Sean Strickland. And Again. Once again in the familiar spot of being a massive underdog in a middleweight title fight, Strickland outlasted Khamzat Chimaev to win a split decision and claim the championship for a second time in the main event of UFC 328 on Saturday. Strickland now has a handful of options for his next challenger—including a potential rematch with Chimaev—so who gets their shot at the surefire UFC Hall of Fame inductee? And what in the world do we do with Chimaev after that bizarre performance? On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee discuss who should fight Strickland first in his second UFC title reign and whether Chimaev is going to move up to 205 pounds or stay put at 185. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for Joshua Van coming off of his first successful title defense over Tatsuro Taira, where Taira goes from here, plus main card standouts Alexander Volkov, Sean Brady, and King Green, and more. UFC 328 was a genuinely good card on paper and it delivered plenty of action in practice too. Baisangur Susurkaev defeated Djorden Santos via rear naked choke to kick off our finishes, but he had a lot of folks worried up to that point. Jim Miller proved once again that he feasts off any mistake, instantly capitalizing and making Jared Gordon tap out to a guillotine. It really is Miller Time tonight. Grant Dawson would keep the submissions rolling with a nice rear naked choke of Mateusz Rebecki.Yaroslav Amosov continued to impress with his own submission, an anaconda choke of Joel Alvarez. I look forward to his next fight because it's always nice to see an outsider come in and wreck shop. Ateba Gautier's sweet KO of Ozzy Diaz rounded out the prelims, and is no doubt giving the brass another great finish to consider for one of the big bonuses.King Green kicked off the main card with a submission win over Jeremy Stephens. Yep, you read that right, King Green scored a rear naked choke at 4:20 of the first round. The jokes write themselves here. Joshua Van defended his belt in one of the best fights of the year, an action-packed firecracker. The end would come in the fifth round, a TKO that finally put Tatsuro Taira down for the night, even though he clearly wasn't ready for the fight to be called. Absolute barn-burner. In the main event, Chimaev would come out strong in the first round, absolutely smothering Strickland for the entire round. But, as history has shown us, Khamzat has the gas tank of a fruit fly and blew his wad in the first, and Sean would handily take the second round. It would take the rest of the fight for him to regain some semblance of his cardio, but never enough to have a truly dominant round, and not enough to get Strickland back down for any significant amount of time. It ended up costing him the win, as the two “standing and banging”—she said using her heaviest quote fingers—was what we got for the last three rounds, and the split decision favored Sean. Now that we've reviewed the highlights, let's check out the results and bonuses while we're here.MMA Vivisection & 6th Round is a reader-supported publication. In today's episode, a moment in history is made — Fares' first-ever solo show.He breaks down everything happening in the world of combat sports, starting with the controversial ending to UFC 321's main event, where Tom Aspinall suffered an eye poke (1:59). Unintentional vs. intentional (6:10) — and what's next for the heavyweight division (7:17)? Plus, Alex Pereira and Jon Jones keep trolling (10:51).Mackenzie Dern captures her first UFC title against Virna Jandiroba — what does this mean for the strawweight division (13:06)? Umar Nurmagomedov takes out a tough Mario Bautista (16:37), and Alexander Volkov vs. Jailton Almeida turns into a “stink poopy” (18:28). Fares also shares his thoughts on the rest of the prelims (21:54).Other topics include Conor McGregor's “spiritual journey” (27:23) and the rumored Ilia vs. Paddy matchup (29:32).https://www.instagram.com/thehbpod_/
Luke Thomas and Brian Campbell are live in the studio on a Morning Kombat Monday to go over all the news from UFC 321 — starting with the eye poke seen around the world. The guys answer questions surrounding the disappointing no contest result after Tom Aspinall was on the receiving end of a Ciryl Gane eye poke. The co-main didn't disappoint, however, as Mackenzie Dern's long road to a championship belt was fulfilled with her victory over Virna Jandiroba. And there's so much more from UFC 321 to break down including Umar Nurmagomedov's return to the win column and will Alexander Volkov get a title shot after his win on over the weekend?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Le 25 octobre prochain, lors de l'UFC 321, Jailton Almeida affronte Alexander Volkov.
Brendan Schaub recaps UFC 310 Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Asakura and talks falling asleep during Pantoja vs Asakura, terrible judging by Adalaide Byrd, why Ciryl Gane actually lost against Alexander Volkov, why Anthony Smith shouldn't've taken the fight vs Dominick Reyes because of his best friend and coach recently passing, why Ian Garry's stock went up and Shavkat Rakhmonov's stock went down, all new UFC 311 and 312 bout announcements including Islam Makhachev vs Arman Tsarukyan and Zhang Weili vs Tatiana Suarez and this weeknd's Colby Covington vs Joaquin Buckley and much more. Alexandre Pantoja had little to gain and a lot to lose at UFC 310, but he made the most of a tricky situation and turned in another sterling performance. The reigning flyweight champion notched the third straight defense of his flyweight title, taking the best shots that octagon newcomer Kai Asakura had to offer before putting him to sleep with a rear-naked choke submission in the second round. Asakura was already an out-of-left field challenger, so what's next for Pantoja, who has beaten many of his rivals, some of them twice over? On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee discuss what's next for Pantoja following the Pound-for-Pound great's latest exploits. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Machado Garry following a back-and-forth co-main event contest that may have raised both fighters' stocks, Ciryl Gane after a controversial win in his rematch with Alexander Volkov, along with fellow main card winners Bryce Mitchell and Doo Ho Choi, and more. What if Rudy sacked the quarterback and everyone booed. Our boy Hoshoryu looked like yokozuna material this tournament, but fellow ozeki Kotozakura was even better. The final pay-per-view of the year is here! This Saturday, UFC 310 takes place in Las Vegas, headlined by a flyweight title fight between Alexandre Pantoja and UFC-debutant Kai Asakura. Also on the card, two undefeated welterweights collide when Shavkat Rakhmonov faces down Ian Machado Garry in a title eliminator bout. It's the final big event of the year and No Bets Barred is here to break it all down. MMA Fighting's Jed Meshew is joined by The Action Network's Billy Ward to dive deep into UFC 310. Topics discussed this week include Asakura's chances to even make 125 pounds successfully, whether Shavkat can continue his finishing streak, if the Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov rematch is destined to end like the first, the big featherweight bout between Movsar Evloev and Aljamain Sterling, a bevy of gimmick bets, the next level up in THE CLIMB, and much more. Yeah, we know what you're thinking. First of all: Men's flyweight pay per view main event? Second of all: Who the hell is Kai Asakura? We get it. From 15,000 feet, maybe UFC 310 doesn't look like the greatest PPV of the year … and it's not. But you know what? It's actually a pretty deep fight card. Not only do you get to see the former two-time Rizin (Risin'? Risen?) bantamweight champ Asakura drop to 125-pounds and fight for the title against Alexandre Pantoja in his UFC debut, but you get to see Shavkat THAT BOY GOOD Rakhmonov and Ian (Machado!) Garry square off in a battle of undefeated prospects. Plus, you got Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov (for the interim interim interim heavyweight title, maybe) and Bryce Mitchell vs. Kron Gracie (uh, wut?) as well as appearances by such luminaries as Nate THE TRAIN Landwehr (If he doesn't lose, he'll probably win!), Vicente Luque (thankfully NOT fighting Nick Diaz), Aljamain Sterling (fighting on the prelims for some reason) and Chris Weidman (still fighting for some reason). Don't tempt us with a good time, UFC! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
