A drone appears to have struck a boat from the Global Sumud Flotilla while it was docked at a Tunisian port on its way to bring aid into Gaza, temporarily starting a fire. Nobody on board was harmed. The boat was reportedly crewed by the same activists who had attempted to sail to Gaza on the Madleen this past July, including Greta Thunberg. And it is here worth noting that Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir recently said that Global Sumud Flotilla activists must be designated as terrorists and treated accordingly, in order to "create a clear deterrent" against foreign parties attempting to bring aid into Gaza by sea. It is no mystery who the prime suspect is in this attack. Reading by Tim Foley.
ANZ has announced it will lay off thousands of employees as part of a significant restructure; The New South Wales government is introducing new tenancy laws to help domestic violence victims escape abusive living situations; Greta Thunberg’s Gaza Flotilla has reportedly been "firebombed" off the coast of North Africa; The decades-long saga over the Murdoch media empire has concluded, with Rupert Murdoch’s eldest son, Lachlan, now cemented as his successor; A federal appeals court has rejected Donald Trump's attempt to overturn a multimillion-dollar defamation verdict; And Australian football star Mary Fowler is set to make her runway debut at Paris Fashion Week. The Quicky is the easiest and most enjoyable way to get across the news every day. And it’s delivered straight to your ears in a daily podcast so you can listen whenever you want, wherever you want...at the gym, on the train, in the playground or at night while you're making dinner. Part 4 of All Bones Considered: Laurel Hill Stories #078 Despite his very French name, Jacques Louis Francine was from a well-established Philadelphia family. HIs grandfather was a Union general, his father was the world's expert on tuberculosis. Jacques was the ultimate outdoorsman, collecting specimens for the Academy of Natural Sciences in northern Canada and starting a canoe camp. But he was also a decorated fighter pilot and bomber pilot with more than 30 missions to his name. He is buried in section V at Laurel Hill East.

HELP SUPPORT US AS WE DOCUMENT HISTORY HERE: https://gogetfunding.com/help-keep-wam-alive/# Josh Sigurdson reports on the latest series of stories out of Israel as Israeli troops are set to occupy Southern Syria permanently. The Israeli government confirmed it will "remain" in the territory it has captured in Southern Syria as a permanent occupation which will likely lead to annexation. This comes after Israeli funded HTS insurgents overthrew Assad in January, interestingly in the exact same manner as they had claimed they would in a CIA document called "Bringing Arms To Bear In Syria" back in the 1980s which we covered at length back in 2018 on our channel. Christians, Sunnis and Alawites are being attacked on the regular in Syria since this takeover and bombs are dropping on central Damascus. Israel's Finance Minister Smotrich claimed months before the HTS takeover in 2024 that Israel will take over Syria. As nearly 100,000 people are killed in Gaza under the guise of attacking Hamas which has recieved arms and money from Israel and utilize tunnels Israel built in the first place, the Israeli conquest of the Middle East continues as designed. A nursery school in Lebanon was struck by an Israeli bomb which was caught on video in Tebnine, South Lebanon. This comes as Israel claims that the ceasefire they have with Lebanon does not mean they can't bomb the country. The Israeli military bombed Yemen's capital Sanaa for the second time this week as well. The Israeli government has for decades created proxies in the middle east as an "excuse" to target these countries as they brag about sending migrants to the west. Then they claim they're the only peaceful country in the region. Perhaps doing a before and after between the 1960s and now, before and after their proxy wars with countries in the region would wake some people up... Turkey is boasting about banning Israeli military from their air space while continuing massive trade deals with the country, not to mention helping HTS take over Syria. Meanwhile the subversion of the US government via blackmail and lobbying becomes more apparent by the day as pro Israel US politicians gather at a UN hearing. Stay tuned for more from WAM! Episode 73 In the late 1980s, Florida's Gulf Coast was a powder keg of cocaine, cash, and violence. In this episode, we dive into the wild case of Jeff Matthews — a drug kingpin whose ego was as big as his rap sheet, and whose grudges were… explosive. When a federal investigation started closing in, Matthews didn't just lawyer up — he plotted bombings. One of his alleged targets? A Fort Myer's Florida fire marshal. And somehow, in the tangled web of suspects, an innocent-sounding pizza joint landed in the crosshairs of investigators. From late-night parties and sudden gunfire to booby-trapped vans and high-stakes plea deals, this case has it all: drugs, bombs, and one very memorable slice of Florida true crime. This week, Ress and Gabi unpack what it feels like to be “love bombed by life”—those whirlwind moments when everything happens all at once: big wins, major curveballs, and life-altering changes that don't exactly wait their turn. From new jobs and personal breakthroughs to emotional overload and decision fatigue, they explore how even the best things can feel like too much when they hit all at once.Gabi opens up about her recent season of growth and transition, highlighting the unsung heroes—support systems, boundaries, and a solid cup of coffee. The duo dives into the idea of love bombing in relationships and cleverly flips it on its head to talk about how life itself can sometimes overwhelm us with "too much of everything."They discuss the sneaky signs of burnout, the pressure to say yes to every opportunity, and why it's okay to hit pause—even when life's throwing glitter. With honest reflections and practical tips (think commitment audits, grounding rituals, and protecting your peace), Ress and Gabi remind us that while intense chapters are temporary, our well-being is not negotiable.

In 1954 Johnnie Frank Griffin witnessed the violent death of Attorney General-elect Albert Patterson, of Alabama. Six months later he told a grand jury what he knew. The next day he was stabbed. Though his wounds seemed slight, that night he died in a hospital built from the profits of crime. Nine years later, less than an hour after the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Johnnie Frank?s son, Frank Griffin, saw Lee Harvey Oswald fleeing the scene of the murder of a Dallas police officer. Between these two events Frank grew up in one of the strangest decades in American history. His story touches that of one of the era?s best known governors, John Patterson of Alabama. It intersects with mob bosses and CIA operations. There?s even room for country music and barroom brawls. This story shows how Frank Griffin?s life was truly Touched By Fire.https://amzn.to/41bIGNSBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

Send us a textIt's July 10th, and the Daily Drop is back with Jared dropping truth bombs harder than a B-1 on afterburner. From the announcement of the next Operator Training Summit in Nashville (spoiler: it's gonna slap) to the Pentagon lobbing real ones at Iran, this episode's got more hot takes than a Twitter war during a government shutdown.Jared breaks down military logistics like your drunk uncle explaining the NFL draft—passionate, slightly unhinged, but mostly right. He rants about AF simulators being broken garbage, drones flying into everything, the VA being predictably dysfunctional, and why the Air Force is still pretending they might keep the B-1 (spoiler: they're not). Also, the Space Force apparently needs another $6 billion. For what? Who knows. If you like your defense briefings with a side of sarcasm, a shot of cynicism, and topped with real-world experience, this one's for you.

SEASON 3 EPISODE 140: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: We join the Trump Dictatorship, already in progress. He has attacked Iran, declared undeclared war on Iran, denied he wanted regime change there and is now insisting there should be regime change. And it's all because he has lost America. The Economist polling that has his OVERALL approval underwater in FIFTEEN states… that HE WON LAST YEAR. SEVEN under in Pennsylvania, FOUR under in Georgia, FOUR under in North Carolina, eight under in Michigan, eight under in Pennsylvania. Even CNN’s pollster Harry Enten says “I think we can say Trump has lost the political battle when it comes to what has happened in Los Angeles." CNN has Trump at -15 approval on his key issue: immigration, and -24 among independents. Trump attacked Iran because he has lost America. As a political observer wrote on January 17, 2012, “Obama will attack Iran in order to get re-elected.” And the SAME political observer wrote on October 9, 2012, “Now that Obama’s poll numbers are in tailspin watch for him to launch a strike in Libya or Iran. He is desperate.” And the SAME political observer then wrote on September 16 2013 “I predict that President Obama will at some point attack Iran in order to save face,” and as the SAME political observer wrote on September 25, 2013 “Remember what I previously said, Obama will some day attack Iran in order to show how tough he is,” and how finally that SAME political observer wrote on November 10 2013 “Remember that I predicted a long time ago that President Obama will attack Iran because of his inability to negotiate properly – not skilled” – and that political observer was… Donald J. Trump. I'll analyze the consequences of Trump's unconstitutional act - including angering Putin - and the hilarious moment when Pete Hegseth got the location of the target wrong. Plus Trump's nonsensical "I'd especially like to thank God," his lies about being opposed to Iraq, and the small victory: the Senate parliamentarian says they have to strip from the budget bill the move to limit the courts' ability to restrain Trump. B-Block (37:32) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: It's like Champions Week on Jeopardy: Mayor Eric Adams keeps digging, Jake Tapper keeps digging, and Stephen A. Smith is digging so hard to align himself with the reprehensible Candace Owens that at this rate Smith will be forcing ESPN to fire him. C-Block (50:45) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Of all the things you don't expect to come up on Jason Benetti's Detroit Tigers telecast is not one but two ex-pitchers confessing they still have dreams - thirty years later - that the anthem is playing, they are supposed to be pitching, but they cannot find their uniforms or that their shoelaces have been tied together. I'll explain why the mini-PTSD dream has become a nostalgic dream for these guys from my cohort: Frank Tanana, Dan Petry, and me.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
