Holy Smoke
Sixty years on, Vatican II turns nasty

Holy Smoke

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 20, 2022 14:24

Ten years ago the Catholic Church happily celebrated the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council. Most people thought it was a good thing – and those who had their doubts were careful to express them diplomatically.  Sixty years on, by contrast, Vatican II is the source of rancorous division in a collapsing Church. Liberals, describing themselves as 'The People of God', are invoking it to propose surreal changes to the doctrine that would have scandalised the Council fathers. They like to portray the forthcoming two Synods on Synodality – whose consultations attracted only a minuscule number of lay Catholics – as the fulfilment of Vatican II. Even, in some circles, as a sort of Vatican III.  Meanwhile, traditionalists, assured by Benedict XVI that they could attend the Latin Mass without rejecting the Council, are now regularly mocked by Pope Francis for their 'rigidity'. He's busy banning their Masses, claiming that they're incompatible with Vatican II. And some traditionalists are wondering if he's right – in the sense that it was the Council that sowed the seeds of what they regard as the Bergoglian heresy. Conspiracy theories abound.  In this episode of Holy Snoke I ask whether, considering not just this present nastiness but also the failure of the 'People of God' to meet the evangelical challenges of the Council, it might have been better if Vatican II had never happened.

The Catholic Herald Podcast: Merely Catholic with Gavin Ashenden

Dr Jules Gomes, the Rome correspondent of Church Militant, joins Dr Gavin Ashenden for this eighth episode of our Merely Catholic podcast series for the Catholic Herald. They reflect on the new appointments to the College of Cardinals which mean that almost two thirds of its members have now been appointed by Pope Francis. Dr Gomes identifies the workings of a politically-radical reformist agenda in the appointments and says that the new generation of “clone” cardinals will seek the consolidation and advance of the changes of the Bergoglian era at any forthcoming conclave to elect Francis's successor. That would be the time, he says, to “watch out for rainbow-coloured smoke”.

Francis Watch

As we kick off the first episode of Francis Watch in Season 4, we will focus in on some very telling statements made by Novus Ordo Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga, Francis' right hand man at the Vatican, where he speaks of the Bergoglian revolution as one that is seeking to implement "renovation to the point where it becomes irreversible." The episode begins with a general discussion of how we are now seeing, in crystal-clear focus, the fact that Francis is a radical revolutionary who wishes to tear down anything remaining of doctrine and dogma that has been the foundation upon which the Church has stood for two thousand years. As we have said in previous episodes, in the place of doctrine, Francis' plan is to make one amalgamated dogma-less world religion, and this month's episode will further prove that statement. Topics for discussion this month: * "Irreversible renovation" and a "transformation of institutions" * The "Barque Goes Adrift" - more from Dr. Robert de Mattei * January Buzzwords: "Dynamism of Charity" and the "Theological Pluralism" * Francis' Era of Good Feelings with Secularism * Even the Atheists and Socialists understand: Francis is a Revolutionary! * Francis' terrorism solution: find an international consensus * "Responsible Parenting" - Catholics should not breed like rabbits! * Francis' goal: Christianity without Dogmas * Francis proclaims: The Church cannot take charge of consciences * Francis blames the Priests - people are leaving because of clericalism! * Universal Salvation for All! * The Solution for Unity: Encounter, not Theory * More Francis bowing to the Schismatics * Novus Ordo Cardinal Reinhard Marx: We can learn from Luther! ...and much more. We will start by tackling the latest in the Bergoglian revolution: Francis' recently released "Ten Tips for Happiness" (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/pope-francis-issues-top-10-tips-for-happiness-9639488.html) which have positively nothing to do with God, nor anything to the supernatural whatsoever. We see in this list of Bergoglio's ten suggestions, which start off with #1 being live and let live, more of his naturalistic Marxism on display, which seeks to keep the soul of man firmly grounded in naturalism and completely omits God or the faith in having anything to do with happiness. The absurdity of this list shows the absolute rancid cesspool of modernism, Marxism, socialism, naturalism, and freemasonic principles that comprises the theological mind of Jorge Bergoglio. Then we will move forward with other news bits including Bergoglio's "brother bishop" Tony Palmer (http://www.praytellblog.com/index.php/2014/02/21/pope-francis-to-his-brother-bishop-and-charistmatic-evangelical-protestants/), the fundamentalist pentecostal preacher who met his untimely demise in a motorcycle accident last month (http://www.novusordowatch.org/wire/tony-palmer-killed-accident.htm). While certainly tragic and unfortunate that Palmer went to his death a non-Catholic (and a non-bishop), it is beyond absurd and a complete mockery of Roman Catholicism that Francis ordered Palmer to receive a Episcopal Requiem Mass as well as a burial in a Catholic cemetery! (http://www.novusordowatch.org/wire/palmer-not-convert-buried.htm) Beyond this, further revelations display that Bergoglio told Palmer not to convert to the Novus Ordo faith when Palmer displayed a desire to convert. Later on, we will comment on current event topics, including the situation in the Ukraine, the beheading of journalist James Wright Foley, the condition of the human race after the fall and what society is descending into, the revolutionary history of the United States, and the Catholic understanding of suicide in the wake of the recent death of actor Robin Williams. The usual suspects have had a lot to say over the last two months, and we will cover them all in depth with the usual razor sharp analysis. Subjects and statements on tap for this episode: * Statements of the Bergoglian revolutionary frontman Walter Kasper that Francis is not a liberal, but a radical who is set upon "renewing" Catholicism in his own image and likeness. * More comments and fine-tuning of what changes are coming down the pike at the October Synod on "hot-button" topics such as the understanding of marriage: "second marriages," contraception, accepting the divorced and re-married, their reception of the sacraments, and reinterpreting the understanding of adultery. * The Jerusalem Visit * Priestly celebacy and paving the way for married clergy. * Bergoglio's visit with Patriach Bartholomew, and a "new situation for the Petrine Ministry" * More Francis-isms given to us such as: "the dictatorship of narrow thoughts," "majestically dressed clergy," and "rigid Catholics." * Updates on more strictures for the Franciscans of the Immaculate. * Francis' baptism of Martians. * Francis' Marxist redistribution of wealth. * Maradiaga's outline on Francis' new way of governing. * And much more!
