.5 Stars   |   ⭐ IRC: Loved itChaptersCalculated from transcript at 184.5 wpm against actual runtime of 20:35.0:00 — Welcome to Hallmark Mysteries and More1:03 — What We've Been Watching: All Creatures Great & Small2:46 — Frankie Drake Mysteries & Murdoch Edited on Hallmark Plus5:45 — A Little Park Music — Plot Overview6:05 — Andrea's Review: 4.5 Stars8:31 — IRC's Review: Endearing Leads & Small-Town Setting12:25 — What We Didn't Like (Spoiler: Nothing)12:35 — Standout Scenes: The Yoga Class & Beau Mirchoff's Understated Charm16:22 — Romance: Believable Chemistry & the Stakeout Scene18:52 — Similar Movie Recommendations20:13 — Next Week: To Philly with Love & OutroMovies & Shows MentionedHaunted Harmony — little mystery + music, recommended if you want more of bothSummer of Dreams (2016) — Pascale Hutton, Robert Gant & Debbie Gibson; former pop star + small-town music teacherThe Way to You — IRC's pick; unique and charming earlier 2026 HallmarkHidden Gems — Beau Mirchoff's first Hallmark appearance discussedFinish Line — Beau Mirchoff's second Hallmark appearance discussedAll Creatures Great and Small (PBS) — Andrea's current evening pleasure watchFrankie Drake Mysteries (Hallmark Plus) — IRC's current obsessionTags#ALittleParkMusic #HallmarkReview #HallmarkMovies #HallmarkChannel #LaceyJMalley #BeauMirchoff #HallmarkMysteriesAndMore #HallmarkPodcast #CozyTV #SpringMovies #HallmarkRomance #FrankieDrakeMysteriesFollow us on social media: Instagram and TikTok: @hallmarkmysteriesandmoreYoutubeOr visit our website. This podcast was created by fans for fans and is NOT affiliated with or sponsored by Hallmark or the Hallmark Channel.

Anglotopia Podcast: Episode 90 – The Real Yorkshire – A Blue Badge Guide’s Insider Guide to England’s Biggest County

In this episode of the Anglotopia Podcast, Jonathan Thomas sits down with Tim Barber, Yorkshire Blue Badge guide and founder of Real Yorkshire Tours, for an in-depth traveler's guide to one of England's most captivating and varied regions. Tim brings over a decade of guiding experience and a background in geography, geology, and marketing to the conversation, explaining why Yorkshire — at 6,000 square miles — deserves far more than a single day stopover between London and Edinburgh. The pair cover everything from the dramatic differences between the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, to the best way to experience York Minster, to why the Yorkshire Wolds is the region's best-kept secret. Tim also unpacks his hugely popular All Creatures Great and Small filming locations tour, explains what the Blue Badge qualification actually means for travelers, shares his personal recommendations for how many days to spend and where to stay, and offers practical advice for Americans planning their first Yorkshire adventure — including the one language misunderstanding that left him without his lunch. Links Real Yorkshire Tours — realyorkshiretours.co.uk Institute of Tourist Guiding (Blue Badge info) — itg.org.uk York Minster — yorkminster.org Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal — nationaltrust.org.uk World of James Herriot, Thirsk — worldofjamesherriot.org The Brontë Parsonage Museum, Haworth — bronte.org.uk Castle Howard — castlehoward.co.uk Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (steam train to Haworth) — kwvr.co.uk North Yorkshire Moors Railway (Pickering to Whitby) — nymr.co.uk Grantley Hall Hotel, near Ripon — grantleyhall.co.uk Friends of Anglotopia Takeaways The Blue Badge is the gold standard qualification for British tour guides — an 18-month course equivalent to a foundation degree, requiring practical exams, written tests, and specialist site accreditations. Always look for it when booking a guide. Yorkshire is England's largest region at 6,000 square miles, with more landscape variety than almost anywhere else in the country — from wild Pennine moorland and rolling Dales to a hundred miles of coastline and the little-known chalk uplands of the Yorkshire Wolds. If you only have one day in the countryside, Tim recommends the Yorkshire Dales over the North York Moors — not because the Moors aren't spectacular, but because the Dales offer slightly more varied scenery and you'll still get a taste of moorland driving over the tops. York Minster is the largest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe and contains 65% of all medieval stained glass in England — saved during the Civil War by a Yorkshireman who threatened his troops with death if they touched it. The All Creatures Great and Small new series has overtaken Downton Abbey in US viewing figures on PBS Masterpiece — and Tim's filming locations tour takes in Grassington (Darrowby), Helen's Farm, the church where James and Helen married, and more. The Yorkshire Wolds — a chalk upland area east of York — is Tim's top hidden gem recommendation: barely known even to locals, with picture-postcard villages, chalk streams, and stunning dry valleys almost entirely free of tourists. Americans typically underestimate how much time they need in Yorkshire. Tim's ideal recommendation is five days, covering York, the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors and coast, Fountains Abbey, and a stately home. York makes the best base for a Yorkshire visit, with easy rail and road access to almost every corner of the region — though Harrogate is a great alternative for those focused on the Dales and All Creatures tours. Haworth and the Brontë Parsonage offer a very different experience from the open Dales — a darkened millstone grit industrial village where Tim drives clients up onto the moorland tops so they can feel the wind and understand where Wuthering Heights came from. Jonathan is personally planning a two-to-three day Yorkshire visit after completing his Hadrian's Wall walk this summer, and Tim recommends Helmsley, Rievaulx Abbey, and Whitby as excellent options accessible by public transport from York. Soundbites "I won a big pitch and I just couldn't get excited by it. I came home on Friday and said, I think I'm done. She said, well, you're 48, you can't retire yet — we'd better find you a job then." — Tim on the moment he decided to leave marketing. "I take people to absolutely beautiful places, we have a traditional lunch in a country pub, they drop off at the end of the day, I get lots of thanks and a tip, I drive home and pinch myself and think — have I really been at work?" — Tim on loving his second career. "She just sort of said, I just can't believe it. It's more beautiful than I ever thought it would be. To see a reaction like that, where the landscape had created that kind of emotion — that's a pretty special thing." — Tim on a lifelong James Herriot fan finally seeing the Dales. "The history of York is the history of England. You can actually do it all on foot. You don't have to jump on trains or tubes. A lot of the stuff is within the city walls." — Tim on what makes York so extraordinary. "65 % of all the medieval stained glass in England is in York Minster. Because during the Reformation, a Yorkshireman told his parliamentary troops: you do not touch York Minster, under pain of death." — Tim on how Yorkshire saved its own history. "You'd be driving down little tiny country lanes in the Dales that are just difficult to pass on. You just couldn't get a 55-seat coach down them." — Tim on why the All Creatures filming locations can only be done in a small vehicle. "I knew there was a Yorkshire Terrier and I'd heard of a Yorkshire Pudding — but I can't believe what you've got to offer here." — a typical American tour operator reaction on first seeing the region, as recounted by Tim. "Yorkshire men have more call centres here than anywhere else in England because people want to talk to somebody with a trustworthy voice who tells them how it is and is honest and straightforward." — Tim on the Yorkshire character. "She said she'd just have chips — so I booked a restaurant that did pub grub. And about quarter to twelve she said, could we pull up at this garage? She came out with a bag of crisps. And I suddenly realised I wasn't going to get any lunch." — Tim on the chips vs crisps language trap. "People spend five or six days in London, five or six days in Edinburgh — and they always say, I wish I'd spent longer up here. Yorkshire feels a little bit more real and authentic." — Tim on why Americans should slow down and give Yorkshire more time.  Key points from this episode: • Factionalism in the Church: Acknowledging the presence of division within the church and its potential benefits as an “immune system,” while also expressing a desire to avoid unnecessary factionalism. • Historical Perspective on Holiness Movements: Discussing George Marsden's book Fundamentalism and American Culture, which, among other things, explores holiness movements from the 1880s to the 1920s, highlighting the role of women in hymnology and the feminization of spirituality. • Navigating Conflict in Ministry: Addressing the complexities of conflict in ministry, emphasizing the need to distinguish between pugnaciousness and necessary battles, and urging wise and purposeful engagement in conflicts. • Ministry's True Nature: Ministry is not about being helpful but about honoring God and protecting the flock, even if it means facing the disapproval of your elder board. • Conflict Resolution: Judging the value and fruit of conflict is difficult and often impossible until long after the conflict has resolved. • Leadership in Ministry: True leadership in ministry is not about seeking approval or building a following but about doing what pleases God and what is best for the sheep. This approach will bring conflict inexorably. Other mentions:Boswell's Life of JohnsonJames Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small***Out of Our Minds Podcast: Pastors Who Say What They Think. Back in N-Space, we find ourselves in the very odd (but apparently extremely harmonious) society of Traken, ruled over by an apparently all-powerful Keeper in The Keeper of Traken! All is not as it seems, as an old, kinda crispy enemy lurks in the background, ready to steal all of our bodies in his quest to keep living…   Join us as we discuss the clear influences of Shakespeare, how the Trakenites were able to procure weapons so quickly, the rampant use of ring tropes, how Adric calls the Doctor out on his nonsense, the issues with Trakenite architecture not being load-bearing, and the interesting story parallels between The Keeper of Traken and J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.   If you would like to watch along with us, you can find this story available for streaming on Britbox in the USA (http://www.britbox.com) and BBC iPlayer in the UK (https://bbc.in/48GSaCB). The Connecting Power of Books – a conversation with Sarah Mackenzie

The Greta Eskridge Podcast

In this episode of the Greta Eskridge podcast, I get to talk to the queen of books herself, Sarah Mackenzie. Sarah is a wife and a homeschooling mom to six kids. Three are in college and 3 are still at home. In her spare time (ha!) she is also the creator of the fabulous Read Aloud Revival podcast, the author of two beloved books, Teaching From Rest and The Read Aloud Family, the founder of the boutique publishing house Waxwing Books and author of three children's books. This is why I say she had a reading empire! Sarah is an amazing lady and just so much fun to talk to. True to form, I get teary eyed in this episode. But talking books and connection will do that to me. Also, in this episode you can hear Sarah and I not able to do math. We talk about books, not math problems, so what do you expect? This episode is chock full of so many great book titles with you. We like to say we sling around book titles like ninjas. Get ready! Here's some more of what we talked about: Sarah tells us she loves roller coasters. She recently rode one 6 times in a row and read her kindle while in line. This quote by Andrew Pudewa launched Sarah deep into the world of reading aloud with her kids: the best way to help kids become better communicators is to read aloud a ton and memorize poetry. Sarah noticed that reading aloud didn't just make a positive impact on her kids academically, but there was a relational impact happening too. She noticed as her kids were growing up and sometimes she and they were at odds with each other, reading aloud put her and her kids on the same side of the fence. Sarah says: reading aloud is a powerful way to connect with our kids in a really noisy world. Its simple, free, quick: that's a lot of dividends from a small investment. We learn that audio books count every bit as much as reading a book with pages. And we learn that data says whether they read early or late, by 8th grade most kids are at about the same reading level if kids are being exposed to good books all along. No need to fear if you have a late reader! I've had 3 myself.  And here is the list of all the books we discussed together. Each one is linked so you can see the cover and even put it in your cart if you want to! For the younger kids: Buffalo Fluffalo Jonas Hanway's Scurrilous, Scandalous, Shockingly, Sensational Umbrella Sheep in a Jeep Morris the Moose Goes to School For the middle grades: Umbrella Mouse Note: there is some mild language in this book and the ones below. Sarah and I both feel that mild curse words said in a British accent don't feel troubling to us, but handle it as you wish. All Creatures Great and Small (children's version and beloved by my kids) All Creatures Great and Small (book for middle grades and up) All Creatures Great and Small (show)  Adventures with Waffles Astrid the Unstoppable Pipi Longstocking Chronicles of Narnia (a must have for every library) Tuesdays at the Castle Vanderbeekers Penderwicks For the teens: Glitch Screwtape Letters Surprised by Joy Find out more about book clubs for kids and grownups in Greta's book: Adventuring Together Sarah tells us she is chasing joy by playing a new board game with her family called : Seven Wonders You can find all of Sarah's endeavors in the links at the top of these show notes. You'll want to follow her and glean all the book goodness she has to share!  Don't forget to like and subscribe to this podcast, and I'd be so very grateful if you leave a review of the podcast on iTunes.  Reviews are incredibly helpful to me as a new podcaster. Thank you for listening and being part of my team. I love you guys! Greta
