Oggi Zuppi sarà a Mosca per la seconda tappa della missione voluta da Papa Francesco. E' probabile che Zuppi possa incontrare il Patriarca di Mosca Kirill. Ed è altrettanto probabile che Zuppi possa vedere anche Putin. Mons. Paolo Pezzi, arcivescovo della Madre di Dio a Mosca e anche presidente dei vescovi cattolici russi, auspica un salto in avanti concreto nella prospettiva della riconciliazione e anche di possibili passi concreti per quel che riguarda gli aspetti umanitari come i prigionieri, gli sfollati e i migranti, come la vicenda di 18mila bambini ucraini portati in Russia e ancora trattenuti. Diciamo subito per non generare equivoci che quella dell'arcivescovo di Bologna è una missione praticamente impossibile, fortemente voluta nei mesi scorsi da papa Francesco, anche se giunge in uno dei momenti più difficili della leadership di Vladimir Putin, dopo la marcia farsa della Wagner su Mosca. Non si tratta di una mediazione vaticana, gli uomini di Bergoglio sono consapevoli di non avere la bacchetta magica. È piuttosto il tentativo di costruire una rete di rapporti che permetta, come sostiene il cardinale Segretario di Stato Pietro Parolin, di togliere ogni ostacolo per la pace. Oppure, come ha detto lo stesso Zuppi, trasformare il nemico in un avversario, passare dalla mentalità militare alla mentalità politica. Non sarà facile, ma il tentativo di Zuppi è l'unico messo in campo in questi lunghi mesi di guerra e va sostenuto, appoggiato, difeso.

Ed è un servizio per tutti: i figli non sono beni individuali, ma persone che contribuiscono alla crescita di tutti, apportando ricchezza umana e generazionale”, sostiene Bergoglio. “Vogliamo una nazione nella quale non sia un tabù dire che la maternità non è in vendita, che gli uteri non si affittano, che i figli non sono prodotti da banco", afferma la premier che prosegue il suo ragionamento identitario basato su perni ideologici. “Vogliamo una nazione nella quale non sia più scandaloso dire che qualsiasi siano le legittime, libere scelte e inclinazioni di ciascuno, siamo tutti nati da un uomo e da una donna“, ribadisce Meloni. Il vocabolario utilizzato da Francesco esprime concezioni distanti da quelle di Giorgia. E' la forma che diventa sostanza. Ad esempio, il pontefice ha ribadito che viviamo in una crisi dalla quale possiamo uscire solo se c'è solidarietà. “La signora primo ministro ha parlato della crisi, parola chiave. Ma ricordiamo che dalla crisi non si esce da soli. O usciamo tutti o non usciamo" ha detto il Papa. Ed è così. Dalla crisi non si esce uguali: o usciremo migliori oppure come accaduto dopo la pandemia talmente peggiori da non poterci più guardare serenamente davanti ad uno specchio.

A cura di Ferruccio Bovio Come è ormai noto, la partecipazione di Pietro Orlandi, fratello della sventurata Emanuela, ad una trasmissione televisiva ha destato grande scalpore per la sensazionalità delle affermazioni da lui fatte in merito alla condotta morale di alcuni tra i maggiori esponenti del Vaticano degli Anni 80, compreso addirittura il pontefice dell'epoca: e vale a dire quel Giovanni Paolo II° che è stato santificato nel 2014. Non stiamo qui adesso a ripetere le opinioni che, su questa vicenda, abbiamo già espresso la settimana scorsa, ma ci soffermiamo, invece, sull'estrema cautela con la quale la Santa Sede sta affrontando la spinosissima questione. A stupirci è, infatti, il silenzio assoluto che ha accompagnato le dichiarazioni rilasciate dall'Orlandi: dichiarazioni che – almeno a lasciarsi guidare da un minimo di buon senso - appaiono talmente stupefacenti da rasentare l'allucinazione. Eppure, prima della tardiva solidarietà nei confronti del suo predecessore manifestata solo ieri da papa Francesco in occasione dell'Angelus, a prendere le difese di Karol Wojtyla si è distinto esclusivamente il suo storico segretario - cardinale Stanislao Dziwiz - il quale ha definito “criminali” le parole pronunciate dal fratello di Emanuela. Come mai nessun'altra voce si è levata a smentire insinuazioni che, se dovessero realmente trovare conferma, varcherebbero clamorosamente la soglia dell'immaginabile? Il Vaticano ha deciso di fare luce fino in fondo su questo inquietante enigma che si trascina ormai esattamente da quarant'anni: ed a questo proposito, l'agenzia Vatican News chiarisce che l'autorità giudiziaria dello Stato Pontificio ha ricevuto, dallo stesso papa Bergoglio, un mandato pieno ad indagare ogni pista possibile per cercare la verità sul caso di Emanuela. Compresa quella che viene indicata dall'audio di un esponente della banda della Magliana che chiama direttamente in causa proprio il papa polacco. Tuttavia, dinanzi alla richiesta, avanzata dal magistrato che conduce l'inchiesta, circa la natura delle fonti dalle quali Pietro Orlandi avesse attinto le sue informazioni, sia il diretto interessato che la sua legale, Laura Sgrò, hanno ritenuto di non dover rispondere, rimanendo nel vago oppure appellandosi al segreto professionale. Strano perché proprio l'avvocato Sgrò, nei mesi scorsi, aveva più volte lamentato di non essere mai stata convocata in Vaticano per fornire il suo contributo agli sviluppi dell'indagine...e quando, finalmente, le viene offerta l'opportunità di collaborare con il magistrato, sceglie di trincerarsi dietro lo schermo del segreto professionale, senza chiarirne bene la ragione. Pertanto, in attesa di assistere a nuovi ed ulteriori colpi di scena, cominciamo a pensare che il mistero di Emanuela Orlandi sia destinato a rimanere tale anche per i prossimi quarant'anni.

Papa Francesco invoca la parola pace, anche il giorno di Pasqua, al termine della messa celebrata sul sagrato di piazza San Pietro. Bergoglio ha pronunciato il suo discorso dalla loggia centrale della Basilica Vaticana. “Conforta i feriti – ha affermato il Papa – e quanti hanno perso i propri cari a causa della guerra e fa' che i prigionieri possano tornare sani e salvi alle loro famiglie. Apri i cuori dell'intera comunità internazionale perché si adoperi a porre fine a questa guerra e a tutti i conflitti che insanguinano il mondo, a partire dalla Siria, che attende ancora la pace. “Aiuta l'amato popolo ucraino nel cammino verso la pace, ed effondi la luce pasquale sul popolo russo”, dice Francesco. Anche durante la via crucis al Colosseo aveva voluto affidare una meditazione a un giovane ucraino e a uno russo, pensando sempre sia al popolo aggredito che a quello del Paese aggressore. Il Papa, però, resta uno dei pochi fermamente convinti che per giungere alla pace bisogna far tacere le armi e avviare una seria via diplomatica. Lo sforzo di Francesco viene però vanificato dalla cronaca quotidiana e dall'assoluta propensione a proseguire con ogni mezzo la guerra. La conferma giunge dall'ammissione del Presidente francese Emmanuel Macron:"Oggi il tempo è militare. Gli ucraini resistono e noi li aiutiamo. Non è il momento delle trattative, anche se le prepariamo". Mancano la volontà, il coraggio, la determinazione per giungere quanto meno al cessate il fuoco. E manca una figura super partes autorevole in grado di far sedere allo stesso tavolo vittime e carnefici. La guerra per i leader del mondo deve solo continuare. Fino a quando?

Argentiinalainen Jorge Mario Bergoglio valittiin maailman tuntemaksi paavi Franciscukseksi 10 vuotta sitten, maaliskuussa 2013. Nopeasti kävi kuitenkin ilmi, että Franciscuksen valtakautta ohjasi omanlaisensa visio katolisen kirkon tulevaisuudesta ja merkityksestä. Minkälainen Franciscuksen visio kirkosta on ollut, ja mihin suuntaan hänen kylvämänsä muutoksen siemenet ovat vuosikymmenen jälkeen versomassa? Vai onko paavi Franciscuksen jälkeen odotettavissa jälleen käänne kohti konservatiivisempaa uskontulkintaa? Mitä ajatella esimerkiksi katolisen kirkon julkisuuskuvaa repivistä pedofiliasyytöksistä, asenteista seksuaali ja sukupuolivähemmistöjä kohtaan tai naisten asemasta kirkon valtarakenteissa? Mitä voidaan ylipäätään spekuloida 86-vuotiaan Franciscuksen tulevasta seuraajasta, jonka identiteetti on jo miljoonaluokan veikkauskohde vedonlyöntitoimistoissa? Ja onko tällä kaikella ylipäätään mitään merkitystä elämälle täällä pohjolan perukoilla? Miltä näyttää katolisen kirkon tulevaisuus muuttuvan maailman monien ristipaineiden keskellä? Well, looks like the vaccine mandate has caused an unsurprising shortage in hospitals. Sadly, this means that the hospital the Waukesha victims were taken to didn't have the staff available like they had the year before. It's a tragic situation all the way around, but also completely preventable. Tragedy begets tragedy it seems. Also: Behold! The 2021 Vatican Nativity is nearly ready for visiting.
