The Bond is strong with Q actor Ben Whishaw who voices the precocious titular bear. The cast is stacked with talent, including Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, and Nicole Kidman in key roles, with Michael Gambon and Imelda Stauton lending their voice talents. The director is Paul King (he of The Mighty Boosh), here helming the picture to critical and commercial success, to the tune of two BAFTA nominations and over $300 million at the box office. Beloved British actor and now author, Hugh Bonneville visits Nick and Angela at casa Grimshaw. Hugh has appeared in many iconic films opposite some of the greats of Hollywood, Notting Hill with Julia Roberts, Iris with Judi Dench, The Monuments Men with George Clooney, and the Paddington movies with everyone's favourite bear. He's equally celebrated for his portrayal of Robert Crawley in TV drama Downton Abbey and its film adaptations, for which he received Golden Globe nominations, two Emmys and the cast won three SAG Awards for Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series. Hugh recently published his debut memoir, Playing Under the Piano: From Downton to Darkest Peru. It's fair to say that Mr Bonneville rather hit the jackpot, as Angela Hartnett prepares Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. The special occasion calls for oysters and Champagne to start. Followed by a rosemary & black pepper brined wing rib of beef, flanked by sticky pigs in blankets, gratin dauphinois, maple-roast parsnips and carrots, brussels sprouts with pancetta and a red cabbage slaw. All paired with a delicate Muga Selección Especial Reserva and Angela's special tiramisu for dessert.  In this episode, Angela shares her incredible gravy recipe, Nick expresses his guilt about eating in front of the crew and Hugh tells some hilarious audition anecdotes and how he discovered his mother was a spy. There were no marmalade sandwiches on the menu, but plenty of love for Paddington, who sadly had to decline the invitation. It was developed from a story by King and Hamish McColl, which was based on the stories of the character Paddington Bear created by Michael Bond. Produced by David Heyman, Paddington stars Ben Whishaw as the voice of the title character, with Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, and Nicole Kidman in live-action roles. The film tells the story of Paddington, an anthropomorphic bear who migrates from the jungles of "Darkest Peru" to the streets of London, where he is adopted by the Brown family. Kidman plays a taxidermist who attempts to add him to her collection. A British and French venture produced by StudioCanal UK, TF1, and Heyday, Paddington's principal photography began in September 2013 and wrapped up in June 2014. Colin Firth was originally set to voice Paddington, but dropped out in post-production and was replaced by Whishaw. Paddington was released in the United Kingdom on 28 November 2014 to critical acclaim for Whishaw's vocal performance, humour, screenplay, visual effects and appeal to children and adults. It grossed $268 million worldwide on a €38.5 (~$55) million budget. It received two nominations at the BAFTAs: Best British Film and Best Adapted Screenplay. A sequel, Paddington 2, was released in 2017, with King and much of the cast returning.

Hailing from a tropical forest known as Darkest Peru, Paddington is a young bear with a deep love for marmalade and lives with his Aunt Lucy and Uncle Pastuzo. When an earthquake devastates his home, he flees to London hoping to find refuge based on the advice from an explorer who befriended the bears years ago. After encountering the loving Brown family, Paddington adjusts to life in England as he goes about on many adventures through the city. In today's episode, I give my review for both Paddington (2014) and Paddington 2 (2017)! Are both movies worth the hype and is the sequel, truly, one of the best movies of all time?
