The gang comes together to discuss the crowning of two new champions at UFC 323. First, they discuss Petr Yan's masterful performance in his victory over defending champoin Merab Dvalishvili. The gang discuss what is next for Yan and the bantamweight division. They then talk about Joshua Van winning the flyweight title over Alexandre Pantoja after the champ's freak injury. The gang also talk about Talbott retiring Cejudo and Taira smoking Moreno. They then give their top 5 holiday TV episodes. All that and another edition of "Stuff We Like."

UFC 323 delivered big in their last PPV event ever (or so they say). It had all the hallmarks of a great event going in with solid matchmaking and terrific stats on paper, and the action and skill level we were treated to surpassed our expectations. Nine finishes on a 14-fight card was just the beginning of the bonanza, as we also bore witness to a comeback story that might end up being called a fight of the year. Petr Yan gave a masterclass on how to defeat Merab Dvalishvili and ended up reclaiming his belt in spectacular, high level fashion.Joshua Van took the belt from Alexandre Pantoja, but it was in an anti-climactic, depressing way. Alexandre went to post on his left arm on his way down to the canvas and let's just say it didn't cooperate, snapping the entire wrong way, grossing out multitudes of fans in the process. Henry Cejudo put on a valiant effort in his bout with Payton Talbott, but was no match for the younger man, losing convincingly, despite a warrior's performance. He retired in the cage and the promotion sent him off with a montage video. Hopefully he's actually made enough to retire for real this time.Tatsuro Taira defeated Brandon Moreno via TKO, and while some declared the referee's call a mite early, it wasn't egregious and the result would almost undoubtedly have been the same if it had gone on much longer. Taira was teeing off and Moreno wasn't putting up much in the way of defense. Now that we've reviewed most of the main card, let's check out the rest of the results and bonuses while we're here.MMA Vivisection & 6th Round is a reader-supported publication. Jim and Matt open the show with lightweight finisher Jalin Turner, who joins ahead of his return against Edson Barboza at UFC 323. Turner explains how training with Ian Machado Garry and reconnecting with his faith pulled him out of a brief retirement, helping him rediscover balance, purpose, and confidence. He also discusses studying the sport differently, and what he expects when he steps in with a tricky veteran striker like Barboza. The guys then shift into their UFC 323 predictions, breaking down a stacked card — from Merab Dvalishvili's push for a historic fourth title defense of the year to Pantoja vs. Van, Moreno vs. Taira and more!Later, former light heavyweight champion Jan Błachowicz checks in to talk about making one more run at 205, how he views the danger posed by surging finisher Bogdan Guskov, and what “Legendary Polish Power” looks like in this stage of his career. Finally, Jim and Matt close out the episode with deeper analysis on some of the remaining UFC 323 matchups.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

I met Nick back in 2015 when he took me to visit a Donetsk airport Cyborg in a military hospital in Kyiv. In this episode of Bring the Pain, I go all out after an amazing weekend. From the Bayfront Brawl to the UFC, I talked about how great it was to watch all of that and WWE's Summerslam as well. At first, I talked about Bizzaros MMA and Boxing Promotions, who is responsible for the Bayfront Brawl. Then I dove right into Summerslam since all three of these events were happening at the same time on Saturday. In the end, I have a quick review of how UFC 108 went along with our bets and DFS lineups as well. It was a wild weekend where I didn't have a lot of exposure to the sites due to being busy, but you'll get the vibes off this episode once you hear how jacked up I am. Have a great day, everyone, and may the fights be with you.

Brian Campbell and Luke Thomas are live in studio to talk UFC Vegas 108 and much more! Flyweight contender Tasuro Taira rebounded from his first career defeat to easily finish unbeaten South Korean Hyun-Sung Park. What did this performance say about the 25-year-old Japanese prospect's standing as a future threat to the UFC 125-pound title? Back-to-back main card bouts on Saturday in the 155-pound division produced incredible TV bangers as Esteban Ribovics decisioned Elves Brener and Chris Duncan outlasted Mateusz Rebecki. Both bouts shared FIGHT OF THE NIGHT honors. Which fight was better and does either one belong in the 2025 fight of the year discussion as we kick off the second half of the year? Plus, Thad Jean continued his breakout 2025 campaign by winning the welterweight tournament, $500K and gaining entry into PFL's Champions League. BC and LT recap PFL 8. Happy Morning Kombat Monday, Donks!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

UFC Vegas 108 delivered a lot of action — especially on the main card, but it was the final three bouts of the UFC's return to the APEX that will steal headlines for the next few days. In the main event, Tatsuro Taira destroyed Hyun Sung Park with relative ease via second-round submission to bounce back from his lone career loss. Following the event, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Jed Meshew react to the card, Taira's spectacular performance, his post-fight interview getting awkward with Michael Bisping, and if he could get a title shot next. Additionally, they discuss the two Fight of the Year contending lightweight bouts between Chris Duncan and Mateusz Rebecki, and Esteban Ribovics and Elves Brener, other standout performances from the Fight Night event, and much more. Tatsuro Taira is back on the winning track, but where does he currently stand in the contender line? The 25-year-old super prospect took out Hyun Sung Park in dominant fashion in the #UFC Vegas 108 main event, needing a little more than a minute to submit the short-notice opponent. Afterwards, Taira discussed possible matchups with #UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja and two-time champion Brandon Moreno. No matter what, the future is clearly bright for Taira. On an all-new edition of On To the Next One, MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee discuss what's the right career move for Taira after bouncing back from his first loss. Additionally, future matchups are discussed for Chris Duncan and Esteban Ribovics after both fighters scored thrilling wins and Fight of the Night honors, along with fellow main card winners Karol Rosa, Neil Magny, Kevin Vallejos, and more. This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit themmadrawpodcast.substack.comUFC is returning home to the Apex this weekend, and boy oh boy does it show. Not only are the stats terrible, the matchmaking seems off, as well. UFC Fight Night Taira vs Park Predictions Show on AJ Lets Talk SportsPreview & Fighter Profiles: The headliner takes place on August 2, 2025, in Las Vegas (UFC Apex), featuring undefeated Japanese contender Tatsuro Taira (16‑1‑0) against rising South Korean prospect Hyun Sung Park (10‑0‑0), in a flyweight showdown scheduled for five rounds at 125 lb.Taira, 25, had built his reputation on precise grappling control and evolving striking, while Park, 29, entered with notable finishing stats—40% by KO and 50% by submission—alongside an aggressive, high-output fighting style to offset his slightly less versatile resume Cage Walks.Narrative Stakes & Match dynamics: Park stepped in as Taira's opponent after Amir Albazi withdrew due to injury, turning this into a make-or-break moment for both fighters—Taira to reaffirm his contender status, Park for an upset that could vault him into title contention. The matchup promised a stylistic clash: Taira's composure and grappling efficiency versus Park's pressure and finishing intent. With title implications looming—especially as champion Alexandre Pantoja kept a close eye—the winner was widely expected to make a significant leap toward the flyweight Top 5.

This episode has both answers in the incredible story of Taira no Masakado - a legendary 10th-century warrior who became one of Japan's Three Great Vengeful Spirits. Discover the supernatural tale of his severed head that refused to decay, the three months it spent on display in Kyoto's marketplace, and its legendary flight back to what would become Tokyo.
