We cultivate Counter-Racist Media Literacy by scrutinizing journalists' word choices and using logic to deconstruct what is reported as "news." We'll use these sessions to hone our use of terms as tools to reveal truth, neutralize Racists/White people. #ANTIBLACKNESS The death of former President Jimmy Carter - who happened to be in the White House during the 1978 Jonestown holocaust, was completely forgotten by the time 2025 arrived. A reported Terrorist attack in New Orleans, Louisiana hours into 2025 resulted in15 people being killed when a motorist drove a truck over a pedestrian path in the French Quarter. The attacker, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, engaged in gun fire with the police and is reported to have had explosive devises as well. Hours later, a Tesla cybertruck exploded in front of a Las Vegas, Nevada Trump hotel. The White motorist may have been deceased prior to the detonation. President Joe Biden announced that at this moment, there's no evidence linking the Nevada and Louisiana attacks. A black male, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, is suspected of acting alone in New Orleans and of being influenced by the terrorist group ISIS. The Nevada attacker is reportedly a Colorado Springs White Man and former Green Beret who has not been connected with ISIS. Both suspects have military experience and spent time at North Carolina's Fort Bragg. Gus T. emphasized the number of black male veterans who've engaged in recent acts of mass violence. John Allen Muhammad, the convicted "DC Sniper" in 2002; Christopher Dorner, the 2013 suspected California killer; and Micah Xavier Johnson, the 2016 Dallas, Texas alleged "cop killer." #DryJanuary #TurnerDiaries #TheCOWS16Years INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#
Interview with retired ATF Special Agent Roland Ballesteros. Years of Service: 1987-2018Roland grew up in Texas in a large family with a history of law enforcement going back to the 1800s to his great, great, great grandfather, who was a deputy sheriff. That service history continued through his family, with one brother becoming an ATF Special Agent and another working for the Air Force and, ultimately, the NSA.As Roland was searching for what to do with his life, one brother took him for a ride along in high school, and from that moment on Roland realized he wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement. As Roland was finishing college, he knew he didn't want to work in an office and was trying to decide what law enforcement agency to go into. His brother told Roland to join the ATF, which Roland knew little about. After researching the agency, Roland applied and began his career in 1987 as a Special Agent.During his career, Roland has worked on investigations focusing on felons in possession, fugitive apprehension, militias, the Centennial Park Bombing, the Eric Rudolph manhunt, homicides, gangs, home invasions, drug trafficking, the DC Sniper, and numerous other investigations.Roland has been involved in investigations throughout the United States and other countries, including Mexico and El Salvador.During this interview, Roland tells numerous stories about his career, including a harrowing recounting of the search warrant served at the infamous Branch Davidian Compound in Waco, Texas.

The NYPD told the New York Times investigators are looking into the possibility the gunman who killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson may have used what is known as a veterinary gun, a larger firearm used on farms and ranches. Also Friday, a backpack believed to belong to the suspect was found in Central Park, a law enforcement official told CNN. Plus, the race to identify the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooter is hardly the first time a manhunt captivated the nation's attention. What can high-profile investigations into the Boston Marathon bombing and DC Sniper tell us about how the current search might end? CNN's Brian Todd takes a look. Learn more about your ad choices. In October 2002, 2 snipers terrorized the Beltway/DC area when they went on a multiple day shooting spree. The media told everyone to watch out for 2 white men in a white van, but that description couldn't be further from the truth. The DC SniperOct 24, 2022BackgroundThe D.C. sniper attacks(also known as the Beltway sniper attacks) were a series of coordinated shootings that occurred during three weeks in October 2002 throughout the Washington metropolitan area, consisting of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Ten people were killed, and three others were critically wounded. The snipers were John Allen Muhammad (age 41 at the time) and Lee Boyd Malvo (age 17 at the time), who traveled in a blue 1990 Chevrolet Caprice sedan. Their crime spree, which began in February 2002, included murders and robberies in several states, which resulted in seven deaths and seven injuries. In total, the snipers killed 17 people and wounded 10 others in a 10-month spanKatie Florsh joins Ed Opperman to discuss her findings while looking into the case. There's reason to believe the FBI had more to do with the events in 2002 than just an investigation…Did they have information they sat on? Were the assailants known to the FBI before they moved in on them? Were the events of October 2002 allowed to continue past where they could have been stopped to re-enforce the sense of paranoia and suspicion which pervaded the US in the couple of years following 9/11?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

When we left you at the end of part 1, John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo had begun a killing spree that took them from Tacoma, Washington, through Arizona, Louisiana, and Maryland. By October 2002, they had killed or wounded 10 people, with Muhammad pointing his finger and Malvo pointing his gun. Malvo believed himself to be a soldier in the fight to free the marginalized people of the world. Muhammad made him his acolyte, traveling across the country, playing him anti-American propaganda through headphones as he slept, putting him through a grueling physical regimen, as well as making him eat a sparse vegetarian diet. Muhammad told him that white people were “devils” and that they had to prepare for the oncoming race war. For 30 days, they would kill 6 white people a day, until the US government agreed to their terms and paid them off to go away. Do you remember Snow White, campers? You know, the princess whose step mother was so jealous of her beauty that she cursed her with a poison apple? Today's case is like that. Someone whose wrath and anger was so terrible that it harmed everyone it touched. To him, not getting his way was a fate worse than death and in order to right the wrongs, he'd commit crimes that would change American lives forever. With the gift of a single pastry, he would ensure a child's loyalty so completely that the child would kill for him. He was a manipulator, a magician, and along with the naive fool that accompanied him, he would kill dozens of people. True Crime Podcast 2024 - REAL Police Interrogations, 911 Calls, True Police Stories and True Crime
The DC Snipers Serial Killers Documentary Beltway Snipers At 3:19 in the morning on October 24, 2002, the FBI closed in on the snipers and their 1990 Chevy Caprice. During the month, 10 people had been randomly gunned down and three critically injured while going about their everyday lives—mowing the lawn, pumping gas, shopping, reading a book. Among the victims was one of our own—FBI intelligence analyst Linda Franklin, who was felled by a single bullet while leaving a home improvement store in Virginia with her husband. But now, the attacks—which had terrorized the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area—had finally come to an end. How It Began The murders that shocked the nation's capital and the nation itself had started three weeks earlier. On October 2, 2002, a sniper's bullet struck down a 55-year-old man in a parking lot in Wheaton, Maryland. By 10 o'clock the next morning, four more people within a few miles of each other had been similarly murdered. The attacks were soon linked, and a massive multi-agency investigation was launched. The case was led by the Montgomery County (Maryland) Police Department, headed by Chief Charles Moose, with the FBI and many other law enforcement agencies playing a supporting role. Chief Moose had specifically requested our help through a federal law on serial killings. Within days, the FBI alone had some 400 agents around the country working the case. We had set up a toll-free number to collect tips from the public, with teams of new agents in training helping to work the hotline. Our evidence experts were asked to digitally map many of the evolving crime scenes, and our behavioral analysts helped prepare a profile of the shooter for investigators. We had also set up a Joint Operations Center to help Montgomery County investigators run the case. The Beginning of the End The big break in the case came, ironically, from the snipers themselves. On October 17, a caller claiming to be the sniper phoned in to say, in a bit of an investigative tease, that he was responsible for the murder of two women (actually, only one was killed) during the robbery of a liquor store in Montgomery, Alabama, a month earlier. That set in motion a chain of events that led to the capture of a pair of snipers. Here's how the investigation played out: Investigators soon learned that a crime similar to the one described in the call had indeed taken place—and that fingerprint and ballistic evidence were available from the case. An agent from our office in Mobile gathered that evidence and quickly flew to Washington, D.C., arriving Monday evening, October 21. While ATF handled the ballistic evidence, we took the fingerprint evidence to the FBI Laboratory (then located at our Headquarters). The following morning, our fingerprint database produced a match—a magazine dropped at the crime scene bore the fingerprints of Lee Boyd Malvo from a previous arrest in Washington State. We now had a suspect. The arrest record provided another important lead, mentioning a man named John Allen Muhammad. One of our agents from Tacoma recognized the name from a tip called into that office on the case. A second suspect. Our work with ATF agents revealed that Muhammad had a Bushmaster .223 rifle in his possession, a federal violation since he had been served with a restraining order to stay away from his ex-wife. That enabled us to charge him with federal weapons violations. And with Malvo clearly connected, the FBI and ATF jointly obtained a federal material witness warrant for him. The legal papers were now in our hands. Meanwhile, on October 22, we searched our criminal records database and found that Muhammad had registered a blue Chevy Caprice with the license plate of NDA-21Z in New Jersey. That description was given to the news media and shared far and wide.

Lexy and Nicole discuss Dumb Money and the difficulties most of us face running our investments. Lexy liked the movie better than Nicole who could not get past the central messaging of bad financial advice. We find the movie does a good job bringing audiences back into the world of the pandemic and describes the financial techniques and the basics of reddit well but some of the characters fell short. We discuss how the american economy has forced us all to be investors without the necessary training. We also note how this was an example of online life becoming in real life. Lexy recommends Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. Nicole recommends You're Wrong About's series on the DC Snipers. Website Store YouTube Facebook Group Page

Episode SummaryIn part 2 of my conversation with retired FBI Special Agent Aaron Weeter, we learn more about life as an FBI agent. Aaron explains how he got started, what it was like to work on high-profile cases like 9/11, the DC Sniper, and January 6th, and how he ultimately specialized in drug-related crimes for most of his career. It was fascinating to learn about how Aaron and his colleagues used informants and undercover officers to take down doctors in the opioid epidemic.Be sure to listen to the previous episode with Aaron to learn how the opioid epidemic of the 90s spread to become the fentanyl epidemic we have today: Retired FBI Agent Reflects On Opioid CrisisFor the visually-minded who prefer to listen and read or for those who need closed captioning, watch the transcript video here: https://youtu.be/sDVbaz9FHbMRelated EpisodesRetired FBI Agent Reflects On Opioid CrisisOverdose Awareness: A Sister's TributeAddiction to Sobriety: A Mother's JourneyAnonymous SisterFind and Follow Carole and Wisdom Shared:https://www.caroleblueweiss.com/Subscribe to my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@WisdomSharedCaroleBlueweissFollow me and send me a message on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/caroleblueweissFollow me and send me a message on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/caroleblueweiss/Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/carole_blueweiss/Follow me on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@wisdom_sharedThe Wisdom Shared TeamAudio Engineering by Steve Heatherington of Good Podcasting WorksSocial Media and Marketing Coordinator: Kayla NelsonProduction Intern: Cassidy Rozencwaig
In this episode I have on Katie who you guys may know of on twitter as @mildred_florsh! We discuss the DC Snipers John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo including Muhammad's military service and all the trouble he would cause during this time while simultaneously climbing his way up the ladder. We discuss his strained relationship with his wife, his wife's connection to John Ashcroft. Yeah, you read that right. We also cover Lee Boyd Malvo's rough childhood and his manipulation (brainwashing?) which kind of gives some PTK Manchurian candidate vibes which we dive deeper into in the second part. We discuss the murders, Muhammad's criminal career, his plan to start a compound to train children and much more. This was a really fun conversation, and the second part is even crazier so stay tuned for that! Make sure to go follow Katie on twitter!

Ja Morant is back on the NBA court. But he said his issues were not about alcohol, it was stress and learning to deal with it. So the rumor is that Damson Idris and Lori Harvey are no more. People are speculating that it has to do with his sex scene in the Amazon series Swarm with Chloë Bailey. On What's Trending, Rickey and the crew talk about the first day of Ramadan. In celebrating that, the crew ask, what is your biggest temptation? Also, Rickey Smiley interviewed Mildred Muhammed, the ex-wife of John Allen Muhammed, who was known as the “DC Sniper.” She is one of the nation's most powerful advocates of domestic violence. The DC Snipers Serial Killers DocumentaryBeltway SnipersAt 3:19 in the morning on October 24, 2002, the FBI closed in on the snipers and their 1990 Chevy Caprice.During the month, 10 people had been randomly gunned down and three critically injured while going about their everyday lives—mowing the lawn, pumping gas, shopping, reading a book. Chief Moose had specifically requested our help through a federal law on serial killings.Within days, the FBI alone had some 400 agents around the country working the case. In October of 2002, the DC Snipers terrorized residents of Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland for three weeks. During that time, people lived in constant fear that they'd be killed - shot down - while in the midst of doing normally safe and benign daily activities like pumping gas, waiting for the bus, or even just walking across a parking lot to do some shopping. In total, ten people would be murdered, three people were critically injured, and others would be randomly shot at. Hundreds of FBI agents and local police officers would work this case before it was over. They were desperate to catch the man who was dubbed the DC Sniper or Beltway Sniper by the media. Except it wasn't one man. Investigators were looking for a lone, white, male gunman. They had no idea how wrong their profile was. When it was all over, 41-year-old John Muhammad and 17-year-old Lee Boyd Malvo - both black - would be arrested. And now the authorities had to unravel the strange father-son relationship between the two, and uncover their motive for their shootings. And that is a lot of what we look into today. Their relationship, more akin to cult leader and cult follower than it was to the normal killing duo dynamic. Hope you find this story as interesting as I do!
