So, uh, yeah, we'll see how it goes. Um, yeah, so this week we are talking about a feedback week. So, um, in FFCC we do feedback week once or twice a year, and it is a way for FFCC members to, um, give us some feedback and tell us how we are doing. And, um, you know, we'd like to hear the feedback because we want to improve the FFCC experience. We wanna know your thoughts and how you feel, um, about your progress or how FFCC is going in general. And then of course, we give you feedback as well. Um, I'm sure you know, everybody who is studying a language wants to know, Hey, am I improving? I don't know if I'm improving. Most people say, I don't think I'm improving. Um, but I think us teachers see the improvement that, um, English learners are making. Wouldn't you agree, Karyn?(continues...)Support the show

Now, um, as you probably know, of course, you know, coaching can really have a huge impact on the way that you advance in your work, in your life, in your relationships, your goals, all of that. But grammar, it's important, so we of course want to talk a little bit about it. Today we're getting into some of the top five common grammar mistakes, I would say by our very scientific method of choosing them. We were sitting down before this podcast and saying, "What are the mistakes that we hear the most often with our students?" And so we're going to talk about those today. You want to start off, Matthew? What's the first one you would point out?Matthew:Well, I think even maybe before we start is I think as an exercise ... Because this list could be different for everybody, as you said. We just put this list up. If you are taking lessons or studying English, you should be able to notice either yourself, or your instructor can point out, "Hey, you keep making this mistake, this mistake, this mistake." And creating a list of three or five things that you're always making the same mistake is a good way to really improve your English.(Continues...)Support the show

And today it's about essential business practices in English. And I guess, Kristina, what would be maybe the first, I guess, essential business practice that you would like to share with us?Kristina:Well, there's a lot. There's a whole lot which we always talk about in FFCC. But one that I can think of is when you're writing an email. At the end, so many times, maybe in different languages, it's like, "Oh, I wait for your response." But in English, the best thing to say is, "I look forward to your response," "I look forward to hearing from you," "I look forward to meeting with you." Any of that is all fine.Christina:Right, yeah. Just, "I look forward to..." whatever is coming in the future instead of like, "I wait for..." Which, I don't know, it almost sounds kind of menacing, like the person is sitting at their email box, saying, "Respond, respond, respond. Why haven't you responded to me?"Kristina:"I'm waiting for you!"(continues...)Support the show

Christina here with the Faster Fluency Conversation Club podcast. I hope you're having a lovely month of June. And trying to stay cool despite the massive heat wave that seems to be going on all over the world. Climate change, I suppose. Yay. Anyway, Matthew, how are you doing there, over there in Thailand? How's the weather first of all?Matthew:Well, yeah, it's funny you say that because now the rest of the world is catching up to here and maybe even surpassing here because in Thailand it's always 32, 33 degrees Celsius.Christina:Yay.Matthew:And I've been speaking with, of course, a lot of people in France, but from around the world. And they're like, "Oh, yeah. It's getting closer to 40. Or in the US 90 or 100 degrees." I'm like, "All right, your turn to deal with it."Christina:Your turn to deal with. Ugh.Matthew:I'm staying the same.Christina:You're like, "No, we're used to it." No, it's awful. Anyway. No, I hate the hot weather. But anyway, that's the topic for another podcast. Today, we're doing a review of the topics for the month of June, which was all about making small talk about TV shows, series and things like that. And just going back into the month of June. I think we started off talking about tips.Matthew:The best series for learning....Support the show

Listen to the podcast and see how much you can understand. Is it 50%? 70%? The percentage doesn't matter. Just make a note of it. 2. Try to summarize the conversation. You can think about it, say it out loud, or write it down.3. Read the transcript. Do you understand more now that you can read the words? How accurate was your summary? 4. Listen and follow the transcript, so you can hear the difference between how English is pronounced vs. how it is written5. Note any words or expressions that you did not understand. Add these to your vocabulary list in your English notebook and make flashcards so that you can study them and grow your vocabulary. 6. Write down any questions you have about the new words or expressions so that you can ask about them during FFCC. 7. Go back and listen again. How much do you understand now? 8. Repeat this process as much as you'd like. 9.
