WATCH VIDEO We have a good time last night discussing a very serious situation. Gotta bring some light into the darkness, right? I want to thank my guests, Brian J. Pombo, Marc Yaffee, and Jerry McClellan. Y'all did well! I appreciate those of you who contribute through the Chat too. Russia and Ukraine have been at war for three years, with significant loss of life on both sides. So far, there has been no serious sign of peace, but President Trump is leading a delegation aimed at achieving that peace. The question is, how much will Ukraine have to give up to come to an agreement, and can the peace last? Has Trump hurt the process by insulting Ukraine President Vladimir Zelensky, or is this just "the art of the deal"? Is Zelensky a dictator, as President Trump has claimed, or is the real dictator Russian President Vladimir Putin? Has it been necessary to keep Zelensky out of the negotiations, or is it strange to sideline the man in charge of the nation that has been attacked? We discussed these questions and much more. One of the things we discussed was a "joke" AI-generated video of "Trump Gaza," which Trump actually shared through his Truth Social account. Oh, boy... More to come on this... This is NOT "Meet the Press." We are not pretending to be experts on foreign policy. We're just four men with different perspectives, who love our country, and seek to bring some understanding to an issue that has been made extremely complicated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ymt3UReCXHE&t=2835s&ab_channel=OldSchoolwithPatrickRooney

It's the end of another year, what's next in your life and business? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxJB7qQa4Io Transcription Question for the new year. Hi, I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. When to show off my new my new Christmas Story mug. For some reason people started buying me Christmas Story stuff, I think it has something to do with the leg lamp. This is interesting mug, it takes up a huge amount of space for the little spinning leg but to get to love it. I get wild stuff like this every year and tonight marks the last night that you're going to see the leg lamp until next year. So we're gonna turn the light off for that if I can reach it. Why you should do everything on camera without any practice. So you go oh, no, the light still on? Okay, got it. So we're off. We're done with 2021. Moving forward to 2022. And I'm happy to go along with you. My question for you is, especially if you're a business owner or an executive, you got to be asking yourself, what's next? What are you going to change this year? What is going to change about you your business where you're going? What's next? That's the big question that you have to ask yourself. And as I put everything away and shut everything down and get ready for the new year, you know, realize it's pretend anyways, it's a made-up number. It's not exactly all winter solstice, it's based in the concept of the winter solstice. Meaning that for the northern hemisphere, we're moving ahead with longer days. So that means that's why we're doing the new year we got the longer days coming winter is slowly on its way out. That's what the New Year means. It's just it's a way to just kind of put a line in the ground and say, We're doing something big next. Now we can leave the past behind and move ahead. Now we've got this every day anyways. But you got to ask yourself, what changes are you going to make? That's going to make this any different than last year. And sit down with friends, family, everybody else and see what you come up with? All you need is one, one major thing and I don't mean New Year's resolution. I mean, just think about on the big scheme of things. What are you going to be doing differently this year? It doesn't have to happen right away, but you really ought to consider this. You ought to consider it every day of your life. Just New Year's gives us a chance to kind of mark that point at which we're going to start changing. Quick idea. Nothing major. Get out there. Don't do anything too dumb and we'll see you next year. See on the other end. Have a good one. Get out there and let the magic happened.

Ever wonder what Brian does? Well, he chats about it in this video. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wi8-CEjfLM Transcription What do you do? Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Today I want to talk about what was a question that I got. And it's one I get often enough that I probably am not clear enough in my social media. It's good to have at least one video that answers this question is within that's a question of basically, what is it that you do. I had a question from Ethan over LinkedIn, as a new contact on LinkedIn, I connect with people, if you'd like to connect on LinkedIn just send me a message on there and let me know that you had seen or heard my podcasts or videos and just that you'd like to connect, and I'd be happy to connect with you. As long as you don't have anything wacky or weird on your page that would that would throw me off or make me think that you're a spammer or anything of that sort. I don't mind connecting with complete strangers. I do it all the time. But Ethan was asking me to tell him a little bit more about my businesses, because I kind of have an eclectic, lineup they're on my LinkedIn profile. I was thinking about this. Okay, how do you go about talking about this in person, I don't have as much of an issue with it because I can usually find out a little bit more about that person and where they're coming from. I either go with a long answer or a short answer. Sometimes on social media, it's a little bit more difficult, especially if you don't know the person as to why they're asking. And so how, how do you go about answering that question. I wanted to kind of come straight at it and kind of give you as broad a view as I can, I could always go into more detail if any of these things interest you. So you can always reach out to my social media, or at my website, BrianJPombo.com. But let's talk a little bit about it. So there are really two types of people that I work with right now, pretty exclusively now that there might be somebody that that fits outside those lines. I've worked with people in politics, I've worked with people in religion, I've worked with people in nonprofit areas but I tend to stick with two types of business owners. The first type of business owners, the person that's an aspiring business owner, or new business owner, someone that's looking to get into business. I can assist them with that I've been in business for over 20 years of in business and some sort I've been in business exclusively for the past. I don't know, what was it coming up on 15 years, I guess now. I have a little bit of experience with it. And just enough to help a person kind of get going, I also know I have a pretty good network of other people that I connect people with. And so what I do is I don't charge anybody, anything, when I work with a new person, I basically make a deal with them, too. If if it looks like I can help, I'll make a deal with them to take a percentage of the profits, once they arrive, if they arrive, and if they don't arrive, then I just waste my time and money with them. But I'm willing to take that chance on most on many of the people I won't say most of the people if you qualify, basically, I'd be willing to spend time and money on you until we're able to get a business up and running. If that never occurs, or if it fizzles out, which can happen quite often, then I've wasted my time and money. So that's no big deal. That's the first type of person I work with someone who's relatively new to the business world, or relatively new to a new type of business, or a new industry that they're not familiar with. I can help walk them through that process if I have the background on it. The second type of person that I work with, or someone who's already successful, they've had a business for a while they're a business owner, or they're at least in the executive end of the business to where ...
How the heck is the Matrix as business movie? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYYW8P8qkrY Transcription Business movie, The Matrix. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Where we discuss a lot of business ideas, we talk about principles, tactics and strategies to help you with your business. I saw this movie years ago in the theate and today's talk is going to be about this movie, but also about what leads me to talk about this movie. So this is an old DVD. This is one of the original DVDs that I owned, I got a DVD player, I believe in around 2000, 2001, probably, that I received my first DVD player and this was one of the first DVDs I got. I was so excited about it. It looked so good if you went from back in those days, you went from VHS cassettes, to DVDs, that was a huge step forward, in the visuals and everything else. It's just amazing what was available, both insight and sound that the DVDs brought to the world. This is my original copy. This is my original copy of the case, the DVD disappeared years ago, I don't know where it went, I held on to the case forever because I was hoping that the DVD would show up. Nowadays, you could watch it through different streaming services. I think HBO is showing it right now because they are also showing the newest Matrix movie Matrix. I believe it's Matrix Revolutions, which I haven't seen yet but I wouldn't be rewatching all of these. Now, how does this apply to business? I'm going to tell you that in a second. But first, I'm going to tell you how I came about this. It's stupid for me to hold on to this. This thing is called the trash all it is a cover. It has no value whatsoever. It brings nothing to my life but it's part of an issue that I've had for a long time, which I refer to myself as a casual hoarder. I don't really hold on to things because I need to hold on to them. I'm not I'm not an over the top hoarder. But I do hang on to things a lot longer than I should. And one of the ideas I came up with years ago, I knew if I could tell the story about the thing that I have, then I can get rid of it. And I won't have to hold on to it anymore. It's kind of a strange deal. I can ever go through the process of making videos or audios about each of these things because it just seemed like it didn't have anything to do with business or anything else. So I'm going to try to find a way for some of these items that I get, tie it back into business and talk to you about it, and then I can toss it away. So this is going to be a sub-series. One of the sub-series that I have is on like business movies, business books, and so forth. So while this is part of the business books sub series, this is also the first of a sub series on casual hoarding. This is, The Matrix. Let me talk about the movie to give you kind of a basis of this, if you haven't seen this movie, or haven't seen it recently, it's worth watching or rewatching. For one of the things, there's a lot if you watch it with somebody younger, you'll notice that a lot of the technology that was pretty high end at the time, and kind of playing off of the growing concept of the internet is very antiquated nowadays. So that's kind of a funny thing too but overall, this is a mythic journey. The hero's journey, from beginning to end, you could tie directly to the story of Jesus Christ or any great hero throughout time, that has a mythic nature to it. That's what you have right here. It's one of those movies you can't, you really need to watch more than once because once you realize where it's going you, you start to see, okay, if I rewatch this, I'm going to get all the clues that they're laying out throughout the entire movie. That's one of those stories, but the hero's journey is really about all of us. It's about any of our journeys. And a person that is building a business, like you or me is they are in the place of the hero,

Importance of keeping movement going. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq1Fxy0Oow4 Transcription Don't stop the momentum. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Today, I'm still coming to you from California, this is our final night here in the Golden State, then heading back to two are the Beaver State of Oregon. It'd be fun to get back home, had a great time visiting friends and family, you have all the stuff that goes along with that. But it's funny how you get out of the groove of things, so to speak and in things kind of that things kind of have a way of getting away from you without you even noticing. I want to talk today because I had one of my first meetings following Christmas was today, the Monday following Christmas, Christmas was on a Saturday this year. And and it's it doesn't feel like Monday because I'm not in those surroundings that I usually am on a Monday. I get on to this meeting and I'm wondering how many people are actually going to show up for it as a number of business owners that are working together, kind of a mastermind type situation. We even had a special guest onboard to be able to talk with us and everything. And so it was, it was really a cool deal. But one of the things that I wasn't quite sure how it was going to end up. In fact, I was still in the process of visiting somebody while I was on the meeting. So it was kind of an odd situation but after I was through it, I saw how many people got involved, which were a lot more than I figured on. It was already after a long period of momentum or slowly building momentum. And it was one of those things where I wasn't sure I really didn't think that we should have held it. I asked everybody whether they would were up for getting back together. And everyone said Yes, sir. Okay, well, I went along with it, but I wasn't quite sure if it was the best thing to do. But now I see I was wrong, it was absolutely the best thing to do. And the worst thing you can do is artificially try to stop momentum, especially if you're dealing with groups of people. It's a, it's an easy thing to get stuck in is you think, well, we need a break. Or there's no reason to no reason to force this or anything of that sort. It's really the wrong attitude to have, you really have to have the attitude of, hey, we're in momentum, we're going to keep going with momentum until momentum naturally Peters off, because it always does. the nature of momentum, it will eventually slow down to artificially get in the way and try and slow it down as if that's going to help anything. I haven't seen it work up until now. I really haven't. Which is weird why I keep trying to do it. You know, I see other people try to do it also. Sorry for the shaky camera work. I'm trying to hold this camera while at the same time I'm used to using a tripod not used to doing this just with my hands. So I just wanted to bring that up and just let you know that the holidays is that it seems like it's such a natural time to slow things down. But things are already moving fast and they're beyond your control anyways, don't artificially get in the way of them, allow them to have their own speed don't get in the way of progress. It's not worth it. Allow things to keep moving and one thing I've done in years past is I have slowed things down and I didn't know I was doing it I didn't know that they could keep going. So I'm happy to be working with some solid people and you know who you are who help hold my feet to the fire and keep things going so if you've got people like that on your team be sure and wish them happy holidays and tell them to keep things moving, keep that momentum rolling there's nothing quite like it. Hopefully, that's helpful I'm I have my book that's still available for free, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business you can get a free copy at AmazonProofBook.com You get that now I don't know how long that's going to be av...
People do some crazy things. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF1YyxZQrEg Transcription The first step to avoiding stupid mistakes in your business. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Today, I want to let you know first back in Grants Pass Oregon. Live tonight, and happy to be back at home. Second thing is, is it's one of those things where I was just looking through the news that I came across this clip and just automatically hit me this idea of what this lady had gone through, she's running out on the tarmac of an airport to catch the plane that left without her okay, this is horribly stupid thing to do. Don't do that. I don't know what the big story or bomb was behind this or what the background was? Or what type of chemicals were running through her system at the time but we've all done stupid things. It just reminded me of just some of these things you think back on in your business? And you're like, what were we thinking when we did that? You know, where were we going? What did we think was going to happen? I mean, that's the real question that always goes through my mind is, what did I think was gonna happen? And the same question I have for partners, people I end up partnering with where we start looking back over what they've done. So what were you hoping to accomplish with that move? Where were you going with that? Most of the time, most of us don't have a good answer for that. We realized that during that period of time, we weren't thinking of the outcome, we were just moving, we were excited about something, or moving in a particular direction, and not really thinking about the big picture. This is very common, and I'll prove it to you the best, the best thing you can do is sit down with either your employees if you're on your own, anybody that you happen to work with. If you're truly on your own, you need to sit down and just be real with yourself and say over this past year as we start. So this is 2021 December, we're looking at the new year coming up here. We're also where you are in the year when you're listening or watching this. Ask yourself over the last 12 months. What have I done that was truly stupid and what was I thinking about at the time when I did it, you have to acknowledge these things, you've got to put them up in your face so that you can learn from them as best you can. That everyone else, especially if you're working in a team environment, everyone else needs to learn from it too. The best way to do this to bring up your issues. Then from there, hopefully other people can bring up theirs in some way or see it secretly see what they've done wrong. So it's a great time for reflection. Any time is a great time for reflection. But especially this time of year, it gives us a little bit of space, a little bit of leeway to do that sort of thing. But you want to step back on a regular basis and look at what you've done. Whether it was a good call or not. How you can prevent bad things from happening in the future or just missteps. I wouldn't say bad things. I don't want to label anything. Because all the bad things all the mistakes lead to good things as we move along in our businesses. So hopefully that's helpful to you. It's a simple, these are simple concepts. These are not you know, it shouldn't explode your brain to think about these types of things. But these little tiny things make a big difference in long term health of your business. I got nine other things that can they can really make a difference in your business. I wrote a whole book about it, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business you can get you can go purchase a copy off of amazon.com or anywhere else you can type it into Google and see all the different places you can find it or you can get a free copy at my website, go to AmazonProofBook.com. China and a fake sun, what next? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_sXcRtmOYw Transcription Fake artificial sun. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. I saw this headline about China, creating something that is seven times hotter than the sun right here on earth so that we can have unlimited free energy. Hey, that sounds exciting hum, but I can't see anything wrong going on there, right? This doesn't sound like a science fiction film come to life? No, not at all. But it is funny how headlines can catch you off guard and can make you think make you look at things a little bit differently. And you could even tie it into something that you're trying to promote. something wacky like this may just be enough to get attention from people to pay attention to go what is he talking about? Now people who are already subscribed or are already following you, it may be just a way to be able to rope them in to hear the next thing you have. I have nothing to talk about. Regarding the fake sun that China is supposedly creating. It's just an interesting grabber it's a way to pull people in. The reason why I pulled it up is that I wanted to show you how you can take something relatively simple these types of things that just pop up in your feed or pop up out there. In fact, I this was just me looking through the news, this wasn't anything special. I saw this I said that's just so quirky, and odd that and one of those things that you didn't necessarily hear about already that I might as well talk about and discuss how you could use it like I am right now, to talk about how you can use it in your videos in your audios in your blogs. Sometimes all it takes is something like that as a grabber to catch attention and but you got to find a way to tie it into what you're talking about here. I'm telling you I have nothing to tie it into, except for the fact that it's a grabber and it's something that you could use. I just wanted to toss that out here today. It's a simple idea. Here on I'm recording this Christmas Eve Eve of 2021 meaning two days before Christmas. I hope you're having a good one wherever you're at whenever you're at watching this or listening to this podcast. So tune back tomorrow, we got another quick tip idea that you could use. You don't want to know. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TidEAOx09EI Transcription dirty diapers are predictable. Hi Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Coming to you today from Northern California visiting is my father's home and visiting family for Christmas. And just want to give you a quick anecdote to kind of brighten your day if at all possible. So I had a situation where we have a long trip from Southern Oregon to Northern California. It's about well, today it took about eight, nine hours. It's only because we had kids major traffic, actually, the kids did really well. I've got three young kids and a wife. And we made it, we were really doing good. We stuck to the just quick breaks and tried to eat as much out of the car as possible. And then we finally got home that we got to Tracy got to our destination. We kind of situation that were the youngest, is still has still doesn't make the toilet every time. You know, he's still in the training mode. And we notice he had not gone number two yet. He's pretty regular about hitting that a couple times a day. It still hadn't happened and we're hitting later in the night. We know what's coming, we know that eventually, there's going to be some dirty business to deal with. And it's just a matter of when. Sure enough, after he'd already gone to bed. And we're all in the same room. We learned pretty quickly that happened and we had to go through the cleanup process. So what's this mean to business and everything else? Well, what it what it means is bad news, whatever you consider bad news, whatever the bad situation. You've got certain things that you know are going to come up in life and in business, you know, it's going to pop up. Don't be surprised when it does. Be ready for it. Be ready for when it happens. If it hasn't happened for a long time. Realize it might just be around the corner. Not that you should, you know, totally expected or try to bring it on. But don't be surprised when it does. That that bad news, whatever it is your life. It's dirty diapers, it's going to show up. It's going to happen. Be ready for it. Don't freak out. So stupid analogy for the day. That's all I got for you. Go check out my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof your business get a free copy of AmazonProofBook.com I'll be back here tomorrow. Brian and the family are off for one last trip to see family for Christmas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_XmvkRQlMk Transcription One last trip of 2021. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. I'm a Business investor. I also work with businesses either as a partner, as an investor, or as a friend, to help them to use principles, strategies, and tactics that are already being used successfully out there and help integrate them into their business. Now I tend to talk about ideas about how you can help make your business better make your life better. Therefore, as a result of that, tonight, though, we're packing everything up so that we can leave early in the morning to try and beat the snow system that is going to be entering Oregon, and possibly blocking our path to reach California. Which we like to go down to a few times a year as long-term watchers and listeners of Brian J. Pombo Live. And so Christmas is one of those times. So we're heading down a day earlier than we thought, we're going to try and get across Interstate five. Before they shut it down before the snow becomes so large that they can't keep it clear. happy holidays everyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5a_fWV8uHQ Transcription Slow business during the holidays. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Business tends to slow down during the holidays, not always depending on what type of business you're in but oftentimes a whole lot of people see a slump that happens during the holiday season. We've been discussing this quite a bit this last month because it can start as early as Halloween for some industries. How do you go about fixing that? Well, we mentioned using the holidays as an excuse to get in touch with people, okay, either via marketing or directly, I don't care if you gotta get on the phone and call them. But depending on the type of business you have you it gives you an excuse to get in touch with them. Not necessarily pitch them something right off the bat. Now maybe you have a pitch along with it on offer, offer something to them. But maybe your business doesn't quite fit that, or you can't find a way to do that. Just connecting with them and reminding them that you exist, makes a really big difference. What's the other thing, the other thing you could be doing right now that most people don't set time aside throughout the year is you can be planning, you could be planning your strategy, planning your attack for the next year. This is a really good time to do it. If you have the time available if you know that you have a slump, so to speak for the holidays, take advantage of it, plan what you're going to do, as soon as things pick up again. You should know from previous years or if this is your first year in business or first year in this industry, then you know, plan on you know, depending on when it stopped, I would think that sometime after the first of the year, you should be ready to go again. If you don't want to start planning then plan now, plan in the in-between times in between your holiday parties and everything. Do everything you can to plan where you're going next. And make time for planning schedule, set up a new schedule for next year, a new personal schedule so that you have a specific time for thinking and planning out the next step in your business. Plan, do check to adjust. We've talked about that previously and that is a major, major thing that you need to have scheduled in your book on your phone. However, you do a schedule, you've got to make sure that that is available and that you are paying enough attention to it. Make sure that you're working with partners, your employees, your vendors, your mentors, anybody that you go to for advice, and if you don't have someone you need someone find some people that you can bounce ideas off of it doesn't mean you have to take it still means you're the boss, it still means you're responsible. But you got to have some people you bounce ideas off of otherwise your business is going stale, I guarantee it. Even if you're pulling out a lot of money, it's going to go stale and it could be doing a whole lot better than it is just by having someone that has some background in your business, not in your specific business and not even necessarily in your industry. But someone with business mindedness that you can bounce ideas off of and hopefully a handful of people like that, that you can talk to on a regular basis a mastermind you plug into anything of that sort you're always welcome to talk with me. Or at least you could reach out and we can see if there's something we can chat about see if there's something I can help you out with go to BrianJPombo.com there's also ways you can get in touch with me that are found right in this book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business, goes through some ideas that you can start working on this as nine separate things that you could be focusing on this next year. Go buy a copy, and if you don't want to buy it because you're stingy. Go and get a free copy at AmazonProofBook.

Value of sentimental moments during the holidays. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuz615kdBew Transcription Sentimentality is evergreen. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Let's talk about sentimentality or some may call it nostalgia. And if you think about it, there's, there's always old ways of doing the same thing. And so I'll give you a great example. It's right now, this is 2021. While I'm recording this, we're in the holiday season. And it's very, very rare to get Christmas cards anymore. With the advent of social media, and really having Facebook have and between Facebook and Instagram, having such a huge reach into most people's lives, the idea of the Christmas card has lost a lot of its flavor, you see that for a lot of us the only time we'd see certain members of our family was in the Christmas card that we got every year. And so you'd say oh my gosh, look how big they are. Oh boy, look how gray that person is, look how much weight they've gained, you know. And, and that's, that was kind of the Christmas card concept. That was what we got piles of them when I was growing up in the last 1015 years. It's dwindled back a bunch and the few Christmas cards that we get, we treasure, we look at it. The last one, we show the whole family. The really good ones make it onto our fridge and we'll sit there all year long. Okay, this is an interesting thing, because it's completely gone away the ability to do it hasn't gone away. The desire for it probably isn't as strong as it once was, otherwise more people would do it. It has nothing to do with marketing or business like we talked about here, normally, but I'm going to tie it back in. So if you went and tried doing that, back then, if you went and put out a Christmas card, and you made it look just like a family Christmas card with your family, you know, I don't care if you have a local based business or if you have an international based business. But if you have the ability to see if you have people's addresses, and you have the ability to send them something, there's nothing better than a Christmas card, because everyone's going to be looking at and going, Okay, who is this? Why are we getting this from these people, you know, and you could have a little message on the back and maybe even a coupon or something. But being able to send something like that out, would have gotten attention, whether it was 30 years ago, or whether it's today. Today, it matters more. Today, if you went and did the exact same thing. And I don't care if you're running a barbershop. Or if you're running a restaurant, or if you're running like I said, an international e-commerce based business, or what have you. If you've got a business that has the ability to gain addresses, you need to start building up personality in your business, you need to have somebody or a group of somebodies that people can start relating with, I talk about all in my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business. I've got a whole chapter on being somebody and then filtering that out through your marketing and how important that is how that makes you stand out. Most companies can't do it, they won't do it. Well, they can do it, any company can do it but most won't. They won't spend the time to do this type of thing. But look at how powerful it could be in something as simple as a Christmas card is one of the most inexpensive things you could possibly send in the mail. If you sent that to all your people with just you and your family and say hey, I'm so and so with such and such. Just wanted to wish you you know, a merry Christmas, happy holidays, happy Hanukkah, what have you. You just put it out there. You just toss it out there for people and say, Hey, appreciate your business in the past year or appreciate your business in the past years, you know, in putting something out there that will stop people,
Thoughts on customer experience from a recent interview Brian saw between Russell Brunson and Dan Kennedy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI2tkJrjpck Transcription Brunson, Kennedy and customer experience. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Yesterday we were talking about the VIP treatment, and how Disneyland has been able to do that for years with their club 33. Very exclusive thing. And I'm going to draw on where Walt may have gotten one of those ideas from in a future episode. But let's continue the concept of VIP treatment, and how to really be able to offer as much as possible to the small group of people involved in your customer base that are willing to pay large amounts of money. Okay. So, this, this harkens back to in fact, it's a principle that Dan Kennedy teaches, which is ironic that Dan Kennedy was recently his while his intellectual property was all under the auspices of a company called magnetic marketing and magnet magnetic marketing was just purchased by Russell Bronson's company Click Funnels. And so Bronson and Kennedy are working together. And directly which is funny because Bronson learned a whole lot of what he got from Kennedy initially. It's a very good match, I would say, and what you're starting to see some really cool stuff that Bronson is starting to put out, starting to take a lot of this material that's been out there for a long time and make it a lot more accessible. So there's already been a gold membership for $97 A month and a, and a diamond membership for, you know, $297 a month. And they, these are amounts of stuff that you get in the mail or access to online. That that gave you a certain amount, then you're getting, you're getting all this material in on a monthly basis to help you with marketing for your business. This is the basic idea of magnetic marketing. Instead of going through the details, you're welcome to go and look into it. It's a great deal. They got a great organization over there. What's really interesting is that they introduced a third level, which has not, there hasn't been anything like this for quite a while and magnetic marking previous to that GKIC and so forth. That organization has not offered this third level. And they just came out with what they call the Insider Circle. And you can find out more the insidercircle.com. I don't get paid or anything from Russell or Dan or anybody. So I'm just showing you kind of an example of somebody offering a higher tier. So you go from $97 a month to $297 a month and the people who really want like, everything that's currently available, or for the most part that's for sale by Dan Kennedy, you can get that boy that looks horrible with my shirt hanging down like this. You can get that the includes what they call the whole enchilada, which is most of everything that's out there for sale by Dan Kennedy search engine that you can find this stuff though. You've got people that can actually support team that will actually help you to implement these ideas and new tools to be able to do that that they've never had before. They're charging $1,000 A month or $10,000 a year for this whole big thing called the insider circle. It just shows you what's possible. What if, what if you can offer everything What if you can offer the moon? And what would be a reasonable price for it? It's something that you ought to think about for your own business. What if you were just after that small bout, I mean honestly, in most businesses it's between the top one to 5% of all your ongoing customers, your regular customers, out of that group of regular customers is about one to 5% that will possibly fit in probably even smaller, they'll possibly even fit that high end that VIP experience. And that and not that they don't have higher things. They have masterminds and so forth available for magnetic marketing, but this was the next rung on the self,

Benefit to giving your customers special treatment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-qdz83cHY8 Transcription Give your customers VIP treatment. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, Welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. I'm a Business investor, and we like to discuss different concepts of business. Being able to help get more customers keep more customers making them as happy as possible. I wanted to talk a little bit about how Disney Land is able has been able to do this and how all the Disney Parks now are. If they don't currently, I believe just about all of them have their own versions of club 33. Now, do you know what club 33 is, if you walk through New Orleans Square in Disneyland, you will use it's not very clear that it's there. But there is a kind of a secret doorway that gets you into club 33 and what club 33 was, was a special place designed by Walt Disney originally, where he could take VIPs. And what it ended up becoming overtime was a VIP club that a person can actually belong to more often it's companies that will pay a large sum to be able to on an annual basis to be able to get into there and then they reserve, they get reservations for meals there. It's a restaurant, high-end restaurant, within the confines of Disneyland. So already people pay a lot to get into Disneyland, right? They pay a lot for the food and everything else there. And then this is a step above that it's a VIP experience. Beyond that, not for everybody I have yet to get into club 33 If you have an if you know of a way of being able to, to eat into club 33, please let me know I love to do it. It's been one of those dream scenarios because it it was a whole there's a whole lot of history too, and a lot of interest on my part of being a Disneyland fanatic. So since then, it's been, it's been popular enough within the right circles, that they've added it to their other parks. The whole, the whole concept is to just have something that's a bit higher up. It actually gives celebrities and other people a chance to hide from the public for a while while they're in the parks. During the hours when the rest of the public is there. And then oftentimes they'll have after hours, that they allow celebrities to walk around the parks with their family. So it's a it's kind of a wild, it's a weird thing to wrap your mind around if you're not in that zone. But if you've worked with anybody of, shall we say a higher status, you'll realize that there's there's opportunities like this in all different places. The question I have for you is, in your business, are you offering VIP opportunity? Are you offering things that a very, very, very small percentage of your clientele or customer base are going to take part in but do you at least have it available? Do you have that next rung on the ladder that most people couldn't even fathom being able to afford? But is there for the people that can say here's the real value of this isn't just to just make that certain person that certain family happier, it's not just about that. It's about giving something for everybody else to aspire to. It's also about having been able to pull in large amounts of money in a very short period of time. And being able to use that to make the entire experience better for everybody. Kind of a tax the rich kind of thing. But it's voluntary, right? So that's kind of the concept behind having always expanding out your product offering or your service offering to where you have the next highest rung and find out what that is finding out what somebody who has the means would want more out of what you're already providing. I don't care if you're doing dog sitting, or whether you have a bowling alley, it doesn't matter. It's the same concept no matter what there's always another higher rung that somebody might be willing to pay for. And you may not get it very often. But when you do that's a big payday.
Is there really a benefit to working with jerks? Brian shares his thoughts on positive to take away from working with people you don't like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muLw85YYsg4 Transcription The main benefit to working with jerks. I am Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Working with jerks. Even the word jerk is kind of a funny thing, because in a very short period of time, relatively short period of time, the word jerk used to mean someone that was stupid. It was used more often than that way kind of, in relationship with a moron, or it'd be the same type of synonym. Nowadays, it means more of a person that's just kind of crude, and mean, mean oftentimes a jerk as a person, that's mean, you know, at least in American English, that's how I hear it used most often. So that's how I'm using it here today I'm talking about the situation when you're working with a jerk. Okay. And there's one huge advantage to working with a jerk. That huge advantage is honesty. Most people aren't honest enough to come out and say, when they don't like something, when they're not happy about something, when, what their true opinion is of something because they're afraid of getting fired, they're afraid of getting of a bad situation occurring, they're afraid of hurting people's feelings, all this other stuff. So a huge advantage of being around jerks is that you get that direct, honest feedback as quickly as possible. So how do you survive working with a jerk is being as direct as you can back to them without tossing offense on it? I think most of the time, it really isn't the fact that someone's being honest, it's the fact that they do it in a crude manner, they oftentimes will have like, a little, a little extra zing in there a little emotional thing in with whatever offense that they're, they're giving or that they're trying to get a reaction out of you. That's really the issue with jerks. But if you can do good at not reacting, and almost ignoring that piece of it, and just taking the good leaving the bad, the old salad bar effect of just leaving the rest there, I think you'll be happy with the results. And you should surround yourself with at least a few of these people. It tends to be the opposite. If you're a business owner, or you're an executive, if you're one of the people in charge, oftentimes we surround ourselves with nice people, we surround ourselves with friendly people. With the proverbial yes men, you know, the people that say yes to everything that you come up with. And don't argue and don't give you at least a contrary point of view, whether they agree with it or not a devil's advocate, so to speak. This is really interesting that I thought about this, I've talked about this before this book, winning through intimidation, one of the best business books you can read in terms of understanding psychology, especially with one on one relationships in business. And even if you're, especially if you're a solopreneur. If you're doing things, a lot of things on your own, but you still need to be able to work with other people. You know, what is the secret of that? And he talks about this in his first chapter, he talks about the different types of people, I thought it was the first chapter, let me see here, I just had my finger on it. And now it's gone. Where did I put it, he talks about the three different types of people what he calls the three, it's a three-person theory, and that there are three different types of people you run into. The first type of person that he refers to, is the person that is really straightforward and honest with you about the fact that they're out for themselves, and that they're looking out for number one, and that they're going to do everything they can to make as much money off of you as possible or get as much value out of your relationship as possible because they're in it for them.
Thoughts on not leaving customer acquisition to random chance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94BXILnU4sw Transcription You don't deserve customers. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. I want to talk about this message here that I got from my friend Joe, Joe had just recently read my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business, you also can read it. Now you can go out and purchase a hardback copy, I'd appreciate if you go to amazon.com or anywhere to get that or you can download a free copy, I'd appreciate that too. I'd love to hear what you think, go get a free downloadable copy of, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business at AmazonProofBook.com. Now let's talk about what Joe was saying. So Joe had his original message said something about, you know, the fact that he enjoyed the book and everything. And we kind of went back and fourth, we're joking a little bit about the writing process, I guess you could say. Then we got into a scenario where he was he said seriously, this is this was good stuff. And he said that. What I want to talk about is what he mentioned here, he said, these are the steps that some people need to take in their businesses, it seems to me that some businesses fail, because the owners, employees, salesman, etc, either lack confidence in themselves, or they're lazy, and just expect the client to magically appear and come to them without any type of working towards them. That's a really interesting point. I think it's very common, it's common among, you know, business owners, and it's common around any executives that run a business is oftentimes we get into the feeling of well, we should just automatically get customers, clients, patients, what have you, they should just come to us, it just should be automatic. It's that whole, and I'm sure you've heard it a million times from Field of Dreams, build it, and they will come. And there's more to it than that and it's a constant. I wouldn't want I want to say battle, it's it should be a constant engagement, though, you should be constantly engaging people to bring them your way to attract them your way to having them come your way without having to beg, borrow, steal, but honestly, leave a path to have a pathway that's easy for them to come towards you. Not necessarily too easy, but at the same and easy in the sense that, that there's it's clear what it takes to be able to work with you to get your services or your products. Having that is very, very important. Often we get into this mindset that I deserve it, that I've already had this over here, I'm already offering this great service, this great product, they, you know, word of mouth should just automatically bring everyone to me. In some cases, you'll get a lot of that. One of the worst situations that's something that I dealt with early on in my business was that I had a lot of people come to me via referral early on. And when you have that, you get into a place of feeling at ease. That's like, Oh, no problem, I'll just keep duplicating. I'll keep making people happy and then they'll refer people who they know over to me. It just doesn't usually work that way unless you're fully implementing it and you have a system to be able to develop that over and over and over again. That shouldn't be the only way that you get people. You can't expect something that came easy to always be easy. I have, I had another one specific client, who always had a difficult time breaking out of the Yellow Page mentality. So when he first opened his business, which is now you're talking 40 years back, when he first opened his business, he put the kind of you know, it's that whole idea of hanging your shingle out there, they used to say, you know, you hang your sign out there, and you open the doors and you got people you got some people you know who you, obviously you're able to bring them in, and then you put an ad in the Yellow Pages.

Art of using controversy to get attention in your business. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-uVnjYrBpE Transcription Christmas controversy for your business. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Let's talk a little bit about Christmas and Christmas controversies. And not just Christmas and any holiday that you're celebrating right now we're really honest, I mean, this could be any time of the year that we're talking about. But since I'm recording this in December of 2021 it applies to right now, so that there's a huge benefit when it comes to business and controversy. And this goes way back, and you can, it doesn't take a whole lot to be able to see it. But you can see that people who are controversial and businesses that put out controversial stuff, get attention. And you could see it in politics, when they when anybody involved in a business takes a political stand, or the business itself takes a political stand. You say, Well, they're turning off a huge portion of their audience. Yeah, but they're also turning on the portion that they're representing, you know, doesn't matter which direction they go, and you may not be happy with the direction that they're going. But someone else is very happy, and they're going to give more business to them. These are oftentimes very thought-out processes for the business itself. I hope this doesn't distract you. This is just fun to get attention but controversy is very useful in business because it while it drives while at the same rate that it drives people away, oftentimes it will have a great even greater rate of driving people towards you have magnetizing a certain crowd toward you. Something like Christmas, you can use to your benefit, because it's a way to step into controversy without taking a political stand. And without taking something that is taken too seriously by most people. For example, I'll give you a perfect example, Christmas trees. Everyone's got an issue with Christmas trees one way or the other. And I am kind of a pariah in my family and most of my family. Because I have and have had for a number of years. A fake Christmas tree. That's right, I have a fake Christmas tree that we use that I put together every year that I don't know we bought at Costco or something or Walmart. And I got to put the whole thing together every year. But I'll tell you what I spent years of my childhood over and over and over again, dealing with real trees that I'm I'm over the real tree thing. And I've got I can list out why and why I'll go with a fake tree every time and how I wasn't raised that way and how I still appreciate real trees, it's just I don't want to take care of them, I don't want to have to go through the trouble. I don't want to have to cut it down, I don't want to have to go pick it up off a lot. I don't want to have to pay for it every year, I don't want to have to move it and figure out how to get it there. I don't like dealing with all the extra needles and down you get plastic needles fallen off of a plastic tray. But that's another story. I don't want to have to deal with that all that stuff over and over and over again, watering the darn thing all that I'm over it. It's a symbol of something and some people acknowledge the symbolism or they don't acknowledge the symbolism. And so it's, it's really a thing that we do just because it's a thing that we do. So that's why I go with the fig tree. Now that's a controversial topic. And you go in a whole bunch of different directions with different controversies. But that's one of them. If I went and took that stand, and I made a really, really outrageous pitch. Now, my business has nothing to do with Christmas or Christmas trees or anything else. But just by bringing it up, I guarantee you, I will get people down below, taking a stand for and against me. Wherever you're watching or listening to this, I'll get people commenting.

Brian talks about an attention grabbing ad he saw for Nehi Soda. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaWhr3WYoH8 Transcription A Christmas ad challenge. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Let's talk about Christmas advertising, shall we? And I'm not just Christmas, but anything this time of year, any type of holiday-based thing. Obviously, Christmas is the big behemoth that you it's tough to ignore, depending on your audience, depending on what it is that you're selling. But in general, Christmas tends to be the main one. So I'm going by that. One thing when it comes to advertising, is you want to have something outrageous and crazy. So much of what we have, in terms of tradition, is some commercialized-based thing. I mean, Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer was a commercial for originally the original poem and the song and everything. This was a commercial for Montgomery Ward. Okay. So many of the songs we sang, were commissioned by companies to, to get advertising for themselves, that the labor lamp I have, not only was it for a movie, okay? It's a prop in a movie, the prop was based on a commercial for Nehi. The Nehi logo for Nehi soda. Thing after thing after thing you can see out there all the Christmas memes out there on the internet. A whole lot of them originate from companies trying to get attention. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's already there. You can't de commercialized Christmas, really, and still have it be the Christmas that most of us understand and know right now, I mean, you could, but it would be a different thing. It would not be what we currently what most Americans, I would say consider Christmas if you removed all of those pieces. So you can completely ignore Christmas, you can. But you got to realize that most people, the holidays are on their mind. And if you're going to enter the conversation in your customer's mind, which is the quickest way to be able to get to know them, to get your message out to them. Then you have to acknowledge when holidays exist, regardless of what time of year it is, there's always some type of holiday present. If there isn't, you can point to other holidays that most people don't know exist and get the attention that way. But we've discussed that previously, many times before the challenge of the Christmas ad is to do something that's remarkable. That's worth remarking over, that's worth talking about that people will pass on to other people. If you can do that, if you can have any form of advertisement that acknowledges what's going on, and is something that people are going to pay attention to. Now you got something if you have something that can be gifted, now you got something, you just have to think about what is this person thinking about? What is your ideal customer thinking about right now? Chances are, it's not your product or service. Brian talks about creative ideas from a book called, Stick It. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoaQr52Gv3c Transcription Another book idea for your business. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Today I wanted to talk about this book, but not in the form of a book review or anything of that sort. So this one came out in 2012. It's called, Stick It, 99 Do It Yourself duct tape projects. Okay, 99 different side projects that you could use for duct tape, things that duct tape was never meant to be used for and I'm going to tie this into your business. Okay. How I'm going to be able to do that is basically taking strategies that are someone else's used even though I don't think she she she wrote this book. So written by a TL bona do I don't think she wrote this book to sell duct tape. But you might as well have if you were a duct tape if you were a person that produces manufacturer sells duct tape, would you not want to sell this book? Also, would you not want this book out there? It's giving people 99 Other things to do with duct tape, other than 1000, wet things that we already knew know what to do with duct tape because it'll stick to anything yet. We all know duct tape. The interesting thing is, is that anybody can use this method. So all these are, this is not I like like I said, it's not a book review. But you can see that it's just page after page of projects, most of them. I mean, just from my parents look completely useless. I have no idea why you would want to do most of this stuff. It's more projects for kids and people that are just bored. It's, it did fall, I actually went and got this book, I think it was because it was on sale. It was on sale at like Dollar Store or Walmart or something. And I said, Oh, my kids love that. So I got it. Then closer look, I mean, they have an entire chapter on making necklaces out of duct tape. They have an entire chapter on wallets, and bags, and purses. That's an entire chapter that does not have multiple ways of making bags and purses out of duct tape. So this stuff, you might be interested, you go get a copy of this book, but it's one of those things where anybody could have written this book, right? If you've been on Pinterest, if you've used Google at any time, you can go out and find these lists of different ways of using something like duct tape. You can go out and find all the lists on duct tape projects. You go on and on and on, for probably years, just researching duct tape projects. This is how immense the Internet has become. And none of them are, I highly doubt any of them are copywritten or anything, you could take these ideas, make them your own and write a book. But that's only if you're looking to sell duct tape. If you're selling dog food, if someone does not have a book out there of other uses for dog food, I'm just making that up out of thin air dog foods, the one I always like to use for just random reasons. But there's got to be something, there's got to be a way there's got to be I'm sure people use dog food for other things. So put out a book on it. That it's just a way to get attention to draw attention, maybe even get yourself into certain forms of media that you wouldn't normally get free media PR and so forth. This is the interesting thing about books, there's they have so many uses. This is just one of those when I saw it, I said that's interesting. Because anybody can take the same idea and come up with wacky things they don't all have to be your ideas. In fact, you give credit to other people for crying out loud. Just write a book and give credit to everybody that came up with this stuff put links to their websites, most of the book that I have, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business is a whole lot of credit to all the people that taught me everything I know and giving credit back to their books and everything else so that you can go and look further. ...
What the heck is going on with a company firing 900 people over a zoom call? Brian's thoughts on communication or the lack thereof. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dOPQULS8nI Transcription Mass zoom firing, the real problem. Hi I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. How would you like to be this poor son of a gun, this CEO of better.com. And he fired 900 people in a very unusual way. He got them all on zoom at the same time, and just did it in one fell swoop. Now, anybody who's a business owner or executive, I mean, I know everybody felt sorry for the people that got fired. Honestly, I've always lost my largest clients or got fired from positions. I don't think I ever got let go from anything, that wasn't right before Christmas. I mean, it always happens that way. It's always right before or right near the holidays, and it just seems to be a common time. I don't really know why that is but that doesn't surprise me. The fact that they lost their job. That doesn't surprise me most of the interviews, I saw people who had been through these types of things before, it was just a very awkward, strange way of doing it. Okay, getting them all together. It's kind of like get them all together in one room, even though it's virtual, and doing all at once. I mean, why not? Why not just send them an email? Why does it have to be live like that? And the way he did it, I'll tell you what the real problem here is the way that he did it, the way he went about doing it. It's a real problem. If you're going to do it that way, you don't try and show it from the company perspective, which is what he did. What he did is he went on to explain how the company was being acquired and all this other stuff. And how this is, you know, a net, he said, unfortunate, but you know it's not that we have to do he did it in a very nonemotional. I heard someone use the term dispassionate, which I mean, it's how it should be to an extent. But it's not the way that you should deliver it, you shouldn't deliver it on something that's being recorded. Something that it is to that many people all at once, if you're going to then it needs to be choreographed a little better. You got to think about who your audience is, who are you actually talking to, what are you actually saying to them? Maybe contemplate, you know, maybe Is there any way we could have done this either earlier, or in a slower progression or something is there any other way to be able to let these people go rather than clean-cut, showing, showing little compassion whatsoever? It that's, that's difficult. That's a difficult play. In business, you know, if you're an executive, if you're a business owner, you understand this concept. And you know that these difficult things have to happen from time to time, but there's a way to do it. There's a way not to do it. What this gentleman did was the way not to do it. This is why it became this widespread thing, really, because the amount of people that fly all at once, and it was recorded, if it hadn't been recorded, it would have had a little less staying to the media, except everyone could go and watch him do it over and over again, and mock him for it. Of course, the news came out today that he's taking time off, which is pretty easy to do. When you come through, when your company's been acquired. You've done some of the tough work. I mean, everyone takes time off for the holidays. So I understand that, of course, they're going to bring in, you know, the counselors and everything else to help train the management better, which I don't know how well that's going to help if you can't hear yourself, if you can't see yourself from your employees perspective, you aren't communicating with them often enough, you do not understand where they're coming from. And you don't know where the world is. If you don't realize that every little recording every piece of ...

What to do when it's hard to get in touch with people during the holidays. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsjVkvfjnRk Transcription Voicemail Hell during the holidays. Hi, I'm Brian Pombo, welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Let's talk about voicemail hell, of what is voicemail? Hell, well, I am talking about trying to reach people during the holiday season. It's really, really tough people tend to turn off, sometime after Thanksgiving before New Years a huge portion of the population, even in their business, they turn off. You can't find them, you can't track them down. Here's my recommendation on how to go about handling that. The best way to handle that is just to realize it's the truth and don't get frustrated with it, you're going to have to talk probably call more people, you're going to have to talk to more people to get in touch with someone that can actually help you move ahead and business. Whatever you're trying to get accomplished. You just have to double up because you can't do anything about that. I know I'm in and out, as I talked about before the brain fog that happens during the holidays is heavy. You just have to be patient, work your way through it. Keep going and realize that it's a factor, but it's a temporary factor. It's a temporary factor that will come to an end sometime after New Years, people start waking up and then that's when all the great explosions happen. All of my best business explosions happened during very specific times of the year. And one of the times it's right after New Year's, that's when people start saying yeah, yeah, yeah, let's talk, let's talk What's that they got no more excuses, really, people. People get this far. They're like, just get me after the first sometime, you know, it's a reality. You just have to deal with it. When you do get someone on the phone, though, just say, Hey, thanks for your time. I know we're in the middle of the holidays and everything. Sometimes you got to give them an out. If you think that if it starts to feel like they're not tracking with you say, Hey, how about I give you a call after the season sometime in early January. We'll touch base on this, I just wanted to just want to call on wish you happy holidays and hope you have a good one. And then just leave it, set it up for later set up meetings for later. If you're getting voicemail, come up with a clever message to leave forum that's easygoing and nice. But just a way to touch base with people. Sometimes it's just all you need to do is just touch base. Just toss it out there and say hi. And leave the rest behind. Don't worry about it. This is just how it happens. It's just a little pep talk not just for you, but for me. So I had to kind of say it, I have to hear it from myself so that I can keep going and keep. If you're not making phone calls during this time of year, it's a good thing to do. It's a good way to get in touch with people. Yeah, a lot of people still send holiday cards and Christmas cards and all the rest. And you can do that. But having that personal touch that you actually took time to do makes a big difference, especially if they're those people, either business-wise or otherwise, that you just haven't talked to in a really long time. This is a perfect excuse to contact them say hey, just saying hi and Merry Christmas and all that jazz. So hopefully that helps. It's just a simple idea for tonight. Go check out my book, 9 Ways to Amazon-Proof Your Business. You can get a free copy for at least for now over at AmazonProofBook.com. That's all I've got for tonight, you have a good one. Continue your fabulous holiday season and we'll see you tomorrow night. In the meantime, get out there and let the magic happen.
left to right: Kate Pombo, Allie Pombo, Tyler Pombo, Brian Pombo, Lucas Pombo Why “Grants Pass VIP Podcast?” What's it all mean? Grants Pass resident and podcast host Brian J. Pombo introduces himself explains the story behind this new show. Transcription Hi, I'd like to welcome you to Grants Pass VIP, I'm Brian Pombo. So what is Grants Pass VIP? Well, it's a chance for us to get to know each other. So everybody in Josephine County, and Grants Pass and even a lot of people on the outskirts or people that just have something to do with Grants Pass and the culture around here. I want them to be able to be on the show so that we can all get to know each other. I've never really been able to get out and network enough. And I just feel that there's a need for this type of thing where a person could network without leaving their house, especially now this is 2020. While I'm recording this, we're still dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic and a lot of people are held up so why not have a way where we can get out and talk to each other and learn about each other and be able to do it in a passive way. There's a lot of reasons for this. One, I know that the more people that you know, the better off you are just in general, it opens up doors, it allows for a certain amount of security. It allows you to be able to stand out and be able to go out and reach somebody to get the help you need. Let's see you here's somebody on the show that provides a service that you can really use when you feel like you already know them because you've heard a conversation that we had on the show. So this is really all about conversations. It's about breaking down barriers, and getting to know each other. And I think that'll make us all a whole lot safer too, because it reduces the divisiveness that I've seen kind of crop up in politics and everything else around the community. And most of it comes from people just not knowing each other very well. The people that know each other even when they disagree about things. They usually get along. They can least handle each other on a one on one human basis. Right. So Grants Pass is a beautiful area. I chose it specifically to raise my family here. I feel very blessed to be here and I look forward to meeting so many of you out there and hopefully we could make this into something really fabulous.
