As Christians, the most loving thing we can do is to speak truth God's truth, even if that means going against the rest of society. On today's edition of Family Talk, Dr. Tim Clinton concludes his discussion with author, Eric Metaxas, about his latest book, Letter to the American Church. Eric also challenges us to wake up and live out our Christian faith, for as James 2:17 says, Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. The question is, are we listening? Frat house of the dead.
"We are the things that were and shall be again." So a demonic flesh puppet tells Ash and his allies in a memorable scene from the classic splatstick flick Evil Dead II. In addition to being a rollicking piece of entertainment, Evil Dead II is an expertly crafted film whose director used every tool and technique to generate a cinematic experience that is – as the tagline went – "2 terrifying, 2 frightening ... 2 much!" In this episode, JF and Phil court the absurd by turning a fun 80s horror movie into a statement on the dread aspirations of matter and a shining example of the modern baroque. What will our final state be like?
In 1966, Time Magazine featured a cover story asking the question, Is God Dead? On today's edition of Family Talk, Christian talk show host Eric Metaxas mirrors that provocative cover with a question of his own: Is Atheism Dead? His new book of the same name explains that science makes the case for God's existence. For example, Dr. Stephen Collins, an archeologist, discovered the biblical Sodom complete with five feet of ash, melted bits of brick, and charred human bone. Scientifically, it could not have been caused by a fire or a volcano. The evidence points to the sobering truth of the Lord's judgment in Genesis 19. As fall comes, does the end of summer drive-in season mean the end of theatrical film-going for those of us unwilling to go back to a theater during COVID-19? On today's short episode once again is revolving guest-host Ted Haycraft, who joined me recently for positively perfect drive-in double-feature. We discuss how we're both ashamed to have only seen both these movies once, the original's low-budget effectiveness, the sequel calling a mulligan on a perfectly-fine original film, how fans watching that '87 sequel must've felt like Raimi and the Coens Bros. were making their own genus of hyperkinetic cinema, and what moment still brought an audience together with cheers even in a drive-in field. The Evil Dead is currently streaming on Netflix, while Evil Dead II is currently streaming on Hulu; both are also available on VOD.Haycraft is film critic for WFIE-14 and co-hosts Cinema Chat on its Midday show. He can also be found on Cinema Chat's Facebook page. Permalink

With the new trade, is Jalen Ramsey the missing piece for the Rams? Can two teams from the same conference make the CFP? How should rankings work in college football? Plus, the Cowboys have done it again. Football's dead for Premal on episode fifty-six. And don't miss his rant on NFL referees.
Former Ghanaian striker and Nottingham Forest player who recently passed away had a lot of love and shout out from his former team mates especially those from the national team. Current Blackstars captain Dede Ayew and Asamoah Gyan took to their social media platforms to offer their condolences to the family. Former Chelsea midfielder and Ghana Blackstar captain Michael Essien also took to his Instagram page to offer his condolences along with a picture of the two players during their time with the national team and that gesture seem to have triggered a lot of people. Even gospel musician Sonny Badu waded in on the fact that Junior Agogo was not shown any love when he was alive but now that he has passed everyone seem to want to show up and talk about how good he was and stuff. Most people called these condolences fake and that these people were not true friends. The Wahaala Boys look at the situation and ask if people are over reacting? #JuniorAgogo #SonnyBadu #MichaelEssien #DedeAyew #AsamoahGyan #Ghana #Africa #WahaalaBoysPodcast

The second part of the Homo & The Housewife's second VIDEO PARTY!! We finish the smash-hit (not) "God's Not Dead II" starring Sabrina The Teenage Witch. Our commentary + Caity's 'Asian voice' + THE JEWS! +++ Our de-brief at the end! This film was something that 'happened to us', like Harvey Weinstein.. But we loved it (Not really)
The Homo & The Housewife continue, throwing their 2nd VIDEO PARTY! On tap for today is the sequel to Christian 'epic' "God's Not Dead," which was a record-breaking profit-making film that depicted intellectuals and university professors as agents of religious repression. Jakob & Caity watch 'GNDII' and provide their commentary.........more entertaining than the actual film? You decide!
The follow up that turned us flaccid from our humpty bumpty first episode, House of the Dead II killed us! It actually picked up where the first movie left off and we don't know why. Also a character that we thought for sure died came back. If your legs get cut off by a zombie with an ax and you are left in a house that explodes, should you still be alive? Regardless, join us for another episode of Losing Lives!

In this episode of the Spiraken Manga Review, Xan finishes the Month of Totoros Tanukis and Tenacious Children without the assistance of his usual cadre of co-hosts but does have a surprise guest host to assist him in this great endeavor. He reviews arguably one of Hayao Miyazaki's best films of all time: The mystical action/adventure/fantasy/environmental film "Mononoke Hime/The Princess Mononoke" starring Billy Crudup, Claire Danes, Minnie Driver,Billy Bob Thorton, John Di MAggio,John DeMita, Jada Pinkett Smith, Keith David and Gillian Anderson. For the original Japanese it is starring Yoji Matsuda, Yuriko Ishida, Yuko Tanaka, Kaoru Kobayashi, Tsunehiko Kamijo, Sumi Shimamoto , Akihiro Miwa, and Hisaya Morishige But that's not all, our intrepid hosts also review the newest Studio Ghibli film, "Kari-gurashi no Arietti/ Arrietty/The Secret World of Arriety" which was directed by newcomer Hiromasa Yonebayashi and stars (well for the UK release anyway) Saoirse Ronan,Mark Strong, Olivia Colman, Like Allen-Gale, Tom Holland, Phyllida Law, Geraldine McEwan and Ray Gillon. For the original Japanese Dub we have Mirai Shida, Ryunosuke Kamiki, Shinobu Otake, Keiko Takeshita, Tatsuya Fujiwara, Tomokazu Miura, and Kirin Kik as the stars of the film. For the abysmal US Dubm there is Bridget Mendler, David Henrie, Amy Poehler, Gracie Poletti, Moises Arias, Will Arnett, and Carol Burnett. There is also an in depth discussion about the history of Studio Ghibli as well as some of the other things that Hayao Miyazaki has worked on in his long illustrious career. We also discuss the misadventures of our possible mascot, Barry the Kodama and why some actors should not be voice actors Please send us any comments concerns and ideas on how to make this podcast better. Let us know so we can do something about it.
