In this powerful episode of the H.E.A.L. Her Podcast, I'm joined by Dr. Duate Adegbite and Dr. Nena Watson—best friends, family doctors, and co-founders of Imana Health. Together, we explore their journey as Black women physicians breaking barriers in medicine and wellness to build a brand rooted in faith, science, and sisterhood. We dive deep into why they created Muna, an oral probiotic designed specifically for vaginal health and immune support, and how they're changing the conversation around what it means to be truly well. We talk about healing, legacy, recurrent yeast infections, wellness myths, and why every woman deserves access to simple, reliable vaginal care that sees her, honours her, and empowers her. Because healing doesn't begin on the outside—it starts within. And these women are leading that movement. In This Episode, We Cover: The inspiration behind Imana Health and its founders' friendship Why Muna was created—and how it supports vaginal health and immunity Breaking the silence around recurrent yeast infections The intersection of medicine, Black womanhood, and entrepreneurship How to reclaim your health through science, ritual, and daily intention What legacy means when you're building something for the next generation Connect with Imana Health:

Known for her ability to craft songs that are both deeply personal and strikingly universal, the folk-pop artist has toured with the likes of Noah Kahan, MUNA, and Amos Lee, and earned admiration from artists including Maisie Peters and Gretta Ray. Last week, Jensen released her stunning sophomore album I Don't Know How But They Found Me—a haunting, beautifully detailed collection exploring change, heartbreak, and acceptance through raw vocals and evocative storytelling. In today's episode, we chat with Jensen about the making of the record, the role of journaling and everyday observation in her creative process, her brief but memorable foray into comedy, and working alongside her brother on the album. I'm very excited to introduce this week's guest, London-based artist, Dirt Flirt. Her music has been described as 'dirty alt-pop'—a genre she's making entirely her own. We discuss Dirt Flirt's impressive musical background, including playing guitar for Bimini while opening for MUNA on their UK tour…no big deal. Lately, she's already surpassed 70,000 streams for her catchy pop hook, Boyfriend, on Spotify alone. Her new single, Necklace, is out today, so you know what to do right after finishing this episode: listen to it! Duh.

Talking of Many Things Part 1: Loopy Training, The T'ai Chi Wall, Head Lowering and Pushy Horses This is a continuation of a conversation that Dominique and I had together at the beginning of February. My original intent when we got together was to talk about the new version of the DVD lessons, but then I got sidetracked because I really wanted to share the videos that Muna Clough sent me as part of the on-line clinics. That was the subject of our previous two episodes. I even included a discussion from our monthly on-line coaching session that included contributions from Muna, Anita Schnee and Lucy Butler. Both Anita and Lucy have been frequent guests on the podcast. So now finally in this week's episode we're going to talk about the DVD lessons. I have recognized for a long time that people no longer have DVD players, so I am transferring the DVDs to the same platform that hosts my on-line clinics. But I'm not just transferring the original lessons, I am providing updates and additional material. For me it's been a fun project. In the first four lessons I get to watch a very young Robin illustrating key elements in the foundation lessons. Twenty-five years later we are still using those elements and enjoying the many benefits they create. In this episode we are going to focus primarily on Lesson 2: Ground Manners. This lesson provides the connections, the bridge between traditional pressure and release of pressure training and what we want clicker training to be. Whether it is a leash attached to a dog collar or a lead attached to a halter, the communication is tactile. It is pressure and release of pressure. For me it has never been a choice between using these tools or never touching them. It has always been about the teaching process and the way we frame our training. One teaching process leads to command-based, do-it-or-else training. The other process leads to cue-based conversations. I want the conversation. So Lesson #2 seeks to understand the difference. The focus is on shaping on a point of contact. We'll be talking about loopy training, head lowering, the t'ai chi wall and what to do when you are working with a horse who falls over his inside shoulder and crowds into you. That's something I know a lot of people struggle with when they try to lead their horses so I'm sure this topic will be of interest.
Jari Kinnusen Nostalgiapaloja-podcast sukeltaa suomalaisten salibandyseurojen ensivuosiin. Nostalgiapalojen jakso numero 48 onkin todellinen nostalgisointi.
This is Part 2 of a conversation that Dominique and I had together at the beginning of February. I've been sharing a remarkable series of videos from one of my on-line clients, Muna Clough. In the previous episode I described the videos Muna sent me and the remarkable changes that occurred over a six day period. I shared Muna's videos with my monthly coaching session group. The videos sparked a fascinating discussion about the power of tiny movements. We're joined by Muna Clough, Anita Schnee, and Lucy Butler. Anita is a Feldenkrais Practitioner. Lucy manages the River Haven Animal Sanctuary in Rhode Island. Both have been frequent guests on this podcast.
Atento a las tradiciones del momento y al calendario gastronómico, el cocinero Samuel Naveira, del restaurante "Muna" de Ponferrada, comparte con nosotros su receta de las Orejas de Carnaval. In February 2025 Israeli forces raided the Educational Bookshop in East Jerusalem. The bookstore is one of the oldest in the city and is frequented by Palestinians, Israelis and international patrons. It is a staple in Jerusalem, and the Israeli raid prompted international outcry. The Israelis claimed that the bookstore was promoting violence – something which is abjectly false. The Educational Bookshop sells books on a wide range of topics from Palestinian liberation to Zionism to English literature. It features authors from Palestine and Israel and beyond. If you enjoy Kalam Podcast and want to support the show, there is an excellent way to do so - by signing up to our Patreon. In Touch assesses the findings of a report that looks at the ways special educational needs care is being delivered to the children who need it. The report gives little to no mention of the challenges of specific groups of pupils and so, with the help of Rachael Hewett of the Vision Impairment Centre for Teaching and Research at Birmingham University and the Thomas Pocklington Trust's Tara Chattaway, we review the implications of a system in crisis for visually impaired pupils. When it is your time of the month and you're visually impaired, it can be tricky to know when your period has arrived. In Touch looks at an upcoming device that is aiming to provide women with information about their menstrual cycle in an accessible way. The device and corresponding app, is called FlowSense. Muna Daud is the founder and CEO and she provides information on how the device works. Leanne Best and Tassia Leefe, both describe the unique challenges they have with their periods as visually impaired women. FlowSense are looking for more women to test out their prototypes. If you are interested, you can contact Muna Daud via email: Muna@flowsense.co. Juliette Touma, Mahmoud Muna and Matthew Teller discuss their new book Daybreak in Gaza with Clint Borgen. Jayyab Abusafia is also coauthor of Daybreak in Gaza but wasn't able to attend this interview. Book Description:"This was Gaza. A place of humanity and creativity, rich in culture and industry. A place now pulverised and devastated, its entire population displaced by a seemingly endless onslaught. Today, as its heritage is being destroyed, Gaza's survivors preserve their culture through literature, music, stories and memories. Daybreak in Gaza is a record of that heritage, revealing an extraordinary place and people. Vignettes of artists, acrobats, doctors, students, shopkeepers and teachers across the generations offer stories of love, life, loss and survival. They display the wealth of Gaza's cultural landscape and the breadth of its history. This remarkable book humanises the people dismissed as mere statistics and portrays lives full of joy and meaning. Daybreak in Gaza stands as a mark of resistance to the destruction, and as a testament to the people of Gaza."Purchase Daybreak in GazaEmail Congress in support of a ceasefire in Gaza.Official podcast of The Borgen Project, an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty.borgenproject.org

This week's episode comes to you in the afterglow of two sold out Joni Mitchell performances at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, where molecules were rearranged, hearts were broken wide open and 17,000 fans basked in her brilliance. Though she has a bit of FOMO over missing out on being part of the Joni Jam, this week's first guest, Shawn Colvin, has plenty of Joni stories. After initially discovering Clouds as a teenager at church camp, Shawn found herself many years later recording her 2nd album at Joni's house with Joni's then-husband Larry Klein, and Episode 7 guests Béla Fleck and Bruce Hornsby. Shawn says that she learned everything she could from Clouds, including a percussive approach to guitar, and it set her on a path to a solo approach to performing and writing songs which would not have happened without Joni Mitchell. She tells host/producer Carmel Holt about her “big brother” relationship with Bruce Hornsby and how he helped her overcome the heartbreak of a terrible New York Times live show review by sharing a folder of his own scathing media clips, one of which called him a “gherkin” (UK speak for pickle). MUNA guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and writer Naomi McPherson grew up in a family of jazz musicians. Like several of our guests, their gateway to Joni Mitchell was Blue and then the fretless bass of Jaco Pastorius on Hejira locked them in. From there, they went hardcore into 70s and onward Joni while listening to cassette tapes of Turbulent Indigo, Night Ride Home and Miles of Aisles in their 1998 Honda Accord. Naomi says that they are still learning from Joni's music and that because of her, they play exclusively in open tunings. They talk about how Joni's music spans genres and how much sonic exploration there is to mine in her catalog - from folk to the jazz era to 80s pop influences. Naomi thanks Joni for her fearlessness and considers her to be the greatest songwriter of all time.

Today marks one year since the most recent escalation of violence and aggression against Gaza, and the genocide that has unfolded before us. This episode was recorded prior to recent bombardments of Lebanon. On this week's episode, I'm speaking to Mahmoud Muna, who's taking part in this conversation from his bookshop in Jerusalem. Mahmoud Muna, along with co-editor Matthew Teller and with Juliette Touma and Jayyab Abusafia have worked on a stunning and heartbreaking book called Daybreak in Gaza. Daybreak in Gaza is a collection of almost 50 accounts, essays, interviews and diary entry from Palestinians, mainly in Gaza. They share their experiences of life in Gaza over the last year amid genocide, bombardments, raids and immense loss of life. What permeates through the pages of this book is not only courage, but hope, in essence, the day-break in Gaza. Mahmoud Muna, born in Jerusalem and raised in a refugee camp (Shu'fat), is a notable Palestinian figure known as the bookseller of Jerusalem. He runs his family's two renowned bookshops: The Educational Bookshop and the Bookshop at the American Colony Hotel. Muna is a computer science graduate and a trained communicator who has become an influential voice in Palestinian cultural and literary circles. His work extends to writing for local and international cultural magazines and newspapers, and he is deeply involved in various cultural initiatives.Order Daybreak in Gaza here: https://saqibooks.com/books/saqi/daybreak-in-gaza/---If you find my podcast helpful, inspiring or thoughtful, please do consider supporting me so I can put out great episodes like this. As an international touring artist on fiddle and pedal steel, Andrea Whitt will be joiningMoby in Europe this September on his first tour in ten years. She has also toured with country megastar Shania Twain, Italian rocker Zucchero, country artist/rapper Struggle Jennings opening for Jelly Roll, and an exclusive VIP experience performance on the Dead and Company tour. This year Andrea stepped out from her long time role as a side musician and produced her first solo show where Robby Krieger from The Doors joined her on stage as a special guest. She was also recently a guest performer with the well-known jam band, Blues Traveler. Andrea has performed at many of the world's top amphitheaters, arenas and theaters, and has shared stages with high-profile artists across all genres. Her credits include Journey, Ariana Grande, Moby, Kamasi Washington, KYGO, Deep Purple, Stevie Wonder, Cee-Lo Green, One Republic, Natalie Cole, John Legend, Halsey, Harry Connick Jr., Phil Lesh, Jelly Roll, BB Rexha, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Allison Wonderland. Last fall she joined the house band for the CMT show ‘Smashing Glass' where she performed with Clint Black, Chris Jensen, Lucy Silvas. Andrea has also recorded on many acclaimed albums, including Kendrick Lamar's Grammy Award-winning To Pimp a Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar's Damn, Kamasi Washington's The Epic and Harmony of Difference, Zucchero's Black Cat Live, Stu Hamm's Hold Fast, Blxst, Katie Gavin of Muna, and a PBS special with Shania Twain. Set for August 2024, Andrea Whitt's next release is “Sleepwalk,” her take on the classic song by Santo & Johnny. Andrea's version dark, dreamy and ethereal, and sounds like what you'd get if Lana Del Rey played pedal steel. The “Sleepwalk” video was shot at the historic Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. Since most of her work is as a hired performer with other artists, when she has a release of her own, Andrea puts time and care into every facet of her artistry including styling her own wardrobe, artistic direction, and merch designs. Determined and eager to explore new facets of creativity, Andrea wants her life to feel like the non-stop expression of Interlochen Arts Camp she went to growing up. In addition to music, she's a lifelong visual artist, having started drawing and painting when she was a toddler. Andrea is regularly commissioned for paintings in her signature ink and watercolor and oil painting styles. Much of her work can be found on her site, Boho Bunnie, which started as a fashion blog with recognition from press such as Marie Clare, Britt & Co and Free People. Modeling for the camera has “a similar type of energy” to performing on stage. The Boho Bunnie blog is morphing into a lifestyle brand, which produces products that inspire and encapsulate the fun, sexy, and expressive bohemian in all of us. She's now hard at work building the Boho Bunnie brand, which includes art prints, merch she has designed, fashion and a perfume line. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)

You may remember the show in 2001 on ABC called “The Mole.” Or maybe you're watching its reprise on Netflix, hosted by NPR's own Ari Shapiro. If you're unfamiliar, it's a reality competition where contestants work as a group to add money to a pot that only one of them will eventually win. Among the contestants is one person who has secretly been designated “the mole,” tasked with sabotaging the group's money-making efforts. Season two is currently airing on Netflix, and it features a Minnesotan. Contestant Muna Abdulahi joined MPR News host Cathy Wurzer to talk about her experience on the show — with no spoilers!
The Connected Yoga Teacher Podcast 376: Collective Care Over Individualistic Self-Care with Muna Shakour Description: The massacre and genocide of Palestinians in Gaza have been going on for months now, and other genocide emergencies are simultaneously taking place around the world. Yet, many (especially in the health and wellness industry), still refuse to speak up, choosing instead to prioritize their safety and comfort over the need for liberation and freedom for all oppressed people. Muna Shakour shares her perspective as a Palestinian with family in the West Bank about shifting from focusing on self-care to looking at collective care. Muna Shakour is a personal development coach who accidentally became an activist after the events in Gaza started. Her coaching practice has evolved over the years, from a Parenting Coach for parents of children 8 years and younger to coaching small business owners and coaches on how to grow their businesses and personal brands online to attract their ideal clients. Muna also offers corporate training focused on self-reflection and developing soft skills for leadership. Since October 7, Muna has been actively speaking out against the atrocities happening in Gaza and Palestine, sharing information and drawing attention to the situation there. Muna talks about her work before October 7, 2023 and how she gets nervous about talking about her “work” now. She highlights the relationship we have with all people, the earth, and all creatures, and why we need to focus on caring for the collective “we” instead of focusing solely on self-care for “me”. Muna shares very honestly about the emotions she is experiencing and how that influences her decisions in who to connect with, hire, and support. She also offers some suggestions about how to navigate working for a company that won't allow you to speak up and how to continue running your online business alongside speaking up for peace and justice. Key Takeaways: [3:29] Shannon gives a shout-out of thanks to sponsors OfferingTree and Pelvic Health Professionals. [6:02] Shannon introduces her guest for this episode - Muna Shakour. [10:35] What does Muna do and who does she do it for? She shares more about her professional journey and how she "accidentally" became an activist. [21:04] Shannon and Muna discuss what it has been like for them to encounter people in the wellness world who say they don't have the capacity to care about everything, especially when they have been increasingly involved in social justice movements in the past few years. [28:35] A lot of us have been feeling a lot of anger and grief. We need to find productive ways to channel that energy. [31:23] How can we be more careful with who we choose to work with and where we give our money to ensure that our values are aligned? [37:48] Shannon pops in to share a little bit about OfferingTree. [40:06] What are Muna's thoughts on when someone says something online that is harmful or hurtful, but it's because they still have some learning to do? [44:39] Muna shares a little about what it's like being a Palestinian and having to avoid mentioning her identity for various reasons. [47:09] We can use our privilege to start speaking up about Palestine and exercise our empathy to imagine what must be like for Palestinians. [53:19] In the health and wellness space, a lot of people try hard not to post political things. Shannon and Muna discuss how they're changing people's minds about this stance. [58:11] Muna shares her dream of people mobilizing en masse to demand change. [63:33] Palestine has become a measure of what we will stand for and what we will not allow. [66:44] What would Muna say to a yoga teacher who has not spoken up till now and is wondering how to do so now? [73:33] We have to speak out even louder because we have privilege and clout that others don't. [80:40] Shannon shares some of her reflections from this conversation with Muna. [81:59] Shannon talks about some of the upcoming events in Pelvic Health Professionals and upcoming episodes of the podcast. Quotes from this episode: "Because the focus was so much on the self, we lost that feeling of community and the good of the collective versus the individual." "There's always a relationship between us and nature and the universe and earth and the world and people." "This is the future. The future is you're not following just for the advice. You're following the person, their personal brand, of course, with all of the marketing, but the values of this person and it needs to shine through." "I imagine if I'm a mom there, how would I want people on the outside to be?" "My personal opinion is you can still do work and talk about Palestine and they can even both be done at the same time." "What will you stand for and what will you not allow?" "This whole idea of the separateness is what's hurting us all. We have to remember that we are connected and relationships are the most important thing."
