Wellness and Wahala Warriors I have special VIP guest and Governance Gist today with Legendary-Lanre Dabiri (eLDee)! eLDee is credited as one of the pioneers of the afrobeats music genre. In 1998, he started a band called Trybesmen which went on to be one of the music groups that popularized the fusion of Hip-hop, highlife, pop, and contemporary afrobeat music. Trybesmen were a continental hit by the year 2000 and played a pivotal role in the shaping of the new music genre that became known to the rest of the world as “Afrobeats”. eLDee signed a total of 16 artists to his Trybe Records label. Alongside his music group Trybesmen and other Trybe Records artists, and despite a lack of infrastructure, they produced the massive hit singles “Shake Bodi”, “Plenty nonsense”, "Work it" and "Oya" between 1999 and 2002. eLDee is also credited for jump-starting what became the largest physical distribution network for music and movies (Nollywood) across the African continent in 2001, which enabled the initial reach and influence of Nigerian entertainment across the continent and internationally. After moving to the United States in 2002, eLDee recorded 4 solo albums. He won "Best International Album" at the 2007 Nigeria Entertainment Awards in New York City and was nominated in the category of “Best African artist” at the internationally acclaimed and UK-hosted MOBO (Music of black origin) awards in 2009. He was one of the first Nigerian artists to secure international music collaborations with US artists and was featured on CNN for his hit single “One day” in 2011. eLDee has worked as an artist, songwriter, producer, director, and interactive media consultant. On this episode we discuss with NIDO co-host Mr. Collins Chucks on Governance Gist about the state of Nigeria and the vital importance of the Diaspora. In addition, we also discuss the recent sad outcome of the Nigerian Senators and House of reps not passing and voting YES to the recent Diaspora voting bill which would have allowed us in diaspora to have a vote in helping choose better leaders to transform our nation. As 2023 presidential elections is approaching the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization has implemented an online petition with 5 urgent request and we ask you to sign and support at this link: https://chng.it/dBL2qW9CKG eLDee drops great gems and tips on how to transform our nation starting with better policies and also socioeconomic empowerment and more. To here full gist and also get a bonus at the end of vital information to participate in his training program that has transformed the lives of many Nigerians both at home and in Diaspora with many now making 6 figure incomes go to his website to learn more and enroll now o: https://www.coachdabiri.com/?r_done=1 and to listen to his Nigerian American podcast and learn more info go to https://linktr.ee/eldeethedon thanks to NIDO radio 24/7 online and the NIDO Governance gist for the sponsorship of this show. In 2010, Eldee The Don dropped The Return of the King. It was his fifth album. Typical of Eldee, conscious of the situation in the country, he made a song of hope for Nigeria's future. The song is titled One Day. It's a rap song with two verses explicitly exploring the many dramatic and disturbing stories of the horror of Nigerian livelihood. The chorus was inspired by the song One Day E Go Better by a group called Safari - Abay Esho and Mike Nliam.. Enjoy this episode. Please follow @SampleAxisPod.

It's all over the news and social media, the brutal murder of George Floyd, the 46 year old black male known to his friends as 'Big Floyd' in Minneapolis. His death sparked protests across the US and other nations with demonstrators desperately calling for an end to police violence. My Floyd was an unarmed black man who died after a Minneapolis Police Officer knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes as he told them he couldn't breath. Bimbola and Jo had an extensive discussion with 2 guests who reside in The United States of America to weigh in on the matter of Police Brutality and Racism evidenced through this unfortunate incident. Our guests were Mr Sola Okusaga and fellow podcaster (Nigerian American), entrepreneur and musician Lanre Dabiri aka Eldee the Don. It was an interesting and quite informative discussion and the guests brought a new perspective to the issue. Definitely gave us food for thought. Tune in to catch the full gist.
