What can we say about our friend Jeff Heisholt? He's a skilled and creative Canadian musician and keyboardist, who can definitely be considered a true ‘working’ player in the Toronto music scene. He’s spent the last 20 years on the road, throwing down mad ivory playing skills with bands and artists such as The Trews, Peter Elkas, Terra Lightfoot, Skydiggers, and Burt Neilson Band. We were really excited to sit down with Jeff and discuss his new synthesizer project ‘Current Fantasy’, a project he streams regularly to his Facebook channel, that while all 'Jeff', definitely channels many of his own musical heroes like 808 State, Aphex Twin, The Orb and Tangerine Dream. We also talk about growing up in a small town, following the musicians touring dream, G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), accretion (bless you), and how recording and playing shows has changed in the middle of a pandemic. You can find all things Current Fantasy at these links here: https://www.currentfantasy.com/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzBOqXn4Ok6pi4DRYJjkgbg https://www.instagram.com/_current_fantasy_/ https://www.facebook.com/CURRENTFANTASY https://twitter.com/JHeisholt https://open.spotify.com/artist/7uhv99MUKzx0diyRbKva3U?si=3AT1drKFQlexfb1Aok01mQ https://currentfantasy.bandcamp.com/ Current Fantasy radio shows can be heard on these fine radio stations: 101.5 Hamilton CFRU Guelph CILU 102.7 T-Bay A few other things we chat about that may be of interest to our listener: Kirsten Kosloski's documentary 'Five Bucks At The Door', about the legendary venue Crocks n'Rolls in Thunder Bay, Ontario: https://www.crocksdoc.com/ More information on SOCAN Encore streaming: http://www.socan.com/get-set-get-paid/

In this episode, Anuj sits down with Jeff Teravainen. Jeff is a well-loved actor, voiceover artist, and musician. He's played the role of Lieutenant Anders on SYFY's hit "Dark Matter", as well as roles in SYFY's "12 Monkeys" in Season 2 along with movies such as the 2019 Netflix hit, "Christmas Chronicles". Jeff has also given his likeness and voice to characters in popular animation and video games such as "Far Cry", "Splinter Cell" and "Resident Evil". Most recently, you can find Jeff as the recurring character Gerald on the new HULU / CBC series "Utopia Falls" which debuted in 2020. Jeff shares a lot about what inspires him, what influences his work and what the actual life of an actor and creative is like today. Anuj and Jeff also explore fatherhood and family, as well as what it means to be a man today, the value of boredom, and our hopes for the future. This is an honest, intimate and inspiring glimpse into Jeff''s world, and a conversation that will resonate with his fans and all aspiring actors and creatives around the world. This epsiode is probably the most casual episode yet on the podcast. Sitting watching TV and drinking wine, host Mollie Amburgey had two friends, Lily Dodenhoff and no last name 'Jeff,' casually show up at her loft. Pulling out her phone to record for this particular episode, Mollie sits down with Lily and Jeff to discuss when they have all have been culprits of 'casually showing up' somewhere, and where they maybe wish they could casually escape to. By the end of the episode, you may be inspired to go casually go to a neighborhood meeting, a prom you weren't invited to, or perhaps your Uber driver may actually roll up as a party bus.

This week on TIFF Long Take, Rob sits down with actor and filmmaker Mark Duplass. Along with his brother, Jay, the Duplass brothers have become two of the most influential figures in independent film, writing and directing films like 'The Puffy Chair', 'Cyrus', and 'Jeff, Who Lives at Home', as well producing films like 'Safety Not Guaranteed', 'The Skeleton Twins', and the recent Netflix documentary series 'Wild, Wild Country'. Their recently published memoir, 'Like Brothers', is in stores this week. Duplass talks about the challenges of being inextricably linked to a creative partner, how to create a financial model that prioritizes artistry, and why he’d rather be prolific than be a perfectionist. He also discusses why he and his brother aren’t interested in making “bigger” movies, the importance of “failing cheaply,” and his track record of giving young filmmakers a platform.
