Send us a text by clicking this link! When 77-year-old priest Father Charles Murr gets behind the microphone, he doesn't just share memories – he unveils a chilling narrative about the systematic dismantling of Catholic tradition that he's witnessed since his ordination in 1977. What makes this conversation extraordinary isn't just the historical perspective, but Father Murray's personal proximity to pivotal Vatican events that changed the Church forever. The picture Father Murr paints is startling. From the glory days of America's Catholic education system where tuition cost just $15 per year and devoted nuns taught packed classrooms, to the bewildering exodus of 500,000 religious sisters and 10,000 Jesuit priests after Vatican II. His most explosive revelations concern alleged Freemason infiltration at the highest levels of Church governance – including the architect of the Novus Ordo Mass and the cardinal responsible for appointing bishops worldwide.Father Murr's firsthand account of Pope John Paul I's mysterious death after just 33 days in office reads like a spiritual thriller. As someone who drove Cardinal Gagnon to audiences with both John Paul I and John Paul II, his perspective on what happened behind closed Vatican doors offers rare insight into one of the Church's most perplexing moments. The connection between John Paul I's confrontation with corrupt officials and his sudden death raises questions that still linger today.Despite witnessing decades of institutional deterioration and what he calls "the greatest crisis in 2,000 years of Church history," Father Murr maintains a surprising optimism about the upcoming conclave. His assessment of the cardinal electors, particularly those from Africa and Asia, suggests that divine intervention could still turn the tide. For anyone seeking to understand why traditional Catholics view the coming papal election as a pivotal moment for civilization itself, this conversation provides essential context and unexpected hope.Sponsored by Recusant Cellars, an unapologetically Catholic and pro-life winery from Washington state. Patrick addresses the topic about the miracle of loaves and fishes. A listener expresses her concern over a homily that claimed the real miracle was people sharing their food. Patrick explains why this interpretation misses the mark. The scripture clearly states that Jesus performs a miraculous act, multiplying loaves and fishes to feed thousands. Sharing is kind, but it doesn't classify as a miracle. Zach - What is the difference between generational sin and generational demons? (26:53) Chris – “For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever”. That was a protestant phrase that got into the Novus Ordo Mass (39:13) Gale - My pastor said the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes was not a miracle (43:19)

In today's show Dr. Anders takes on challenging questions about the SSPX and the Novus Ordo Mass, the evolution of Catholic teaching, mental prayer and more.
Of the four Eucharistic Prayer options in a Novus Ordo Mass, there is only one that has its origins in the apostles and the words of Our Lord Himself. Eucharistic Prayer I, or the Roman Canon, is the only option in the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) – and also the option least used by priests who say the Novus Ordo. Father David Nix, a diocesan hermit and priest of 14 years, explains the infallible teaching behind the origin of the Roman Canon prayed at every TLM. He also refutes the modernist justification for shortening the various prayers connected to the sacraments. Although Novus Ordo sacraments are still valid, Fr. Nix maintains they are indeed less powerful than the old variations.Download the all-new LSNTV App now, available on iPhone and Android!LSNTV Apple Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lsntv/id6469105564 LSNTV Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lifesitenews.app ****PROTECT Your Wealth with gold, silver, and precious metals: https://stjosephpartners.com/lifesitenews +++SHOP ALL YOUR FUN AND FAVORITE LIFESITE MERCH! https://shop.lifesitenews.com/ +++Connect with John-Henry Westen and all of LifeSiteNews on social media:LifeSite: https://linktr.ee/lifesitenews John-Henry Westen: https://linktr.ee/jhwesten Hosted on Acast. One of the great roles of Holy Mother Church is to teach us how to speak to God, to create in our hearts the proper dispositions of religion. She does this especially through her liturgy, where we have a ceremony prepared for us such that all we have to do is enter into it and make ourselves one with it, as far as possible, in order to become holy. One of the most powerful ways in which the Church teaches us the sentiments we should have in our souls, and creates those sentiments in us is through her hymns. There are hundreds upon hundreds of hymns that have been created throughout the centuries, providing the Church with a vast musical repertoire.Among them all, there are two, however, that seem to stand out above the rest, two hymns of sorrow, two hymns concerned with the most lamentable topic possible: death. One is the Dies Irae, about the Last Judgment; the other is the Stabat Mater, about Our Lady witnessing the death of Our Lord. Both were composed in the 1200s; both were used as sequences at Mass and were among the five sequences that were kept by Pope Pius V when he canonized the Tridentine Mass. Both of them were set to music by great composers on their deathbed. Mozart was composing music for the Dies Irae when he died at the age of 35; Pergolesi was composing music for the Stabat Mater when he died at the age of 26.Both of them were lost to the liturgy of the Church when the Novus Ordo Mass got rid of Latin and Gregorian Chant. We are blessed to be able to hold on to them and profit from them by holding on to the traditional Mass.We are more familiar with the Stabat Mater than the Dies Irae because we sing the Stabat Mater whenever we pray the Stations of the Cross during Lent. The Franciscans have a great devotion to the Passion of Our Lord and you know that St. Francis of Assisi received the very wounds of Our Lord in his body. Less than a century after the death of St. Francis, the Franciscan Jacopone da Todi composed the Stabat Mater. His composition is so beautiful and inspiring that over 300 composers have set the words of the hymn to music. The hymns has twenty stanzas. The first four stanzas set the scene by telling the story of what is happening; the next four stanzas make an appeal to the one listening to the hymn to have sympathy for this mother who is standing at the foot of the cross of her dying Son. Then there are ten stanzas addressed directly to Our Lady, making beautiful requests of her. Finally, the hymn ends with two stanzas addressed to Our Lord, asking Him that we may go to Heaven when we die.I would like for us to focus upon those ten stanzas in the middle of the hymn where we make our appeal to Our Lady.

Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”Is the Catholic Church facing an unprecedented crisis? Join us for an enlightening conversation with Bishop Athanasius Schneider as we tackle the pressing challenges undermining the Church and Western civilization today. We compare the current climate of relativism and heretical acceptance to historical crises such as the Arian crisis of the fourth century and the modernist theories of the 19th and 20th centuries. Explore the nuances of the Second Vatican Council with us through the lens of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre'sinterpretations. Reflecting on Pope Paul VI's indication that the council did not propose infallible teachings, we emphasize the importance of future magisterium to rectify these issues. Personal anecdotes and experiences are shared to provide practical advice for Catholic families aiming to prioritize their love for God as the cornerstone of their faith. We also discuss the liturgical changes post-Vatican II, focusing on the significant departures from the guidelines of Sacrosanctum Concilium. Our discussion delves into the controversies surrounding the Novus Ordo Mass and the historical reactions from Church leaders. We explore why some clergy find the Traditional Latin Mass and its Christocentric approach uncomfortable compared to the anthropocentric Novus Ordo. Ending on a hopeful note, we underscore that the Church's essence is divinely safeguarded, irrespective of any one Pope's influence. When Storms Hit: Trust in the Captain! In this episode of The Patrick Madrid Show, Patrick addresses a heartfelt dilemma from a devout Catholic listener. She's torn between her love for the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) and her discomfort with the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) community near her. Listener's Dilemma: Raised Catholic: Deeply committed to her faith. SSPX Parish Nearby: Feels uneasy about their anti-Pope stance. Love for TLM: Finds the Traditional Latin Mass profoundly beautiful. Valid Mass: Believes the new Mass is valid and respects those who attend it. Deep Dive: Understanding SSPX If you're unfamiliar with SSPX, Patrick will tell you more about it and how it came about. The Society of St. Pius X was founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in the mid-20th century. Lefebvre, a French-speaking bishop, was dedicated to the traditional liturgy and established a seminary in Switzerland. He upheld the traditional Latin Mass even after Vatican II introduced the Novus Ordo Mass. Key Points: Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre: Missionary work in Africa; founder of SSPX. SSPX and Vatican II: Opposition to the changes introduced by Vatican II's Sacrosanctum Concilium. Consecration Controversy: Lefebvre's unauthorized consecration of four bishops in 1988 led to excommunication by St. Pope John Paul II. Current Status: Excommunications lifted by Pope Benedict XVI, but SSPX remains in a complex canonical status. There's still a lot of confusion, unfortunately. The Ongoing Debate: Schism or Not? Canon lawyers and church authorities debate SSPX's official standing. Confession Faculties: Pope Francis granted SSPX priests faculties to hear confessions. Flourishing Independently: Despite the controversies, SSPX has grown with numerous chapels and vocations. Patrick's Insights: Affirming Validity: The new Mass is valid. Even SSPX adherents should recognize this, despite their criticisms. Current Restrictions: Acknowledge the restrictions on TLM but maintain peace and trust in Jesus. Biblical Wisdom: Patrick draws a parallel with Mark 4:35-41, where Jesus calms the storm while the apostles panic. Advice for the Journey: Stay Calm: Don't let the fear overwhelm your faith. Trust in Jesus: He guides the Church through all storms. Remain Loyal: Stay faithful to the Church and avoid fringe groups. Pray and Hope: Things will improve with time. Reflection Passage: Mark 4:35-41: Reflect on Jesus calming the storm and trust in His leadership through turbulent times. Inspiring Hymn: Stabat Mater Dolorosa: A beautiful reminder of standing faithfully at the foot of the cross, just like Our Lady. Final Encouragement: Stay the course, remain Catholic, and trust in Jesus. Remember, this is His Church, and He will guide it safely through every storm.
Patrick explores the origins and contentious history of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) and the circumstances that led to its schism from the Catholic Church. Patrick offers a deep dive into a listener's concerns about the traditional Latin Mass and the SSPX community's critical views on the Novus Ordo Mass and the papacy. Email – What can we do if the Latin Mass is taken away from us? (00:49) Lee - I went to a Latin Mass for the first time and noticed that confession was also happening at the same time. Is that normal? (24:22) Gina - The Mass is all the same everywhere in the world. Why is the Latin Mass becoming so controversial? (29:33) Ronald - If someone is excommunicated, what can they do and what can they not do? (42:12) Katlyn - Is there a book I can get to learn about all of the basic stories in the bible? I want to know what my son is learning as he goes to Catholic School. Patrick recommends “Inside the Bible” by Ken Baker (46:30) Patrick recommends “The Great Adventure Catholic Bible!" by Jeff Cavins.

Fr. Daniel Alloy, FSSP has served as Parochial Vicar at Regina Caeli Parish in Houston, Texas since July of 2022. He was ordained in June of 2020. In Today's Show At my FSSP and ICKSP churches, they have dress codes. It doesn't really bother me because I always dress "correctly" for mass. But wouldn't this turn away sinners? What is the cover used for chant pages? I've seen them, usually in the Liturgical Color of that season, in the Traditional Mass, though usually in Pontifical Liturgies. What is it called? Matthew 23:9 says "Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven". Why are Catholic priests called Father? If Jesus came to fulfill the law of Moses, then did He also fulfill the Ten Commandments, or are those still in full force? Questions about the validity of various versions of the St. Benedict / Miraculous Medals Can a traditional priest from the FSSP or ICKSP celebrate the Novus Ordo Mass occasionally, if for example he is visiting a church back home and wants to do that for parishioners? I know the Constitutions of these societies mention the exclusive celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass, but does this Constitution actually forbid a priest of such a community to say the Ordinary Form? My questions revolved around receiving communion during mass. I've been baptized and received my first communion when I was younger. During mass everyone receives it but I'm hesitant to get up because I always had an understanding that you must confess before mass to receive communion, which no one does here. I also was not married through the church, which I always understood makes me not able to receive communion. I really want to receive communion on Sundays but am unsure because I don't want to do it and end up not being able to and disobey God. So my question is: Is it okay for me, or should I not? I am discerning a vocation. I believe I will enter seminary in a few years, and I have some questions about it. How well must I know latin, how hard is it in seminary? Do I have to learn any more languages? Also, I am bad at singing! In today's Gospel, what did Our Lord mean by "Render what belongs to Cesar to Cesar and render what belongs to God to God? I heard the Gospel on the radio but missed the homily. I was in a Eucharistic Procession this past Corpus Christi Sunday and the Monstrance had no canopy above it and the Deacon was carrying it. Wondering why this may have been? In the TLM, should we strike or beat our chest three times at the Consecration? I saw Father on the live stream of the ordinations! Father, why do so many priests attend the ordinations? Is there a special reason for it? Sermon for Sunday, April 28, 2024 - First Communion for Novus Ordo Mass.
Embark on an intellectual odyssey as we grapple with the enduring theological disputes between Catholicism and Protestantism. Could diving into the depths of these religious intricacies offer you a richer understanding of your faith? Our discussions cut through the misconceptions and contentious debates, from the evangelical misreadings of Catholic practices to the fictitious entanglements of paganism and Catholicism. We examine the role of faith and works in salvation, scrutinize the traditional critique of the Novus Ordo Mass, and consider the implications of individualism post-Reformation. Witness as we explore the intimate connections fostered within the Church, sharing insights on the veneration of saints and the significance of relics in the early Church that bind us to a spiritual lineage. As we navigate the moral and political mazes of abortion rights and the pro-life movement, questioning the effectiveness of advocacy and political strategies, we also delve into the challenges faced by non-profit management in this sector. Conversations take a twist as we humorously critique the dating dynamics between traditional Latin Mass-goers and Novus Ordo attendees and navigate the delicate balance of open-mindedness and respectful disagreement within the Catholic community. Our candid approach pulls no punches when addressing the quirks and quandaries of contemporary Catholicism, all while emphasizing the centrality of maintaining unity amidst diverse liturgical preferences and theological views. So tune in and allow us to challenge what you thought you knew about the faith that has shaped centuries and continues to inspire vigorous debate to this day.Support the show********************************************************https://www.avoidingbabylon.comLocals Community: https://avoidingbabylon.locals.comRSS Feed for Podcast Apps: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1987412.rssSpiritusTV: https://spiritustv.com/@avoidingbabylonOdysee: https://odysee.com/@AvoidingBabylon
Patrick engages with a caller named Billy, whose unyielding views on the Catholic Church sparked a fiery and impassioned exchange. Addressing common misconceptions and challenges, Patrick delves into the depths of doctrine and scripture to defend the faith with both vigor and respect. While the conversation with Billy becomes particularly intense, it embodies the spirited dialogue that's become a hallmark of the show. As we navigate these discussions, Patrick continues to invite differing opinions, seeking understanding and common ground. It's a testament to the show's commitment to tackling tough questions and fostering a community where every voice can be heard. Karen - Why is the Bread of Life Discourse only found in the Gospel of John? Cecilia - My daughter was asked to do 'the Eye of God' in her Spanish class. Is that part of a cult? Jenny - I would encourage others to do homeschooling. I was originally hesitant but it has been good for my kids. Ana - Can I receive the Eucharist while wearing Invisalign? Jerry - I read two papal bowls and a book on Vatican II and a bunch of other books saying that the Latin Mass is the only true Mass. Should I stop going to the Novus Ordo Mass? Email – Is it a mortal sin to miss Mass if I'm voluntarily working overtime? Tom - I am a Protestant and if the Catholics did call Protestants heretics then I wouldn't be interested in the Catholic Faith. I appreciate being able to listen to your show. (25:47) Billy - I am a Protestant and would like to bring up four points. 1. Don't build up treasures (pope does that), 2. no praying to saints, 3. call no one father, 4. and confess only to God. (28:36) Randall - How do you keep yourself from falling into a angry mentality like the last caller, Billy?
Fr. William Rock, FSSP serves as Parochial Vicar at Regina Caeli Parish in Houston, Texas. He was ordained in October of 2019 and serves as a regular contributor to the FSSP North America Missive Blog and the TAN Direction Blog. In Today's Show For non-practicing Catholics or those returning to the Church, can you please discuss when to use or apply a novena versus a prayer? Also, when to use a Marian prayer vs. an Angelic prayer vs. Adoration? What are some good written resources for non-Catholics to understand the basics of Catholicism such as the reason for the sacraments, the role of the Priest, etc? Can you please explain the origins of some of the “famous” Catholic Lenten practices such as no meat on Fridays and the reception of ashes on Ash Wednesday? I saw an interview today with a Catholic priest and he mentioned that he had been married, but he didn't mention what had happened to the marriage. Can a man become a priest if he has an annulment? Is it possible for someone to become 'too' religious to the point of being obsessive? Does the Catholic Church have an official stance on when God created the world in six days? I've heard Catholic sources say that God didn't literally mean six days, but that one day could mean a thousand years. I personally believe it was a literal six days and I don't understand why, in this case, the scriptures wouldn't be taken literally. What is the difference between the FSSP and SSPX? Is it ok to receive sacraments through the SSPX? Does the FSSP allow attendance at a Novus Ordo Mass? Was Mary Baptized? How do we reconcile Luke 23:43 (“And He said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise")? Can you tell me more about Novenas? What are they and how are they used? I have been suffering with various illnesses and depression for a number of years. If it is truly God's will that I live with this, can you give me some advice on how to truly accept God's will and be at peace with it? Why on Ash Wednesday, after the priest blessed the ashes, did he sprinkle some of the ashes on the other priests' heads? How are the decades of the Rosary to be said during Lent? When praying the 15-decade Rosary, should you pray the Glorious Mysteries during Lent on Sundays? What did Jesus do for the forty days between Easter and the Ascension? Why are sedevacantists considered excommunicated for holding on delicately to Tradition when many other Catholics continue, more progressively, to do what they want with no consequences? Could you please describe an ideal traditional Lent? Is there no meat for all 40 days? What prayers are recommended? What type of burden does Confession put on the priest? Trans McDonalds Commercial – “There's so much love to share this Christmas!” House Foreign Affairs Cahir Mike McCaul - “We know that Egypt had warned Israel 3 days prior that an event like this could happen, we know that this has been planned ... as long as a year ago.” Robert - I think we should always be on the look out to be a 'Philip' to someone else's children. What do you think about that passage being an argument against Sola Scriptura? Agnes - I was abused by a priest in my teen years. I find the Eucharist to be the most comforting thing and helped me in recovering. It is important to tell priests how valuable they are. Hallow App Defends Partnership With Liam Neeson, a Supporter of Abortion Jay - My brother wrote to me asking how is the Novus Ordo Mass any less schismatic than the Lutheran reformation? (30:06) George - Congrats and thank you for your comments about the terrible things the Hallow app did. Connie - I learned McDonalds was employing drag queens for advertising. I will not be going to McDonalds anymore. Ken - How do I talk about the Church Scandal with my children? They are adults and I think they are using the scandal as an excuse to miss Mass.

Homily for Sunday, August 13, 2023 - Novus Ordo Mass.
What happens when traditional Catholic theology clashes with modern interpretations in the liturgy? Join us as we embark on an enlightening exploration of the Novus Ordo Mass and the implications it has on our faith. We'll compare it with the Traditional Latin Mass, known for its fervor and reverence, challenging our listeners to experience both and feel the stark contrast. As we journey through this discourse, we'll spotlight how changes in the English liturgy have induced a shift in doctrine, a trend that seems to be ominously surfacing today. We'll also delve into the intricate details of the TLM's rubrics and the significance of altar placements, reflecting on how these dimensions can shape the faith experience. Our exploration will reveal how the Novus Ordo Mass, with its flexible rubrics, has led to considerable variations in Church services. This, we fear, may lead to a de facto schism, with Catholics 'church hopping' akin to Protestant traditions. As we traverse these discussions, we'll also share insights into the Eucharist as a communal meal, reminding us of our place in the Father's family. Finally, we'll journey through traditional Catholic theology, exploring the theology of Sacrosanctum Concilium and its relevance to the Novus Ordo Mass. On this episode the guys tackle the very difficult topic of the validity of the Novus Ordo Mass.
Questions Covered: 06:14 – What is the Catholic response to the accusation that the church is a “revamped/updated” version of Judaism? 11:11 – How did the Apostles know what to say after the Last Supper? How do we know that their words do indeed consecrate the host? 18:22 – I had a mass said by my priest at Christmastime for a late term abortionist that just started a business last year. When the priest says the mass, it's for their intentions but I don't want their intentions honored. How does that work, and does it need to be changed? 22:30 – My mother-in-law is not Catholic, and my wife is a convert. My mother-in-law insists on her ashes being split when she passes away. Would going to her funeral knowing this be condoning the splitting of her ashes? 24:31 – In the Our Father we say “…and lead us not into temptation…” Jesus says in the bible “a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.” Why do we ask Christ not to lead us into temptation if he wouldn't do so in the first place? 29:44 – I'm a protestant and want to go to mass and start RCIA. Can you explain why there is so much disagreement in the church about the Latin Mass and the Novus Ordo Mass? 37:40 – Is there a connection between the skull cap and the Jewish yarmulke? Also, what's the significance of the large cap the pope wears? 42:25 – Why do I feel like I'm demanding things from God when praying certain prayers? For example, “…lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.” 44:51 – I confessed that I had an “impure thought” and the priest asked me to tell him what exactly that impure thought was. If that ever happened again, am I obligated to tell him that? 48:13 – We have rules and regulations but are never encouraged to bring back fallen away Catholics. Why is that never addressed by the clergy and how can we approach this better? 51:38 – What's the difference between Lourdes water and holy water? Is there a difference between blessing yourself and blessing a room with either? …
Anthony and Rob discuss the rumors and leaks of a possible upcoming Apostolic Constitution from Pope Francis that could further restrict the traditional Latin Mass even more than "Traditionis custodes". Another disturbing part of the rumor is that changes will also be made to the Novus Ordo Mass. As recent Masses in the Vatican show, one part of those changes could be Communion in the hand being made law. If that happens, what will you personally do?#Catholic #PopeFrancis #Christian #Trad********************************************************Avoiding Babylon was started during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. During these difficult and dark days, when most of us were isolated from family, friends, our parishes, and even the Sacraments themselves, this channel was started as a statement of standing against the tyrannical mandates that many of us were living under. Since those early days, this channel has morphed into an amazing community of friends…no…more than friends…Christian brothers and sisters…who have grown in joy and charity.Avoiding Babylon does not criticize the hierarchy or institutional Church, especially Pope Francis. We recognize there is an unprecedented crisis in the Church, but we feel that there are other shows that address these issues that are more qualified than us. Instead, we try to remind ourselves and those who enjoy the channel that being Catholic is a joyful and exciting experience. We seek true Catholic fraternity and eutrapelia with other Catholics who, like us, are doing their best to live out their vocation with the help of God's Grace. Above all, we try to bring humor and joy to the craziness of this fallen world, for as Hillaire Belloc has famously said:“Wherever the Catholic sun doth shine,There's always laughter and good red wine.At least I've always found it so.Benedicamus Domino!”https://www.avoidingbabylon.comTelegram Chat: https://t.me/+0Y7wFEkoovg1NTcx Support the showCheck out our new store!
Patrick answers listener questions about the Novus Ordo Mass, if you can pray for people if you yourself are not in a state of grace, and if telling someone engaged in sinful behavior that they will go to hell if they die right now Patrick responds to an email asking if Novus Ordo is valid Mike - I still enjoy the Traditional Latin Mass Tom - Why are apologetics so unknown to people in the Catholic Church? Mary Ann - Can I pray for people when I am not in the state of grace? Greg - If something is provided by the Church, like confession or the Mass, that is not done right and is invalid, how culpable am I if I don't know that it's invalid? Sandra - I told someone in a Trans relationship that if they died in a car accident they would go straight to hell. Was that right of me to say?
Patrick responds to an email accusing him of failing to acknowledge that Jesus did not celebrate the Novus Ordo Mass. Chris – I haven't owned a TV in years because of the violence but some movies require horrendous visual elements to properly portray the reality of the horror of our history Patrick responds to an email that is “praying for his health” Al - How do you interpret Jose 4: 1-6, in relation to today's society? Patrick answers an email from a parent with an adult child living with her boyfriend Diane – Does Saturday evening Mass communion count for my Sunday obligation? Patrick - My father passed away, and my sister is in control of his burial. She wants to sprinkle his ashes. What other options can I give her? Continuing our conversation from last week, tune in to hear the Restless crew discuss the beauty of the traditional liturgy, how it can help to improve and inform the Novus Ordo Mass, and how it can help us grow in holiness!
Patrick shares audio of “How to be miserable for the rest of your life” Will - Is the Novus Ordo Mass legitimate to do? Patrick shares audio from Lila Rose on Dr. Phil Stella - Why do some Christians have a longer Our Father prayer than others? Patrick shares audio from the children's show “Peppa Pig” where a same-sex couple is introduced and is another step towards normalizing a gay lifestyle to young minds
Questions Covered: 02:32 – If demons can possess people, could Raphael have possessed a willing host such that when he introduced himself as Azarias son of the great Ananias he wasn’t actually lying? I heard an answer recently where you addressed this falsehood and my husband came up with this potential alternate solution. 12:11 – What blessings can a layperson give? What effect does it have? How does it differ from blessings given by priests bishops and deacons? 17:17 – If God is omniscient, why does he create souls he knows he is going to throw into hell at the end of their life? 23:33 – Jimmy, I love your Mysterious World! Can you explain what the Apostolic Pardon is? I think many people would be interested to learn about this since none of us are getting out of this world alive. Thank you and God bless. 29:44 – The Enchiridion of Indulgences seems to grant a plenary indulgence at the moment of death to every Catholic who makes a regular practice of praying throughout their life. Can you confirm this, and whether this is something automatically applied to every Catholic who regularly prays, such that purgatory for praying Catholics is not an option? 36:59 – Does the penance given in the confessional in response to a good full confession equate to a plenary indulgence? 40:28 – What is the canonical status of the Greek introduction to the Book of Sirach? Is it considered to be an inspired part of the book or is it more like the Greek Ezra, 3 Maccabees, or Psalm 151–a work associated with the Bible, and sometimes even printed in the Bible, but not considered to be Scripture (“semi-scriptural stuff”)? 47:46 – What is the difference between sinful usury of biblical times and non-sinful usury of modern times? 50:10 – Is somebody who is unable to access their preferred form of the Mass (e.g., someone who would usually go to a Latin Mass and only a Novus Ordo Mass is accessible, or vice versa as well) required to attend another form to meet their Sunday/Holy Day obligation? And if so, what can someone say to somebody who is convinced they are excused from their obligation if their preferred form of the Mass is not accessible on a given obligatory day? Today John and Sam are joined by his Excellency, Bishop James Conley. Bishop Conley was an agonistic listening to the Grateful Dead and ultimately converted to Catholicism during his college years. We discuss the balance of the liturgy in his diocese that has the FSSP seminary (Latin Mass) as well as Novus Ordo Mass. He shares what it has been like to be a Bishop and how to regain authentic masculinity in the Church and society today. In this episode of What Catholics Believe, Thomas Naegele and Father Jenkins discuss current events from a traditional Catholic perspective. First, pray for Mary Catherine Wheeler, who recently passed away; for Monica Lichter, who is still recovering from a severe car accident; pray for young Jude, who will undergo an important medical procedure; pray for Father's other intentions, please. Nancy Pelosi barred from Novus Ordo communion San Francisco bishop Salvatore Cordileone; Pelosi's pro-abortion political career; demonic — murdering babies for profit and for the sake of enjoying life; millions of children have perished; question one — Why now? Why did the bishop wait?; question 2 — what good is this supposed to do when other bishops and clergy do not restrict her receiving? question 3 — the trend in the Novus Ordo (e.g., JPII) of giving pro-abortionists communion — Why after all this history is there only now a response?; many years of the Novus Ordo looking the other way; The Novus Ordo's changes in the sacraments, making them doubtfully valid; the Novus Ordo's “Mass” never calls itself the sacrifice of our Lord; the definition of the “New Mass” in the general instruction — “gathering together of the people of God under the presidency of the priest to celebrate the memorial of the Lord”; the Novus Ordo's liturgy not the Catholic Mass; Modernist religion will become the one world religion; modernist in chief — Francis; if Pelosi were to truly receive our Lord in her condition, it would be a great sacrilege; those who hold that the Novus Ordo Mass is valid see routinely that the host is handled in a way that would be a sacrilege if it were truly our Lord; How could anyone who believed treat our Lord so profanely? — that is what satanists do; anyone who has the faith should see they can have nothing to do with this; how can those in the Novus Ordo take the sacredness of the Eucharist seriously when Francis shows a different attitude — “don't politicize the Eucharist”?; What does it say about the NO when withholding communion from Pelosi is shocking?; Whoopi Goldberg a popess?; the Novis Order a farce — this has been going on for years and years; waking up to the evil of the Novus Ordo — we must hope and pray for grace that those like Cordileone will recognize it; Pelosi just one person — how many others represent the same stance that she has? The World Health Organization's 75th World Health Assembly; Amendments to the International Health Regulations; will the U.S.A. give up national sovereignty?; Who is the WHO and how did we become part of it?; The League of Nations — U.S.A. opted out, seeing it as a compromise of national sovereignty and treasonous; not so, Joe Biden — his amendments/proposals downloadable from the WHO website; WHO is part of the UN; director of WHO — Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus elected by member states; his function to enforce the main policies of WHO; World Health Assembly functions to decide on policies; executive board composed of 34 members each representing their governments; members “technically qualify” as experts in the medical field; WHO a foreign power; monkeypox vaccine forecasted and appearing on schedule — a new plandemic?; the spiritual perspective — our Lord Jesus who came to save souls vs. the antichrist; the decision — be faithful to God or fall for the devil's promises to recreate humanity; politicians — professionally trained liars; demagogues — no conscience, but mere representation of constituents; statesmen — living up to responsibilities to serve the common good; we need statesmen; we need candidates who state their faith and conscience regardless of the prospects of being elected; pray for the suffering! Father Paul Robinson will join us to look at each aspect of the New Mass, and how it constitutes a gravely insufficient way of adoring the Holy Trinity. We'll be using clips from a couple Novus Ordo Masses to illustrate each section that Father is discussing – and to be as fair as possible, we will mainly be looking at a fairly reverent, common Novus Ordo Mass. It would be easy to find a New Mass with dancers, bands and light shows – but we're trying to illustrate that at its core, the prayers and rubrics of the priest are a striking departure from Catholic theology.
