Saturday night saw Eddie Hearn and Dana White go head-to-head, even though miles apart, when they both staged TV shows on UK soil.White likely won that battle, as Chris Billam-Smith and Ryan Rozicki turned their Zuffa colours red with a violent and bloody slugfest. White wasn't done there, however. At the post-fight press conference he questioned Hearn's true influence in world boxing as he claimed to know more about Joshua-Fury than the Matchroom boss. Hearn, in response, took aim at the UFC model that made White's name. Before that, Hearn secured a fitting venue, Croke Park, for the great Katie Taylor but is Flora Pili a fitting rival? We look ahead to ‘Bam' Rodriguez in the hope victory leads to a mouthwatering showdown with Naoya Inoue. And, in This Week, dust off your disco balls and join us in 1985 where Pinklon Thomas and Mike Weaver unleash a forgotten thriller at heavyweight.Hit subscribe, show your support, and spread the good word of The Opening Bell. The guys start by talking about a potential Shakur Stevenson-Devin Haney rumored bout. Then, they talk about Chris Billam-Smith versus Ryan Rozicki, which is by far Zuffa Boxing's best fight to date. The guys are split on opinions around Zuffa, and we talk about roughly six months into the new boxing entities' rise in the sport. We also talk about light heavyweight Albert Ramirez's split decision over Lerrone Richards, and a bit on junior lightweight Josh Padley's win over Aqib Fiaz, which was a decent domestic match. IBF flyweight titleholder Masamichi Yabuki defeated Rene Calixto. Is Yabuki the forgotten pound-for-pound level talent? Andrew Moloney defeated Willibaldo Garcia Perez to win the IBF junior bantamweight title. Also, Michael Angeletti defeated Kenneth Llover in a bantamweight bout with title implications, and in “the bad boy bout,” John Riel Casimero stopped Luis Nery in four rounds. Then, we switch gears to history – Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez looks to further his legacy as he aims to be a three-division world champion, as he faces WBA bantamweight champion, Antonio Vargas. Rodriguez is currently No.3 on Lukie's pound-for-pound list, and even higher on others. A win here puts him in the running for a potential chance to become undisputed against Moloney, or even a mega-fight against Naoya Inoue. Also, on the card, women's IBF lightweight champ Elif Nur Turhan will face Gabriela Tellez, and Arturo Cardenas will rematch Jordan Martinez in a junior featherweight bout. Other bouts of note, Sunday Salita Promotions returns with Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez vs. Abraham Perez. It is a good bout, with Brandon Moore, Joshua Pagan, and others featured on the DAZN broadcast. Another MVP card will take place with Oshae Jones rematching Elia Carranza, with her IBF title on the line, and a good local fight, Bruce Seldon Jr. vs. Josh Popper, will happen in New Jersey.Timestamps0:00 Intro1:20 Devin Haney vs Shakur Stevenson7:23 CBS-Ryan Rozicki19:23 Casimero-Nery25:00 Bam Rodriguez-Antonio Vargas33:00 undercard39:30 La Bomba Gonzalez-Abraham Perez46:00 MVP card

The heavyweight division just got more interesting, Naoya Inoue is the undisputed No. 1 fighter on the planet, and two sanctioning bodies just formed the first defensive alliance in boxing history. It's been that kind of week.On this episode , we break down everything that matters. Frank Sanchez stops Richard Torrez Jr. in two rounds at the Pyramids of Giza — a perfectly scouted counter right uppercut, a carefully managed prospect exposed at the first serious test of his career, and an IBF mandatory shot at Usyk now on the table. We get into Inoue's unanimous decision over Nakatani at the Tokyo Dome — 55,000 in attendance, two unbeaten fighters, and a result that moved Inoue to No. 1 on every major pound-for-pound list simultaneously for the first time in his career. Then we cover the fight the weekly package was built around: the WBO and IBF announcing a formal alliance against Zuffa Boxing — the first time two major sanctioning bodies have coordinated against a single promoter, and what it signals about where the sport's power structure is heading. Plus Benavidez TKO6 Zurdo — three-weight world champion, Canelo manufacturing excuses in real time, and the Bivol fight that the rankings now demand. Usyk's controversial R11 stoppage of Verhoeven, the scorecards that made it genuinely complicated, and why the Joshua fight now has real questions attached to it.We close out previewing next week — we'll be on the ground at the International Boxing Hall of Fame induction weekend in Canastota, New York. Full coverage, ringside access, and the conversations you don't get anywhere else. The Corner. For the people who already know.

With breath just about regained Alex Steedman and Matt Christie reflect on a whizzbang weekend that included a majestic victory for Naoya Inoue, a stunning demolition from David Benavidez, and a hellfire slugfest between Conah Walker and Sam Eggington. There's also the not-so-small matter of Fabio Wardley-Daniel Dubois to discuss. That WBO heavyweight title fight is laced with intrigue and is all but guaranteed to deliver another rock ‘em, sock ‘em affair in the land of the giants. But who wins? Benavidez, though, is the current man of the moment after he took Gilberto Ramirez apart with astonishing savagery to leave fans – and now Team Benavidez – considering the prospect of a move to heavyweight and a challenge to Oleksandr Usyk. In Japan, there was mastery of a different kind on display as Inoue boxed beautifully to outpoint closest rival Junto Nakatani over 12 rounds. It was a contest of high quality but triggered the question: Did Nakatani give it absolutely everything? On the same day, Sam Eggington was yet again left bleeding and bruised after a two-way brawl with the irrepressible Conah Walker. We wonder if that might spell the end for Eggington and what comes next for Walker. In This Week we go back to 1989 when Herol Graham encountered Mike McCallum in a battle for the vacant WBA middleweight title and BBC staff, including Harry Carpenter, were on strike so no commentary was provided.
