Returning to the podcast this month are miniatures war gaming royalty, Andy Chambers and Gav Thorpe, here to talk about the imminent release of their game Zeo Genesis! Zeo Genesis s a scalable skirmish miniatures battle game of big armor suits locked in kinetic action. You may remember their last appearance on this podcast in 2023 but the game has come a long way since then and will be crowdfunding on Game Found in just a few days, on April 29th.Andy and Gav were kind enough to chat with me about how the game has developed over the past two years, their plans for the game's initial two player starter set, how they're navigating the tricky waters of a tariff uncertainty, their efforts to manufacture plastic miniatures in the United States, and how the game will be supported as an ongoing retail product with physical models as well as STLs. I had the chance to take a look at prototypes of the game last month at Adepticon and I'm very excited to see it all coming together. As usual, this podcast was exclusive to Brush Wielders Union members for a few days before being released to general audiences.brushwieldersunion.com

Hey there Scummers. After a HILARIOUS April fools joke, a few of our wonderful listeners decided that they werent exactly happy with your favourite hosts. So after a few messages, dm's and one particularly soul crushing email, the bullying finally worked and we have an Abhumans episode! In this episode, we cover the hooved party animals themselves, the Beastmen! From their questionable origins in the annals of history, their bravery on the battlefields of the Great Crusade to their now punishing lives under the yoke of the Imperium, or worse still, the gods of chaos, the Beastmen have been a part of our history best left forgotten. So strap on your horn-hats, befoul a settlement, stake your claim on a campsite in Freehold and ride till you die for your noble overlords. I don't know why I read everything, but I did. I'm exhausted at the moment, my brain wasn't even thinking about what to exorcise or edit, it just saw words and verbalised them. The current stars of the 40K show make their earlier mark here, a great set of jaws swallowing the galaxy from beneath. Interesting to note that so much of the current storyline is being pulled from this far back, with heavy emphasis being placed on the Octavius sector here as well.  It was the setting at the launch of the most recent edition of Kill Team and a major one in ninth edition 40K, with it's own secondary objective: retrieve octavius data. Scalable Skirmish. Kinetic Action. Big Armor Suits. That's the tagline for the upcoming miniatures game Zeogenesis, from wargaming luminaries Danny Block, Andy Chambers, and Gav Thorpe! This stellar team was kind enough to talk to me this month about their game with Danny talking logistics and production of the hard plastic minis they'll be manufacturing in North Carolina, Andy discussed the core game mechanics and dynamic terrain rules, and Gav had lots to say about the narrative and setting he's crafting for this far future science fiction setting! You may have gotten a glimpse of Zeogenesis at Adepticon this spring but the team had lots more to say, including some really exciting info about the terrain kits they'll be releasing both in hard plastic and as downloadable STL printer files. If you're attending the 2023 NOVA Open in just a few days be sure to check out their presence and say hi to Danny and Gav!Follow Zeogensis on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date and take part in their playtest. As usual, this podcast is exclusive to Brush Wielders Union members for a few days before being released to general audiences.brushwieldersunion.com

A fond fairwell to the Codex that really got me passionate about 40K and a hobby that has lasted decades. Next up, our first Codex requested by a listener. Like my readings of GW literature? Why not do me a favour and post on the Black Library Facebook page and tell them you want me to narrate one of their audiobooks? That would make my week to be honest. We are delighted to have reached a small milestone at the Crown of Command with the release of the 100th episode. And I was so pleased that Andy Chambers could join us once again to go through another of his publications with Codex Tyranids for Warhammer 40K second edition. My co anchor Kharnifex was the given the task to find out about his origins and about his xenomorphic history as he got to interview one of his heroes of the Games workshop studio and to indulge in all things 4 armed and clawed. So happy 100th birthday Crown of Command and thanks to all the people that have helped grow the podcast. Massive thanks to Andy Chambers for joining us today and if you would like to see what Andy has been working on, or would like to contact him about playtesting his latest game in development, please visit the links below: theandychambers@hotmail.com https://us.warlordgames.com/ https://www.facebook.com/theandychambers Special thanks must go to Lewis Davies for his wonderful renditions of text that Khanifex chose as atmospheric fillers for the show. If you have not heard of the Oldhammer Fiction Podcast, then I strongly urge you to go check it out and listen to the 12 stories currently uploaded and voice acted by Lewis himself. https://open.spotify.com/show/1pKCwhqhcIrSZZu4uJnOQF Thaks to my Aussie mate Khanifex for all his time and dedication to the Discord group and giving the community a pat on the back for their hardwork and helping to inspire others. And to Gert-Jan, Chris, Paul and Marcel for their contributions in sending me some fresh voices to the podcast over the last several months. I really hope this expands into new and regular content as we go forward as I enjoy listening to the communities experiences gaming or hobby related topics. And to our community on YouTube, Discord, Facebook and where ever else you are in cyber space. Thanks for your listenership and support as that's why the podcast is made and brought to you the listener. Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Hey, at least it's not such a gargantuan break as last time, is it? Seriously though, thank you very much for sticking with Oldex. I didn't realise it had been a month, I thought it was more like two weeks. For the last couple of months my depression has really battered me. It's been hard to do the bare minimum when it comes to audiobook narration and voice acting that actually pays me. Doing this passion project on top was asking too much of myself. One of those months was also spent narrating a 17+ hour audiobook for my other podcast, which is over 100 hours work. 1 hour of professional level audio, like Oldex, takes about 6 hours to do, so it was a significant chunk of my time. Thus, I appreciate you understanding why there's been a gap in episodes. I have as a result, however, improved my mastering process, so now its sounds even better! Oldex is back. Like my readings of GW literature? Why not do me a favour and post on the Black Library Facebook page and tell them you want me to narrate one of their audiobooks? Andy Chambers was so kind and gracious to acccept my invitation to come to the podcast to talk about his favorite faction in the Warhammer world and his contributions to the development of the Skaven Armies book written for 4th edtion WHFB in 1993. Plus we talk about a whole lot more and apologies for the abrupt intorduction but we just started talking and I hit the record button and went from there into a more free flowing conversation. I was nervous. What can I say. But Andy put me to ease straight away and we could have chatted for hours on the end. And on behalf of myself and the greater community we would like to thank Andy for taking time out of his day to come talk to me and to answer a long string of questions from the community.
