Épisode 5/5 : Les agriculteurs entre deux eauxAvec le réchauffement climatique, les guerres de l'eau se généralisent partout dans le monde, comme en France. Comment répartir ce bien commun vital entre citoyens, industries, agriculture sans détruire la biodiversité ni créer d'inégalités ? C'est sur cette question qu'un territoire se déchire : le Marais Poitevin.Camille Kauffmann s'est rendue dans ce parc naturel, deuxième zone humide de France surnommée la “Venise Verte”. On est juste au-dessus de la Rochelle, à 200 km au nord de Bordeaux. Ici, le monde agricole est divisé sur la gestion de l'or bleu. Car le Marais s'assèche sous l'effet conjugué de l'agriculture intensive et du réchauffement climatique.Pour pallier le manque d'eau en été et sécuriser leurs cultures, des agriculteurs proposent dès 2011 de construire des réserves d'eau pour irriguer leurs champs. L'idée : pomper dans les nappes phréatiques l'hiver, stocker l'eau dans des réserves à ciel ouvert et l'utiliser en été.Pour les militants écologistes et certains agriculteurs, ces réserves d'eau fragilisent le marais et réduisent la disponibilité de l'eau. Aujourd'hui la première des 16 réserves d'eau est construite et les manifestations se multiplient contre ce projet de construction de retenues d'eau, soutenu par le gouvernement.
