Rampant inflation is making it harder for Americans to put food on the table and is one of the main drivers of the political dissatisfaction that led to Donald Trump's reelection. Yet, many economists remain bemused by the average worker's concern over rising prices. This is because many ivory tower academics are narrowly focused on their areas of study and have lost touch with the concerns of ordinary people. Matt Kibbe sits down with Lydia Mashburn Newman, managing director of monetary economics at the American Institute for Economic Research. to discuss how the Federal Reserve, coupled with reckless government spending, is the main contributor to inflation, and the need for someone like Ron Paul to go in and clean house.
John is joined by Pete Wehner—veteran of the Reagan, Bush 41, and Bush 43 administrations turned eloquent Never Trumper—to discuss the once and future president's transformation of the GOP, his perplexing appeal to the Christian Right, and more. Wehner explains why the best summation of Trump's agenda comes from Michel Caine as Alfred in The Dark Knight (“Some men just want to watch the world burn”); Pete Hegseth's redemption narrative and invocations of his Lord and savior ring so hollow; and so many Evangelicals are so devoted to Trump in spite of his lack of godly virtues. Wehner and John also harken back to the magical duet of Tracy Chapman's Fast Car by Chapman and Luke Combs at this year's Grammy's, and riff on why the emotional outpouring it triggered was a hopeful sign for our politics and culture. Boston Massachusetts, Suspicious Death of her Father. Was It Murder? The Boston we know today is in many ways different from the Boston of the 1970s. Organized Crime was Rampant in Boston, Massachusetts and the surrounding areas. There were prominent Italian Mob Organized Crime Gangs. Also Irish Organized Crime groups flourished and prospered. There were many accusations and subsequent arrests and convictions in local and state police during that time. There were also FBI Agents arrested and convicted for crimes while working with organized crime group informants. Ann tells the story and more as a guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show, which is available as a free podcast on their website on platforms like Apple, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. Ann Flynn Dickinson is our guest and tells the tale from her childhood all the way to her adult years of the mystery surrounding the death of her Father Owen Flynn. Check out the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsbreak, Medium and most all social media platforms. Boston is a city with a storied history of resilience and rebellion and is no stranger to mysteries. From its cobblestone streets to its glittering skyline, the city holds secrets, and some stories never fade. One such enigma dates back to December 1972, when Owen Flynn, a West End bartender, vanished under suspicious circumstances. His case intertwines with the city's dark era of organized crime and has sparked renewed interest thanks to his determined daughter, Ann Flynn Dickinson. Look for more on the story in platforms like Medium and Newsbreak. A City Steeped in Organized Crime The Boston of the 1970s was a hotbed for organized crime. Italian mobsters and Irish gangs like the Winter Hill Gang ruled the streets, and corruption infiltrated law enforcement, even touching the FBI. This tumultuous backdrop framed Flynn's mysterious death, which some suspect was no accident. Boston Massachusetts, Suspicious Death of her Father. Was It Murder? The interview with here is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show, which is available as a free podcast on their website on platforms like Apple, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. Flynn disappeared on a frigid December evening, leaving his car abandoned on the Granite Avenue Bridge. Though initially presumed a suicide, the details raised eyebrows. The low elevation of the bridge and icy patches on the Neponset River made such a scenario improbable. The lack of evidence or a clear motive for suicide only deepened the mystery. A Daughter's Quest for Answers Ann Flynn Dickinson was just a child when her father went missing. Now an adult, she is determined to uncover the truth. "I knew something was wrong when my mother said he didn't come home," she recalls. Her father's death certificate listed the cause as "unknown," a frustratingly vague conclusion. Keep informed by following the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, MeWe, Pinterest, Newsbreak, Medium and other social media platforms. In 1972, Flynn had just purchased a new car and a home, suggesting he had reasons to live. He was also a silent partner in a new bar, Downey and Judge, in Boston's West End. But borrowing $10,000, likely from dangerous sources, may have placed him in peril. Boston Massachusetts, Suspicious Death of her Father. Organized Crime's Shadow The timing of Flynn's disappearance coincided with a bloody gang war between James "Whitey" Bulger's Winter Hill Gang and the Mullen Gang. Bulger, who later became one of America's most notorious gangsters, was known for his brutal methods. Could Flynn have been a victim of gang violence? The interview is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show, which is available as a free podcast on their website on platforms like Apple, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. In her pursuit of the truth, Dickinson even wrote to Bulger while he was imprisoned. Surprisingly, he replied. While Bulger denied involvement, his letter hinted at other possibilities, including betrayal by business partners or mistaken identity. His chilling tone left more questions than answers. The Granite Avenue Bridge Discovery The most haunting piece of the puzzle remains Flynn's abandoned car on the Granite Avenue Bridge. Dickinson herself identified it while being driven to her aunt's home. The car, locked with the keys on the dashboard, was never thoroughly investigated. Police dismissed it as a "casual search," neglecting to dust for fingerprints or search for evidence. Boston Massachusetts, Suspicious Death of her Father. Platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify make these stories more accessible, allowing listeners to become informed and vigilant. A month later, Flynn's body washed up on Carson Beach in South Boston. Officially, he was presumed drowned, but law enforcement and family members questioned this conclusion. Quincy Police Lt. Bob Gillan, a seasoned diver, dismissed the notion of suicide, stating, "It doesn't pass the sniff test." Echoes of Boston's Gangland Era Flynn's story resurfaced during Bulger's high-profile trial in 2013. Families of other victims approached law enforcement, wondering if their loved ones had also fallen prey to Bulger's gang. Flynn's case fit a pattern, abandoned vehicles, missing persons, and unsolved murders. Be sure to follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsbreak, Medium and most all social media platforms. Bulger's letter to Dickinson acknowledged the brutal realities of gangland Boston, suggesting Flynn's death might have been orchestrated for insurance money or due to business disputes. Yet, he maintained his innocence regarding Flynn's demise. The Legacy of a Mystery Decades later, Flynn's death continues to captivate true crime enthusiasts and historians. His daughter's persistence has kept the story alive, highlighting the murky intersection of organized crime, corruption, and loss in 1970s Boston. Boston Massachusetts, Suspicious Death. The case has gained attention through books like Code Black by Bill Fleming and Joe Peters and podcasts on platforms like Spotify and Apple. Social media outlets like Facebook and Instagram also amplify the story, bringing it to a new generation. A City's Unanswered Questions Boston's history is riddled with tales of intrigue, but few are as personal as Owen Flynn's. His death is more than a cold case; it's a reflection of a city grappling with its identity during a turbulent time. For Ann Flynn Dickinson, the quest for answers remains a deeply personal journey. Boston Massachusetts, Suspicious Death of her Father. Was It Murder? As Boston moves forward, the shadows of its past linger. Was Flynn's death a tragic accident, a calculated murder, or something in between? The truth remains elusive, but the story of Owen Flynn ensures the question will not be forgotten. Haiti faces a myriad of complex challenges that threaten the well-being of its people and hinder the nation's development. Here's a comprehensive summary of some of the most pressing issues:Political Instability: Haiti has a long history of political instability, characterized by frequent changes in government, corruption, and weak institutions. Political unrest often leads to protests, violence, and economic disruption, further exacerbating the country's challenges.Economic Crisis: Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere, with a significant portion of its population living below the poverty line. High unemployment rates, low wages, and limited access to basic services contribute to widespread poverty and economic vulnerability.Natural Disasters: Haiti is prone to natural disasters, including hurricanes, earthquakes, and flooding. The country's vulnerability to these events is compounded by factors such as deforestation, inadequate infrastructure, and poor urban planning, leading to significant humanitarian crises and loss of life.Environmental Degradation: Deforestation, soil erosion, and environmental degradation are serious problems in Haiti. Rampant deforestation, driven by charcoal production and agricultural expansion, has depleted the country's natural resources, leading to soil erosion, loss of biodiversity, and increased vulnerability to natural disasters.Healthcare Challenges: Haiti's healthcare system is underfunded and poorly equipped to meet the needs of its population. Limited access to healthcare facilities, medical supplies, and trained personnel contributes to high rates of preventable diseases, maternal and infant mortality, and poor health outcomes.Education: Access to quality education is limited in Haiti, particularly in rural areas where schools are often poorly resourced and understaffed. High dropout rates, low literacy levels, and inadequate infrastructure hinder the country's human capital development and economic growth.Crime and Violence: Haiti struggles with high levels of crime and violence, including gang-related activities, drug trafficking, and interpersonal violence. Weak law enforcement, corruption, and socioeconomic inequality contribute to the perpetuation of criminal activities and undermine public safety.Humanitarian Crises: The combination of political instability, economic hardship, natural disasters, and social challenges has led to recurring humanitarian crises in Haiti. These crises often result in displacement, food insecurity, and inadequate access to clean water, shelter, and healthcare services. In this episode take a trip down to Haiti to get an inside look at the countries descent into chaos as all hell has now broken loose, with thousands of inmates pouring out into a community that has already been shredded by wanton violence as all semblance of law and order has now broken down.(commercial at 9:51)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Gangs rule Haiti's capital. A new front has opened in the culture wars: meteorology. Rampant disinformation spread across the Southeast after Hurricanes Helene and Milton left thousands in need of disaster relief. While some conservative lawmakers have been trying to manage the devastation, others including Donald Trump have platformed dangerous conspiracy theories. What does the GOP's relationship with disinformation mean for the party's future, and where does it go after Trump?Nebraska is one of two states that does not use a winner-take-all system for its electoral votes. That means the blue dot of Omaha, Nebraska could conceivably swing a close presidential election. Does this reveal the weirdness of the Electoral College overall? In a system designed to protect the minority from the majority, is the reverse now true? Can journalism save a marriage? Journalist Brian Reed is the host of KCRW's new podcast Question Everything, which turns the critical lens on his own profession. Reed tells the Left, Right, and Center team a story of an Orange County couple that almost lost a decades-long marriage over where they get their news before finding an outlet they could both agree on. So how do journalism and politics tie into our personal relationships?
Philip Anthony Mitchell is back for Part Two of his conversation with the Perrys, talking about problems with the American church. We're seeing a drift from Orthodox Christianity and a growing dishonor for Jesus. Rampant idolatry, insensitivity to sin, leaders who are living in open rebellion to God, people clapping in rooms as they're listening to false doctrines. People don't want to be taught... they wanted to be entertained. And because of all of that, people are increasingly Biblically illiterate. Rampant abuse and 'mafia' style intimidations: these are the conditions thousands of women working in one of India's film industries allegedly faced for years. Following a damning report into Kerala's Malayalam-language movie scene, BBC India reporter Sumedha Pal has been talking to actors, directors and producers to understand what's going on, and how the MeToo movement has changed the working environment for women in the wider Indian film industry. Produced by Alice Gioia and Caroline Ferguson. (Photo: Faranak Amidi. Credit: Tricia Yourkevich.)

This week on Ring of Fire! Donald Trump had a major meltdown early Sunday morning about mail-in voting. He immediately got on Truth Social to complain about the US Mail service admitting that they are running way behind on getting mail-in ballots delivered, which Trump immediately claimed was election interference. The irony is that HE created this mess four years ago on purpose, and he seems to have forgotten about that. Rudy Giuliani got blasted by a federal judge in New Hampshire on Monday when the judge dismissed Giuliani's defamation lawsuit against President Biden. Giuliani was suing the president for claiming that Giuliani was pushing out talking points from Russia last year, and he sued in New Hampshire because he thought it would be a friendlier jurisdiction. The judge saw right through it, and said in the ruling that Giuliani “utterly failed” to prove that the case should take place in that state. The “affidavit” from an alleged ABC staffer has been released, and it is filled with problems related to its credibility. But while the media and politicians attempt to determine what's real and what isn't, they are all missing the biggest point: The conspiracy theory itself makes no sense. ABC stood to gain absolutely nothing, but potentially lose millions, by helping Kamala Harris. All that, and more, on this week's Ring of Fire podcast!
UNEMPLOYMENT RAMPANT FOR THE FACTORY FLOOR AND THE PROFESSIONAL OFFICE: 4/8: Chaos Under Heaven: Trump, Xi, and the Battle for the Twenty-First Century by Josh Rogin (Author) https://www.amazon.com/Chaos-Under-Heaven-Twenty-First-Century/dp/0358393248 By the time the COVID-19 pandemic erupted in Wuhan, Trump's love-hate relationship with Xi had sparked a trade war, while Xi's aggression had pushed the world to the brink of a new Cold War. But their quarrel had also forced a long-overdue reckoning within the United States over China's audacious foreign-influence operations, horrific human rights abuses, and creeping digital despotism. Ironically, this awakening was one of the biggest foreign-policy victories of Trump's fractious term in office. Filled with shocking revelations drawn from Josh Rogin's unparalleled access to top U.S. officials from the White House and deep within the country's foreign policy machine, Chaos Under Heaven reveals an administration at war with itself during perhaps our most urgent hour. 1968 RED GUARDS
